EgunMogaji:
I believe that this is beyond the scope of this forum. Or at the very least will require a paid effort for the level of work that it will require.
It's not just beyond the scope of the forum. The forum is not the starting point for such project. The OP just need to understand that only the Governor (Lagos state I know) can approve such project. That's the starting point. The contractors must be duly registered and provide the evidence that he has worked on a similar project. The bills must be prepared by a certified QS. Bros, no be seresere o.

Your project board must be clearly displayed with the names of the main contractor, architect, structural firm, electrical and mechanical firm. You'll need to submit (can't remember exact no) about 7 copies of EIA report to the governor who gives the approval. Soil tests must be carried out and the reports must accompany the proposal with the name of the lab (if not govt lab) and a lot more.

Bros, you may want to ask why all this? The rate of building collapse in Lagos is very alarming and so Gov. Fashola mandated this.
I'm sharing this info with you because you'll see people that will tell you to go ahead, we will settle the officials. The truth is you have to ask yourself "Does it worth the extra effort?" And let your conscience do the rest.

However, a structure (already at 7th floor) belonging to one of the new generation bank in Nigeria was ordered for demolition for non compliance and structural failure.

That's my 50 cent!

@agenta999,

If I were you, I'll be proud of my village brother who's making waves on the Internet. I'll be there to cheer him up all the time. My signature will read "iRep Nkanu East - Home of Spyder880", I will fight to defend him. I'll call him to order if he makes mistakes. I won't crucify him.

Don't you think, O buife ojooigba ama ugha?

Ok o! Sell your own brother out o. I'm sure you know some gullible people will patronize you. They feast on bad news. And here's comes the cook!

FYI, I'm pure Yoruba man from Egbaland. I haven't met Spyder880 before but I love him and he has been a source of inspiration to many of us here.

The only thing we found out is that you're the one we need to watch out for.

For how much? Can you display the condition of the ones you have available?
I can give you brand new boards or first used boards for the fence work. Same price for rental of both.

N150k delivered to site. Removal next day after casting. Reinforcement must be in place before we deliver the boards. No sawing. We will provide drills to bore holes on the board for easy fastening with binding wire. Carpenter must be on ground to assemble as we deliver.

You may want to ask me what I'll be providing you.

It's just a fully assembled board as shown in first picture below. We will deliver the boards to your site and pick it up the next day after concrete pour. We will also give you a cordless drill or an electric drill with a small generator for use during installation.

That's why I suggested renting because that's not all. You'll still do the braces with 2*3 wood. Rentage is fraction the cost to own

I am open to renting some if they are still in good condition and can be supplied to my site on the dates they are needed. I also don't mind buying mine fresh.
It's available everywhere they sell building materials. N6,000 per sheet and you'll require 120 sheets for the 120*120ft fence. It's worth the cost if you actually own for your project though.

@Brabus, some questions about Chateau de Brabus

What type of paint is that and why was it preferred?
What brand or paint maker did you use?
The name of the paint - Grafix
Paint maker and applicator - Legend Paints

Why I like am?

Anyone passing through Badore road will see a house on the major road beside FO filling station. That's what inspired me. I've seen many other people do it but that house is just it for me. Beside that, it is water retardant and weather friendly. Also I wanted to make the lower part of the building interesting without breaking bank or use too much of tiles, so I decided to use the paint to make the wall interesting and it did just that.

In case you don't know, Brabus is also a musician. His musical background dates back to 1989 when he started as a side drummer in the boys brigade, in 1992 became a lead trumpeter. 1995, he was member of Nigerian Football Supporters Club (Altanta 96 Dream Team) under Rafiu Ladipo. He has work with many leading producers and musicians in music industry. In 1996, he worked as a Trainee at OmegaTechnics, a musical production company in Ibadan.

He retired from active music production in 2006 when he joined RCCG City of David, Lagos. He was doing trumpets in RCCG Root of David House Fellowship between 2008 and 2009 before he got married and finally retired from musical production.
In 2014, he came back from retirement to assume the position of a Music Minister at RCCG Lagos Province 43 where he's currently serving till date.

God, I thank you for the journey so far.

@adanny01 @EgunMogaji @brabus

If he wanted to go the beam way, I think he should have done that after about 4 courses then placing the last course of block. Now, cost wise, (carpentry, concrete work) the beam will have to go around the whole perimeter of this mammoth building.

Why do that when you can just have 4-5 courses of blocks to support a 6 course wall? About the Domino effect, there's usually a leg space (about 100mm or less) between the supporting wall and main wall. This allows any pressure from the expansion of clay to be absorbed before reaching the main wall. Fill this space with sharpsand.
Good solution. But I always prefer the best construction method any day, any time. Had those areas been rafted from the very day 1, we won't be looking for a fix. And good enough the project hasn't gone past the stage where corrections can be effected.

Don't mind my stories. Here's another one to encourage people here.

Seascape Villa | Suspended Slab

The original design for Seascape Villa, which was agreed and budgeted for, was a raft foundation which was meant to be sandfilled, compacted and slabbed.
The decision to suspend the slab was taken when someone here on Nairaland raised an alarm that we are building too close to the Atlantic Ocean.
Immediately, I changed the plan to do the traditional raft. Opted for a suspended slab (almost 1.2m above natural ground level because of the site condition. I actually informed the client of the plan to make the modification and the attending cost to which he agreed and we moved on.

The cost wasn't the first thing on my mind. I told him "Bro, I'm building a structure that people will ask you who did this? We've got to do it right. Just give me the time." The client is here to prove me wrong.

The cost of Sandfilling was converted to building the slab and that solves the problem.

The same thing applied to Akoka Mixed Use Development, we never had to sandfill the foundation. We just did a slab and there was a basement. Chekitaut can attest to this. The filling sand he supplied were used to backfill. The site condition actually dictate the solution. Why sandfill a place where a 3 level building had sank?

Some solutions are makeshift or better put only sufficient for time being.

Haa! I'm sorry your name didn't come up in the first batch. It must be machine error. Abeg enter the place before people finish the drinks o.

Bros, going forward its me and me alone. No one to act on my behalf again. Ever wondered if Brabus actually living a double life. At times, his project moves smoothly and other times there were avoidable errors. The difference is not far-fetched from the fact that I delegate the job to people I should have relieved with lesser function. This is not to absolve myself of the major blame but this wouldn't have been if I'm steering the wheel.

The supervisor (for that project) has apologized but how many people am I going to show the apology letter. So, it's one of the major lesson learnt in 2015.

Pic - extract from the apology letter from the supervising officer of the project.

I recognize the modification.

If I ties those 5 which is now actually 7, won't that raise that section in relation to the rest of the foundation?

Continued thanks.
