All I'm interested in is how APC intends to bring the deputy governor. Let's assume that Chidi Lloyd wins and is made speaker cos that's what they have promised him for almost killing his colleague and brother and yet APC claim to be good, then the Ogonis and Kalabaris have lost out just like what Wike was trying to say. Dakuku is in thesame senatorial zone as the Ogonis and therefore cancels the chance of them producing deputy since they are for zoning. He is also riverine which also cancels a kalabari man being deputy since they are riverine. So it means the kalabaris and ogonis have lost out of this race. They will only be compensated with SSG and yet someone tells me Dakuku is a masterstroke by Amaechi. I pity the hypocritical and naïve ogonis. Just feew weeks ago they were crying "ogoni project" and all of a sudden they have stopped. They will always play second fiddle in the state. |
So this man has been rebeling against PDP his party for a long time and they left him yet he still betrayed them. If he wasn't the preferred candidate why then did he not step down? Rather he went behing and started lobbying opposition to vote for him. This is also an insult to the PDP lawmakers that voted for him and accepted when he won, this is an insult to the president that accepted him even though he wasn't his preferred candidate. He is only castigating PDP just to get the governorship position in Sokoto state, Sanusi Lamido did same and now he has gotten what he wants from Kwankwaso and has made peace with GEJ. After the elections next year, I see a lot of peace talks. Till then, I comment my reserve. |
People believe what they want to believe. Its possible that the OP might be talking out of imagination but some people will believe it cos it favours them. So if Wike shouldn't be the governor, who should it be? Dakuku? They say Wike is an occult man but right now, Dakuku is battling with a cultist tag on him which he has denied but those that know him know the truth. If that guy's reasoning was myopic then the northerners are also myopic everyone of them. 80percent of the northerners that voted for Buhari and still want to vote are doing so based on the fact that they see him as an extremist like them. So if we start pasting all the careless reasons why people support who they support, then this place will be flooded with stupid reasons. For instance, Someone told me that "voting Wike will mean chasing non-indegenes out of Rivers State and that occult men will take over the gvot house". So is this reason not stupid? |
Did he confess to the crime? We all know that even if APC is in power, they will still use thesame method of turture. Nigeria is so crude with their torture systems. Look at our prisons and that reminds me, no politician has ever told us what he intends to do about decongestion of prison and better treatment of inmates and detainees. I believe all these calls of humanity will end as soon as the winner of the elections is declared next year. There won't be Lai Mohammed till 2018. Let him sue the DSS to court if he is saying the truth. |
The problem is that a lot of "internet enlightened" Nigerians believe we are like America without religious and tribal sentiments. First of all, if you really want change, you need someone that has something to offer and so far Buhari hasn't shown that he has moved with the world to the 21st century with his ideas and we know that most of the time, the president sidelines his vice during decision making. Buhari is still dependent on his past glory as incorruptible even though I don't believe he is. Who says Fashola is the best? And to think of giving him petroleum minister so he can give all the contracts to Tinubu? Fashola is an elitist governor, a lot of lagosians are living in slums and poor conditions. Fashola's education policy is close to zero so his govt doesn't have the poor in mind. For you to even mention Oby shows that most APC supporters are elitists supporters. Go to the registration centers and count how many rich and enlightened people are standing in queue to register just to vote next year. You will find the commoners waiting and standing while the rich will just enter their cars and drive off. As for Oby, in the East and especially the North, they don't really place women in high esteem, so imagine the sarcasm when they see a woman coming. Pat utomi will make a good candidate, cos he looks like he has something to offer. Atiku and Pat utomi or donald Duke or even Peter Obi as vice will go a long way. |
60percent? That's unacceptable, let his opponents do more, they are slacking, they have to realise that the fight will soon be over and so should not give up now. They should talk to boko haram to do more, Talk to their media to raise more propaganda Talk to their social media war dogs to intensify effort. Talk to unions especially education unions to go on strike They have to make sure this rating reduces drastically till atleast march next year. But the fact is, whom God has blessed God has blessed. The best for them to do is to join hands and let's move this country forward in these times of economic pressure. Criticize constructively and stop the insults and this in turn will create a good political environment and there won't be any clamp down on opposition sorry critics in the country again. |
As usual, its the season. Next might be mile one market but hopefully not. And yet some people will say there's nothing like "juju" in among these businessmen. |
This is really funny. I hate the way the so called enlightened youths of nowadays think. How can buhari say he doesn't have 27million for God's sake? He is being paid pension from two different places, he drives bulletproof cars. If he wasn't able to invest his normal money well then how does he intend to invest our money well? If he is so transparent, he should give us a list of his sponsors. If he emerges the flagbearer of APC, he will spend nothing less than a billion naira in campaign and lobbying cos an average youth believes that this is the only time they can gain from politicians and as such will not tolerate giving theirs. Elections are not won on paper and Atiku said it recently that it is the media that is hyping Buhari, that man doesn't know the intricacies of politics. How many people can donate 200 or 1000naira to get atleast 200million for him and when he gets it, he will pay off his debt before spending on campaign. This man's team is not good. To me Atiku is running the best campaign team. Until Buhari tells me that he will probe Tinubu, Fashola, Amaechi, IBB, Rochas, OBJ, El rufai, Timi sylva, Dangote and others that's when I will believe he is different. |
My dear, I think you got the meaning of friend-zone wrong. To me friendzone means- always keeping the guy around to take care of your emotional, financial and other needs without loving him back. Its usually deliberate by the lady involved and when he tries to leave, she tries as much as possible to make him stay, when he stays, she withdraws again. Its like the guy isn't moving forward. What you just explained is correct but for the guys that believe that they have spent a lot on the girl yet she doesn't even want him around at all. You said you have been in this situation but i doubt. Picture a case where you do everything for a guy, that's love but when you notice that he is taking advantage of your love for him and decide to leave, he pulls you back and pets you and when you come back, he leaves again. That's my take anyway. |
Yet they say the USA is leads the world in freedom and human rights. I don't blame the whites, the best role models for an average black man who didn't attend college in the USA are the hip hop artists. If they claim that life is hard and they can't go to school or leave their ghetto life then they should come to Africa and see hardship yet we are struggling to be educated. I doubt if the tag of rascals and opportunists that some of the whites have put on them will ever change. As far as I'm concerned, there can never be equal opportunity in the USA, the world knows their short comings yet are too afraid to say anything. When you criticize, you are either called a whistleblower or terrorist. |
You judge a man by his antecedents and therefore knowing what happened in Ekiti State, Edo, Osun, Anambra I think his accusations are baseless when it comes to election rigging. But Buhari for instance, in his own antecedents, any election he doesn't win is rigged cos he believes the votes of the north alone can guarantee him victory and we know what happens when he doesn't win. People die. Thank God this is a digital world, except the rigging is done digitally, I doubt if anyone can rig elections in the street without the people of that area being in support. And Buhari should better start telling Nigerians his ideologies and and how he intends changing things, he should stop believing in his northern votes that's got through ethnicity and religious bigotry. Atiku has been doing a good job by telling us his. In a free and fair country, Atkiu should win the APC primaries easily cos he is the only one among the lot that has been working. |
I don't think the north is the least developed region in the country. The problem is that they have so much land mass and most of their indigenes do not like western education and cos of that it looks as if they are not developed coupled with the fact that it is only their elites that can own big farms which we can agree that most of the biggest farms are in the north. They have a refinery, they have kano and so on. And if we check govt capital expenditures since the inception of the country, you will agree with me that they have gained more after Lagos state which is so cos it used to be the capital. Let's not forget that they have got Abuja too. I think the least developed region based on FG expenditures is the south east, it is due to their hardwork that they have come this far and the little that is being done by their state govts. My opinion anyway. |
As soon as Marylin Ogar speaks its assumed she's a PDP agent and not taken seriously even though she's DSS, the most secret, effective and respected security agency in Nigeria. Fastforward to Sahararporters, when they release any news those that are quick to believe them are still those that have refused to believe the DSS official reports. The question now is, DSS and saharareporters who should you believe? When one is a respected security agency and one is a private media house owned by an individual. But that shows how biased we all are here. But that's not the point here. I wasn't taking this news seriously, both APC's report and DSS report but the only thing I picked up here is where she said that the "building they raided didn't have any sign to show that it belonged to a government or private group" and that "the known APC building isn't on that street". If this is true cos I don't know, then there's no need for much argument, APC was using there to do something questionable, and thank God they have come out to claim the building. |
As a nigerian he has the right to his opinions. But in as much as I don't support violence, I think he is underestimating the power of the Niger Delta. Let him not forget that Imo state and Abia state are part of the niger delta and we have the water to transport the oil. When Ojukwu was fighting the biafran war, the major thing that kept him going was his control of the oil in the niger delta, when he lost port harcourt to Nigeria, the war was also lost. I keep saying that nothing will stop the ex-militants from talking like this cos that's the only language they know and don't blame them, you don't know what it means for your source of livelihood to be taken away from you cos of oil spillage. Go to the creeks and see people suffering. If you want to know the power of the creek boys, go and interview the white men that were kidnapped in those days. The only people that can't see the danger the militants pose are those that have not been there before. Let peace reign. Even if you use military, it won't work, OBJ's Odi bombing comes to mind and yet it didn't stop them. |
bulletproofmonk:My brother, I was at the brink of insulting you now but I don't insult people especially not on social media and definitely not a stranger I don't know. Read what I wrote about the "GLASS HOUSE". You just read the first line and jumped to criticize. Or don't you know that that's another name for the NFF? The building where Nigerian football is run is called the glass house. Cheers. |
Personally, if okocha and Kanu can agree to work together with the proper coaching trianing and qualifications, I think it will be better. I agree with him that the problem is beyong coaches but he has shown a lack of patriotism in this last few months, he believes he has proved to the world that he is a good coach, a world class coach and he is no longer hungry to win with the country. So on that note he should go. As for the players, they should all be disbanded, and the only ones that should be left are those that still have the passion to play for the country not to show off or pass time but to win, when they lose, they feel ashamed and that's the spirit Okocha and kanu can bring. Then to the giant of them all, the glass house. They are all a bunch of politicians, they should all leave the glass house for those that are passionate about our football and not the money in it. If the players and coaches are changed and the old men in the glass house are not, the problem will continue. That's my take. |
lanrefront1:Well, my point is, his recent political stunts and what I see now about him makes me believe tose that say he wasn't directly involved in them and that most of the ideas were fron his deputy Idiagbon. And I'm not talking about past glory afterall he had power of military then and ethnicity wasn't much apart from the norththen but at this stage of our country with democracy, it will be difficult for him. But I'm talking about the fact that he was being paid salaries as a military officer, GOC, military governor, head of state, chairman PTF, petroleum minister and pensions as a head of state and military officer no matter how little and he drives atleast two bullet proof cars yet this man after about 20years of leaving power, cannot afford 30million naira? We don't know him to be a philantropist so where is his money going to? The more scary part is that people are funding his campaign, let him officially release the names of the funders since he is acclaimed to be transparent so we can see how many of them are funding him cos they love the country and want the best for him. Atleast he could have aired an account number so that we can say the masses are funding him. As for Atiku, in as much as there is no evidence of him stealing our money, I didn't say he isn't stealing anyway but my point is that he has shown that he knows what we need in this country. If he is going to be sincere, that's where the problem is, then I will vote for him. And I'm not an APC member at all so for me to think ourside the box and like someone from the APC that will show you that I don't do politics of ethnicity or following politicians without ideologies. |
Present buhari and Atiku anytime anyday and I will pick Atiku. The man has shown that atleast, he knows how to go about solving the problems of Nigeria if he wants to. Buhari hasn't in an way whatsoever shown or even told us what his plans are. He believes he can win automatically and if he doesn't then its cheating. Let's take a look at the cheap publicity stunt of borrowing 27.5million without collateral, seriously what do his supporters take us for? How does he intend to pay back? Why has he not been able to invest his money well, if he wasn't able to manage all the money he has been getting since his time in the military till now atleast to own a small farm or herds of cattle how does he intend to manage the country? If only Atiku will be sincere and carry out his plans, I would vote for him. But OBJ will not let that happen. |
Seen this house severally and its very beautiful but except the interior design is very exceptional, the house is nothing close to a billion. Just this big building and another one or two which looks like the BQ or or the hall and the hill-like something in front of the main building. The house is really affordable if you compare how long he has been in politics and how greedy and corrupt our politicians are. I'm not saying the OP doesn't have a point, we are on thesame page but my difference is based on what he said that the house can be taken for a four star hotel. If you are so fascinated by this compound then it means that enugu politicans are not stealing much. Come to my state, that's Rivers State, a common LG chairman built a five star hotel at omoku(krisdera) and even small commissioners are building shopping malls for homes. Its quite unfortunate the kind of people leading us. If you check carefully, you won't see any constituency office in all the areas he represents. Smh. |
Personally, I think he or any other APC candidate should go for Rochas cos it will influence the votes of the south easterners who are a major group. Oshiomhole will be good based on the fact that he looks loyal and will give him peace of mind as his vice. But he doesn't really have the crowd. Amaechi, cant assure him of enough votes in rivers state and he can't be trusted to be a loyal assistant to him as his vice. To me Amaechi is the most vocal but he is also a time bomb waiting to explode and with Amaechi's political support and money, he may do to him the same thing he did with OBJ while he was OBJ's vice. My opinion anyway. |
The 2014 formula one(F1) finals starting today at 1pm, who is your vote on? The finals is being closely contested by the two Mercedez Benz drivers, Rico Rosberg and Lewis Haliton. If Rico wins todays race and Hamilton comes 2nd place, Hamilton will still be crowned winner of this years F1. The game is slated to hold at Abu Dhabi, Dubai. |
Who still takes Sahara Reporters seriously? This is the kind of reaction they expected when they released this news that's after running it through their sponsors. The head of Sahara Reporters have come out openly to voice his opinion about the govt saying the govt is the worst thereby confirming that he isn't a supporter of the govt in this vain he would do anything to prove his assertions that the govt is bad to make sure he isn't put to shame and is proved right, therefore they are no longer supposed to be a media house you go to if you want to get an unbiased news about the country. This isn't about being a supporter of GEJ or not, it is about the normal reasoning of a human being except you are biased too, I used to give them some credit until last 2weeks after the 5million dollars house issues and his comments thereafter. If you are bringing media houses to stand as judges for anything partaining governance in this country, I think where others are still trying not to take sides, Saharareporters has shown that its already taking sides. Therefore isn't qualified to stand. I know they have their sources of information, but I will wait till the Chadian Govt comes out to deny this report, very soon the loopholes in this report will be clear.when they deny it, then I will comment. |
otega88:I don't normally reply people that insult others cos it shows how frustrated they are. You can shre your idea without insulting me and I believe I not the only one that doesn't shre thesame idea with you. Now to the topic, the military doesn't do such protests and nysc is considered technically as a paramilitary. Nysc didn't say they won't be paid their money but that they should go to their respective LG of posting first and its not the first time its happening or are the others fools? They have laws that guide them in nysc, they have the camp court to go to in case they have grievances. What should be noted is that their money will be given to them and its not law that cash has to be given to them in camp. Now they have the freedom to protest but not that kin of protest. All thesame, you can see their protest as the right thing to do, I differ from that and the last time I checked I have the righht to not reason like you. But if you still have a problem with it, you can go to hell. For your information, Rivers state govt doesn't pay state allowance until after one year or more when you are no longer a corper, the question is, will they protest that too? |
First of all they are not the first that this is happening to. In Enugu State, the batch. B 2014 corpers were not paid in camp, they went to their respective PPAs to open their accounts before they were paid and I'm not talking about stream 2. Secondly, protests are illegal and not allowed through out the NySC year not to talk of in camp. I pity this country at the crop of graduates coming up cos they are learning from their governors and representatives cos they believe we have freedom to do what we want. But let them read their bye-laws and see. It isn't compulsory that it will be paid in camp whether the nysc officials have something to hide isn't the issue here, they have a law guiding them and they should obey. Some of the people protedting actually came to camp with as much as 100k yet nothing is remaining. |
As usual Amaechi leading the pack. Wish I was able to see the protest. APC has only one ideology and that is to keep raising alarm to deceive the masses and so far they seem to be doing well cos GEJ doesn't have a good PR team to tackle these things. A good example of hypocrisy is there ability to do the protest peacefully yet the person they are accusing of impunity had the power to use the same police to stop them but he didn't. Let them go to the polls to vote him out, that's if they can. They want to raise alarm now so that when they lose the election they will say they said it. Chai, Nigeria. Smh |
#bringbackourgirls should be the hashtag of the year but its not nominated and that Japheth omojuwa guy is popular cos he criticizes the govt. The award organizers should know that he is a confirmed paid agent of the APC to keep criticizing and insulting the FG and that disqualifies him. I even prefer Chude Jideonwo there atleast he is more objective. But its their show and their award. |
What he wrote is his opinion. Though it is obvious that Amaechi and Wike have hidden issues that are causing their problem apart from what they want us to believe. I know that they are thesame kind of men who believe in all or nothing, they want to be in charge at all cost. But Tonye worked with them during Amaechi's first tenure, so he should help us to reveal some of the secrets he claims he knows. I almost agreed with him but when he got to the extent of saying that Amaechi and Wike are working together, that's where I disagree. Though some of the people criticizing him here are doing that cos he stated categorically that he isn't going to the APC. Finally, I think it is premature to start asking for money to fund his election, what if he isn't given the flag what happens to the money? |
Its not really supposed to be so on a normal basis but the growing level of insecurity has caused this and knowing how over zealous our security outfits are they will take it too far. It is difficult before you see them being professional especially the police. I understand the fact that the presidential villa should be like this but not the national assembly afterall they don't live there. In Ghana for instance, their national assembly is like a tourist center, people even learn how to drive in the premises but yet you can still see orderliness there, they don't mis use the opportunity but thesame can't be said if Nigerians are allowed free access in there. Just look at the recently passed FOI law, Nigerians are already abusing it badly and this is one of the reasons why it took time to pass. I hope oue mentality in this country will change for the positive cos if it does, a lot of things will be going well for us. |
These are the kind of things you read and see and you will know that the world is a large place that can contain everyone as long as you decide to survive. If they can survive why can't you that has all your limbs complete survive? Why should anyone be able to pull you down. I don't pity them cos I know that's what they detest but I praise them for their perseverance and wisdom to adapt. By the way, if it were in Nigeria, they would have been called evil children or people will say their mother is a bad woman but in India, they are being worshipped, that goes a long way to show how positive minded they are over there and that's why things are working out better for them. |
This story is funny to me cos sound sultan gave out 1million dollars to girls without anything in return in his song "natural something" so the begger expected atleast 100k lol. Anyway these guys flaunt so much wealth and people always expect them to give out large sums of money. You don't expect wizkid to give out 100naira when he flaunts dollar bills around on instagram. Personally, the money is their money, they worked for it and they didn't force anyone to buy their cds or come to their shows even though they are singing rubbish most of the time so you should not expect them to give you all their money. You should be grateful for the little you were given. If the beggar had the strenght to walk up to the car to drop the money then he should have the strenght to go out there and work hard for himself. And I don't think that beggar has ever bought his cd. I blame these artists in a way cos they make people believe they have it all and that's the impression the beggar has. Issorite. ![]() |
This OP is on point. This is thesame thing I have been saying. GEJ will win not cos he is the best or PDP is good but cos the real electorates are not in nairaland or any social media. They do online voting where buhari emerges victorious yet I go outside in my street and ask people selling goods and shop owners and touts in the parks and jobless youths and 90percent of them have never heard of nairaland or even have phones that can browse. They also believe pdp should go but they are scared cos so far they have not seen any alternative to pdp. Amaechi insulted Rivers State indegenes when he said he wasn't part of pdp rigging in the state when we know the role wike played for him in his re-election. He keeps calling the president bad when we know that he has continued paying judiciary workers so that they won't come back from their strike. I ask people that if GEJ is responsible for lack of development in the state cos amaechi doesn't support him wouldn't it be better to vote GEJ's person in the state next year so that the development will start coming? Knowing that if we vote amaechi's man and GEJ wins the development won't still come. We are all tired of pdp yes, but apc hasn't shown us that they will be better. It is only a child you will tell that a governor that was under pdp for 7years is bad and as soon as he left pdp his sins was washed away. |
