Foreign AffairsRe: Palestinians Blast Nigeria For Abstention In UN Vote by brainpower(m): 7:41am On Jan 02, 2015
I agree with the poster who said the topic should be changed to "OIC blasts Nigeria". What has been the stance of the almighty OIC about boko haram and what have they done to help? Israel has done something to help and yet we tried to remain neutral.
The only reason we are still a member in that organization is just to avoid religious violence if not it doesn't have any use to us. They are now calling him a "Christain president". We know their plan, Nigeria isn't one, as long as we remian in this alliance as a country, though we may not break up but we will continue to have religious violence. The only reason there hasn't been massive killing yet is cos Southerners are becoming wiser and ready to retaliate both in the north and in the south. But even though APC wins the election, there will still be killing of southerners over there and that will show us that they just enjoy killing not cos of politics. But I won't comment until FG issues a reply to this insult.
CelebritiesRe: Ace Movie Producer, Kunle Afolayan Blasts Fans For Criticizing Him by brainpower(m): 6:27am On Jan 02, 2015
As a man he has the right to do what he wants and post it wherever he wants. But he is seen as a role model and he should know that people should be disappointed. The guy said he shouldn't have posted it on social media not that he shouldn't have smoked. Kunle always appeared as a cool headed guy I guess that's why the guy was surprrised, if it were Jim Iyke or Olamide, it wouldn't have been a big deal.

In the entertainment industry, if you do a particular kind of style, it sticks to you, that's why the good guy image is being put to him but I have come to understand that they are not usually what they portray outside.

So to me, he shouldn't have posted it and let him not give me that line that shisha isn't dangerous, studies show that they are.
CultureIs A Husband Really The Glory Of A Woman? by brainpower(op): 6:17am On Jan 02, 2015
Didn't know where to put this topic but since we have made it a culture in Africa and especially Nigeria that's why I put it here.

I was in a heated argument with some friends about this topic and they said that no matter how successful a woman is, nature, culture and religion demands that she should be married or else she isn't complete because to them "a husband is the glory of a woman".

But I believe that in as much as that is the norm in the country, it is wrong because there are women who got married and their husbands became a source of downfall or holds them down by turning them to housewives when they have potentials inside them.

I believe it should be a personal decision by the woman on whether being married or not adds a major achievement to her.

This doesn't exclude the men. It is also believed that you are not fully responsible until you are married.

I will really like opinions here. Thank you.
PoliticsRe: Doyin Okupe Challenged APC Supporters With 250k by brainpower(m): 6:14am On Dec 26, 2014
And still no winner for the 250thousand. Attacking the messenger. His twitter account is there, go and answer the question and when you win, tell him you don't need the money.

The truth is Buhari was just a means to an end by IBB and Abacha and he is still a means to an end by Tinubu and his cohorts. I pity the man, now he is being forced to wear suits and snap pictures with tablets and give out chrsitmas wishes. What happened to the years when there were no elections? Why did he go into hibernation? Why didn't he atleast condemn the killings after the 2011 elections? If saving Nigeria was so dear to him then, why didn't he retire from the military and run as the president with support from his fellow coupists? We are called beginners in democracy cos he pushed us back about 30years so he could come back and rule again. That coup has gone down as one of the greates tragedies and set back since after the civil war.
PoliticsRe: Shagari Knew Of Buhari's Devilish Ambition. But : Lawal Kaita by brainpower(m): 5:57am On Dec 26, 2014
On a side note, the impeachment was personal simple. He wasn't ready to work with you and your party so you connived to impeach him, that sounds personal to me.

On a more serious note, I want to ask the "sai Buhari group", if Buhari had not truncated democracy as at then, do they think Nigeria would have been in this state by now or we would have moved further and better? Atleast we won't be called beginners.
Do they believe that the coup is the "first and major step back" since after the civil war?

According to him, Nigeria was in decay and that's why he came in. As a saviour that he is portrayed to be, couldn't he have voluntarily retired from the military to run for the presidency? With the support of the senior military officers who planned the coup with him.

Fine, going by his supporters argument that he didn't plan the coup with them even as the most senior officer then, it means they are saying that he is clueless. He was just a means to an end by IBB and Abacha and he didn't know it and if we should go by that since his supporters are following him cos of his "acclaimed" antecedents, it means he is also a means to an end by some politicians now like Tinubu. Definition of cluelessness.

Any angle you see it from, that man is going to be worse as a president. He should better go home and invest his 1million naira and rear his 150 cows.
PoliticsRe: Professor Osinbajo And All APC Members Must Read This! by brainpower(m): 4:03pm On Dec 25, 2014
The only way to prove that you are against Gej or a "progressive" is by abusing the president. No matter how unrealistic the accusation is, just do it, it is enough for Tinubu. Osinbajo has the right to association but I believe he is also a man that has his own mind, he doesn't have to join in these baseless insults. We have seen achievements in this country even though a lot of forces are fighting the president. But I don't blame him anyway, he has to earn his nomination as the running mate and also has to prove that he is APC by talking his own.

When I see Buhari and Osinbajo, all I see is Tinubu behind making all the decisions. If Buhari wins, the govt will be run by Tinubu. And whenever I think of it, I pity this country, cos it will belong to only one man.

Tinubu chose APC chairman, APC running mate, he influenced the APC campaign DG and chief funder to join the party, he brought all the yorubas in ACN to APC. It is quite clear that, he rules APC and if they win, he rules Nigeria.

Osinbajo, another agent activated by APC. Nigeria plays dirty politics, hope he is ready for it? But personally, it is very obvious that he is Tinubu's puppet, this is obvious to every Nigerian, after reading his profile, I feel for him that at his level he is a puppet to a power hungry godfather. Why didn't he run for president instead. I have never talked about him and this will be the last time I will do it. Really disappointed with him.
Foreign AffairsRe: USA Shuts Down North Korea's Internet After Sony Hack by brainpower(m): 9:35am On Dec 23, 2014
I saw a report where North Korea denied hacking sony. But the US should have been more patient cos I believe there's more to this hacking than meets the eye. Though the world knows them, whenever they dislike any country, they no longer listen to logic, they go all out to do what they want be it in the middle east or africa or asia.
Who is to say that they didn't do the hacking themselves after North Korea showed their displeasure about the movie? And why should they ridicule the head of another sovereign country? What happened to diplomacy?
I have stopped seeing anything the US does as black and white. There's always something hidden somewhere.

CelebritiesRe: This Piece Written About Tiwa Savage Is Very Deep(with Photos) by brainpower(m): 5:20pm On Dec 22, 2014
As usual some people are attacking the writer.
To me, I don't think what she's doing is outrageous but the only problem with it is that we are in Nigeria and Nigeria hasn't moved to that level of civilization which she is aware of if not why did she do traditional wedding properly dressed. I believe some of her colleagues will not be happy with it while some will like it. And I know some people are doing this out of envy. Funny thing about it is that tomorrow she will be made an ambassador for peace. So all we should do is let her be. If you don't like it, whenever her show comes up, don't go or don't listen. And just like some said, her hubby isn't complaining. For me, I like her songs, but I don't have any special likeness for her. I'm a fan of her music but not her fan.
CelebritiesRe: Maheeda Turns Down N30m To Star In A Pornographic Movie by brainpower(m): 5:05pm On Dec 22, 2014
If not that a lot of men and some women are secretly perverts, I don't see why this woman will still be listened to. I know some people will start saying "hater" but to me the best way to show that someone is irrelevant is to ignore them. This woman seeks too much attention and its becoming annoying. Nobody has ever seen her claimed husband and who is to say that she isn't lieing about the 30million. She knows Nigerians are hypocrites and secretly want her that's why she keeps doing all these.
To me she's indirectly telling Nigerian men how much it takes to get her. And I don't think she will ever act porn cos the suspense she puts those men that follow her will be gone. Enough about her.
PoliticsRe: Amaechi is currently leading in the Best Nigerian Governors Polls (join now) by brainpower(m): 4:56pm On Dec 22, 2014
I wonder how some people cook up their ratings. The Dental hospital that is claimed to be built by Amaechi is a partnership, go there today and confirm. They don't go on strike and Rivers State govt doesn't do the employment. They just built the structure.

As for schools, he built only primary schools and the secondary schools he built are just seven in number which most are not complete and the secondary schools only admit 750 students in a session and being run with 800million a term, how is this good? So if we agree that he did well in the primary even though he is just doing the job of the LGAs, what happens when you graduate from primary school? No good secondary school to compliment the primary. Talking about the tertiary, he runs it like his private school.

He built health centres and abandoned the General Hospitals, the health centres can't even do a minor surgery. The hospital he awarded in his first tenure hasn't been completed till now and let's not forget that he awards each school with nothing less than 110 for each school not including the equipments for study and landscaping.

He must have done his best in his first tenure, but I don't think Amaechi deserves to be among the first three.

Dakuku my man. He just told us what he intends to do for us if he's elected but the funny thing is that these are thesame things Amaechi promised us 8years ago. Thank you Dakuku Peterside for indirectly telling us that Amaechi has failed in his promises.

One of the Decampees even stated it that even though Amaechi failed us, we have to forgive him only because he changed the flagbearer from Ikwerre.

Amaechi failed, therefore his protege will do thesame.

Christianity EtcRe: Which Church Does Goodluck Jonathan Attend? by brainpower(m): 1:41pm On Dec 20, 2014
I understand the Op for the question. The problem is that we Christians have spoilt christianity. Some so called born again christians will kill you if you criticize their denomination while they will laugh with you if you criticize another.
Personally, any bible believing church is good. He doesn't go to worhsip man, he goes to worship God. Provided they believe in Jeus Christ as the saviour. Why should he be defined to one church?
I ask people this question a lot. Why is it that we no longer have missionaries? If the whites that brought this christianity to Nigeria decided to own churches, we wouldn't have known christianity now.
Most missionaries don't belong to any church.

So Op, in as much as he has been linked to Olumba, his father was buried in Anglican church which means we can safely say that Anglican is his native or birth church. Any other church he decides to attend as an adult and as a christain shouldn't bother us. Afterall, the current Pope prayed in the mosque few weeks ago.
PoliticsRe: "I Feel Sorry For Goodluck Jonathan" - Etcetera Writes by brainpower(m): 1:17pm On Dec 20, 2014
Good write up, tried as much as possible to be neutral.
I agree that Nigerians are tired of PDP cos that's what some people will argue that the PDP ruled for 16 years. But the problem now is who will bell the cat? Certainly not the crop of opposition we have now cos they are there for their personal interests.
When Buhari is mentioned, I pity him, cos he is just a pawn in their political game. That man is as clueless as anything, there's no proof that he will be able to change anything cos this corruption perspective has eaten into the hearts of a lot of Nigerians.
For instance, you have an employer that wants to give out a job, he decides to give it to his brother even though other people are more qualified for that job, how does he intend to deal with that? There's nobody here crying "sai buhari" that will reject the job even though he knows he doesn't deserve it.
And the most unrealisable is the fact that 80percent of APC chieftains are all corrupt and thieves especially, Tinubu and Amaechi, we hear he will be made the petroleum minister even though he doesn't have any experience in the oil sector( isn't that corruption?). Buhari disobeyed the oputa panel, he said Abacha didn't steal any money, he gagged the journalists, actually, he imprisoned them and the most annoying part is that he isn't even educated. He couldn't differentiate between economic security and security of lives. VP can be sidelined if he wants. This confirms that Idiagbon was the brain behind his govt then.
Why can't Osinbajo run as president?
Even in America, you don't dare run for their presidency if you are not educated. I pity the youths that are supporting this man. But its all about choice, he is a citizen and has the right to contest. Wish him the best and hope he retires when he is defeated this time around.
NYSCRe: Varsity Sent 27 Hawkers For Youth Service —JAMB by brainpower(m): 7:09am On Dec 20, 2014
I'm not surprised that UNN was mentioned. In as much as the institution is good, they are still over-hyped. The indegenes of Enugu especially Nsukka use the university as the best in the world for them cos they will always graduate no matter how bad the students are.
Almost all the lawyers that are graduated can't even speak good English, and when they graduate they move over to the law school in thesame state. They end up not doing anything. They are specialists in graduating those that specialized in Igbo Language.
But I think their medical school from the first year is one of the best in the country.
I know some people will be offended with what I wrote but that's what I noticed and my opinion.
So I believe its possible that the corps member in question can come from that school.
PoliticsRe: Anglican Church Opposes Catholic-catholic Ticket In Enugu Guber Race by brainpower(m): 5:13pm On Dec 18, 2014
This is one of the reasons why I feel religion and ethnicity are the worst problems we have in Nigeria.

Though I'm not in support of this call I can still understand their point. If you have stayed in some part of Enugu State or some parts of the east in general, you will understand the reason for this call. When I served at Nsukka, enugu state, someone actually told me "may God forgive you" just cos I told them that I'm not catholic. They believe that the only good denomination is catholic and this includes some of their enlightened ones.
I hope they resolve the issue though.

Good Observation, But that is Why We Need to Stop the Plague called PDP and all its infections coming 2015 even though it will affect GEJ

1 => Your Number one is based on Self interest of those such as Religion, Business, Politics gains so that is for Nigerian as a whole
2 => There is no leader that will not Have oposition, even Obama has. The advantages that GMB will have is that if he Win the election free and fair no bagga will confront him because noting to blackmail him off. in case of GEJ he has something his fellow are using against him that is why he behave clueless at time not that he his, no wonder he's try to win the coming election free and fair so he can stretch himself.

I'm not saying GEJ has done well or not: should be judging the matter since 2011 where he promised a lot and failed to fullfill it.
There's just little buhari can: There is much he would do because he climb the position not as dummy but as someone who has observed and had experiences, couple with some intelligent jugernut around him who would not want the reputation of APC to damage.

To be Continue....
I get your point but who are the intelligent juggernauts? Tinubu, Obj, Amaechi, Oyinlola, kwankwaso, Atiku, Rochas, etc these are all confirmed looters of treasury and all of them except tinubu were members of thesame PDP that finished nigeria. Are you telling me that if after making him president, he will reject the names of people that will be given to him by this people I mentioned? I will only believe him when he tells me what he intends to do with the men I jsut mentioned. Don't expect me to believe that they changed cos they are now in APC.

Buhari hasn't observed anything, he goes into hibernation after every election and doesn't condemn terrorists attacks till it is time to contest again. Out of his experience, he said Abacha didn't steal any money yet we are getting stolen money. His statement about sharia shows he is a religious extremists and with muslims dominating the national assmebly, I'm afraid he might get a full scale sharia, that's judging from his anticidents since that's what we are using to make him look good. Fine, let me go with you, since there are intelligent people around him, why don't they run? And save Nigerians the trouble.

I was opportuned to be the Efcc President during my service year....and during our advocacies, I do tell the students that corruption starts from stealing only for our President to come out and say stealing is not corruption...

ain't that insane?
I believe I made it clear that I'm not in support of the payment without working. Concerning Libya, it has been widely agreed that libya was better off during Gadafi than it is now. He was kiiled cos he wasn't doing the agenda of the westerners.
Talking about corruption, even the president said it that to him, the best way to fight it is by eradicating those loopholes people use to steal or do corrupt practices. I'm not saying Buhari shouldn't win, but I am saying that there's little he can do. If PDP is the problem, he shouldn't have gone with Tinubu and the rest to solicit for Obj's support, he would have been against the inclusion of PDP members in his party. They kiiled the country and they want to run his govt down. If GEJ leaves office tomorrow, he will beg buhari and tell him that he has also repented and wants to leave PDP. He just wants power, he isn't a politician, he isn't a bigwig. There's so little he can do. My opinion.t
PoliticsRe: How The Bigwigs Describe Jonathan's Presidency by brainpower(m): 7:25am On Dec 12, 2014
Opinions! Opinions!! And opinions!!! There are bishops, politicians, big businessmen who can also attest to the fact that GEJ is the best and that Buhari will be the worst thing to happen to Nigeria. So try something else to stain the man's image. This one didn't work. Was it not Obj that put him there? Even if buhari becomes president, there are commoners that won't be happy too. If you were gaining from GEJ's govt, you would have called him the best. I'm not saying GEJ has done well or not but I don't see buhari doing better with cabals fighting him. Its all about interest. People look at Nigeria as if it is America. Do you know how many youths in this country that are being paid salaries without going to work? I'm not saying it is good and don't want it to stop but these youths don't want there source of income to stop. There's just little buhari can do if the governors decide to frustrate him, we know the states are a bit independent from the Federal. So he won't tell a governor how to spend his money cos this is no longer a military regime. Does he intend to bring KAI to flog people on the street? People will sue him.

Convenient for her to say cos it involves her, she expects us to be civiized and pure. Though I believe she allowed the hug based on normal greetings out of excitement but I doubt if baba had pure thoughts when he did that. The problem with us in this country is hypocrisy, I remember when GEJ was dancing at a rally close to a woman, she and El Rufai and others had impure minds and it was ok but now it isn't ok to have impure minds cos she's involved. The man in question is a chronic womanizer who wrote about people's infidelity in his book yet decided to have selective amnesia when it came to his son's accusation of sleeping with his wife. But finally, based on African tradition and official protocol since they were in public, it was completely wrong for OBJ to hug her from behind. Completely wrong!

This negative meaning should be expected and that's why we are in the digital age. People will always pick out the wrong in everything you say or do. Always negative. When you remind them of instances where their own bosses have made inflammatory statements like "rig and roast" etc, they tell you that he isn't the president but jonathan is.
For instance, Buhari's answer when he was asked about "economic security" would have made him come last in the primaries today cos that was height of cluelessness but yet he is still a contender.
I think the president has made his point, its left to us to read the knid of meaning we want.

I said it beofre and will say it again, Fashola is an Elitist governor, his education policies are close to zero. From the primary to the tertiary. When you look at the hype the man is getting and compare it with what's happening in his education ministry you wonder if this is actually the almighty Lagos led by the almighty Fashola. There's a diference between knowing what the problem is and solving the problem. When he talks, you tend to see intellingence but implementing it is zero. So you expect Fashola to fold his hands and watch his annointed person lose? Anyway what matters is that he didn't deny the fact that Fashola had a different candidate from him which automatically means political difference which will definitely lead to political war anywhere in the world except one of the party involved decides to withdraw for peace to reign. So far Fashola hasn't congratualted Ambode, which means he hasn't given up yet. I hope they settle soon, afterall its just politics but I think fashola should be allowed to choose his successor atleast. They should stop giving us this cock and bull story about peace between them.
