I am a Southern Nigerian. But, most times, I'm ashamed to admit it. That's because I've noticed that Southern Nigeria might be the World Capital of Stupidity. Sorry my people but, please, hear me out first before the crucifixion. The worst part of it is that most of us Southern Nigerians seem to think that we are wiser compared to the Northerners. Of course, a hallmark of fools is that they judge themselves by themselves - and their judgment always favors them against others. That's my Southern Nigeria for you - an enclave of highly educated fools. Once again, I'm sorry for this verbal brutality but I hope that - like bitter pills - it may help to heal our crass levels of foolishness here. HERE IS A CASE IN POINT Today, I read two first page posts that were adjacent to each other. One of the posts reports about 'a reign of terror' going on in the South-Eastern city of Onitsha while the other is talking about how some herder terrorists are still sacking Ogun residents and forcing them to flee to Benin Republic! www.nairaland.com/attachments/13256935_screenshot20210313154422_jpeg9749252ca286e93b482b069a6080330e I believe that the Nairaland Admin purposely and wisely placed those two reports side by side to make Southerners think. But, instead, the Southerners (mainly Igbos and Yorubas) turned the reports into an opportunity for their usual online inter-tribal wars - trying to show which is better between Amotekun and ESN in very very bitter terms! How much more stupid can we get as a people! Everywhere on Earth, it happens that a common enemy unites people. But not in Southern Nigeria - one reason why this may be the World Headquarters of STUPIDITY as I said earlier. How could we afford to be fighting each other at the same time that we are getting plundered by a common enemy!?! It's such a big shame to any Nigerian that Nigerians now have to flee to little Benin Republic in order to save their lives. But, it is a greater shame to Southern Nigerians (and to Yorubas in particular) that the people forcing us to flee our homes are from the far-away North - because of our extremely unwary attitudes like those of our ancestors for centuries now. It's also a shame that Igbos often complain about oppression from foreign terrorists but would so easily become terrorists unto themselves (as in the 'Onitsha reign of terror'). Is that how Igbos will run the Biafra they're looking for? As one of the shameless mockers noted about the Onitsha report: If they like, make them chop themselves alive. What I know is that online country go sweet die.We have become so stupid that our common enemy now has all the strings for controlling us. He knows the one to pull and get us to fight with each other. He knows the one to pull and we are begging him to rule us. Oh, it's so painful and shameful, chai! WHAT SHALL WE DO THEN? So, if any humanity or maturity is left in us, these things should make us too ashamed to easily be pointing accusing fingers at other people. Again, that's the height of stupidity. Instead, both online and offline, we should be discussing and working and spending all our energy on getting ourselves out of this mess that our years of stupidity has gotten us into. Let's flee foolishness. Instead, let's learn the kind of wisdom that liberates people from personal/national slavery and shame. Feel free to bash the hell out of me anywhere you think I got it wrong (because I'm also one of the Southern fools). |
dumahi:May be, it was peace of the graveyard. |
musabayokanu:It's because of a mistake you made while registering your GMB account. You will have to close that account. I will guide you on WhatsApp (at a little cost) to get verified by email or phone. |
dumahi:How obvious is it? I didn't read up to number 4. I think that's what happened to most people. But, who else has tried serious money talks in the bedroom? |
DEMZEE:Do you really think that what Prince Harry did amounts to weakness? If you asked me, I'd tell you that the opposite is true: it takes a tough soul to rebel against an entrenched system like the British Monarchy. What do you think? |
Welcum:If my wife and sister were in danger and I'm able to save ONLY ONE? That's a tough one. But... Hmmm! Why is everyone avoiding this question? |
dumahi:How about VARIETY alongside STABILITY? You saw the explanation that people of SIMILAR, not SAME career can use their careers to bond? |
chiommy123:Joint account? Does it exist? Can you tell us more on this. |
Kiddogarcia: dumahi:Why do you disagree with number 1? |

Let's see what happens. |
Hmmm! From an Air Force mishap in Abuja to a near Navy mishap in the Niger Delta. What's up actually? |

From what you said, I can deduce the following as the cause of the problem: 1. You obviously think that romance is all about physical intimacy. 2. You are pissed off by the 'injustice' of you having to spend your hard-earned money on a romantic partner. I think that life will be a lot easier if we begin to see romance as an opportunity for mutual self giving - Not just sex or financial commitment. |
Hmmm! |
VictorUSA:They edited what they reported earlier. The earlier report said that Gumi said that Muslim soldiers were causing problems. The truth is that the Fulani people in the military are the problem and they are mostly Muslims. |

Uzodinma seems to be a carbon copy of his mom - in his brain too. He likes reading and writing a lot.

Most of us here know Nigeria's former finance minister and now WTO boss NOI. But, do you know any of her children? Get to know a little about one of them - especially that he seems to have a plan with Nollywood veteran Geneivive Nnaji. According to a piece of news making the rounds, the young man named Uzodinma Iweala, who is a medical doctor as well as a published novelist, "jokingly" proposed to the veteran Nollywood actress Geneivive Nnaji recently. The people reporting the news even have photos to show for their claims. Here are the photos. And, who else thinks that the resemblance between Uzodinma and his mom is just spot-on?

But they will never display such a valor against the murderous Fulani bandits. Instead, they negotiate with them and pay them ransom. The trillion naira question now is, "why?" |
Sure, any means of achieving lasting peace is OK. It's just that most Nigerians have lost confidence in this Government due to several cases of betrayal of trust. Based on what Government has been doing, most Nigerians have learned to take everything from the Government with a pinch of salt. To say it as it is, MOST NON-FULANI Nigerians feel that Buhari is working with the bandits behind the scene. Otherwise, let Lai Muhammad tell us why Fulani herders have been sacking Nigerians from their homes, raping, kidnapping, killing, and threatening them openly for 6 years across the length and breadth of the country, BUT THE HERDERS ARE NEVER EVER BROUGHT TO BOOK. Instead, the Government always rushes to act against anyone opposing the bandits. If ever the Government is doing anything about the bandits, it's ALWAYS to treat them softly and kingly (as in this case of dialoguing with them or the alleged cases of paying them huge ransoms from the state coffers - which amounts to arming them further). |
Why on Earth do humans with brains insist that Nigeria must be one? |
Ttalk:Hahaha! You don kill me. |
OlujobaSamuel:Please dear, the colored text I'm using is to make it more fun to read since there's relatively a lot to read. But since you have problems with it, you can send me a DM so I can email you the entire thing. |
