Health / Re: Drop A Suggestion On How To Solve The NMA Vs Johesu Issue? by Brannyslim: 10:41am On May 23, 2018
Hairyrapunzel:

Johesu is fighting for equal pay with doctors but are hiding under the guise of fighting for efficient and effective health sector. They want good health sector yet they pose as medical doctors in Nigeria doing what's not their job.
That's how one pharmacist said they can prescribe drugs using kalo or trial and error because they are medical doctors who don't perform surgeries. You guys are the reason Nigeria ranks low in healthcare delivery and the reason is that you claim to see patients yet you don't know jack about diseases.
Do your job the right way and see if Nigeria will not rank high in healthcare delivery. Johesu make up the quacks doctors in Nigeria. Even cleaner dey claim doctor. Be killing Nigerians everyday.

You making sense

The funny thing is that...most people will just open their mouth to say what they don't know about. Let's bring it out of hospital to a normal job environment. We have a cleaner, his supervisor, the typist, a PA and the boss for example. Will it be right for the supervisor of the cleaner to strike because he is not getting equal pay as the PA? Or the typist saying, we are all equal here, I want to have thesame pay as the boss?? Let's think out of the box. Millions r dying everyday on wot is not even supposed to be. Whether we like it or not, the major reason for this strike is simple.... OJUKOKORO. They want to be their own boss and stop getting orders from doctors with the equal salaries as evidence. We need to wake up.

I'm a 400l medical student in Lasu though I did a first degree in OOU, BSc Anatomy. I entered through normal Jamb, I didn't take d. E form. I must say, going through the two schools, LASUTH is better than OOUTH. My last school fees was 37,500(hostel fees inclusive with 24 hours power supply ) . Though it differs with class but the highest would be in final year that's 70 something thousand. So financially it's good for the quality.

Looking forward to meeting u... I guess u r the badfire toyin v been hearing about...

Well, it happens in all state schools(favours indigenes) but the ratio is still okay... U jst read well and leave that part for the school to worry about. And most especially, pray well.

You cannot work in Antarctica unless you have had your wisdom teeth and appendix removed.
quote author=CassieV post=43971549]
Why's that? [/quote]

People with emerging wisdom teeth will notice that the pain increases during the cold. The pain is intense in the night meaning cold temperature has a way of inducing pain on growing teeth.

Can't say much with CHEM because the major chunk of peeps admitted via D.E studied a basic medical course... ANA, PHY, BCH... And MCB.
Health / Re: 'We Perform Surgeries With Torchlights&Lamps In Univ. Teaching Hospital'-Doctors by Brannyslim: 11:57am On Mar 18, 2016
TheophilusA:
Following the ongoing nationwide strike of doctors, the immediate past president of the Association of Resident Doctors, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital(UITH) branch, Dr. Oyinlola Oluwagbemiga and his successor, Dr. Ade Faponle, on Wednesday said that due to epileptic power supply in the hospital, doctors use lamps, torchlight and phone lights to treat patients. Oluwagbemiga and Faponle spoke during a media briefing in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. According to Oluwagbemiga, “There are certain procedures we embark upon, you have to complete them using your torchlight or phone lights. Imagine that you are in an emergency where you have to resuscitate a patient and you resort to that. It is that bad. It even stretches to sanitation. We have reached the point where you are having a major procedure and all you can hear is ‘please we can only supply light for the next two hours, make sure you complete your operation.’ And there are operations that last for four or more hours. So if you have such, you have to reschedule because you have been told ab-initio that you are on your own should you embark on such.”

The Director of Administration, UITH, Mr. Ganiyu Yusuf however said the management of the hospital spent about N16m monthly on diesel and N3m monthly on electricity bill to the Ibadan Distribution Electricity Company. Yusuf said, “As management, we are not going to join issues with the resident doctors. But we are going to state the facts. It is not news that electricity generation in the country is bad. The problem affects everybody, not only the hospital. We spend N16m monthly to buy diesel. We have a 500KV generator and another 350kv generator, as well as many other smaller generators to power each unit and department. The N16m that we pay is different from the N3m that we pay to IBEDC every month. Imagine what N19m could have done, if we had steady power supply in the country. We have done what we could do as a management with the resources available. We have separate generators for many sections. If you turn on the light in the hospital because of the operations the doctors will do, we keep it running until 4pm. Even when the power is on, how many of the doctors are ready to perform surgeries? If we know that in our area power will come at a certain time, you programme your activities. We lost three people in an attempt to stabilise the power supply. One of them was electrocuted and another dropped in water. What we are trying to do is to link up with the university and take power from Ganmo. Imagine the huge cost.”

I guess they shuld ask lagos state how they power LASUTH with 24/7 supply of electricity.... grin

Cannot categorically say. Because considering how easy to is to get some girls laid.. and with the way guys love to pride themselves in sexual contests, it would be sth worth thinking seriously about if I find a guy @30 and he's still a virgin.

Like, come on.. 30 fat yrs and he never for once fell for such a temptation.

I have a friend who's a virgin @25. He attended a Seminary school, but hey.. That guy's issue is peculiar. It may take a lot of effort before he even gets around to sleeping with his own wife.

It should be noted that the other registrations (departmental, library, heath) can be done anytime and not necessarily before commencement of lectures.... HAPPY RESUMPTION in advance people.

STOP THE MEDIA INJUSTICE AGAINST LASU- NO MASS FAILURE ON CAMPUS! LASU STUDENTS ARE SCHOLARS! PLUS ASPIRANTS BE CALM. I read with disdain, the false information currently going on in the media. These set of lazy journalists,in their usual penchant for abnormalities, rape of ethics and bastardization of LASU repute, have once again thrown caution to the wind by jumping blindly into another train of infamy. These set of unprofessional pen wielders neglected the fact that "One must be patient enough to listen to the drum being beaten before dancing at the market square". As pathetic as it sounds, the media is presently saying to the public "LASU students failed their exams" with headlines like 'Mass Failure in LASU as SUG blocks gates'. This shame of headline is totally erroneous, falla cious and misleading. The public opinion now is that: LASU students failed their exams. Another Media injustice against the 31-year old institution. The Mass failure the SUG protested against does not cut across all courses as the media speculates. It is exclusive to GnS 201 and 301. The reason for the mass failure in GnS boils down to the huge number of students that writes the exams-missing scripts is always prominent here. In this light: I will like to set the records straight by separating the Lion from the Pig. Greatest LASUITES. Two things happened in Lagos State University yesterday 1.National Association of Nigerian Students South West (NANS zone D) came to LASU yesterday and blocked the school main gates. The reasons for this action is not far fetched. NANS had earlier given the State government 7- days ultimatum to solve the hitherto LASU VC crisis (which has been lingering since March 16). nigeria.shafaqna.com/EN/NG/795460 . The 7 days ultimatum elapsed and the state government didn't take any action. Consequent on this , NANS comrades came to campus yesterday and locked the two main gates, leaving banners behind. 2. The Students' union, coincidentally also had plans to protest prior to NANS arrival. The SUG staged a protest against an imminent mass failure in GnS 201 and 301. According to the SUG president (AWO) they heard 75percent were bound to fail these GnS exams. Thus, they acted. The mass failure is exclusive to GnS alone and does not cut across all courses as many people are being made to believe. The reasons for this mass failure boils down to the huge number of students that writes the exam. Missing scripts is always prominent in this course. Consequent on the foregoing, it suffices to posit a conclusion that; LASU situation is not as bad as the media portrays it presently. All she needs is more attention from the State government. We,the students populace plead to all parties involved: the State government, our fathers and mothers in the Staff unions and our sagacious management to please come together on the peace table and reach a long lasting solution. And to all the aspirants and will-soon-be freshers, keep calm, don't jump off your bike before it stops. You have every legitimate reason (s) to be aggrieved. I was once in your shoes and i know how it feels having that feeling of uncertainty. Not in a country where gaining admission is so herculean and gargantuan that: once its achieved, people go to church to give testimony. However, that is why you are aspiring to be a student of the best University in the world. By saying the best; this doesn't necessarily mean the best in intimidating structures or less turbulent atmosphere. The best in the light of -fire refining a gold, heat bringing the juicy oil out of the kernel. LASU will frustrate u,and even make you cry,but never feel bad or stigmatized-albeit be resolute. LASU toughens you for life challenges with all these intermittent crisis, do not be bitter, its all for the best. By the time u have contact with students from other schools at seminars/ competitions; you will appreciate what LASU made you go through(or is making you go through). LASU is our darling, our future and our pride, let's join hands to move it forward. God bless Lagos State University. God bless Nigeria. Thanks.
