Kelvinkipler: The OP has an extended knowledge in the truth of the gospel. However, many do not know this or understand the hope of salvation and so rather than depend on God Christ's finished work on the cross they put canal faith in their own works backing up with scripture that says ' work out your salvation with fear and trembling... '. That so far os one of the most misinterpreted verses of all time. A note of warning: Believers must be aware that devil can twist scriptures to cause fear. Do not fall pray, christ has paid. How can the devil twist the words of a living God? Remember: Hebrews 4:12(NIV) "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any two edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrows: it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Difference Between Living A Fruitful Life & Living A Sacrificial Life by Brigance(m): 12:47pm On May 15, 2016 |
jiggaz: There is one mistake some Christians make today which should be corrected. It is about living a fruitful life as a Believer in CHRIST. Mind you, Salvation in CHRIST is only by Grace through faith in CHRIST... nothing more nothing less. The reason Apostle Paul admonishes us believers to be living a fruitful life as evidence of our Salvation is not because we would lose our Salvation but its only because of our relationship with people.
Now some or most Christians have termed living a Sacrificial life as the ideal Christian life which is to produce fruits but they got it all wrong..... Look at the explanation below.
Living a “sacrificial life” is not the same as being fruitful. To sacrifice is to give up something for nothing, like the lambs did on the altar. They received no benefit from it. The notion that Christians have to live sacrificial lives is man’s idea, not God’s. Jesus said that He came so that we could have an abundant life, not a sacrificial one. (John 10:10 )
Christians aren’t asked to give up something for nothing. No one who is truly walking with the Lord thinks of it as a sacrifice, he thinks of it as a greater blessing than anything he could have otherwise received. People who take pride in living a sacrificial life are missing the point, and by denying themselves the things they secretly still want (it wouldn’t be a sacrifice if they didn’t), they not only aren’t producing any fruit, they may just be performing works of the flesh. You can tell because the result is not joy, it’s jealousy, envy or resentment toward others. These are not the fruit of the Spirit. Reconcile the above with this: Romans 12:1(NIV) "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrit, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your true and proper worship." |

Doubt is a scientific weapon, not a satanic... what did you call it again?
If your faith can't stand the test of doubt, it's not worth a faith to begin with.
That said, you can't overcome this fear if you keep reading the bible.
I wonder how you will see something like "For our God is a consuming fire" and not be trepid. |

What is a Vector?
In physics, when you have a vector, you have to keep in mind two
quantities: its direction and its magnitude. Quantities that have
only a magnitude are called scalars. If you give a scalar
magnitude a direction, you create a vector .
Visually, you see vectors drawn as arrows, which is perfect
because an arrow has both a clear direction and a clear
magnitude (the length of the arrow).
In Essence, vector is a quantity that has magnitude and a direction. |

After you must have been convicted of your sins, evidenced by a session of wrenching tears, then you say with your mouth and believe with your heart(of course not head). Then your version of the Holy Spirit is released onto you. Thereafter, you understand the deep things of the Bible. |

The law of reflection: The law of reflection shows the
relationship between the incident angle and the reflected
angle for a ray of light incident on a surface. The angles
are measured relative to the surface normal (a line that
is perpendicular to the surface), not relative to the
surface itself.
The index of refraction: This quantity describes the
effect of atoms and molecules on the light as it travels
through a transparent material.
Snell's law or the law of refraction: Snell's law shows the
relationship between the incident angle and the
transmitted angle (refracted angle) for a ray of light
incident on a surface of a transparent material.
The critical angle for total internal reflection: Total
internal reflection is the situation where light hits and
reflects off the surface of a transparent material without
transmitting through the surface. It utilizes the critical
angle (the minimum angle of incidence where total
internal reflection takes place.). For total internal
reflection to occur, the light must start in the material
with the higher index. Please, can these be simplified a little into layman's language. |

Did you get this spirit before reading the bible or after reading the bible? If the spirit came after then how did you understand the bible before it came? If the spirit came before, then how did you get the spirit without even reading the bible? I haven't thought in this direction before. However, a time before now, I'd have said the Spirit came on me as soon as I became born again.. Funny enough, he'd probably agree with me.. |

I belong on the 'opposite' side science.
I am a law student in one of the federal universities.
But recently, I've flirted with physics enough to imagine how one would actually live in a world he knows next to nothing about.
Imagine an Apple falls on my head in the garden and the next thing I say is 'Thank Zeus, for plucking me the apple.'
I would love to learn physics and I'd love if you'd help me.
I bought a physics textbook already and I'm not foolish to think i wont have problems studying it.
Here i am. infact, here we are(I am certain quite a number of people here are in my shoes.)
I'd post problems as often i encounter them in the textbook.

OLAADEGBU: Execution is different from murder. Execution is done lawfully while murder is the unlawful killing of a human life that you did not create. You can only take a life that you created. God has the right to take what He has given. When the law of the land is execution you cannot say that it is an unlawful killing. If God executes a judgment He has set who are you to appeal against it?
You do not have the right to murder an unborn baby for whatever reason the best one can do medically is to try to save them both. Only God has the right to take life that He has given. I'm always enamored by the ways of god. Quick question: is it morally right to withdraw education, health care and advancement support from my own child? Christianity Etc › Re: My Thoughts And Questions About Religion by Brigance(m): 1:11am On May 13, 2016 |
Then the Lord God asked me:
"if you don't question a thing, can you conclude the truth from it?"
"Honestly Lord, I don't think so." I replied.
The Lord God smiled and agreed with me. Then He reminded me of how He had to question Adam and Eve about their flagrant bellicose before he banished them from the garden, to ascertain their offense.
Specifically, the Lord God reminded me this portion of His infallible words:
Genesis 3:8-12 New International Version (NIV)
"Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” And he said, [b]“Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”[/b[ The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
The Lord concluded: "you see, I can't just conclude they have sinned, I had to ask them. Despite the fact that I knew all along they would sin. Remember I'm the all knowing God."
I became exceeedly glad with the ways of the Lord. And I decided I'd make His way my ways. In my excitement, I foolishly asked the Lord 'Can I make your ways my ways? Can I question the truth of this story?'
Then the anger of the Lord Kindled against me and His eyes burned in fury.
"I'm the consuming fire!" He boomed. And he proceeded to dig pits and pits of fiery furnace for me and my children after me.
Till today, The Lord is still digging and His only begotten son is still seated at his right arm, pleading on my behalf. |

Decker: It's not always about the money for ladies. How do you guys even arrive at such conclusion?
First of all, let's establish a foundation to base this argument on. Are you referring to gold diggers and poverty stricken ladies who are desperate for a money bag to lash on, or are you referring to women who are looking for a man to build a future with? If it's the former, then you maybe right with your supposition, but if it's the later, then, sorry, you are so wrong. Mind you, it's the later I am referring to and debating on.
I am talking about requirements for serious relationships and not "side guys" and "part time boyfriends/ sugar daddy kind of relationship. For serious relationships, especially one aimed at marriage, money is just a fraction of the criteria, but it's never a single, independent criterion.
Those women who are having babies for celebrities aren't having those babies because they love them and want to marry them, they are only having the babies for financial security. They only see them as an opportunity to make money.
The entire population is made up of 60% of women and 40% men. Out of the 40% percent of men, only 5% make up the wealthy of the population. If your assertion holds any truth whatsoever, then why are the 60% of women not hooking up with this 5%? How come more than half of the 35% still find themselves in healthy relationships? How is it that there are women who still take it upon themselves to be bread winners? How is it possible that guys who aren't all that financially buoyant still are able to get wives? How is all this possible if money is all ladies want? This analogy, if not entirely applicable, is accurate nevertheless. You may however be wrong where you assumed the point of money is not focal to the ladies when planning life eengagement. The sad fact is that many of our ladies do not marry for love anymore. This is rather unfortunate, as guys around have reconfigured their mentality, believing once they make the money, ladies will flock irrespective of their delinquent character/moral/personality structure. |
