Hello, kindly tell me what to tender as proof of communication between my husband and i as i delete most of our chats and also, we do more of regular calls and whatsapp calls too.
I may not know what device you use, but most smart phones would occasionally back up whatsapp chats such that even after deleting chats, they can be retrieved from the backed up ones. However if you delete chats, does your spouse delete too?

On the flip side you have phone calls and emails. I know spouses don't really communicate much by emails but when am making such applications, I would normally drop a line or two twice a week by email to the one am inviting. Nonetheless phone calls are a very good means of communication. I may not know if you are the husband or the wife, but you can get call logs from both ends. In the UK service providers would give you monthly call logs (maybe on request). In Nigeria, you swear affidavit at a court with which you would get police clearance. With the clearance your service provider would give you call logs (usually for the last three months, or 6 if required). If you persuade them, they can give you a cover note as well.

We plan to apply next week.
We will do the full sponsorship and provide accomodation etc.
Your case is very similar to mine, only that my wife is preggers at the moment. I will email you; respond and then I'll give u a list

Yes they were returned. But I can't find them anymore. Do you think I should enter my best guess and explain the discrepancy under the comment section?
I don't suppose so. So you are certain the dates you gave are different from those on their birth certificates and Int'l passports? I don't advise mocking about with guesses anyway.

If I were an ECO I probably would be hard to convince. I would query on what basis you gave the first date of births on the previous application, what prompted you to give what you gave...

But let others share their thoughts...

Pls I have an issue. I have previously been issued with UK Tier 4 visa. I need to make a new application for a company-sponsored training, however I have forgotten the DoB I used for my parents and all efforts to trace the former application form have failed.
Any suggestions on what i should do pls?
Weren't your supporting documents returned to you? A copy of the original application form ought to have been returned likewise.

I was refused a Uk Visa last Year December in the refusal letter to visit my wife
I have noticed you both are married but theres no evidence to prove your conversation either after or before marriage ..
you submitted a bank statement which was rescently loaded with a large sum of money before you applying
Pleasw that statement was my uncle statement to support me because i didnr have a bank statement at then
They said i have no strong ties in my own country
I want to apply again can i have someone different support me or i still have to you that same uncles statement and explain why it had that large amount the other time i was refused
Is it compulsory to use that same statement and explain
What steps should i take when reapplying please
Not having a job in Nigeria and applying for a visit visa is a killer. A good job in Nigeria can be a good tie as it is what you would leave the UK for. Also other loopholes created doubts in the ECO's mind as to whether you were a genuine visitor.

When you applied last year, did your uncle provide a sponsorship letter stating he as supporting you and did he provide his biodata page?

Not providing evidence of communication with your wife was another killer. People could forge marriage certificate. People could even marry only for papers and cos they have no relationship their conversation might be minimal or infinitesimal.

It's not a must to use the same sponsor or bank statements, but you would do well to address the issues in the past refusal.

I applied for masters in 2010 through an agent in Lagos. Unfortunately, I never knew those agent gave me a fake statement of account after paying them 250k for them to fund my account. Been the first time applying for visa I was not aware of the process. My application was refused and was told will be refused for up to 10years. Along the line I was arrested and through that I was able to know that it was fake statement of account that was given to me. But the person was arrested and the police begged me to let go and forget about the account. The family begged me as well and I left everything to God to take control. Almost 7years now I have not tried to apply again at the UK embassy. My question is that, can I still apply now if I will be given or I should wait for that 10years? Pls I need your advice
Omo, this one no be God matter o. I mean, it's not to be treated less than it was. That man wouldn't have had only you as victim. Some people need to learn from experience. You for sue that man, as he gave you a bad record. Sue him for 5 Mil... my opinion grin grin grin

Anyway you would need to wait for the ban to be lifted naturally. UK immigration Law states you would refused if you present a falsified document even if it is WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE. So even if you apply now and try to explain that it's not your fault, it wouldn't make much difference.

By virtue of having a daughter in the UK is already a plenty tie. In the past one can appeal a refusal of a family visit visa as UK take family life very seriously. They only refuse a family visitor if the applicant is unable to proof the relationship. In your case, your mother only need to proof the relationship with (daughter and son-in law). Other documentation are secondary. If she is refused, God forbid, it will be hinged on her unsubstantiated proofs of relationship and not necessarily her lack of home ties. My opinion.
I give it to you, your opinions have a very strong solid base. I remember a lady once shared on this forum the refusal letter of her mother inlaw's visit visa application. Her case is similar to mine, but according to the refusal letter they failed to include the proof of relationship between herself and her mother inlaw. Also on finances, they quoted the applicant had £278 in savings in her Nig account but the ECO said there was no evidence of the funds. So I reckon the mother inlaw's bank statement was missing.

In my case, for relationship proof; I have my marriage certificate which shows my wife's mother's name. I also have my wife's date of birth which shows my wife's mother's name. I also have money remittance receipt of sending money to my mother inlaw as well as call logs and a few pictures of myself, wife and mother inlaw together. These are on top of the other documents...

If your mother in law knows your sister in person as someone living in the UK. Then it is reasonable she mention her as a family friend and provide information on (your sister). Since 2012 I have been using my sister husband parents who are UK citizens as family member that I know and stayed with in the UK and I have never had any problem. In 2015, I added my sister to family member list, when she had UK Permanent Residence. In 2017, I added my wife to the family member list, after she acquired her British passport. Your mother in law would be okay because the reasons for her visit is understandable. Just hope for the best.
Ok, are you saying my mother inlaw lists my sister's name as her family in the UK under that section in the application form? Aaah, if I go by that I have a lot of family here ooo. My sister, my brother, myself ALL CITIZENS.. That would definitely be seen as my mother inlaw having plenty ties to the UK.

Mother inlaw does not communicate with my sister or brother. They only met on my wedding day in Nig and never again since then.

The concept of family between the UK and Nigeria are different. The key issues is that UKVI want to know if an applicant has the potential to overstay if he/she have any family member in the UK? An overstayer is more likely to be housed by a family member including cousins for free of charge. Having a family member in the UK have its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are free accommodation and feeding and less financial birden on the applicant. Disadvantages are potential refusal as ECO may be worried about overstaying.
Well, I guess so. Thanks for expounding.

Talking about family in the UK, what do you then have to say about my case? We inviting my mother inlaw to come visit us (wife and I) for 2 months as the application states. This is to provide emotional support to my wife as she gives birth. I have already sent forth my supporting documents to Nigeria. The application has my name as son inlaw and my wife's name as the daughter of the woman we are inviting for which I am the main sponsor; my wife would part sponsor.

Part of the documents I sent was my mortgage statement for the house. I partnered with my sister, also a citizen, to buy the house as my wife is only a year old in the UK and can't ordinarily be included on a mortgage. However the finances to purchase the house was generated between my wife and I only. The mortgage statement states my name and my sister's name. So I asked my sister to do a letter stating that she only teamed up with me for the purpose of the mortgage and she does not live with us which is true. I did not include my sister's name as family my mother inlaw has in the UK. Would you say my sister is family with my mother inlaw? There's no relationship. There wouldn't be inlaw directly attached to my sister here, but with me I am son inlaw. What do you have to say on this? Their TLS appointment is this week.

There are a lot of things that are not stipulated by home office! If I have a cousin in the UK I would refer the person as a family member! After all I cannot called the person a friend or what else.
Yes I agree with you 100 per cent, but I think Home Office is more interested in attributing immediate family as your family members

A cousin is person born of your father/mother siblings. So it could be implied to be a family member
But the family membership as stipulated by Home Office for the purpose of visit visa application doesn't recognise that thought... Naturally we know a cousin is family...

While answering the question if you have family members in the UK, what the Home Office sees as family (immediate family) are listed clearly and cousins ain't there huh

Every application is treated on its own merit. The OP has been denied a visa when she was unemployed. Trying to explained a backdated employment letter will only make matter worse. If she is now in employment, all she needs is an introduction letter from her employer backed up with payslips to reapply in 6 months time.

Hello house, I'm going to the UK to visit my sister for two weeks, which appointment type should I select? I want my visa ready in 15 days.
Depends on your pocket size and how desperate you are... see attached image for pricing for a 6 month general visitor visa. However ignore the selected 'standard'. This period (visa season), you are most likely not gonna get your visa in 15 working days if you chose standard.

Hello everyone, good job you are doing here. God bless you all.
1. I want to apply for my mum in law to visit us in uk, however the only assest she has in Nigeria is an hotel which is close for now for renovation( she has letter of registration, c of o etc), can we include that in the application and state that's its closed for now.

2. Is it necessary to get letter from the landlord because we can't assess him and all we plan to do is to add bills and d tenancy agreement to proof accomodation . Since she is staying for 2 weeks

Lastly, do I need to get letter from my employer because we plan to do full sponsorship but we will state dt she will provide her transportation. I will include my pay slips, bank statement and work I'd.

I will appreciate if I get enough responses quickly cos we plan to apply this week.

Thanks
In my opinion...
1. Yes, you can include the hotel. It does not matter whether closed or in operation. It is a landed property. What about people that have only virgin lands as ties? Your case is even land with a structure.

2. Do you pay council tax? Council tax and bills should suffice.

3. You can use payslip, bank statements and letter of employment. You do not need to go ask your employer to do you a letter, simply fetch your contract letter from when you were hired.

Advisory:
Then I take it that you do not know that it is the norm of Civil Service in Nigeria to back date document and it is totally legal even in business.
Have you not heard of pay rises that were decided in July of 2017 for year 2016 and letter was issued in July but stated pay rise takes effect from January 2017.
All you need to is get a letter from your office explaining reason for back dating if it has not been explained in the original letter. Also if you were paid for the back dated years please show evidence in payslip and bank statement.
Nooooo, this is damn too risky. Backdating pay increment start is not same as backdating employment start. They are just toooo different. Your explanation is similar to someone claiming arrears or pension owed them for long, that can be backdated to when they were originally due.

It's risky here for employment start. What makes sense to a Nigerian might not utterly make sense to an ECO.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum. Pls I need to know about this Uk new documents scanning process, I read on TLScontact that all documents must be presented in A4 size copies, Do I have to make photocopies of each documents? Pls anyone with better understanding of this new procedure should kindly throw more light. Thanks.
TLS would not send your original documents to Sheffield. They would scan them at your appointment and give the documents back to you and send the scanned documents to Sheffield. All those documents you use as supporting documents need to be A4 for them to scan them. If you have any documents that aren't on A4 size paper, then you make a copy of that document unto a standard A4 size and attend the appointment with these and the rest..

YOU ONLY NEED TO PHOTOCOPY DOCUMENTS THAT ARE EITHER SMALLER OR LARGER THAN A STANDARD A4 SIZE, e.g. marriage certificate...

Hi guys, please what are the documents needed in getting a UK visiting visa. I'm going for my cousin's wedding in Oct. I'm currently in SA doing Msc where I have Temporary residency through Study permit. What do I need to apply as an holder of Nigerian passport? Must I come back to Nigeria to apply?

Thanks in anticipation.
The application is basically online and you can apply from anywhere but choosing the option of Nigeria as where you are BUT you would have to go to Nigeria for biometrics if you say you applying from Nigeria

My family friend, sponsored his brother who is over 40yrs, the brother had no job...he was given the visa.
This case is different and the circumstances here totally different as well. Nonetheless no one here knows the mind of the ECO and no two ECOs are exactly the same albeit there are rules guiding their decisions. Most times ECOs judge by instincts even when you apparently have all they required on paper. This is why some people appeal, wherever possible, and win sometimes.

Whatever info you get here is advisory. However I believe it's better to compare opinions to give you a better position in order to avoid refusals that can attack your travel history.

Can someone with a valid 6 months visit visa 'mult' still travel to the uk even though the reason for wanting to visit has passed because of delay in getting back the passport? Won't there be issues at the point of entry?
In treating your matter, utmost care must be taken. On page 16 of Immigration rules, a visa can be cancelled at POE on your circumstances. See the page below, under Change of Purpose - V9.3
However if you marry all the advise you have got on this forum, you should be fine.

The only original document you should photocopy are documents bigger or smaller than A4 paper. So what I'm trying to say is, when going to TLS, take all your original document and any original document that isn't in A4 size( for example, marriage certificate) photocopy it into an A4 size.

I saw somewhere on the TLS website that the original supporting documents would need to be photocopied by the applicant and submitted alongside the originals. Did anyone do this, or is it really a requirement since the original supporting documents would be scanned to Sheffield by TLS anyway?

Also, does the applicant get the supporting documents back after the scanning on the same appointment day, or would they be posted at a later time?

They will be able to log in in Nigeria and print out. Just remember the username and password and send it to them for them to use and log in. You can fill the online form for her, make payment, choose the centre and date online. When you're done, give them the username and password let them log in and print out the application form cause it's part of the documents needed. It will be scanned at the visa application centre.
Many thanks boss

I wanted to ask. Once one does online visit visa application, is there a requirement or provision to print out the completed online form and add to the documents to submit at the TLS appointment? There is such for spouse visa application, I don't know if it's same for visit visa.

Am now ready to apply for my mother inlaw, but I want to be the one to fill the online application myself here in London but it would like she's the one filling it since it's online and location does not really matter much. Then if there must be forms or acknowledgements to print off, I believe they should be able to log into the account in Nigeria and print what I must have filled (or must I print myself and send the hard copy documents to Nigeria?)

Note, I have already sent my supporting documents through a friend that visited.

Not absolutely necessary, all our bills are in joint names and I have done invitations with my details only . Of course you both parties can sign if it makes them feel ok.
Do you know the balance a sponsor could have to be able to invite the mother inlaw to visit and stay for like 3 months? The house is mortgaged.

The letter should be sign by both of them since they are living together. This demonstrates consent from bith parties. That is if proof of address like utility bill bear both name.
Council tax bill bears both their names; I suppose a council tax bill alone suffices for proof of address? In that case the sponsor which is the husband will write the invitation letter inviting the mother inlaw and sign it. The wife will also sign.

Was wondering if a woman, who is not a citizen yet but legal in the UK, was having a baby with her husband who is British, intend to invite the lady's mother to visit them in the UK. The husband is the sponsor. Would the letter of invitation come from them both written as a single letter, or if the sponsor alone has to write it?

You can still get the visa even if your proposed travel date and intention for travel have passed. That would not be a yardstick for denying the visa application.
