Darosa23: Most of the available airline tickets are subjected to federal government approval. I spoke with Ethopian airline few minutes ago. They told me to hold on from buying ticket, because they have not gotten an approval from federal government. They have being on that for very long time now. That Nigeria government is not helping the situation, because all the other country has opened up their international flight.
As anyone bought ticket to UK in the house, which airline and what date? BA is selling tickets. U can get tickets for flights from September; the earliest flight availability is Sept 6. For reasonable prices, you are looking at mid September. Also, dates are flexible until around end of September such that you can change your dates. |

Teepee85: Pls house, I intend to spend 8 days in the UK and I understand that we need to quarantine for 14 days when we arrive. Do I need to include the 14 days in my hotel reservation or there is an arrangement for people coming in to quarantine? There is no local arrangement from the Govt. If you intend to actually physically go out of your accommodation for tourism, u might want to include the 14 days in your reservation. To be honest, it has not been clearly spelt out and a lot of questions around this are yet to be answered in the UK. They expect people to self isolate upon arrival and submit details of where they would be isolating in but there is no real policing as people will mix with others in public transports on their way to their hotels and the likes |

Roneld77: @giselle this my host nah stubborn host, she insisted that i should not submit our WhatsApp print out conversations to show a genuine relationship between us, she said that they will want to check my phone lol, i told her it’s not an interview; that my applications or documents submitted will make the decision of the visa, that even if nah U.S. embassy i get interview and questions of how we meet as a friends is throw to me, i will tell them we meet on social media and if they need proofs i will show them the WhatsApp conversations print out and metals materials are not allowed in every to all embassies here i even screenshots your advice here send her about adding the conversations she no gree ooo.
Abeg, help me out she’s a white lady and doesn’t know much about our embassies here.
She think say it’s easy like bread and beans to get visa from 9ja...just the way she moves around the world from the UK without visas.
How do you see it ? You once told me to use my tongue to count my teeth to be honest am counting my teeth’s right now as am convince I don’t want to submit anything that will rope me off the visa.
We haven’t meet offline before as i am thinking maybe i should submit the WhatsApp printout conversations without her knowing because nah only me know my country 9ja just the way she her own country too, and remember we are not in any love relationship thing, but friend’s, so the WhatsApp chats don’t have anything romantic like kiss stickers ect
The sentence beneath is her chats:
Oh and like iv told you already if u want to listen or not, u shouldn’t print our conversations, because when they see them, they will probably ask to look at ur Fone, to see what other conversations we been having, so unles u gunna delete everything that incriminate anything then I wouldn’t give them conversions.
She think say maybe getting visa from Nigeria is easy as cooking English meals or what tea’s u having tonight UK English term as what u plan eating for tonight tho. Your sponsor may have a point, depending on what constitutes your conversations. Since you guys are yet to meet, there may be some lines of convos that suggest how excited you too would be when you finally see. You may not know how free you could get in conversations. Even if you want to edit all conversations, you may miss out on some elements that show online only relationship. |

LoyalRoyalty: Continue to eat your popcorn. Once the application is well packaged, more than 6 months UK visit visa is achievable for a first timer without any travel history. Let me know if you need more popcorn. Yeap. I do agree with u. No need flogging this matter any further. There is no clause that stipulates 6 months visa comes before 2 years and so on, from Paragraphs V4.2 of Appendix V. It boils down to strong application with compelling supporting documentation. However people apply and hope they have satisfied all aspects. Some get approval and some refusal. Bottom line, given a first time applicant; scrutiny of 2, 5 or 10 year long term visitor visa is more than that of 6 months. While you may have first hand information on 2 or 5 years first time visa approvals, there are also other experiences with a refusal. It's Saturday, I want to do 'Clean Up'. |

Graceee: I plan to travel to Uk by september for visit, but I need answers to these questions.
1. For the 14 days quarantine will I have to pay for the hotel before arriving in UK or I will just fill a form and write the hotel name?
2. I only plan to stay for 5 days but if quarantine is still in place that means 14 + 5 days= 19days.
3. during the 14 days quarantine am I allowed to leave the hotel to visit places and back as well.
This whole quarantine is discouraging travels. I suppose you already have your visa. 1. You should already know where you would be staying. It must not be a hotel. Where you would go straight from the airport is what you should fill. If you are staying at a hotel, you ought to have secured the accommodation. Is that not so? 2. It is always adviceable to stick within the period stated on application. 5 days stated and 14 days extension, I do not know how it would be interpreted. If the extension is not 'significantly' more than quoted, there is usually tolerance. 3. NO |

Rerin: Can anybody please respond to this request Can I apply for two years after unused 6months visa due to pandemic You can certainly reapply but it's best to reapply for another 6 months visa. 2 years is easier when you can be trusted as a genuine visitor to the UK. That is when you have a history showing entry and exit stamps. If you have not violated immigration rules for the other countries you visited it is also a plus for you, depending on what countries though. My best advise is reapply for another 6 months. Your reason of avoiding application process is lame, sorry. Reasons are usually why you need to visit the UK multiple times and not just to avoid multiple application process. |

graceodini: Good Afternoon everyone. Please I have a friend who wanted to travel to the UK in April ending but had his biometrics appointment cancelled. He filled in the form that he will travel to UK on April 24 and leave UK on April 30. But when he had his biometrics appointment rescheduled he stated he will be traveling to UK on October 25 and he will come back on October 31, he had his biometrics appointment done yesterday. So he said one of the guys outside Tlscontact office told him he supposed to fill another form that he will not be granted because the date of arrival in the UK written on the form is different to the one his sister who is inviting him wrote on the invitation letter. His sister wrote in the invitation letter that he will be visiting her now on October 25 and leave UK on October 31. So I told him it's a big lie because I also had my biometrics appointment cancelled due to coronavirus outbreak and stated my new date of arrival and departure in my cover letter. I told him it's a global issue and not his fault but he still dey fear o. Please help me enlighten him so I can show him people's responses. Thank you all. Well, ordinarily statements on application form need to match statements made by applicant and/or sponsor. Mismatch is usually grounds for refusal. However, given the global pandemic the situation with your friend may be considered peculiar. I would expect that it should suffice if statements made prior to the rescheduled Biometrics appointment clearly explained the reason for the deferment. A cause for worry should be if the reason for the visit is static such that it was only feasible in April but for visits that are flexible, his case should not be negatively impacted. These are my opinion and not a hard and fast rule. |

twojul: Hello everyone. Please is there a way to know the available dates for biometrics appointment for UK visas before submitting your application? I’ve got an unused US visa that expires at the end of next month and I want to travel to the US next month for 2 weeks before the visa expires but I’m worried that when I submit my UK application online the biometrics dates will be too far like maybe 2 weeks ahead. Then before I add the time they’ll hold my passport my US visa will have expired. So please how can I see the available biometrics dates before clicking submit. Thank you. Well, the answer is No. The Biometrics portal is a third party commercial site which gov.uk directs you to once you have submitted your online visa application. You cannot access the portal until the visa application is submitted. The visa application gives you a unique GWF ref no with which you open an account with TLS - the Biometrics portal. On the flip side, if you know someone with an active UK visa application who has booked appointment for Biometrics but yet to attend, they could log in and tell you what dates they could see owing that both of you are using the same centre. This is just hardwork to be honest. Besides, even if you are able to get a Biometrics day in good time, no guarantee exists as to when your application would be decided. Best bet is do the US visit first before UK application. |

Anyone that has received their visa recently please share your timeline The 15 working days is actually 3 weeks. Visa can be granted within or even outside of this window depending on the simplicity or complexity of the application. UKVI sometimes would email to inform the applicant if their application would not be decided within that 15 working days window. I applied for a family member to visit and visa granted in 9 working days, though a second time traveller. Someone else here got visa in 10 working days. 27.07.20... Online Application 06.08.20... Because i intend to answer when asked that I raised the money through savings and grants from work.(is this answer okay or is there anything I need to add)
Note: I have not had a steady job and have also mixed my jobs with business that’s how I was able to raise my money telling them this is it necessary and will they ask me for evidence becos at this point I won’t be able to gather all
Thank you. By self sponsor, I presume you mean footing the costs of your proposed trip yourself. Well, yes to your question. You need to provide evidence of your financial circumstance in your home country. Without that you can not be perceived as a genuine visitor. This usually comes in the form of employment letter, your bank statements and payslips. You must provide the sources of funds you claim is accessible by you. |

graceodini: But what about those of us that initially filled our forms before the lockdown and stated in the form we are staying for 10 days only. Had biometrics after lockdown I believe this is the reason why many applications before lockdown are still pending as most applications have reasons for travel now obsolete. We do not know the answers. DMC ought to find common grounds to make the best decisions on applications. People that had Biometrics first week of Aug are already picking up their passports. Regarding staying in the UK for 10 days, less than the 14 days self isolation period; I want to be positive and believe it should not negatively impart applications. The 14 days things is advisory and would not be policed. |

Pieaa: Please in their application for tourism ,are we mandated to include the 14 days quarantine in our application. And will it be okay if I book a hotel as prove of accommodation? I do not know what u mean by '14 days quarantine in our application'. Tourism is a route under visitor visa and shouod be the General Visitor Visa route. A lot depends on your budget and your main reason for coming to the UK. Currently when you arrive in the UK, u self isolate for 14 days and that means being in a single location/property for the first 14 days. If you plan to come for a duration of 14 days or less, you might not be seen as a genuine visitor as no one would ordinarily come to the UK to be locked up in a house all through the duration of their visit. Regarding hotel accommodation, you can use hotel accommodation if you do not have a UK sponsor inviting you. |

Docs such as the referral letter, the data capture page generated by the IOM office and the other white colored print out? I hope this is not for a UK visit, as you are only required to do TB test if you are gonna be in the UK for longer than 6 months at any visit. UKVI is not interested in any other infections but TB, so they require just the TB certificate. Do not complicate things with irrelevant uploads. |

oyin000000: Good evening house. I want to clarify something. When you apply to renew your visit visa does the validity of the new one start on the date you specified or immediatley after the one you have expires? A lot of people use the word 'renewal' and that can be confusing sometimes. These are independent applications which accrue to your travel history. When you apply for a UK visit visa, u state when you plan to travel. If successful, the visa would have a start date prior to your proposed date of travel. The new visa start date does not follow the 'validity till' date of the expired visa. If your visa expired March 30 for eg and you apply for a new visa to travel Sept 30, your new visa starts a few days before Sept 30 and not March 31 |

asorts: Good afternoon.
I'm submitting an application for my parents to visit me in the UK (they have visited 3 times prior to now).
I will be financially responsible for the trip (flights, accommodation, feeding, application fees). Do they still need to provide bank statements? Dad is self employed and Mum is retired.
I intend to upload the documents required online, do they still need to take physical copies?
There are two main ways of submitting documents; Self Upload or Assisted Service. With self upload, you upload documents yourself and not take physical documents to the appointment. You only need to take supporting documents if you choose Assisted Service. It depends on how the ECO interprets the visa application, especially in deciding whether your parents are genuine visitors (meaning visitors that would leave at the end of their visit). Having a travel history to the UK would work in their favour. Have you ever invited them without including their bank statements with the visa approved? I know one who invited his mother in-law (who has never worked - a housewife) and had the visit approved but her bank statement was included. The idea of including bank statements when they are not contributing towards the cost of the trip is mostly as a tie to Nigeria. If you have sent them money within the 6 months it would show in their account statement and can also be seen as your relationship and commitment with them. |
