will it stop travellers from coming ni?
Only a national lockdown would, which is only a last resort. Now, other less severe measures are being trialled. Travellers are still coming in and going out.

Good day house,
When I picked up my Visa, a letter was alongside it and it stated in the letter that I should pick up my BRP within 10 days of arriving the UK.
But the rules says to isolate for 14 days after arrival. So can my dad pick up the BRP on my behalf?

There are rumours the UK might go into a 2 week lockdown soon giving the increasing no. of cases. At the moment, the rule of 6 prevents more than 6 people from gathering. There are some local lockdowns or curfews like in some parts of West Midlands.

To be honest with you, no one is policing the 14 day isolation. However, to be law abiding and guiltless you can nominate someone but you must fill out the nomination form online, which takes about 5 days to process. Use the link attached here and click on the green nominate button. Do it right away. Pay attention to what your dad must have.

Good evening gurus in the house, pls does anyone know when the 14 days self isolation starts when traveling to the Uk. Am going to write an exam And I don’t want to stay more than 16 days. Secondly any ideal on how to get flights with reasonable prize, the prizes I saw was not encouraging at all. I would have love to spend only 7 days, travel write the exams and come back but the pandemic won’t let me.
14 days isolation starts the day you land in the UK.

You can try www.skyscanner.net

I don’t even know which one to believe again.
Some are saying it’s mandatory for ALL travellers & it’s the first thing they ask for. Others are saying it’s not mandatory. Let me not come and book Turkish & bear another story oh cry. Better to add that 42k COVID-19 test fee and book BA grin
famzynet:
I don't think British airways demands covid test.
Certainly BA does not require a Covid test from Nig to UK. I think what Skymoore meant was to save the 42k from Covid testing and add it to boost your flight fare in order to afford a BA ticket.

Lmaooo. Better carry blanket that you will use to sleep somewhere in the airport grin.

Jokes apart, they don’t provide accommodation.
But there’s a lounge (IGA) that you can pay for a bed (sleepod). It’s not very expensive. I can’t remember the price but about €50 for some hours or so.

Alternatively, you can get an e visa for $50 and explore Istanbul during the 24 hours. Just catch a train from the airport to downtown. At least you can add Turkey to your Travel history hehehe grin

Anyway, See the pictures below for the sleep pod.
This thing rezembuu new model cage na... whats the difference between this and a bench, lol?

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Brightingsus:
I was gonna provide an answer to this question, but then I thought of a second opinion here (for other people's experiences)

Must you travel to the UK as a visitor on the date quoted on your application form, or can you go a couple of days prior as long as the visa is valid for the dates? Eg, if one (2nd time traveller) quoted Oct 3 as planned departure date and visa has validity from Sept 27, can they travel Sept 28?

Remember, application form usually asks for 'planned' departure and return dates.

Hi Guys, I just booked a flight from Lagos to London . I would like to confirm from those who travelled to London recently if BA airline / UK requires Covid-19 test. Thank you.
Rheminix:
yes you do its mandatory.
https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/incident/coronavirus/entry-requirements
This is info for travellers leaving UK to Nig and not Nig to UK. Covid test is required before u board a flight anywhere in the world to go to Nig, but not required to depart Nig.

I thought they said planes would be limited to 200 passengers..

No. The earliest you can apply is 3 months before your proposed departure.

I think so
I don't think so. I think you need to take a PCR covid test and test negative within 72 hours prior to leaving a foreign country on your way to Nigeria. When you get to Nig you do another one.

Hello Justwise and other Gurus in the house.Pls its over 28 day that i cancelled my visa application and requested for a refund,up till now i have not gotten a refund from ukv.The only response i got was a mail on 3rd of August acknowledging my request and that i will be notified if my request is successful after that, there has no been any response.Pls,how do i reach them?
I was in your current shoes. First off, I hope you cancelled 5 days (or more) before your initial Biometrics appt day.

I cancelled an applicant's visit visa application on July 27. I counted 28 calendar days from then and no refund. I emailed them through https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/app/international/payment/language/English . It costs £5.48 to do this and you don't pay for subsequent emails on the same query. They replied next day and requested a few details, like name of applicant, type of visa, amount paid, etc. I provided those and got nothing back. I replied to the same email chain and then they got back and said refunds are within 28 'working' days. Eventually the refund was paid on August 30.

This is to encourage you that refunds take a while. I also tried calling them on 00 44 203 481 1736 but no one answered. This no. costs over £1 per min to call.

If one has a 2/5 year visa can one be practically living in the Uk for that period? Say spend 6 months leave for 1 month, go back and spend some time there again? I don't have a 2/5 year visa. I'm just curious. What happens to those types of people? Is there a rule guiding it?
Cyberknight:
The rules allow that on paper, but in practice if you're not an elderly person or a very young person, you shouldn't do that because they will assume you're engaging in employment or something against the rules of your visitor's visa.
You can not do this. You would not be regarded as a genuine visitor and you would ruin your futures applications. There is a rule ECOs use to judge this. They check how many re-entries into the UK you make over a 12 month period, the amount of time spent on each visit and the time elasped between visits. If these amount to spending more time in the UK than your home country, you would be seen as not genuine and your future applications are likely to be refused. Simples!

Check the attached image - page 17 of Visit Guidance from www.gov.uk.

Not allowed even on paper.

Please house, how do you count the 15 working days after biometrics? Did my biometrics on the 18th and interview on the 19th. Do I count from the day of my biometrics or interview? The wait is frustrating
But the difference between the 2 days is just 24 hours or even less na. Remember, the 15 working days is advisory.

It’s not a visiting visa.
Oh, I thought the query was for a visitor visa. I think it's best for enquirers to indicate what categories of visa they seek help on. Perhaps this might have been indicated on an earlier query which i picked up late. Thanks anyways.

I only want the statement from June or july because I only made fewer transactions in August. NB money still intact, just to show transaction on the statement
You wanted statement from June or July? I didn't get that. Did you mean you wanted statements until June or July

Sorry my bad..wanted to say 30june to 1st September. Since I'm submitting the application today.
Hope I'm good to go?
That's even worse!!! You need updated account statement but make sure updating it wouldn't jeopardise your application, like additional incoming and outgoing funds and account balance.

Can one submit a statement that is morethan 28days with his application? Let's say From 30june to 1st August.
Visa application will be submitted today 1st September.

Thinking of I printing the statement tomorrow 2nd September so that the transaction on 1st will be captured.
30th June to 1st Sept is somewhat obsolete for the purpose of UK visa application, ought to be within 28 days.

Do you mean amend your appointment date? If yes, then yes you can as long as you don't wait till the appointment date (or time) for that.

I think if you test for covid-19 in the UK airport on arrival and your negative, there will be no need for 14 days self isolation.

My thoughts though....
Nope. That's a negative. No one is testing anyone at the UK airport or upon arrive in the UK. No one in the UK is interested in your test result when you come as a visitor as there is no facility for this when you arrive. You are expected to self isolate straight up.

Good afternoon house. Please I’d need the gurus in the house to help me on this. My cousin applied for a BSc course and has gotten her visa. But after much contemplations as regards to finance, she wants to go for MSc instead. Now she already has her visa, what do you advise please? Her school tuition is refundable too. Would she be able to reapply for an MSc course starting in January?
I don't see how this is an issue or am I missing something? I thought visa for education is generally called a student visa irrespective of whether it is for an undergraduate or postgraduate study...
