omicron:Yellow card for UK visit, I don’t think so |
OptimisticOne:I must stress that no one here can give you a tangible reason. When you start asking for suggestions, then you are leaning towards a questionable visa application. A reason is tangible when it is genuine, of great importance and has documented evidence. If you say you are going for an exam, you would make sure such exam exists, have paid for it and can produce exam confirmation, etc. If you say you are going for a conference, you must provide your membership documentation of any organisation affiliated with such conference, the details of it and the location, etc. If you are going for holiday, then your sewing business alone may not fly. |
OptimisticOne:First off, there are typo errors defeating a thorough understanding of your query. On surface value, I’ll answer based on your numbering. Meanwhile ideally you need a 6 months statement of account. 3 months is a gamble. 1. If you are asking if it is okay for someone else to sponsor you, it is ok and allowed provided you can clearly convince the Entry Clearance Officer why they are sponsoring you and the relationship between you two. If you are not elderly (not of retiring age), you need to carry most of the burden of your travel expenses. This shows your financial commitment in your home country. 2. You are the one to answer that question. Better be honest than make false claims that might affect your application. If you are tying your UK visit to an event, then you must prove the event exists and why you are required at such event. 3. This seems like freelance where you are self employed. If this is the core of your financial circumstance, then it may do you good to include sources of the funds in your account, like payment receipts and all. Best bet is have a corporate account and business name, then pay yourself salary from the corporate account into your personal account and use your personal account for application. To be honest, there is a lot you need to consider. Your circumstances seem a lil bit confusing. I do not even know why you had to do IELTS for a visit visa. |
OptimisticOne:Struggling to understand your question. Query sentence is not clear. |
Ontripp:Cheers to u |
opomulero:Hello. I saw that also, but I doubt the integrity of the news. Go to Turkish airline official site and there’s a mention of the countries with flights cancelled until April or so. Nigeria is not one of them. You can also use your booking details to confirm the status of your flight.
|
Suuz:This must be a renewal, right. |
Amookola:You need to be more specific with your query. You said you want to renew your visa. What visa category are you referring to? |
FYsol:It would do us a lot of good to read to understand. I just gave a screenshot of what the government site says in their rules, never my opinion. The UKVI rule lists the items not considered to decide a visa application unless the application requests for it. This means when prompted for address, then you include whatever place you intend to stay. If it is a hotel, then the hotel address. If staying with family, then the residential address. In a nutshell, hotel reservation is not a defacto. Your case required a hotel booking as that probably was where you stated you would be accommodated, then you cancelled the booking. |
giselle237:If you look at the bottom of my message you would see a disclaimer in bold text, where an application prompts.... (but thanks for the pointer) |
Larrydogged07:I would assume you mean you want your accommodation in the UK to be at 2 different hotels. Well, that is not a problem. A tourist with a visa must not stay in one location in the UK. A tourist is allowed to visit many cities in the UK as long as these days add up to the time quoted in the application. I wonder why people include hotel bookings as part of their application, not saying you should not. However, ECO does not consider documented hotel bookings to decide your application albeit you would need the address of where you would be staying in the UK at application stage and at POE. Why? A lot of the hotels offer free cancellations of bookings. An applicant could book a hotel without paying, get the reservation and use it for visa application purposes, secure the visa and cancel the booking afterwards. On the other hand, Hotel bookings would be a requirement if the application prompts (or requests) for such.

mrchemist:Emphatically yes. Bank statements up to 28 days old are accepted, but I wouldn’t advise anyone to stretch that long. |
sheriph:Hitherto there is no directive against visa applications owing to coronavirus. However it is at the discretion of flights whether to fly or cancel certain flights because of the same issue. At the moment, flights from Nigeria are not at high risk of cancellations because there is no pandemic in Nigeria. |
86TG:By a plus I assume you mean would it count in your favour? Well, if you have used the US visa and stuck to the terms, by that I mean travelled and returned legitimately and within your proposed travel dates; it could count in your favour. However, travel history is just an element out of many factors. |
tellalexander:This is dicey. If you and your daughter applied separately as 2 separate individuals, then you are good to go. However if there are odds affecting a participant of the joint application, it invariably affects the other |
graceodini:Whilst being hopeful, your friend must watch out for potential red flags.. 1. It is questionable a mere friend sponsoring a 2 week vacation for someone 2. Why is the relationship special enough to warrant such a treat? 3. Someone who is not working and has no financial tie to Nig can be perceived as a potential overstayer 4. ECO may question why the husband who the lady is dependent on financially is not the one sponsoring the trip or at least taking the most chunk of it Nevertheless there is no rule against anyone in your friend’s situation. She just has to convince the Entry Clearance Officer that she would return after the 2 weeks. Try and take care of the list above which can pose a problem. Consider the following points, which of course are not exhaustive: 1. Your friend’s husband needs to co-sponsor, possibly paying for flights. If this is the case, his bank statements must be submitted and there should be enough disposable funds to accommodate this. 2. She needs her marriage certificate and the birth certificates of all her kids in Nig. These can serve as family ties. 3. She may need some ownership of some assets, preferably in her name or joint names with her husband. These can be economic ties. 4. It is best to tie the visit to some important event; vacation may not fly 5. She needs her bank statements with regular deposits from the husband over a period of 6 months to show they are actually in a marriage, not just one off stipends 6. It may do her good to include a cover letter from her husband confirming he is aware of the trip Try to think of things that would make her return back to Nig. A house wife who probably is of working age but not working and desiring to travel to UK on a friend’s invitation and full sponsorship is a massive red flag. |
drisi:Well, this could serve as economic and financial tie to Nigeria. You would need to include the land registry or ownership documents. If you must use that account, then you may consider including a copy of the rental agreement between you and the tenant(s) or a document that shows evidence of the rents or receipts from paid rents. But these rents need to be regular and somewhat consistent. On the flip side, you must clarify the reason your employer wants to pay for your holiday flights. This is not typical of employers gesture and could be a problem. If your employee wants to pay for your flight, you do not need to state this. However you must make a reasonable budget to include flights as if you were gonna pay for these. I have just seen your feedback about your contract of paid holiday flight. I believe that would be a benefit to you and no one else accompanying you on the said flight. In this case, who pays for any other applicant travelling with you? Remember to include the letter of employment or contract stipulating such travel benefit and also get the hospital to do you a letter stating they would pay for this particular flight. Otherwise someone may assume the hospital may limit their flight offer to only Lagos to Abuja. |
drisi:Your query does not contain enough info to adequately provide you an answer. You just said there are large deposits in your account which are not from your salary although your salary shares the same account with the large deposits. The answer to your question is hence Yes and No. We do not know what the large deposits are for and the value range. The large deposits may or may not have impact on your application but best way forward is to avoid what would warrant unending explanations. If the large deposits are justifiable, meaning if you can prove the origin or the source, then you must include documented evidence of such. However, do some good to tell the house what the deposits are or were for and whether they can be traced to an origin, then you would have better responses here. |
Chijiuba:ECO is not only interested in closing balance. In fact, regularity of incoming funds is equally as important or even more important. One thing I advise people is try convincing someone around you first before the ECO. Ask a friend if you show them a bank statement that shows some incoming funds which are not monthly salaries with a written explanation, if they will believe you. That’s like your word against any odds but your words wouldn’t count much. I remember when I applied for my mother inlaw to visit me and wifey. I made her send me her 6 months bank statement. I studied all outgoing and incoming funds and backed up any claims with an explicit cover letter and paper evidence. For funds I sent to her over the course of months, I had receipts from recognised bureau with dates matching the dates the funds entered her account. This is just an example. I know you now have a clearer understanding of what went wrong. If you are thinking of waiting a while and limiting your salary account to only salaries and no gigs, do not overlook the reasons you were denied this time. Do not assume you can now have a fresh application with bank statements devoid of those gig funds and everything is ok. You must still address the gigs albeit applications are treated on their own merits. They can still refer to your rejected applications. You can still do a more thorough explanation of those gig funds and then have documented proof of all funds for your next application. |
bigtt76:All of those are now grouped under Standard Visitor Visa, whether visiting family or friends |
deept:Hello. The info you seek is on the gov.uk site. I have cut the relevant section for you. Also find the link below... https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa

funmido:Big congrats to u |
Tfree:Congratulations... enjoy the season |
oloolo:Congratulations |
funmido:Nothing to do on your part as a submitted application with Biometrics can not be amended. It only implies your application has not been possible to attract a soon enough decision; so it may take a lot longer than the published timelines to make a decision. |
TatPat:I believe the applicant can view this... |
PreciousGemRubb:Ok! Well, the most important sender's bank account is the one originating from the UK since that's where you are based. I am not sure 'GTB' will show in the deposit corner of your dad's statement. You can verify. I did the same for my mother inlaw. I was sending funds to my Nig account, then transferring to my mother inlaw. It was only my name that appeared on her statement, not my Nig account. Like I said, confirm. As for money remittance, don't you have receipts for every transaction? You should. When you send money to Nig through Bureeu de change, individuals that run the business, or Azimo, you should always ask for receipts. The receipts will contain vital information like your name as the sender, your address in the UK, date of transaction, amount sent in GBP, exchange rate and amount in NGN to be received in Nigeria. I have all my receipts. The transactions on the receipts will bear the amount sent to Nigeria which amount in GBP will reflect in your UK bank statement. I need you to verify a few things... 1. For how long did you send/have you been sending money to your dad through 'individuals'? 2. How many transactions have you done through Azimo? 3. Find out if 'GTB' shows under deposits in your dad's statements. 4. Why don't you have transaction receipts? |
PreciousGemRubb:That's no issue at all. Don't try to change the name on the transactions. You must explain the transactions and highlight the fact that your name on your dad's statements is your maiden name; then include your marriage certificate. If you have been consistently doing this way of money transfer for like 6 months, then you would need to include your GTB bank statement as well as your UK bank statements. Highlight your UK bank statement with asterisk on the line of each transaction showing the amount leaving your account to go to your GTB. Then highlight your GTB statements with asterisk on the line of each transaction coming in from the UK reflecting same amount. Then include your payslips amongst other things you have. Then mention all these in your cover letter. This is how to explain origin of funds. Don't forget to include your dad's bank statements too. With tact you will find out that making a Uk visa application is actually easy. |
PreciousGemRubb:To reduce the amount of explanation to do, you can simply go to any branch of his bank (dad being present) and change personal details. Amend the address and print a new bank statement. He could do well by going with any ID with the new address to the bank. Consistency is key. |
Adimorah:You said u are yet to see your partner? To be frank, your chances are slim. Others may say you don't stand any chance. So many things would count against you. First thing is get your spouse to visit you in Nigeria first. |
