Good morning nairalanders, i booked a flight with the Turkish airline and i got a date oct 6 which is on a Tuesday, the news reaching me is that, NCAA, prior to easing of our airport had already scheduled airlines to operate at certain days of the week, ok that settled. My question goes thus, how will it be rescheduled to another date. Pls help
I believe since the airline accepted the booking, they will randomly reschedule flights for passengers on different dates. If possible, you could manage your booking and choose a date from days allocated to Turkish Airlines, that is if this is free. Otherwise you may want to contact the airline directly.

hello guys,i am worried about this issue i filled a uk visit visa for my mum i paid since like two weeks ago...she is to go by late december for christmas break... after payment and redirected to tls the upload bottom link didnt popup on the tls platform and even date for self service didnt show up..i quess i am not getting anything wrong?
The upload button will not appear until you have booked a Biometrics appointment. Sometimes you log on and don't find dates for the next 2 to 3 months. It is normal. Keep refreshing the page. Later in the day or within the next 2 or 3 days or so, days will just appear like magic. I have seen this happen.

Letterhead?

I mean the applicant letter.. the letter by the applicant to the entry clearance officer
No, it is not on a letterhead. It would be a standard formal letter, typed and signed by the applicant. Most people address it to the Deputy British High Commission in Warrington Crescent

pls oo, with this 14days isolation period, where will the applicant state that he will be staying if going for tourism? will he state it on the application that will be staying in his already booked hotel or will he be provided place of isolation when he enter UKhuh
Place of isolation is a measure geared towards limiting spread of the virus and will not ordinarily be on the application form. There is a separate online form you fill to provide your journey and contact details from 48 hours before you are due to arrive the UK.

For tourism, u might have to use your hotel should you not have family or friend to isolate at their place. You must remember the UK is serious with this and reports have it that visitors have faced serious issues at POE in the UK including being turned away.

will this affects airlines from flying.
If the strike goes ahead, then it's more likely flights would be affected. I am not certain anyway.

Thanks so much. I appreciate. In the form it said contact of the person that can be called if you fall sick in the uk...does that mean a contact of a person in Nigeria or in the UK. Answer needed pls. Thank you.
You know the form should be filled only from 48 hours to the date you are due to arrive in the UK. If they wanted a particular location of contact, they would have specified. UK contact should be preferable. What about those with no family or friend in the UK and coming purely as tourists, they still have to provide some contact of which it would be non UK contact.

Brightingsus, please respond.
Self isolating is not a factor of hotel accommodation. Even if you live in England, coming back into the country you need to isolate irrespective of where you intend to stay in the UK. I have colleagues that travelled to different countries on holiday, they were all hurrying back to the UK to beat the self isolation start date.

I can't remember the history with your visa. Usually you can use your visa if it is still valid, but i do not know if you quoted you were coming to the UK for an event that needs to be held around a particular period.

Thanks for your response. I filled 10days in my form but I will be able to only stay for 6days because my leave remains only 2weeks in November for this year. Visa will expire in March 2021. Can I still go in January or early February? I also got this from gov.uk website which says IF YOU ARE STAYING LESS THAN 14DAYS IN THE UK YOU NEED TO SELF ISOLATE FOR THAT PERIOD YOU ARE STAYING FOR.
Yes, that is correct but the reason for coming to the UK becomes defeated. What is the point of booking a flight, coming to the UK to be bound by the walls of a house for the whole of your stay? You get to POE and you are asked why you have come to the UK, what do you say? They ask you where would you isolate, what do you say?

UK CURFEW BEGINS
This is not as bad as it sounds. Bars and restaurants now close at 10pm as per the curfew. A bit of time management and adjustment needed here really...

Please what about those that are going for less than 14 days. Are we going to be allowed in.
If you planned to stay in the UK for 6 days, add 14 days to it totalling 20. Your business should be after the 14 day period.

Hello house. I will be travelling to the UK December 6th....Turkish airline booked already. I have seen post of no covid 19 test required. I am going to visit my uncle for Xmas and new year. Will the 14 days isolation be done in his house ? Cos I already told them I would be staying with him. I need answers urgently pls....thanks house
The 14 days would be at the place u go straight to from the airport. From 48 hours to your arrival in the UK, you ought to have completed the Journey and Contact Details form online. You could provide your uncle's address as where you would be isolating.

For Turkish Airlines, u dont need Covid-19 test but u must make arrangements for 2 weeks quarantine to show at the UK Airport (LHR) when u arrive. As I'm writing this now, someone is being held at Heathrow Airport since yesterday because she is going for 9 days vacation, tourist and she has no one in the UK, they called the hotel if they can quarantine her and d hotel said no and now they told her that they will cancel her visa.
Huuhhh. That's rather harsh

Hey guys, this has probably been asked a few times, but there is so much conflicting info. Is a COVID test required for those departing Nigeria and flying to the UK? Please those that have flown out should help with accurate responses.
Yes, it has been asked. UK as a country does not require a Covid test. What you need to do is provide your journey and contact details at https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk from 48 hours to your arrival in the UK.

However, negative covid test is airline and destination specific of which destination is ruled out here. You must check with your airline as some transit flights may require it owing to transiting through countries that may require it. BA, for eg, does not require it.

So this below is what I picked up from the FAQ ...its all dependent on your Airline and or your destination country. All the best.
Yeah, that's the info we are privy to. It is airline and destination country dependent. I was misinformed you are asked for the test before you are allowed to get inside the airport from street level

Hello all. I know Covid test is not required to board BA to London from Nigeria. I have someone due to travel from Lagos to London soon and info reaching us says you must have Covid-19 negative test cert even before going through the gate at the MMIA Lagos. Is this true? Who has travelled recently? I am aware this is airline specific, but are you asked for it at the gate?

Don’t mislead people with false information! A negative result is only needed in Nigeria when you’re arriving in the country!

For departing from Nigeria, you do not need a negative result unless your airline or destination country requires it! Scroll back to few pages, people have flown from lagos to uk without a test result!
Thanks for your feedback. I wanted to see if there are people who might have faced issues or bullying.

Yes this is correct and you're required to fill in your details and itinerary prior to arriving MMIA either for departure out of the country or arrival using the URLs below:-

Details: https://nitp.ncdc.gov.ng/splash-screen
Payment Code: https://saferports.com/my-traveller-record/

What happens at your destination country is solely the business of that country. This means that though UK may not require a negative certificate on arrival, Nigeria requires that you are negative before departing the country and also on arrival from outside the country. I hope this helps.
Thanks for your feedback. I think those links are mainly for returnees or passengers whose flights or destinations countries require them. I wanted to know people's experiences at MMIA.
