Hello Oga Brightingsus can you please help me with this issue. Please
august house,
My auntie was refused a Uk visa in April because the counselor claims My Uncle in the Uk inviting her couldn't prove enough ties to her to show his motivation for inviting her. Question is How do we prove that?
Secondly we now want my younger uncle (locally based) to now sponsor her as he is also well to do (Managing director of a reputable bank) and owns several landed properties. Question 2-How feasible is that?
My Auntie works with the Non formal eduactional sector and earns N121996.77 (taken some loans so ends up with N77264.62 monthy now) Question 3.. Does he chance of getting a UK tourist visa if we are to reply look bright and feasible? 1. What is the relationship between your older uncle and your aunt ? 2. What docs were used to prove the relationship? 3. What is he purpose of the UK visit? 4 We want to see the refusal letter, remember to cross out delicate details like name and application ref. 5. Your younger cousin sponsoring does not help much. It's not always about the person sponsoring,so they can have billions and applicant might still be refused. Reverting back to your younger uncle might be seen as a desperate move. You need to address the concerns in the refusal, and not seeking alternative avenues to get into the UK. Just to further help you juxtapose, see your uncle as Mr A and your aunt as Mrs B and yourself as a community judge. You being completely neutral with no background knowledge of Mr A or Mrs B and based on the info presented before you (documents submitted to show relationship ties), do you have a strong reason to believe Mr A and Mrs B are related? Also is there a justifiable reason why Mrs B needs to visit Mr A |

MabraO: Good morning house Pls I would like get the processed for U.K. Visa Though I don't have any paid job yet nor a registered company. Finished my nysc 2years ago. I learnt barbing for a year didn't get any certificate after and haven't opened my own shop. I Applied for Ireland with d help of my mum but was refused due to some false info that was put down by her nd some conflicting info on my passport. As a result of that I am having the passport corrected to my original info. Hopefully next month it would be out.
Pls what can I do. Paste the refusal letter here, but cross out your personal details like name and application ref. This is the way we can actually understand the refusal. Telling us a summary of the refusal in your own words can't really say much. |

Tamaize: @ brightingsus. I was the sponsor there was no son mentioned in the application. This was an error from the ukvi. Yeah I do agree her totally monthly income was not good, i didn't realise when filling the form.
They said my mom has dependent who she gives money to this is wrong she has no dependent, she earns N200.000 equivalent to £430 so she spend £280 a month she doesn't have any dependent all her children are grownup. Is only her and my dad
Yes my account balance had £8,000.00 I included 6 months bank statement showing my income my British passport, sponsorship later and other relevant information. moms had N700,000 in her bank statement was also included If I reapply saying she has no dependent?
I'm thinking of reapplying don't know if it will be too soon. Should I leave it for 6 months before applying? Thanks Yeah sorry, I was thinking you were male. It might be an error while filling the online application. Take the advice from @Ekpotek. Look at the application form if you have a copy. It could be that your mum's children were mentioned as dependants. There is a part that asked for children that depended on the applicant. If you had done full sponsorship, N700,000 is more than enough a balance for your mum. I did full sponsorship for my mother inlaw who is also 64 years old. She only had N140,000 in her account. She got visa in 3 weeks. This was last month. |

Tamaize: Hello everyone, I have. Been following this trend for all over 3 months. I have been silent. Made an application for 6 months visitors visa for my mom. biometrics was done since 14/6/17 I only got a decision 8/9/17 nearly three months.
I was really disappointed my mom was refused. I was sponsoring the application. I did say she has £500 as her own spending money. Unfortunately my own income wasn't not taking into consideration. It was only my moms. I did offer to spend £1500 To support her
I want some advice please I am thinking of reapplying. I want to fully sponsor this time I'm not sure if is a good idea to reapply immediately? My bank statement has £ 8,00.00 in it my moms has N700.00 I included all required supporting documentation. I really do not know that her account was going to be use in making a decision. As I thought I was the sponsor My mom is 64
I will be attaching the refusal latter I need some advice in future application please Many thanks Could you confirm how much you say you have in your account and that for your mum Is it £800 or £8000 for you? Again did you say your mum has seven hundred naira in her bank account The mistake was from you. You should have done full sponsorship. The refusal letter also mentioned a daughter of your mums which I suppose is your sister. I do not quite understand who is the UK sponsor here. You can not get a 64 year old woman who has £39 a month after outgoings to part sponsor a UK trip. Haba... Anyway clear the air here and you will get constructive advice. |

If yes, will I type it in the space provided for any additional information online or I will write with ink after printing out my application form? Thank you for prompt clarification. Use the additional info section of the applation form to address anything that needs clarificarion. You can use a separate sheet like a letter (written in ink) for more indept explanations since the section for additional info is limited to a number of characters. |

Michaeldonnelly: Hello Good People,
I recently got married to my wife who is a divorcee with three children. She lives in the U.K and I live in Nigeria. We met early last year while I was on a trip there. We intend to apply for a spouse visa for me to join her over there. I would like to know if the application should be done in Nigeria or she should use an immigration lawyer in the U.K to apply on our behalf. And also what are our chances and is there anything other than the usual that should be included with our application. Thank you all. The applicant is the one applying basically, so it should originate from Nigeria. However since the application is online, they can apply for you over in the UK and act like it's coming from Nigeria. Go to the spouse visa section of nairaland and post further questions. |

megababajo: Good morning House,
Sure you had a good weekend.
Please can someone confirm the correct link to standard visitor visa application. I started with visa4uk and then someone said it should be gov.uk. I started that and somehow I was redirected back to visa4uk. Which is the right one please?
Secondly I am doing a different application for my mother who has visited UK severally and during her previous visa renewals, she never had to submit supporting documents. She used agents at these times. Now that I am filling her application, I see she has to submit bank statements and all. Do we have to do this or is there another way to this? Yes, you have to submit bank statements alongside other supporting documents. The onus is on you (or the applicant really) to prove to the Entry Clearance Officer that the applicant would leave the UK at the end of their visit which is within the visa validity. This is shown through documents supplied which show that the applicant is naturally settled in their home country. Bank statements are just a part of these documents. There are two sites on which one can apply for a visit visa; the old system and the new system. Each of them has a unique platform but they both mean the same thing. shrinkhal: Just to share with you some good news. Applied for Tier 2 and Tier 2 Partner with Wifey. Got the vignettes
No family photos, no whatsapp whatever, no email or phone conversation, no letter from work or grandad, no cover letter, no payslips, no rental agreements.
Advice; just submit what you've been asked to. Nothing more nothing less.
I submitted Application form, CoS with maintenance , TB certificate, Police report, IELTS results, Marriage certificate, International passport.
Wife submitted (for dependent visa) same with recent bank statement and ID card - drivers license (showing her address). She didn't include IELTS or CoS.
Hope that helps someone
Thanks Inasmuch as this is good news, what works for you may not work for another. Let us not encourage complacency. Having more than enough (which is genuine and can be defended) is always better than not having enough. Without interviews ECOs judge based on information supplied by applicants. People have been turned down for not adequately clarifying things and I am yet to see anyone who's marked down for having more than enough. When someone can be painstaking to obtain a document, it's always good to push to get such rather than being complacent. |

ekpotek: You are free to reapply anytime as long as you have the money to pay for the application. @Davr, You can apply anytime you have the cash for the application. But you must address some things. You have to explain to the ECO the details of the burial which you talked about, not only in words but in evidence. I suppose the funeral was in the UK. You would have to provide details like the death certificate and list out your role during the funeral. Do not focus on providing a generic overview of the activities at the funeral. You must list your day to day activities as an individual and why your presence was needed in the UK all that time. People sometimes overstay when it's practically inevitable, e.g. on medical grounds when it's not medically advisable to travel. All you need is provide compelling reason and evidence. You have to provide details of how you were fed and taken care of all through the overstaying period. |

Davr: Good mornings all . Here are the excepts from the refusal letter : "The decision I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of paragraph(s) V4.2 because •I understand that family visits are important and I have therefore carefully considered all of the elements of your application, weighing the importance of your proposed visits against the requirements of the immigration Rules. •I have considered your application in the context of your evidenced personal circumstances and funding by your partner in the UK. You also state that you propose to visit the UK for 2 month. You have further stated that your sponsor will meet the costs of your proposed visit. However: •I note that you have previously been issued entry clearance to the UK; most recently .....for 2 years. U.K. Immigration revealed you stayed in the UK for a total of 310 days...It has not been explained why you decided to remain for so long in the UK... •I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds available to cover your costs whilst in the UK without working or accessing public funds. Your application has therefore been refused under paragraphs V4.2 (a) (c) and (e). Any future UK applications you make will be considered on their individual merits, however you are likely to be refuse unless the circumstances of your application change." I accept under the circumstances given I made a mistake. But I feel the ECO should not have doubted my sponsorship with all the proofs I submitted. I can understand the fact that my overstaying was the only major reason I was denied. But I will just like to know if I'm still permitted to apply next time and how must time should I wait till I do so. I'm under the impression that I should wait at least 6 a month. Please I would appreciate all suggestions and advice. Once again I cent that I committed an offence.
PS: I hope I have posted my contributions in the right mode, as I'm still trying to figure out how to post and reply to comments. It will be appreciated if someone explained the process to me. Thanks again . Thanks. My God.... u spent 310 days in the Uk as a visitor. That is the major reason. You broke the immigration rule and they don't smile at that. There's no way your recent application would have been granted, my dear. As a visitor you are not allowed to spend beyond 6 months at a go in the UK on any visit visa. You spent nearly a year. Even if you are a friend to the Prime Minister and have all the funds in England, you are not allowed to overstay. In your next application you must provide a compelling reason at why you overstayed. If not you might attract a ban and you have given the ECO the impression that you are not a genuine visitor. |

ekpotek: I might be wrong. I think the immigration laws allows you to apply for a spouse dependent visa if your wife is in the UK on a study visa. I do not believed she as indefinite stay since you have mentioned her working hour limits. People with indefinite stay are not limited by maximum work hours. You need to clarify her visa category. Yes, I think the applicant needs to first clarify what visa category his wife has. With indefinite leave, one can study and do 1 million hours if they so desire... |

Davr: A pleasant evening to everyone of the forum. This is my first time on the forum as well as a new member..and I'm pleased that I can finally be heard after several attempts to post question. So my issue is about my U.K visa application that was refused a couple weeks ago. In July I re-applied for a 2 years visa. When I eventually received my passport, included was a refusal letter stating that (1) I had overstayed but I also noticed that the ECO didn't acknowledge the fact I have a sponsor (boyfriend) who has been responsible for all my past travels, accommodation and finances . (2) the letter also stated that I have no "right of appeal" nor "administrative review" thus any "future applications will be based on their individual merits". Or if the circumstances of my application changes. I would really appreciate if anybody can explain this better to me. I understand that in this case I will likely have to put in a fresh application at some point in the future, but can someone also advise me when is the appropriate time frame to do so. I sincerely hope that I have made my points clear enough. Thanks in advance for your advise/response. Did u ever post the refusal letter here or the details of it at least? I can't remember. Without details of the refusal no one can advise you. Also, your point on your boyfriend being responsible for you does not mean a thing with regards to you overstaying. What validity did the previous visa carry and how much time did you spend in the UK? If you could throw more light on what you meant by your boyfriend sponsoring you, it would be great. |

If this is the case, you need to go to spouse visa section to make your enquiries. Your wife having an indefinite leave allows you to join her. However given your wife's circumstance as a student I doubt if this is the right time. In any case your wife needs to be earning at least £18,600 a year and in full time employment. She must have good accommodation to house you, etc. |

kokoboy4life: Thanks so much for the reply, my appointment is on Monday and I have already printed out the bank statement of 3months,I will support with payslips of 6months. This is risky, very risky. It could work, it might not work. Inasmuch as payslips are as important as bank statements, only the bank statements will explain your circumstances as they bear your inflow AND OUTFLOW. The ECO needs to establish your financial circumstances and how money flows through your account and if you are well established in your home country. They judge this by your account balance and how much you have left every month after the outflows. 6 months payslips and 6months bank stammers are good. My personal advise is log into you application account online and shift your appointment date. You can do this up to 24 hours before your appointment. Within this time you would have got your full 6 months bank statements. Better still, today is Thursday; you can go to any branch of your bank today, or even tomorrow, and obtain full 6 months bank statements. It's better to have more documents than too few. My advice... |

The only one required should you be granted the visa is the one you took as part of your biometrics. |

Shawnbose: . He is not applying for settlement visa, so that's the wrong place to post I made the same mistake and I was refused because I applied under wrong type of visa. He should look for details in regards to TIER 2 visa and Tier 2 dependant visa . You can't apply for a settlement visa cos you are not settled in the uk. Settled pple are those that have British passport, refugees and have indefinite leave to remain. Don't make the same mistake I made What are you talking about though What has tier 2 got to do with the person's situation? The applicant says he is to be married to a British citizen after which he would like to relocate to join her. Settlement visa is for those who are outside UK and have the rights to join their spouses (legally resident in the UK). You are the one who didn't read the post or the post was ghost mode in your eyes. The original question was posted by Shilex, talking about a British woman coming over to Nigeria to marry him. shrinkhal: Hello guys,
Applied for Tier 2 General on the 16 of August, 2017. Also applied for Tier 2 General visa up yo 3 years for Wifey same time but we had different appointment times on the same day.
TLScontact assessed us as a group and sent off on the 18 of August.
From the timing of the emails received regarding the status of our application. It appears our applications are treated separately which worries me.
I have received an email on the 8 of September that a decision has been made regarding my application and another email to come pick my passport at TLScontact VI lagos. Nothing yet about my wife.
Why were the applications separated? Aren't they supposed treat the application together? The strength of our application is in my own application package I think. I worried.
Any ideas? Bro, group appointments or submission is only at the TLS. The grouping is for TLS to send off your documents together without separating your documents. However each application is treated on its own merit and there's nothing like group decision on a Uk visa application. Your circumstances would be considered and there's no way you and your wife would have the same circumstances even if you are twins. Your individual personal circumstances are not same as your supporting documents. So when checks are carried out, results would not come at the same time for all the applicants from a group submission. |

At what stage do I need to pay for visa fee? After or before submission of online application. And after how many days would I be called for submission of documents Payment of visa fee is during online apppication, in fact the last part, and is prior to submission. During your application you would be prompted to choose your TLS appointment day/biometrics/submission of documents. No one contacts you for any submission of documents. You choose this yourself as part of the application. You would see available days from where you would pick, could be within the next few days. |
