NGpatriot: If truly she lost her son in any unfortunate incident, I sympathize for her loss.
Having said that, we don't know the background story per how he died, where he was, what killed him, was he actually at the toll gate, who broke the news to her and what proof was shown to her to confirm that her son actually died, where is his body and how exactly was his death confirmed and ultimately who conducted the necessarily autopsy to determine the manner of death.
The gathering and the shouting and noise about keep sharing, keep sharing, keep sharing sounds more like people trying to spread fake news and propaganda, even their utterances doesn't sound like they just lost a son, it all sounds more like anti Nigerian propaganda.
One even called Nigeria a shitholde, sounds like these ipobbs are working overdrive to come up with any kind of wearped and insane narratives to pursue their fake news and destructive agenda.

jidamsel43: Those that started the movement #endsars initially had genuine interest to stop police brutality against innocent citizens. The movement has been hijacked by criminals and elements of disobedient. If SARS is disbanded, does it mean that police will abandon the fight against cyber crime? Another formation can be established with a different name and can be more brutal than SARS. The attack on security agencies on the disguise of protest is unacceptable and uncalled for. Nigerians have right to protest against government but government also has the responsibility to curb breaking down of law and order. If you can't give us an example of what you mean it means you are a paid agent of the Nigerian Police. |

StagethemTVee: While we are asking for SARS to be scrapped, we should also be suggesting alternatives to armed robbery menace. This has to a be a balanced discussion since many people are against its reforms. This campaign is very similar to what happened in the US when protesters were asking the police be defunded. When you defund the police, how will they perform their duties of protecting the citizens? My brother I sincerely believe you on this. You know that DSS is like our FBI and they can do a better job than SARS but the government like to suffer Nigerians when they know the right thing to do. |

myBraine: Okay.
But all in all, that shouldn't stop us from loving our country and doing our best to be a law abiding citizens.
As for those celebrities, don't mind them, they spent more time on Twitter than in their respective studio sessions. Good songs and lyrics are scarce these days so there's nothing for them to do again rather than poking into national affairs that doesn't directly concern them.
I was even expecting them to encourage the youths to study more, be a great thinker and harness our agricultural prowess by venturing into farming. I was expecting at least, 70% of youths to be in possession of hoes and cutlass rather than expensive gadgets.
Imagine if the youths are working in the farm and spending more of their time on trees and inside bushes, will Sars still be killing them?
What do I know anyway There is time for everything and EVEN FOOLS knows that if you don't then go to the Fools and learn that this is the time to END SARS and not to play music........Opunu. |

Politics › Re: Edo Election: Excitement Galore At PDP Situation Room In Benin by broadman20: 11:57am On Sep 20, 2020 |
Built2last: Those who are mocking ex Lagos Governor - Akinwunmi Ambode - on the basis of the Edo election are missing the point.
First, the Edo governorship election was more of a plebiscite on Adams Oshiomole than a contest between the PDP governor Godwin Obaseki and the APC Pastor Ize Iyanmu. So in essence, this isn't Obaseki defeating Iyanmu. This is Edo people retiring the former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole for his overbearing god father status. In fact, there is a sense in which it can be argued that the APC candidate could have won more votes if not for the liability that Adams brought to his campaign. When you add that ill-adviced video by Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT), you would understand that the duo of Oshiomole and the Lagos BAT brought nothing but 'minus' to the APC candidate. That video of a man who foisted a semi-literate 16th century-brained coup plotter on a 21st century 'nation' only to turn around to address himself as "the leader of all democrats" rankled so many people and helped cement the resolve of Edo people against the APC.
So in a nutshell, what Edo people have shown is that no force, no matter how powerful can undermine the resolve of a determined people.
Lagos State under Ambode was an entirely different case because for one, it's always difficult, if not impossible, to rescue slaves who see their chains as some beautiful bracelet. The Lagos electorates, with the exception of a few, are quite in love with one man determining their fate. Or so it would seem. So there was very little an Ambode could have done without the people. Not with Tinubu's strong hold on all the party structure in the state, Asorock support as well as a well oiled non-state actor such as the Lagos State Road Transport Union ever ready to act as his stand-by instrument of violence each time the need arises. Or why do you think the road transport union in Lagos is treated as the 4th arm of govt? Who do you think flew the union leader MC Oluomo abroad for treatment after he was wounded in a pre-election clash in the run-up to the 2019 poll?
To uproot Tinubu from Lagos will require a combination of factors including federal might. This might just happen in 2023 if the signs are anything to go by.
But for now, Edo is indeed not Lagos. Just as Lagos is certainly not Edo. You are percent correct and I believe you on this. |
