TESTIMONY TIME If I had 10thousands tongues, it still won't be enough... NAREKELEMO It's not PR or ITA but it sure feels like one of them. Deliverance has come from IELTS. 1st attempt: June 2nd- LRWS 8, 6.5, 7.5, 7.5 MOD Remark but came back unchanged 2nd attempt: July 7th- LRWS 8.5, 6, 6.5, 8 MOD 3rd attempt: September 8th- LRWS 8.5, 7, 7, 8 MOD What did I do different, I decided to trust God completely & put aside my over confidence. No exam has humbled me like this not even the almighty Bar Finals. CRS is 450, taking off my clothes & shoes no need for swimming trunk. |

Thanks for your response. boundlessjoy: Hi dear, since you accessed your credential with IQAS, I want to believe that you accessed only your LLB. If that is the case, then the date on your ll.b certificate is what you should put as the date you “became qualified to practice this profession”. I’m sure the date on your LL.B necessarily precedes the date you started working at your PPA.
Notwithstanding that in real sense, date of call to bar is the actual date you qualified as a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, bear in mind that in this Canny waka, the day you got qualified to practice your profession is the date on your Degree certificate, in this case your LLB.
I hope this helps. |

I have used the CRS to simulate my score & am done with IQAS. I have more than a year work experience. My concern is that I started working (NYSC) before I was called to Bar. I don't know if it will affect the one year experience I intend to gain points on. I understand they ask when you started working & I have read somewhere on the thread where someone said we should put the date on the CTB certificate. I want to know if IRCC counts from the date on the Certificate or on the reference letter. I think lawyers in the house will understand better. Homguy: please use the CRS calculator and see how your points add up. Then you can decide if you should go ahead with the application right away or wait to add more experience in order to boost your score. https://www.canadavisa.com/comprehensive-ranking-score-calculator.html
Also endeavor to use IQAS while assessing tour Law degree for max points as often advised on this thread. |

My people please am still waiting. Lawyers, elders, bikonu answer me. Thank you bronze25: Good day everyone, please I have again with another concern. I'll just give a breakdown of my background.
I graduated in 2014 but my certificate was issued in 2015, ECA states 2015.
I finished law school in 2015, went for service same hear October, but was called to Bar in December.
I intend to claim points from my service year (just one year work experience) as a professional
Will my application pull through considering the fact that I started working in October but was issued a professional certificate in December? How do I go about it?
Your advise will be highly appreciated. Thanks |

diamondextra: dearest one, i would advise you to PLEASE correct the date to meet up with the 1 year requirement. These people are not joking one bit because your ITA is going to be re-calculated after submission and if the number of years of experience you claimed doesnt add up to what is in the documements you presented, the ITA score will drop.....which could in turn affect your eligibility especially if it falls below the ITA score for that round. This is exactly the situation my spouse and I have found ourselves in, infact we submitted our application since feb and uptill now have ordered about 3 gcms notes and everything still says "eligbilty under review" just because of the singular mistake of omitting one month from a year's experience on his refrence letter. Please just make sure you cross your "t"s and dot your "i"s before you submit. Am already working on getting another letter. Thanks for the advise & for sharing your experience. I pray God overturns every mistake in your application for your good. Wishing a favorable outcome. |

Good morning fam. Please I have a little concern with regards to my reference letter.
Firstly, the words 'full time' was not stated in the letter but the number of working hours (40hours/week) was mentioned.
Secondly, I don't know if the date mentioned qualifies for one year (eg 23 March 2017- 11 March 2018).
These two issues have been bothering me. Please I would appreciate your kind advise. Thanks |
