Thank you for your swift response
SOP is used quite a lot.
2. Based on the admission letter, tuition, hostel and feeding and personal living expense will be about 23k CAD
3. She is paying the money into his account and writing a gift deed letter in which she also states that the 2m naira will be annual, that is she will give him 2m for 4 years, till his program is complete
4. Also, we print all the forms and submit at VFS in ikeja right?

Thanks
SOP -statement of purpose, SOA- statement of account. Do you have dependants? Wife kids? If not the cash along side your investments would be ok. Since your aunt is paying into his account, I guess you don't really have any issue there and I would also advise you deposit the amount you intend to support his studies into his account.
4. It all depends on the route you want to use, paper or online. If its paper you submit all the required cic forms along with the necessary documents to VFS. Its not at ikeja, its at ikate.

Good evening house,

Please i need all the help i can get. My younger brother just got admission for his undergraduate program in Canada. I am the sole sponsor of the program

Basically just need heads up on how to go about this, i saw some forms to fill on CIC website. do we print and fill dem or is it electronic? how do i even create a file for him. He is 17 years old

1. I scanned through the tread most of the information is relating to masters and the likes plus there a quite a number of abbreviations, i catch up fast just require help
2. I have investment (near cash like t-bills and investments with investment companies) and cash to the tune of 11 million and an aunt wants to give a 2 million naira gift deed for his education. Should this money be paid into my account or his? and is this balance sufficient for his visa application? And she will write a letter for the gift deed
3. we intend to pay 50% of the fee before application
4. Our late father has a building worth about 20 m can we include details of it

Please just a point in the right direction
Cic forms are electronic,
1. List the abbreviations you don't get. The Thread applies to UG not just masters.
2. You didn't state the tuition, that would determine if the cash you have will fly. Its best she pays the money into his account & possibly write a letter of sponsorship.
3. You can pay.
4. Of course you can.

The gurus in the house would give detailed answers.

Please House i need advice. My Maternal Uncle is my sponsor and he resides in the States. I am a silent reader here, and i have read in past threads that to make a good solid case with the VO,its advisable your sponsor transfers the money into your account. Now with the challenge of the CBN forex policy, it would be a nightmare for my Uncle to transfer about $26,000 USD to my account. Secondly, since i would still have to change this money back to CAD. OR how can i go about this, i am looking for a suitable way to satisfy the VO,without giving my Uncle headache and being frustrated at the same time.
I don't see the need of you changing the money to CAD. Let him pay the money into your dorm account.

I don't understand this CIC people. My friend told me that she was delayed because of insufficient funds. She paid a year tuition fee, and submitted her dad's statement of account with balance of 20m and she is his only dependant. She said they ticked all three boxes for insufficient funds. It's like they didn't even check her application to find the tuition receipt.
In the last 3weeks, the rate at which they have been denying people's application on grounds of insufficient funds is alarming.

what if sponsor transfers to her account from the Treasury bill, hope it wont raise any red flag
It should be explained to avoid issues of lump sum, better still the money should be transferred into your account with explanations.

Yes but there should be proof of readily available funds I your sponsors account & not just showing only the treasury bill as funds available.

NB: You said you got info here about 7 years ago and u couldn't even come back to share ur experience with those of us(upcoming ) until u need info for ur younger brother, that's not fair at all. Imagine if everyone does that how will this GREAT thread continue? That's just my view sha.

@mcobex: Thanks for replying and no vex. I did share my experience at the time but I was certainly not a guru like some of you. More so, over time my information is bound to become irrelevant. For instance, back then there were no biometrics or VFS. Now that I have signed back in, I can answer some questions that some of you have about Canada in general. I'm in Ontario btw (Greater Toronto Area).
I also think you should order for his gcms note. Then add proof of where it was stated that he shouldn't pay tuition before he gets a study permit. It seems insufficient funds is the latest for these VOs even when funds are available.

God is so good! Submitted July 13th with upfront medicals, medicals passed a week after. Eligibility Review on August 16th being yesterday morning. Approval on August 16th when I checked at night.

Got a BA in interior Architecture- Cyprus
Ma in Architecture- UK
Going for a second masters in Environmental Studies.

I've been a silent reader here. Was really encouraged by the faith some of us possess here. It's amazing. When I went to submit my application last month, VFS officer told me "you are submitting late" considering my program starts commences in a couple of weeks, but the Holy Spirit told me "I got you". Nothing is a rule out with God truth be told.

Be encouraged everyone!
God speed! Congratulations. Please share the list of documents submitted.

Senatorkolade:
Nigerians are the most problematic people in the world with the way we abuse things.
Before now, Canadian study permit applications were not difficult for Nigerian students even with PGd or ordinary diploma but some unscrupulous Nigerians abused this privilege in the past by absconding when they get to Canada. If this trend is not reversed, Masters applicants may be treated in this way in the future even with funding. I have heard of a Nigerian who used the funding money paid into his account to sponsor his family for SPWP application and now running up and down to look for the school fees when it is time for him to pay. Some abandon their study looking for money. I don't know why a 24 year old student is running up and down looking for money to build house in Nigeria leaving his Masters degree to suffer with the funding he got. This is embarrassing.
We had training with some Consulars including some Canadian Consulars. One of them told me that they get information about Nigerian applicants' tricks in study permit applications through the blogs. He mention some including this Nairaland. I was shocked to hear this. I then stylishly asked how he got to know about the Nairaland, he said they got to know when a study permit applicant mentioned Nairaland in his "Statement of Intent" he submitted to the Canadian High Commission. Since then, they have been peeping into what Nigerians post there. Please,I will beg people to stop posting fraud or indicting posts on Nairaland. The VOs are here.

Also I beg people in the name of everything you believe in, if you know that you don't have the primary intention of studying, don't apply for the study permit. Better go for Express Entry and that will be better for you.

For those considering the option of bringing their family into Canada through the Spousal Work Permit, if you apply for your spouse less than a year you get into Canada, you are endangering the SWP application. This is because you mentioned your family as one of your home tie when you applied. Now the same home tie is what you want to bring in. This gives the VO a doubt about what you initially told them. Mind you, you wife's Spousal Work Permit is a continuation of your initial study permit application. VISA Officer will reason that if you as the Principal applicant does not respect the terms of the visa given to to, how will he/she believe that your spouse will respect the terms of the work permit. This is logical.
Mind you, your school gives the CIC the feedback on how you pursue your program in Canada.
Our level of desperation sha...

Yea true. The first box is not related to funds sufficiency.

Your best chance will be to have your mum pay your full tuition and either transfer funds for your living expenses for the first year to you or leave it in her account.

Sometimes, the issue of insufficient funds cut across different factors.

1. Insufficient proof of relationship to sponsor.

2. Lump sum deposit of funds were seen in the account that was unexplained or did not show average income of sponsor.

3. Source of income/funds was not evidenced.

Using your mum as a sponsor puts you in pretty much good chance as to credibility to funds availability during your study. However, this does not entirely mean that if any trace of uncleared funds is seen in the account statement or financial document submitted it will be overlooked. A Visa officer main prerogative is to make sure fund is accessible by the applicant irrespective of who the sponsor is. The more you show you have direct access to funds, the better chance you have.

Notwithstanding, ensure you order for your immigration file AKA GCMS file note. It will help you know the exact reason inferred by the visa Officer.
Boss, please I need your advise.
My sponsor is my father but my brother wants to pay the living expenses into my dorm account without including himself as a cosponsor. Will it raise a red flag were there is no evidence in my sponsors acct of depositing d money.

[quote author=LaGrace post=59490485]Unless you're in a hurry and you have an idea of what the insufficient funds is about, I will advise you to order for gcms notes. Insifficents funds can constitute a whole lot and not necessarily not having money. Your notes can tell u exactly what the officer is looking for.
To answer your question, I believe a detailed sponsorship letter showing the relationship with proof of birth certificates should do it. My opinion, I don't how it works in Nigeria, but in Ghana that should do. Wishing you all the best

Thanks @LaGrace I have already ordered for my gcms note. Getting their birthday certificates is a little bit hard.

Hello everyone, please I have a question to ask. My visa was delayed on 3rd august on grounds of insufficient funds, I posted my profile before the house same day. I want to reapply & in order to tackle is reason for refusal, I would be adding a cosponsor who is ready to show commitment in my next application.

My question: how do I establish/prove relationship between me & my cosponsor? She's my mum's maternal cousin.

Thanks in advance for your response

This one tire me..
Wanted to insist on study leave with bond with an assumption that "what if the VO didn't read the SOP"

But then i saw the sponsorship aspect which u said stated that.

I think this becomes a case of individual difference. Another VO would have comfortably approved your app.

Apply Again...
I plan to defer till January, get d gcms note & tackle the area of insufficient fund, possibly get a co-sponsor & pay tuition fee. Hopefully it will end in praise.

MrMarc:
This app is better than alot that was approved..

Though can be improved.

1. I guess you are a lawyer by Undergrad.
Having a job back home isn't enough...Don't jst leave it at that as home tie...rather prove that you would return to ur job after school but how?? Study leave letter (If possible with bond)
2. I would still suggest you pay tuition
3. Have your living expenses in ur account with a letter of fund export.

Tho there's someone on this thread who got approved when his app isn't this tight. Yet don't take things for granted cos others got approval. Be very detailed in every aspect of your app.
My home tie is my place of work, my dad is my employer, we stated in my SOP & letter of sponsorship that I was coming back home to take over the firm after my studies.

This is serious, how much did ur dad say he was putting in ur studies and how much did u fill for ur total funds available on ur IMM form.

Hope ur dad didn't receive a lump sum weeks before u submitted ur application, there r so many angles to it.
In the IMM form, $23500 was stated as funds available. Lump sums that entered d acct was like 2 months before I applied. I will apply for my gcms to get detailed reasons for the delay.

I just want to thank God because of the miracles he has done and he's doing for me

I'm following two forums this and one on canadavisa I've been waiting for for this for two years not because of financial problems or denial but because of my passport.
I did a change of name (addition to my surname and shortened my middle name)if any one has done this you'd know the problem

So just one time no denial nor delay I want to give glory to God

I did biometrics on 26th of may
Called for medicals on 17th of july
Went for medicals on 18th
Approval yesterday 28th of July

Not knowing I had gotten an approval yesterday at the salon I didn't read the message well (I got it from my visa agent) I was still worrying a little yesterday night cuz I really want this visa to be approved so I can get this over wiTh

It's only God that made this possible only God and if you don't believe have faith and pray during though times mehn nothing will work out
Glory to God almighty
Congratulations! 8weeks/ God speed. I tap into this approval

Thanks alot. Say one's family of like 3 uncles and an aunt (each giving between 1mil to 2mil) wants to act as co-sponsor based on the financial situation in the country at present. Is it ok?
It's ok but if they can move the money to one or 2 of your co-sponsor's acct it won't be bad. It saves the stress of having to submit 4 SOA & letters of sponsorship.
My opinion doh
