Ondo state Governor Mimiko arrived Aso Rock today around 11:0am and held a closed-doors meeting with President Buhari. The details/reasons of his meeting are not clearly known but it is strongly believed that he visited Buhari in respect of yesterday's INEC declaration of Jimoh Ibrahim as the authentic governorship candidate of PDP in Ondo state. Earlier today, there was protest by supporters of Eyitayo Jegede in Ondo state. This was to show their grievances to the world after INEC left Eyitayo Jegede's name from the list of the candidates of the political parties that would participate in the November 26 governorship election. Pictured above are Femi Adesina and Gov Mimiko at Presidential Villa today.

According to Akwarandu who shared the photos, this is the sorry state of Central School 11 in Umualaoma Community of Ideato North LGA, Imo State. It should be recalled that Gov. Rochas Okorocha is from Ideato in Imo state.Below is what Akwarandu wrote.... 'This is Central School 11 in Umualaoma Community of Ideato North LGA, Imo State. It is unfortunate that most primary and secondary schools in imo state are in this shape. It is not enough to build one school in the city and call it Owerri City school while those in Villages suffer. Free education or even a reduced fee is of no essence to a student who stays in this environment to study. You can imagine, no library, no staff room, no office blocks, no class rooms and no place to seat on. What of a play ground for physical education? That one is off! I still insist that the free education was a well articulated political strategy used to hoodwink imolites into beliving that impossibility will be possible. But today, we are ready to tell imolites that what they said is not what they are doing. Imo must be better but not with lies and deceit. Not with propaganda. Imo must be better with truth. #NoFreeEducationInImo' Source: http://www.trezzyhelm.com/2016/10/man-shares-sorry-state-of-central.html

Remember Emmanuel Ojo,the Ogun state man who revealed that NLC officials were attacked and robbed by thugs in the presence of police? He has called out Ogun state governor, listing some of his ongoing personal projects while his workers suffer. This comes after Ogun state governor called striking workers senseless and brainless people.Below is what he wrote..... 'A governor that's building a multi-billion naira private residence and simultaneously a 10 floors complex in the full glare of everyone (most especially the civil servants) complain that the state is broke? You stopped all other projects while your own personal projects are going on before our naked eyes, yet you have the guts to qualify our workers as senseless and brainless? Jesus Christ! The civil service is an integral and critical part of any government establishment. If the "political head" of a state government pronounced that those seeing to the day to day running of such government establishment is being managed by people without brain and sense, it thus then mean and implies that he's also running a senseless and brainless government. This is the simplest interpretation of what the governor said in respect to Ogun civil servants and their ongoing strike'. Members of A'IBOM 5000 TEACHERS, employed in 2015 by the State Government but have not been given posting to their various work stations today staged a protest at Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly premises. Below is the sad tales of the A'Ibom 5000 teachers who are yet to receive their posting letters... In Akwa Ibom State, credit must be given to past administrations for their contribution to the growth of education in the state, most importantly the free and compulsory education floated by the administration of Dr. Godswill Akpabio, as well as the present administration led by His Excellency Mr Udom Emmanuel for sustaining the policy as well as other lofty educational inputs of his administration. Education is not complete without teachers and the quality of knowledge and height attained is not as a result of school name but due to the quality of teachers that impact on the student. This is because a teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others and if there was anything like "wage justice", teaching would have been the highest paid profession in the world. To the crux of the matter, teachers in Akwa Ibom State are not fairly treated despite being the bedrock and carriers of all potentials and here is, and the most pathetic is the plight of the (2015) 5000 EMPLOYED TEACHERS. Their case is so pathetic that even the heavens weep daily on their behalf. In taking us down memory lane, it could be recalled that the process that culminated to the engagement of these group of teachers by the state government commenced on 30th September 2013 with the issuance and submission of application forms, thereafter, series of interviews (oral and written) were conducted and the final shortlisting of successful applicants. Premised on the aforesaid, necessary administrative documentation exercise was held from the 2nd day of February 2015 through the 1st of April 2015 at Aka Community Secondary School, Aka Offot and Community Secondary School, Ikot Okubo, Uyo respectively. Also to ascertain the medical fitness on these teachers who will undertake the enormous and daunting task of teaching, nurturing and mentoring, they were dispatched to government hospitals to undertake compulsory medical examination. After the successful completion of these rigorous but important procedural administrative requirements, they were considered fit and proper and accordingly issued Letters of Appointment with effect from April 2015. From 1st April 2015 effective date of the appointment, they have eagerly waited to be posted/deployed to schools to actualize or justify the intention of the government for their engagement, but apparently, their waiting appears to be endless despite repeated entreaties to the board statutorily saddled with the mandate of recruitment, transfer and posting of secondary school teachers and other stakeholders in the Akwa Ibom State Government as well as other heads of agencies. This seemingless hopeless and bleak situation filled with uncertainty now leaves them in hysteria and compounded frailty as many are already dead, (about a week ago, another one bid the world farewell) while others are psychologically traumatized and desolate given the fact that the employment was widely publicized (most of them were either laid-off from private establishment while others resigned voluntarily) and is still being perceived as succour by their families and numerous dependents, particularly in a time like this in our national economy. It is worthy of note to state that vacancy abound in our public schools and the system is comatose as so many teachers have either retired, died, or transfered their service, and it is reported that most public schools in the state have about three(3) to four(4) teachers especially in rural communities, but government have about 5000 employed teachers awaiting deployment to schools. It is therefore pertinent now, to draw the attention of HIS EXCELLENCY THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF AKWA IBOM STATE, MR UDOM GABRIEL EMMANUEL to wade-in and intervene in whatever challenge that may be causing teachers so much tears, agony, lack, hunger, etc. Also, it is high time our public schools are saved from total collapse as its continuous lack of man power will continually sink the system. cc; Lalasticlala,mynd44 Source: http://www.trezzyhelm.com/2016/10/protest-at-akwa-ibom-state-house-of.html

PRESS RELEASE FROM EFCC EFCC Did not Detain Mrs Fani-kayode The wife of Femi Fani Kayode and her child are not in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and were never detained by the Commission. Contrary to the media spin about the purported arrest of mother and child, a certain Chikwendu Sonia today attempted to withdraw money from an Access Bank account that had been placed on 'Post No Debit' Category, following the discovery of illicit cash flows into the account. She was intercepted by the bank while the Commission was notified but because it was late, the EFCC advised that the suspect be taken to the police station for processing and release on bail. They were arranging to take the suspect to the police station when Governor Ayo Fayose stormed the bank with thugs and his personal security and forcefully secured the release of the suspect, with claims that the EFCC had no power to detain anybody in his state. He also vowed to close down the branch of the bank. The said account, which had a balance of N 2,307,712.82 was flagged following investigation into the PDP Joint Trust fund when the Commission traced N1.1billion to the Zenith Bank account of Fani-Kayode. It was discovered that the account had two biometric identification numbers, one for Fani-Kayode and the other (with BVN 2205597283)for Sonia Chikwendu. The same BVN is linked to 2 other accounts in Diamond bank and 15 accounts in Guaranty Trust Bank. Wilson Uwujaren Head, Media & Publicity 17th, October, 2016

Check out fun photos from the sold out BFI London Film Festival premiere of #76TheMovie held at Cineworld Haymarket. In attendance were the cast crew which included Rita Dominic, Ramsey Nouah, Adonijah Owiriwa, Memry Savanhu, Izu Ojukwu, Willis Ikedum and Prince Tonye Princewill. 76TheMovie uncovers the plot that led to the assassination in 1976 of the then popular Nigerian military ruler General Murtala Mohammed. Six years after the Nigerian civil war, Dewa (Ramsey Nouah) a young officer from the middle belt becomes embroiled in a romantic relationship with Suzy (Rita Dominic) a young woman from the south east. Their relationship is threatened by the overwhelming strain of their ethnic differences. Now heavily pregnant, Suzy’s world falls apart when news of her husband’s involvement in a botched coup attempt hit the headlines. Stunningly shot on 35mm and given extra texture by the use of footage from the BBC Archives, 76 atmospherically recreates the era. Complete with a score of African music, along with some American soul classics, 76 reminds us of the moment when this great west African country lost its innocence. cc; Lalasticlala, ijebabe Source: http://www.trezzyhelm.com/2016/10/photos-from-rita-dominic-ramsey-nouahs.html?m=1
