PoliticsEdo2016:PDP Candidate Pastor Ize-Iyamu Convert Redeemed Church 2 Campaign Office by broseme(op): 3:25pm On Aug 30, 2016
PDP candidate converts Redeemed church to Campaign office.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Edo Region 13 headquarters (Trinity Sanctuary) in Benin City, Edo State has been converted to the PDP campaign office of Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the September 10 election.
Banners of the PDP and its candidate adorn all the walls of the church only the altar is spared the disgrace.
Regional Pastor of the Church in Edo State, Pastor James Dagunduro and other ministers in the RCCG who should preach Christ and convert sinners now preach Ize-Iyamu on the altar.
The Regional Pastor, we learnt, has given instructions to parish pastors to canvass for Mr. Ize-Iyamu in their parishes, a situation which is causing ripples in the church.
Two campaign jingles of Mr. Ize-Iyamu were repeatedly played in the teenage Church of Trinity Sanctuary on Sunday 21st August and no other message was preached to the teenagers.
A Minister in the Church (names withheld) who complained that the church was being turned into a political arena was reprimanded and shut down.
A member of the congregation who lamented the sudden development in the church told this reporter that a Minister who dared to voice his objection to the development has been transferred over the development.
It was learnt that Provincial Pastors in the church now hold meetings on the Ize-Iyamu project against the interest of their parishioners who are averse the PDP and its candidate.
Many parishioners and members of other parties who can’t stand the new development are leaving the church in droves as they see it as a strange doctrine in the church.
Many see the Ize-Iyamu project as an extension of the failed Government of former Mr Lucky Igbinedion, who ran the state aground from 1999 to 2007.
It would be recalled that Mr. Ize-Iyamu, who is a Zonal Pastor in the Church, had confessed to the EFCC to have collected N700 million from the Dasuki arms money and shared among his party chieftains, and nothing has been heard from the Edo church in condemnation of this.
Recall that in the Presidential election of 2015, General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye did not openly canvass for President Buhari and Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo in spite of the fact that Prof Osinbajo is a Senior Pastor in the RCCG who ministers at the Holy Ghost Services and Conventions of the Church.
Aggrieved members of the Church are now calling on the respected General Overseer of the Church, Pastor EA Adeboye, who is known to be very strict with workers in the Church, to wade into the Edo Church before things go completely out of hand.

PoliticsWole Soyinka In Westminster London For African Literary Fanfare (Photos) by broseme(op): 9:23am On Aug 22, 2016
See What Wole Soyinka Said In UK How Buhari Wants 2 Stop Niger Delta Avengers

Prof. Wole Soyinka was a special guest at a literary fanfare that held in Westminster London. While speaking to guests at the event, the Nobel laureate highlighted what he discussed during his recent meeting with Buhari at Aso rock.

According to him,the services of international mediators will be sought to mediate between the Nigerian government and militants to resolve lingering crisis in the Niger Delta region.

The Niger Delta Avengers and other militants in recent time have been bombing oil installations in the Niger Delta, thus, crippling the economy of the nation. Soyinka, who spoke at Westminster, London during the launch of two major African literatures told the audience that all hope was not lost in Africa notwithstanding challenges of nation- building and difficult economic situations, some of which led to violence in the continent.

He said the current violence  in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria and the blowing up of oil installation by some militants was an example of such economic frustration and a feeling of inequality among people who suffered most from the effect of extractive economies.

The Nobel laureate disclosed that an international observatory post of which he would be involved had held preliminary discussions with President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of the militants to resolve the crisis in the region.

He further said consultation with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby; some members of the British Parliament, the Asantehene, Osei Tutu II would be pursued as an international mediation effort to help bring peace to the afflicted region.

PoliticsBuhari Declares Open Annual Meeting Of The Association Of African Central Banks by broseme(op): 1:55pm On Aug 18, 2016
President Buhari today August 18 declared open the Annual Meeting of the Association of African Central Banks (AACB) in Abuja.Present at the event are Chairman, Association of African Central Banks (AACB) Mr Lucas Abaga Nchama, Vice Chairman of AACB and Governor Central Bank of Nigeria Mr Godwin Emefiele and Chairman, Senate committee on banking, insurance and other financial institutions, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim,Minister of Finance Mrs Kemi Adeosun and Kebbi State Governor H.E. Atiku Bagudu.

Below is a speech delivered by Buhari at the opening of the ceremony....

1. It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to our capital city of Abuja, on the occasion of the 2016 Governors Symposium and the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Governors of the Association of African Central Banks. I advise our guests, especially those who are visiting Abuja for the first time, to take time out to tour and enjoy the bustle and variety of the city and the well-known hospitality of the Nigerian people.

2.Your distinguished club, the Assembly of Governors of the Association of African Central Banks meets annually to discuss and exchange views and experiences on topical issues affecting African economies and seek ways to improve macroeconomic governance in our countries. I sincerely hope that this year’s event would generate discussions and provide viable policy options that would assist to resolve the numerous economic challenges facing the continent.

3.Your Excellencies, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, I believe that the theme of this year’s Symposium—“Unwinding Unconventional Monetary Policies: Implications for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability in Africa”— covers contemporary issues and is of special relevance to us in Africa. It corresponds with a period when African economies are confronted with a number of growing and sometimes extraneous challenges that constitute threats to growth and the stability of our financial systems.

4.I am confident that you will come up with practical ways by which we can chart a way forward for the growth and development of Africa. The region is confronted with several global and domestic economic challenges. Most worrisome is the slowdown in growth; weakening global demand; rising inflation; restrictions in capital flows; rising debt levels; increased exchange rate volatility and depleting external reserves.

5. Those of us who rely on only natural resources such as Nigeria, Angola, South Africa, and Mozambique have been hit the hardest. We have also had to contend with the effect of the Ebola Virus Disease, which struck some countries in the West-African Sub-region. Furthermore, China, a major trade and business partner to a number of African countries is currently slowing down as it remodels its economy, sparking fears of further weakening.

6. Faced with these challenges, African Central Banks have been at their best in keeping African economies afloat through proactive and effective combination of conventional and innovative monetary policies. I urge you to continue to look for original home-grown solutions, not to rely on “fit for all purposes” prescriptions handed down from abroad. The world is a dynamic place and with innovation, we can survive.

7. In Nigeria, the Central Bank of Nigeria has for many years spearheaded economic stimulus measures through specific intervention programmes. I think these measures should be sustained through good times and through difficult times.

8. Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, we fully understand that monetary policy alone is not sufficient to bring about desired economic growth. We must carefully balance monetary and fiscal policy measures.

9. For us in Nigeria, while recognizing the challenges we are confronted with and the need to surmount them, we are determined to diversify the economy away from excessive reliance on oil and other primary products. Consequently, we are taking measures and implementing policies that would ensure we are self-sufficient, generate massive employment for millions of our youth, and explore our untapped human and natural resources.

10. We shall also embark on export and production diversification steps including investment in infrastructure; promotion of manufacturing through agro-based industries and expansion of Regional Trade. All these would involve integrating the informal economy into the mainstream and providing funds to Small and Medium Enterprises. We shall also continue, with greater determination and focus to pursue our goal of ensuring improved security for our country and its citizens, and without letting up on our fight against corruption and terrorism.

11. Side by side, with economic stimulus measures, we must intensify our surveillance and give guidance to the operations of our financial institutions to reverse the trend of illicit flows of funds out of Africa. We should all be serious in putting place measures aimed at ensuring that the proceeds of these illicit flows are repatriated to their countries of origin with minimal bureaucratic hitches.

12. Your Excellencies, Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, I now have the pleasure and honour of declaring this Symposium officially open. I wish you all very fruitful deliberations.

EFCC detains Imo State Ex-Governor Achike Udenwa
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today re - arrested the former governor of Imo State Achike Udenwa in connection with alleged
campaign scandal at the last presidential election.
Udenwa as a State Co-ordinator for The Presidential Campaign Organisation in Imo State was said to have collected the sum of N350,000,000 (Three Hundred and Fifty Million Naira Only) from the former senator representing Kaduna South and Director of Finance for the PDP presidential campaign organisation, Nenadi Usman.

The suspect, in his statement to the Commission admitted receiving the money via Diamond Bank account No.0058805692 and 005950791 respectively on the 14th and 28th of January 2015 in three separate instalments. He added that the money came from a company named Joint Trust Dimension Limited. This same company was charged alongside Mrs Nenadi  Usman  and the Media Director of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Femi Fani Kayode before Federal High Court Lagos on a similar allegation.

Investigation however revealed that Achike Udenwa and one Viola Onwuliri, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and  State Minister for Education, who was his deputy at the  Presidential Campaign Organization were the two signatories to the Diamond Bank account that received the money.
Upon his arrest, Udenwa was immediately granted administrative bail by the commission with condition that he should be reporting to the commission at an appointed time. But while enjoying his administrative bail, Udenwa chose to deliberately skip reporting, thereby compelling the commission to revoke his administrative bail pending his arraignment soon.
Achike Udenwa was a governor of Imo State under the flagship of People’s Democratic Party between 1999 and 2007 and became a minister
of Commerce and Industry between 2008 and 2010 under Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Below is a statement released by Aisha Alkali Wakil......

You are out for mischief. Yes I have links with Boko Haram and you have always known that - Aisha Wakil to HQ Nigerian Army

I understand that the military declared me, Ahmed Silkida and Ahmed Bolori wanted for having links with Boko Haram. It's interesting, now they believe me?

I know the Boko Haram boys. I have been in front fighting for peace long before Chibok girls were kidnapped. Nigerian security knows me too well, I'm not shady. Why declaring me wanted?

I have had meetings with Chief of Army staff & his people. I told them the way forward, to allow me come with some commanders of Boko Haram and discuss with them, present the release of CBGs but they chose to do things their own ways only and never gave considerations to any of my suggestions.

I want to inform the Nigerian people of my innocence and make them realise that I am in constant relation with the security personnel and they know where to find me but wonder why I had to be declared wanted on national news even mentioning my husband's name alongside.

This has put my immediate and extended family under a lot of pressure and I do not deserve this from the Nigerian government.

Though they may not appreciate all my efforts to profer peaceful solutions to the menace of bh, my name should not be mudslinged nor my character defamed.

Thank you

Aisha Alkali Wakil

Chibok girls' latest video: FG in touch, working for girls' release

The Federal Government is doing everything possible to secure the release of the Chibok girls and put an end to the horrible saga of their abduction.

Reacting to the latest video of some of the girls, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said in a statement in Abuja on Sunday
that the government is in touch with those purportedly behind the video.

''We are on top of the situation. But we are being extremely careful
because the situation has been compounded by the split in the leadership of
Boko Haram. We are also being guided by the need to ensure the safety of
the girls.

''Since this is not the first time we have been contacted over the
issue, we want to be doubly sure that those we are in touch with are who they claim
to be,'' he said.

Alhaji Mohammed expressed the hope that the latest development will signal the
beginning of the end of the nightmare to which the girls, their families and indeed all Nigerians have been subjected since the unfortunate abduction.
