I wonder how I last so long, last 223,000 hours- Drake rapping in Bleep me for free. |
By faith, before the year 2017 ends, I will be married to the love of my life. |
Let me share this. There was a letter written directly to the president by nitel ex senior management staff including other parastatals like nigeria airways, nigeria reinsurance, nafcon and the others that jointly signed. The president received it and minuted to the Minister of finance. No one knows yet knows what the president directed. There are moves to find out from the Minister's office what the president directed. I believe it should be a positive directive. |
@obindomanya: It is not pessimism. No vex oga. I am not a Nitel former staff or retiree. I am just privileged to have access to key information on your NITEL issue and i felt i should share. Information is power. Afterall, one other person here confirmed what i said. I really want you all to get your due rights having worked for government. It is really painful to not be on pension. |
There is no approval before accountant general. What is happening is that PTAD has sent a memo to Hon. Minister of Finance on the issue. The pension issue of NITEL was lumped with Nigeria Airways, NAFCON and some other privatised government firms. The amount is quite huge because it contains arrears of pensions of all these privatised agencies. However, PTAD has done different scenarios for these payments because the overall sum is very big which may discourage government if it is to pay all at once due to paucity of funds. These scenarios include payment of past arrears bit by bit and probably just adding these pensioners into the pension payroll from next year. some say the arrears in total is nearly 200 billion naira. The Minister is to scrutinize the request and then present it as a memo to the Federal Executive Council. If and when the FEC approves, then there will be appropriation for it either in this year's supplementary budget or for 2017 budget. The prayer should be that let the FEC approve once the issue is brought before the council. |
When is the new management resuming? |
I'm a proud graduate of Baptist High School Jos. |

Caleb Adaji. Correct guy. Knew him from way back. HML |
It is true they have increased the smart talk tarriff to 15k per second. I noticed it today. We shd hav been informed before this kind of review |
Yea from like sept last year |
the ones employed were surely among the 74 they were to employ. If they were 7 Board members and each had 4-5 slots then we can say up to 35-40 were recruited towards end of last year. I doubt if the entire vacancies were filled. The out gone Board would surely not fill up the entire vacancies for obvious reasons but what they did mostly was to give appointments to their relatives and close friends so as not to lose out completely. Definitely, a new Board will employ more hands but trust Nigeria, it may still be the same method of secret recruitment. they may not want to use the Restral report of employment. You know that whomever comes in as new chairman and board members will also be under pressure to put their own people. NERC is a very sweet place to work hence the attraction of getting in by any means. |
Resumed for nearly over five months ago. I don't think having HQ building ready was a factor. They just put their pple before their tenure ended and whenever d HQ is ready then maybe more pple will come in which will be at the discretion of d incoming board when appointed. |
@teekay: one of the ex board members had five slots and I bumped into someone that benefitted from one of the slots. My brother, it is sad but true. The person I met is of the same ethnic stock of the ex board member and didn't even go thru any test. Definitely, as they knew they were leaving they put their people. God dey. |
NERC recruitment has been concluded. The slots were shared among the former Board Members. Let's all move on from here. Wish everyone good luck in all their endeavours. Was nice interacting with you all. Cheers. |
What about NERC?There was a test and interviews over the last 2-3 years but nothing yet from what i observed. We thought the last Board under Sam Amadi would conclude it before leaving but no show. Or did they do the usual discreete employment. @ Rumppelstiltskin: will appreciate any info as you seem to be well informed on these. Thanks |
Hi peeps. What has been happening? Long time. Seems no update on anything. I trust everyone is doing well. One love. |
IK don't break her heart o. She is a colombian. Go and watch Narcos and give yourself brain |
He is the acting Chairman/CEO of NERC. I wonder why a new Chairman and Comissioners have not been appointed. Its one month now and the NERC Act specifies that a substantive management team be appointed within 21 days of expiration of tenure |
@ruggedtimi: no I mean the american one with ryan gosling and rachel mcadams |

At last, the old chairman and commissioners are gone. We eagerly await the new team. I just found out that total staff strength of NERC nationwide is less than less than 200 staff including in the HQ and zonal offices. In fact i heard its just a little over 160 staff |
@teekay77: I am just happy that they are all going. Let's be optimistic that some of us will have a means of communication to BRF or the new chairman which I am sure will be appointed immediately. I pray this whole process won't be abandoned. |
6 days to end of tenure. waiting patiently |
10 more days to say goodbye. |
