In a recent interview with The Cut, Tems revealed that she did not speak until age three, adding that singing came naturally to her.

Former President Buhari has said that he didn’t sack the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, when there were speculations about Emefiele’s presidential ambition, emphasizing that Emefiele never discussed it with him.

This was made known in a memoir titled “Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015 – 2023)”, written by former Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, and presented in Abuja on Tuesday, January 16.

The book also put up the former President’s defense of his administration’s Naira redesign policy, implemented by the then, Emefiele, saying it helped the country achieve a clean general election in 2023.

According to the memoir, the former President maintained that those who had a problem with the policy were individuals who had too much money.

In the book’s 12th chapter, the former President said;

"The scarcity of money was not deliberately done to punish Nigerians. Democracy allows people to express their will, and we did not attempt to control them. People understood the implications of their choices, and we did not force them. My state, Katsina, showed the beauty of the whole system.

Man recounts how he almost landed in prison after girlfriend went to spend night with another man and lied to her parents that she was with him.

Apparently, the lady went to spend the night at the home of another man, but before leaving, she lied to her parents she was going to the man’s house.
When she didn’t return and her parents got worried, all fingers were pointed at the man, since the lady had told them she would be at his place, not knowing she went to another of her lover’s place.

The man said that he was invited to the station by the police who were suspecting him of kidnap.

He revealed that the lady eventually returned and not the family, nor the girl called to apologize, just the police did.

“So girl disappeared for a weekend and pinned it on me. Her Parents couldn’t reach her 1st night. They went to her place only to find her roommate so this hun lied to her roommate that she was coming to me. Parents alerted the police because her phone was off.

The palace of Igwe Emmanuel Nnabuife, the traditional ruler of Isseke Community in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, has been burnt down by yet-to-be identified arsonist.

It was learnt that no life was lost and nobody was harmed in the incident.

Igwe Emmanuel Nnabuife, who confirmed the incident, noted that his house was burnt by the gunmen, while lamenting that he had no problem with anyone in his community to warrant the incident.

He affirmed that he had lost everything that he laboured all his life to achieve, saying as it was now, he was homeless, Daily Trust reports.

He said; “It is true that my palace was burnt down by some boys and I have lost everything that I laboured all my life to achieve and as it is now, I am homeless.

“Everything was raised down but I thank God that no life was lost and nobody was harmed and this is the way it in my town Isseke,” he said.

However, the Police State Comand’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga described the incident as a case of arson at the monarch’s palace, adding that an investigation had commenced.

He said: “The command has since commenced an investigation on the case of arson that took place at Igwe Isseke’s Palace. We are already talking with some eyewitnesses in the area where the incident took place.

“For now, no report of life was lost and the value of properties destroyed is yet to be ascertained. I don’t have any report about any abduction, I will make an enquiry and get back to you, please.”

The Katsina State Hisbah Board has destroyed no fewer than 850 bottles containing various alcohol products in Kankara Local Government Area of the state.

Dr. Aminu Usman, known as Abu-Ammar, the Hisbah Commander in the state, disclosed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Usman said he led the disposal of the alcohol bottles on Sunday in Kankara, accompanied by government officials. He also reiterated the state government’s commitment to combating any form of immorality within the State.

He clarified that some of the intercepted alcohols were found in a vehicle heading to the town, while others were seized from places where they were being sold within the local government.

Usman said that the establishment of the board empowers Hisbah to thoroughly search throughout the state to uncover locations where immoral acts are being committed.

The commander appealed to the residents of the state to consistently report houses and locations in their communities where such acts occurred.

He urged the general public to provide continuous support to the board in fulfilling its responsibilities to create a more conducive environment in the state.

The ICPC, though its counsel, Ebenezer Shogunle, had filed the charge marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/511/23 on Oct. 30, 2023 against Ndifon.

In count one, the defendant was alleged to have, between June and September 2023, used his office and position to gratify himself by soliciting for n3de photographs and videos from a year 2 diploma female student of the university through Whatsapp chats on his telephone number: 08037066222, contrary to and punishable under Section 19 of the Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences Act, 2000.

In count two, he was alleged to have corruptly requested for nude photographs and videos from a 400 level female student of the Faculty of Law with the plan of changing her project supervisor to himself to guarantee favourable grades for her and offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 8(1)(a) (il) of the agency’s Act.

In count three, he was alleged to have corruptly requested to see photographs of a 16-year-old prospective post UTME female student, as an inducement to consider her for admission into the Faculty of Law contrary to and punishable under Section 18(d) of the Act.

Count four accused him of causing a female student to send pornographic, indecent and obscene photographs of herself to him through Whatsapp chats on his telephone number: 08037066222 between May and September 2023, contrary to and punishable under Section 24 of the Cybercrime (Prohibition & Prevention) Act, 2015.

Nigerian singer, Cynthia Morgan has taken to social media to bemoan the level of fake friendship that exist in the music industry.

A young Nigerian man counts his blessings as he finally gets released from Kirikiri Maximum prison after being incarcerated for a crime.

A video making the rounds on social media captured the moment a man tasted freedom once again after spending years in a confined environment.

In the video, he was seen exiting the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos while his family waited outside to welcome him.

With overwhelming joy in his heart, he bounced out with humility while his bags were brought out by unknown individuals.

Sharing the video on TikTok, he captioned it, “After how many years in Custody..God still show me way.”

During the Christmas holidays in December 2023, the official residence of Retired Justice Muhammad Dattijo at the Supreme Court was burgled.

The quarters for Supreme Court justices are in Maitama in Abuja.

Sources privy to the incident told reporters that the home was stripped bare as the burglars “took everything from the house”.

“The burglary took place at the quarters for Supreme Court justices in Maitama. It occurred over the Christmas holidays and Dattijo was travelling out of the country at the time,” one of the sources said.

Dattijo, who retired from the Supreme Court on October 27, 2023, knocked his colleagues on his way out.

He described the apex court as rotten and characterised by filth.

He lamented that the apex court had been pervaded by bribery and perversion of justice, adding that it was dangerous for two out of the six geopolitical zones of the country to be excluded from the bench of the Supreme Court hearing appeals on the presidential election.

“A number of respected senior members of the bar inter alia, citing Ahmed Lawan, the former President of the Senate and Imo governorship appeals, claim that decisions of even the apex court have become unpredictable.

“It is difficult to understand how and where, by these decisions, the judicial pendulum swings. It was not so before, they contended.

“In some quarters, the view is strongly held that filth and intrigues characterise the institution these days. Judges are said to be comfortable in companies they never would have kept in the past. It is being insinuated that some judicial officers even campaign for politicians. It cannot be more damnifying.”

According to him, some years ago, “appointment to the bench was strictly on merit. Sound knowledge of the law, integrity, honour and hard work distinguished those who were elevated”.

He continued, “Lobbying was unheard of. I never lobbied, not at any stage of my career, to secure any appointment or elevation. As much as possible, the most qualified men and women were appointed. That can no longer be said about appointments to the bench.

The Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman has said security agents will go after Nigerians with fake school certificates from foreign countries.

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, Mamman said anyone in possession of a fake certificate is a criminal and not a victim.

“I have no sympathy for such people. Instead, they are part of the criminal chain that should be arrested,” the minister said sternly. If along the line, we can trace that there are people already in the system. For instance, if a particular institution or operator has been operating, say in the last 10 years, we will check if we can get records of Nigerians who attended that institution.

Once we do that, they are criminals and you know there is no timeframe to criminality. We will trace them. As long as we can lay our hands on their institutions and they are right here with us, certainly, the security agencies will go after them because they are criminals,” Mamman said when asked what would be done to Nigerians with fake foreign certificates already within the system.

The minister also said the Federal Government would suspend degree certificates from more countries like Uganda, Kenya and the Niger Republic.

“We are not going to stop at just Benin and Togo. We are going to extend the dragnet to countries like Uganda, Kenya, even Niger here where such institutions have been set up.”

An undercover journalist had detailed how he acquired a degree from a university in Benin Republic under two months and in fact, deployed for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The Federal Government had suspended immediately suspended accreditation of certificates from the two francophone West African nations and launched a probe which the minister said should submit its report in three months.

A Young lady simply identified as Iyanu has recounted how she slept with her brother and also her father for many years and even welcomed a son with her brother.

While speaking in an interview with journalist, Oriyomi Hamzat, Iyanu who spoke in Yoruba, said her brother has been having sex with her since she was 11 years old and that her father also began to have carnal knowledge of her when she turned 17.

She said her father and brother knew they were taking turns to sleep with her but never stopped their action.

When interrogated, her father, Michael Ayinde, who would turn 52 in February this year, mentioned that he has been divorced from his wife and their mum for 16 years now and that he has not been able to remarry because he doesn’t have money. He said he and his wife have four children. While confessing to his heinous crime, the father said

‘’I came to live in Ibadan in 2021. I used to take alcohol. On that fateful night, I was drunk and so I came back home and had sex with her. I have only had sex with her once”

When asked if his daughter resisted his attempt to sleep with him, Mr Ayinde claimed she did not. He said when he finished and realized what he had done, he began to beg her to forgive him.

On her part, the daughter said her father began to sleep with her when she and her brother went to visit him in a bakery where he used to work. She added that he continued to sleep with her whenever she and her brother visited him in a house he later rented. She stated that her father would start by removing her clothes when she was sleeping and then proceed to have carnal knowledge of her. She said her father had slept with her four times.

When interviewed, the older brother denied he impregnated his sister and welcomed a child with her. He claimed it was his friend who disvirgined his sister and that he had sex with his sister when he went to visit their mum. He also claimed that he had only slept with his sister four or five times.

Terrible things are happening on a daily in this country. You can't even trust anyone anymore.

A Nigerian woman was left in shock after a former classmate and her family relocated to Canada months after donations were made to help the same family out of “financial problems”.

In a series of posts on social media the Nigerian lady said sometime in March 2023, she was added to a Whatsapp group .

She said that the admin of the group later informed everyone that the purpose for the group was to seek financial assistance for a former classmate of theirs whose husband had no job and she was pregnant with their third child.

The Nigerian lady said they all contributed immensely with the lowest donation being N50, 000 and the highest N500, 000. She said she was shocked on January 1, 2024 when she stumbled on the said lady and her family’s photos in Canada.

She said she reached out to the admin of the group to get some clarity and she was informed that the lady who was in dire need blocked her immediately after collecting the donations.

I was added to a whatsapp group in March of 2023.
I noticed that it had 25 members of which I knew almost 20 of them. I was surprised but decided to see what the admin created the group for.
The admin, my university mate but from a different department narrated a long Slstory of how one of us was having serious financial problems, how the husband wasn't working and the lady was pregnant with their 3rd child.

It Was going to be hard for us to ignore so everyone of us dropped something, the least being 50k and highest 500k.

In July 2019 domestic workers and relatives of Goodluck Jonathan were arrested and investigated over stolen valuables including jewelries worth over N300m belonging to the former President.

It was reported that the suspects, allegedly broke into the palatial home of Jonathan at Otuoke in Ogbia Local Government and stole the items, including customised walking sticks.

According to an “X” (formerly Twitter) user my the name PIDOMNIGERIA who visited the Nigerian Correctional Service facility in Okaka, Beyelsa State. I shredded tears listening to the stories of the innocent people languishing in the prison.

He gave the names of the 15 suspects as; Golden Vivian, Erama Deborah, Precious Kingsley, Vincent Olabiyi, Ebuka Cosmos, Williams Alamo, Tamunokuro Abaku, Boma Oba, Emmanuel Aginwa, Emeka Benson, Tamunosiki Achese Frisberesima, Wariboko Salome, Sahabi Lima, Reginald Sunday, John Dashe.

In his words; I was at Okaka Prison in Bayelsa state, to celebrate this festive season with Prisoners. He shedded tears 😭😭 hearing the stories of innocent people like them languishing in prison for absolutely committing no offense.

Patience Jonathan has used her money and connections to ensure those 15 remain in prison custody from 2019 to 2024. She has frustrated and suppressed anything or anyone that questions their illegal detention. Heartless demon of a woman. They are mare victims of circumstance 💔💔😭😭 But if we must ask, how sure is Patience claim?

Because it is so so weird to imagine that the residence of a former president will not have CCTV cameras to help in resolving issues such as this. So the only way to resolving it is to punish everyone that works in that residence, either guilty or not as criminals.

How are we sure Patience Jonathan truly lost any 750 million naira worth of single jewelry.
Because some of the domestic staff currently in Okaka Prison are mare gardners at her Otuoeke residence. They don’t live with her in one house. They only come to work and leave everyday.

But for a claim that is not verified to be true, the police was invited to arrest everyone working at her residence, bundled them like common criminals, tortured them for days, & eventually sent them to prison to die.

I call on Nigerians with good conscience to speak up.

Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has lamented about the worsening attacks by terrorists and bandits in different parts of the country.

While speaking in Bauchi state on Wednesday, December 27, the monarch said bandits and other criminal elements attacking Nigerians are always a step ahead of security agencies in gathering intelligence, urging the military and other security agencies to step up intelligence gathering.

He condemned the recent attack by gunmen in Plateau State which claimed the lives of over 100 persons with several others wounded.

He called on security agencies to be more proactive and try to prevent such attacks.

“We only condemned such things but after condemning such activities by these bandits and criminals what next? What are the rest of the government who are supposed to protect our lives and property doing? Why do we keep on having these deaths? The Tudun Biri incident is still fresh with us and now the recent on the Plateau.

Why can’t you be proactive to stop such attacks before they happen? What happened to our intelligence-gathering mechanism? Are you telling me that nobody knew about such attacks? In various places whether in Sokoto, Kebbi or Kaduna or anywhere, have we lost our sense of gathering information to avert any or such key loss? We must ask our government to be up and doing because these bandits are always a step ahead.” he said.

Lamenting that insecurity had been politicized in the country, the Sultan said it does not have anything to do with religion but that of leadership.

“We are all in one big country where we have poverty. Yes, Muslims, Christians and even those who don’t have religion go to the same market and they buy the same foodstuff, enter the same vehicles and pay the same fares. So, it is not the issue of religion, let’s not tell ourselves that anybody is planning anything against Muslims or Christians. No; it is the issue of leadership and I have said many times that let’s have confidence in leadership that within the next few months something will change.”
