Is anyone else having issues logging into the DHA e-permit website? Every time I try to login, it says they are undergoing routine maintenance.

Can you pls share your timeline from EB1 submission with the uscis to invitation letter for interview at the U.S. embassy?

I wanted to chime in because I actually went through the EB-1 route a few years back. It was a bit of a process, but I managed to get my green card without needing a US employer. It’s a fantastic option if you have some solid achievements or advanced degrees. I know it’s not super well-known, especially in the Nigerian community, but it’s definitely worth exploring.

Do you mean the CEAC portal? It just shows "Submitted"

What does your status show on the portal? Please note that there's no specific term stating DQ.
DQ simply means NVC have reviewed your documents and fees and you're good to go. But that review only takes place after you've paid their fees.
The next stage is waiting for an interview date.

Your case is very similar to mine.

I applied from Nigeria and had a similar experience. I submitted my documents to the NVC in late October 2023, even though my Priority Date (PD) was January 2023 and not yet current. In November 2023, I received an acknowledgment from NVC that they had received my documents and would contact me when a visa was available. However, this acknowledgment did not mean I was documentary qualified (DQ).

My PD became current in the June bulletin for July 2024, and on July 1, 2024, I received an email from NVC indicating that I was now DQ. This means the NVC acknowledgment is different from the DQ notification.

So, my advice is for you to hang in there. My wait period after receiving an acknowledgment of the receipt of my documents from NVC was about 7 months.

Hi, please can anyone assist with the Telegram group link for the Employment base visa.

It has been over 3 weeks. Everytime I email them, they respond saying: “ We have received mail for your case” which doesn’t say much. Also, they acknowledged receipt of all my documents on June 14th.

I suggest waiting 2-3 weeks for NVC to acknowledge receipt of your documents. Make sure you sent them to the correct NVC center. If you haven't received a response after a few weeks, reach out to NVC by email. Include your NVC Case Number, IV Invoice ID, Beneficiary ID, and the date your shipment was delivered to NVC, and ask for the status of your documents.

Don’t bother with this people, they will never get it as most of them have never even left the shores of Nigeria. Nigerians are generally docile house coons when it comes to Yt people. And I get it, we within nigeria have been raised to worship the Yt man and have also perpetuated so much evil against ourselves that it’s easy to discount what you said. Granted, I do agree that a small percentage of Yt people are really good people but the percentage is so small that it’s always best to be on ur guard around them all because you never really know who hates you within.

Okay, I don't want to offend you, or come across as though that's my goal. Nothing but respect. Here's what your response brings to mind:

1.) I wonder how you were raised and how much love you have for your own people. I wonder if you're the type of person that constantly has negative things to say about your own people, and if you believe the propaganda that comes from whites. I wonder if you understand how people engineer certain conditions, or if you even accept that as possible.

2.) We can separate the norm from what is not. What you described is not the norm.

The people you described likely come from an environment full of dysfunction and trauma. That environment literally turns normal people into sociopaths. How? By disrupting normal biological and psychological development. By establishing the capacity to view/experience/execute abnormality as normal. By "breaking" things biologically and psychologically. You can actually describe in detail how this happens.

The nonblacks I describe think and behave this way regardless of the conditions they were born into. It is their norm.

For those of you who live outside Nigeria or are generally so busy that you cannot supervise the building if an apartment, would you rather hire a project manager or will you just buy a completely built brand new duplex in Lekki phase II. Also I hear that these agents are super greedy and uncouth, how do people navigate that?

Hi, this SOA you talked about, is it your personal SOA (self funding) or that of your sponsor?

Also, was your deficit below 6k or above? Did the vo asked to check your SOA? Lastly, is your interview recent?

I'm having similar situation with my SOA. Just three pages and no withdrawal.

Mine was one page and no withdrawal had been made in over a year.
You should be fine with a 6 month statement

The statement of the account I want to use despite having the required amount has very few transactions over the past year due to the fact that it was to be used for the sole purpose of studies and I should have left since August. So I just have a page and a half for a 7 month statement.
Is it good or do I go ahead to print statement for 2 years to increase the volume?

Any ideas of major vaccination centers on the mainland in Lagos will be appreciated

The reasons I outlined when applying for an emergency visa are:

"1. Research Assistantship funding - I am interviewing for paid research assistantship positions and a major issue I am having is convincing Professors that I will be attending the Spring semester in person. This is because I need to be on campus to utilize most of the resources available, like offline library services.

2. Experiential learning: I will be taking some experiential learning courses, which involves meetings at the United Nations office, traveling for meetings in Geneva and in-person discussions and classes, and I need to register early enough for these classes due to limited seats, in other to secure my place - I must show proof that I can meet the in-person requirements, which can only be done by obtaining a visa.

3. University Campus housing: In other to confirm my University housing booking, I must show proof of my ability and intention to be available in the Spring semester. The most incontrovertible proof that I will actually take up my university housing reservation is evidence of my Visa.

4. I need this emergency appointment so as to apply to my employers for a paid academic leave of absence. To facilitate my application, I must show my employers that I have secured a visa.

Finally, an emergency visa appointment will enable me plan my travel logistics. Especially so, in light of the ongoing pandemic, which necessitates I make early flight booking, put in place quarantine measures upon arriving USA and undertake any necessary tests or vaccines prior to my departure. Overall, this emergency visa will help me plan for any contingencies.

How do you intend to explain your access to the funds? Except you won a lottery or can prove that u are a millionaire heir or some other concrete proof,
My brother finish ur degree in Ukraine then apply to US for masters/PhD.
Tbh except u are going to Harvard, I see no point wasting all that money to go start another degree, and trust me, u will have to prove that to the consular officer.

But sometimes it doesn’t work, so it’s best to go with cash.

I have had to travel a lot, so I have decent experience in visa interviews. Even though I have never been denied a visa, for some reason I felt jittery and apprehensive about this particular interview, so I understand the anxiety most of you feel, but try to stay calm and focused on your goal. We will all be fine, eventually.

In answer to some of the questions:

Reciprocity fee is 42,900.

I specifically requested my school to send a new I-20 after the dates were changed. I didn't want to, but my brother insisted and said he will pay, so I avoid any issues. since he was paying I ordered a new I-20. Paid FedEx 85bucks.

I did not fill in a new DS-160, the old I-20 and the new I-20 carried all the same info, except start date which changed. But I remember that from the start, I filled in January as my start date. So if your start date is still reflecting September/Aug, please fill a new DS-160.

Try to avoid inconsistency at all costs, a guy was rejected because even though he was given full funding, his I-20 said 50% funding. Review ur I-20 for errors or discrepancy upon receipt.

Try to appear confident and calm

Finally, if you believe in God, PRAY, it works!

Also, Every single country I ever travelled to, I HAVE ALWAYS DONE EVERYTHING MYSELF AND AVOIDED AGENTS LIKE THE PLAGUE. Read and follow the instructions, if u are applying for F1 you are probably literate and computer savvy.

US Visa Approved!!!

Sent a strongly worded email with convincing points for an emergency visa appointment on Tuesday Night - 6th.


Received an email from the US embassy at 7.30am the next day - Wednesday, scheduling me for an interview on Friday at 6.30am.

Today, Woke up at 5.00am, joined hands with my sister to decree divine Favour.

Bath, dressed and booked an Uber, got to VI at 6.20am.

Went in for my interview at 7.00am

Sent back out because I did not print my DS-160 confirmation.

Rain flogged me, some soldier men even gave me umbrella my who cloth was wet.

A lady helped me to print the DS - 160 form, said I should pay her 5K, I didn’t have any money on me. Begged the lady and eventually paid 3500 outta my reciprocity fee.

Went back into the embassy.

VO: Good morning
Me: Hi, Goodmorning

VO: Pass me ur I-20 and visa and da-160 form

VO: where are u going
Me: Going to ...Ivy league school

VO: Great school, but very expensive too, how are u funding it?
Me: Received 80,000 USD in Fin Aid and taking a loan of 20K from my uncle to complete the rest.

VO: Ok, what does ur uncle do?
Me: My Uncle is a real estate developer and deals in wichtech roofing sheets.

VO: Any evidence of ur uncles ability to pay?
Me: before I could Pass him my uncles statement, he said I shouldn’t bother, he believes me.

VO: Have u travelled out before?
Me: Yes, I have been to the US, Germany France, Qatar, Kenya, Uganda...etc

VO: What did u go for?
Me: Explains

VO: Your visa has been approved, do u have the reciprocity fee?
I knew my reciprocity fee was short by 3500 but I answered yes, I did not want wahala.

VO: Go over there and pay, and enjoy ur stay in America

I go over there, praying for a miracle and the money to double...didn’t happen.
Went out and was looking for whom to borrow money from as I didn’t have my atm. One guy who just finished his interview saw me and asked what the problem was.
I told him, he then called his driver to bring money and dashed me 4K. I quickly begged him to wait for me, so I follow him and drop off at my stop.
He waited for me to pay the reciprocity fee and then told his driver to drop me off the stop close to my house.
