Hello everyone! Does anyone have an idea if the US consulate in Lagos is still receiving visa applications and scheduling interviews for non-immigrant visa at this time? |
Great points! |
Thanks for ur inputs. This bank is solid tho.. |
Hello guys, Please I need some advise. I just got an offer to run my Masters in one of the Top 3 Ivy League schools in the United States. The admission offer comes with a scholarship and a loan offer to cover the difference, including living costs, books and Accomodation. On the other hand, I got a decent full time offer in a Tier one commercial bank in Nigeria. If I accept the offer, I will have to pay about 2 million naira if I leave them before two years. This comes with a compulsory Car...payable over the next 5years at 0% interest rate. I’m in a fix because of the anti-immigration sentiments prevalent in the States at this time, I’m therefore unsure about my chances of securing a job thereafter if I decide to go for my masters. I am afraid of concluding my masters, bagging student loans and then being unable to get a job, and so having to come back to Nigeria and begin from scratch. Please any good advise is welcome, especially from folk with viable experience. MODs please help move this to FP to help me make a decision. Thank you! |
Please do not quit! You did not come this far to give up! Keep working hard until you graduate, on ur CV add ur course you do not need to add ur grades...I have seen people with pass grades get jobs while 2.1 candidates are rejected, without the pass grade persons knowing anyone. Goodluck Caio: |
For those who had the final interview this month for commercial - Contracts & Procurement, any feedback? |
Is anyone else scheduled for a Shell Assessment day? |
Things will get better, just stay focused and keep working to improve yourself. Shell is a great place to start, but there are tonnes of other better places such as the UN, World Bank, IMF... The opportunities are limitless once you stay positive and keep improving your competencies. What email did you correspond with? Was it careers@shell.com? I sent an email to the aforementioned address and after the automated response, received a second email from a Recruitment Services staff named ****presumably from outside Nigeria, saying my email has been forwarded to the right quarters and they would get back to me. My profile still reads under review. I hope this is a good sign. But in the interim, I have accepted the earlier offer I got, and already applying for further studies in Ivy League colleges, while still scouting for more prestigious int’l opportunities. I will encourage everyone waiting on Shell to do same, while expectantly refreshing ur emails everyday. Cheers to the good life brill1: |

What role did you apply for? I do not think persons who applied for commercial roles from Lagos have been called for final assessment. buskyobject: |

If I leave within 14 months, I will have to pay back the bonus with interest at 20% Please anyone with tangible info, share. So it can help me make my decision. |

The President’s daughter’s graduation occasioned much back slapping and celebration in Aso Rock and elsewhere with photos of her circulating widely on the Internet and appearing in print newspapers. Even Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina proudly splashed photos of Halima and her siblings, Zahra and Yusuf (who recently graduated from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom) with their father. President Buhari truly, extremely delighted by Halima’s graduation, had real cause to be. Last year, she had failed her Law School final examinations and so could not graduate with her colleagues in August 2015. She had to re-sit the examinations this year with the other two thousand plus students who failed like her. Halima’s failure was kept under wraps by the media, which did not want reports of her inability to graduate with her colleagues, to embarrass President Buhari. News of his daughter’s failure would have unsettled the President particularly as his own educational qualifications had been the subject of heated controversy before and during the 2015 presidential elections with a lawyer, Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaiwe taking him to court in order to compel him to produce his Secondary School certificate, which he said was with the army but which that institution denied having in its possession. Halima’s graduation last week therefore gladdened President Buhari, who, even though she managed to eke out a Pass Degree, known in Nigerian academic circles as “Let My People Go” degree, threw a lavish state banquet in her honour.
