Students under the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) Scholarship Scheme face untold hardship, rejection and abandonment due to the refusal of the government to live up to their own part of the bargain.
Have you ever felt cheated at petrol stations when you buy 10 litres but 7 litres is actually dispensed? Support one of our own for the solution to this menace by voting for a Nigerian Startup (Flowbyte) at the Global Startup Battle.
We all know that at filling stations, people are often cheated in the amount of petrol/kerosene they buy. Meter tampering is a normal thing.
Some friends of mine had an idea to stop this. They are designing a small device to calculate how much fuel enters your tank from the nozzle.
They are contesting for the Global Startup Battle to make this idea a reality. Please support us to do so by voting here: http:///flowbyte2, http:///flowbyte3 and http:///flowbyte4. They are competing in three categories and you can vote with as many email addresses as you have in all 3.
Thank you very much as you vote! Support Nigerian ideas so we can develop our country. Ideas rule the world! Nigeria rising!

Saved2Serve: the same thing i met. i just lucked up and faced it with God. All that will happen has already been destined from the onset, so hoarding info or not. The chosen of the Lord must stand. That is why i even didn't care to exchange phone contacts at interview venue because after my little inquiry and chit-chat with some guys who just bagged into me trying to know where i was working (just to gauge their chances). Siege Mentality! I discovered that they all were ardent followers of nairaland NLNG threads. They come and read - gain insights and gather info but won't contribute and share their own experiences and thoughts. I left the venue solo. Let us all stick to our isolation, no need to form alliance or team till we get to bonny, that is if it is God's wish that we even get to bonny.
I learnt something in this NLNG recruitment about connecting with people on nairaland even when it seems we all are chasing one common "limited" chances of success. A guy opened a thread asking who have received an invitation from NLNG, nobody responded. I responded to the guy in affirmation. We connected offline, and it happened that he graduated from my alma mata/department, but my junior at that and he had already collected his certificate, which i never knew was ready for collection. He told me to rush to school and pick up mine by all means so as not to jeopardize my chances at interview - for it looked some how for older grad to present statement of result while he the junior presented original certificate. I had 5days to get this before interview, God helped me, i did. Guess what? at interview, one candidate who graduated from same school with us came for interview but with statement of result. He is on this nairaland, he read that thread on our recruitment, yet he chose not to respond. had he communicated on that thread, he also would have known that our alma mata have started issuing out certificates. well, he was shocked to be singled out during accreditation and questioned why his junior (me) in school came with certificate and he (older set) came with statement of result? After the interview he called me to inquire in amazement if i really graduated from same school with him. I understood his surprise because i too have done all i could to get my certificate before but it met brick wall. No man is an island. Had he connected with us on nairaland he too would have known that his certificate was ready for collection. see in this life, nobody is in competition with me. I am only competing against myself - just to strive and beat my earlier records. simple!!
what am saying in essence is, guys ripe urself of these siege mentality and that feeling that you are competing against every naira, post and land. For me, what is mine is mine. if i dont get NLNG job, it is not as a result of what information i shared or how i gave out my success secret. No!! it is because it is not saved2serve's divine choice, though it may be humanly my choice. At the end of the day, i prefer divine courses to abound for me above my humanly wishes.
You have spoken well sir. May God grant you your heart desires
Hello xfire I'd love to commend you for the greatly inspiring work you're doing here. I've followed this thread since last year and I've introduced same to my friends. I'd love some guidance. I'm currently pursuing an MSc in an engineering field in one of the top 3 schools in the UK. What do you think I should be doing now asides my studies to get me the needed technical skills required to work in the oil and gas sector? Thank you
FKseun: MY FRIEND, YOU BETTER STOP SAYING WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW! WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT RIVERS STATE?
1. It's impolite to type in all caps. 2. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing according to Socrates. 3. I know Rivers State was created on the 27th May 1967. Lol
I believe the man Buhari is an upright man, but surrounding himself with these type of persons just like Jonathan did, beats my imagination. Ameachi has had a contribution to the condition of Rivers State having been in power for the past 16 years. It seems to me like we're going in circular motions in this country. ................ The motion just seems faster or more refined now.
midolian: There’s a wide range of Nigerian foods available today. The wide variety of ethnic communities found in Nigeria means that the nation located in West Africa has a varied and rich culinary tradition. Like other West African countries, most Nigerian Foods uses spices and herbs in combination with palm oil or groundnut oil in order to create deeply flavoured sauces and soups often made very hot with chili peppers. There are some staples and ingredients that cross the country’s state borders and there are lots ofNigerian foodsthat are not mentioned here but these are some of the foods we recommend you try when next you visit Nigeria. Nigerian foods consists mainly of rice, yam, cassava, plantain and beans just to name a few.
These are prepared and eaten with the various soups and sometimes stew recipes. Some Nigerian foods can also be prepared in jollof or porridge form.
This delicious Nigerian food comes with a soft bone inside otherwise known as (Okpukpu Agidi) . It is a very light food that can serve for either lunch or dinner and can also serve as a snack. It is usually wrapped in a leaf known as Uma leaf but you can also put it in a plastic container, or even aluminium foil. It’s a low-cost food, all that is needed is just a few ingredients to prepare, This is a must eat food for every Nigerian home.
Made from corn, this traditional food, when combined with Akara, Fried plantain or Fried Yam tastes so great. It is also a very nice and nutritious baby food. Evaporated milk added to Akamu, gives you a great taste.
This is a super Nigerian delicacy simply prepared by mixing a well cooked cow foot or cow head with a spicy palm oil paste. Usually served in exclusive restaurants. It goes very well with any kind of drink.
This food has its origin from the northern part of Nigeria It is prepared with a special quality of soft rice. It goes down well with Northern Nigerian soups and some other Nigerian soups as well.
This is a very great substitute for Egusi soup and both share the same method of preparation. Some of the ingredients you need are: peeled groundnut, assorted fish and meat, palm oil, fluted pumpkin leaves, crayfish, salt and pepper.
For this particular food, its preparation is fast and easy but that doesn’t cancel the fact that it is very rich in iron especially with the unripe one. It goes better with dried fish, or if you like, meat. Vegetable is a must for this delicacy.
Just as the name implies, it is a purely African Salad. Though most people still see it as a complete meal on its own, it is good to be taken as an in-between meal. Abacha is made from cassava.
Last year, Black Rhino and Dangote Industries announced a commitment to jointly invest up to $5bn over the next five years in energy infrastructure projects across sub-Saharan
The whole article didn't make sense to me till I saw the above.
MissTechy: If you are an active reader on MissTechy .com you'd remember when I asked if you had what it took to work at Google, In my opinion, if you can work at Google, you can work anywhere – here’s something similar to that.
I saw this Interview Questions on Glassdoor and I just felt it might be very useful to some of us given that most companies especially in Nigeria like copying these big tech guys. We all know that Apple is one of the biggest Tech companies in the World and to get a job there wouldn’t be so easy.
Glassdoor decided to make this easy by providing some questions Apple Inc uses to select their employees – I would be revealing 3 questions here that I feel are more brain tasking and require more brain knowledge. Is your brain equipped to answer these Apple’s Job Interview Questions? If Yes? Let’s do this
So who can answer any?

@costlessaz, the question above is very paramount to me. I read through the thread and didn't get a definite reply. ● Is it possible to get ONLY Tuesdays and Thursdays per week?
●am I right to assume that your daily subscription is #50 but #100 for Tuesday and Thursday? Thank you.
