PoliticsOkorocha Promises To Endinsurgency If Elected President In2015 by bruno419(op): 8:48am On Dec 04, 2014
Kaduna – Presidential aspirant on platform of All
Progressives Congress, Gov. Rochas Okorocha
of Imo, has promised to stop insurgency in
north east if elected president of Nigeria in
2015.
Okorocha made the promise when he paid
courtesy visit to the Arewa Consultative Forum
(ACF) in Kaduna on Wednesday.
He added that he would tackle other problems in
the area of education and youth unemployment.
“These are responsible for the country’s
insecurity
“I have the burning desire to change Nigeria for
good; my intention to become the president of
the country is for the benefit of the masses and
not for personal gain.
“This is because God has blessed me”, he said.
He added that his mission was to solicit the
support of the forum toward the success of his
presidential ambition.
“My coming to the ACF is to reaffirm my
relationship with the north because the people
of the region gave me the platform to be
educated.
“It is also to relate and make my intention
known to the north that I will be running for the
post of president in the country come 2015.
“Though ACF is not a political group, but I want
you to see me as a son. My records in Imo state
are such that can guarantee me a second term
as a governor, but as a president, I will do more
for the country at large.’’
Chairman, Board of Trustee of ACF, Alhaji
Ibrahim Commasie, urged Okorocha to redouble
his effort to emerge as the candidate of the
party during primaries.
Commasie said the forum would give support to
the winner of the primaries.
He advised other aspirants to rally round
whoever emerged candidate of the party in the
primaries and to shun hatred.

Naijasinglegirl:
I have been making most of my withdrawals across the counter since my ATM card got expired last month.

Anyway, I breezed into a random Diamond bank yesterday afternoon to withdraw money. Got the withdrawal slip and wrote out a whooping sum of two thousand, five hundred Naira. ( I had to spell it in full so the amount would seem huge)

My hands were stretched out nonchalantly to the female banker and when she raised her face to receive my slip, I recognise her as Seun, my room mate in my 200L.

'Damn!" I cursed. Not when I am appearing this shabby.

I should have added another zero to the N2500 if I knew I was going to bump into Seun. As girls who haven't seen each other in more than two years, there was bound to be some sort of comparison. I heaved a sigh when I remembered my account balance is just N22000.

"Lord have mercy! Naijasinglegirl? Is this yewwww?" she exclaimed, stretching out her short arms in an unsuccessful attempt to hug me over the counter.

She snatched my slip and gazed at me pitifully.

"Babezzz are things that bad? This one N2500 is bringing you to the bank. I could pay you from my pockets you know."

No thanks!

During our days in the university, Seun was a flippant part time student. We often teased her that her type may go as long as ten years without getting a job.
I even promised I was going to lend her my NYSC khaki to take Instagram photos in her backyard since part time students were not eligible to participate in NYSC orientation exercise.

Today, the wheels of fortune has spun in her favour.

I had to lie I actually came to the bank to withdraw 15K. I took the slip from her, tore it into two and wrote out another draft of 15K which she paid from my account.

On getting out, I had to board a vehicle to another branch of Diamond Bank to pay in the 12.5K balance sharp sharp! Zero tolerance for extravagance.

Last night, we had a lengthy conversation on phone.
She wanted to know why I was unemployed and I kept dismissing her with,

"Don't worry about me jare. I'm working on something."

"Something ke? Lie lie! You think this your good girl attitude would get you anywhere in this country? Don't you know I got my banking job through Chuwkudi, that my sugar daddy. If you didn't dull his friend your story would have been different today!"

Chuwkudi's friend was a stinking oil rich magnate in Portharcourt. I met him through Seun but there was a problem. He was married!

Seun is of the school of thought that there is absolutely nothing wrong in dating a married man so long as both parties share some fringe benefit in return.

Chuwkudi's friend was generous. He was ready to dash me one of Nigeria's oil well if only I was willingly to spread one of my legs to the South South and the other to the North East for him whenever he needed TLC.
Each time he came by my hostel, he would squeeze N10000 to N15000 into my palms for dinner.

During my first and unfortunately, my last tour to his company's lodge, he promised me an IT placement in Mobil. I was going to get an already furnished flat at his quarters after graduation. He was going to influence my NYSC posting to an oil company and of course, a well paying job upon completion of NYSC.
All these promises in exchange for my hymen...

"Sir, but I told you I cannot...I have not done this before..." I trailed off.

He tore off a page of his cheque book, scribbled something down and handed the paper over to me.

"This would be yours if you spend tonight with me. . . I would make you the envy of your friends." He swore.

Six hundred thousand Naira was written boldly on the cheque.

The highest amount of money that had ever been offered leisurely to someone in my family's genealogy. Honestly, It took a special level of grace to dropped the cheque on his table and walk out that door forever.

Did that singular 'goodgirl' attitude cost me my surest ticket to this good life I crave for? I hope not.

Many women think, I’ll respect him
when he earns it. But there’s a reason that
Ephesians 5:33 says, “Let the wife see that she
respects her husband.” As one friend said: “If
women could learn to understand that respect is
a man's native tongue, that it absolutely heals
his heart and ministers to him like nothing else,
it would make the biggest difference in the
world.”
Family10 Things Wives Should Stop Doing. by bruno419(op): 6:39pm On Dec 01, 2014
1. Stop thinking that your way is the “right”
way. If he does something differently, it does
not mean that it’s wrong. When a wife insists on
having her own way, she is in essence saying, “I
have to be in control.”

2. Don’t put others before your husband.

3. Don’t expect your husband to be your
girlfriend.most women are guilty of wearing out their husband
with countless conversational details that he doesn’t really care about. Now if he were a
girlfriend, all of those details would definitely
matter!

4. Don’t dishonor your husband.

5. Never use sex to bargain with your husband.

6. Stop reminding your husband about things
over and over.

7. Don’t make your husband earn your
respect.

8. Never look first to a book, a plan, or a
person to fix a problem in your marriage.

9. Stop putting housework ahead of hubby.
One young mom told her husband that she
didn't want to make love one night because she
had just changed the sheets and she wanted
them to stay clean. What do you think that
response said to her husband? Another woman,
who puts her husband ahead of the housework,
said: “Do not leave the unfolded laundry on your
marriage bed.”lol

10. Do not expect your husband to be Prince
Charming. After all, the perfect husband only
exists in fairy tales and your marriage exists in
real life. One young wife said that instead of
focusing on her husband’s shortcomings, she’s
learned to recognize the wonderful things about
him. What’s been the result? He’s been
encouraged to do even more to be the man of
her dreams.

PoliticsStop Antagonizing Jonathan's government, Ebenezer Babatope Tells Obasanjo by bruno419(op): 8:46am On Nov 27, 2014
By Henry Umoru

ABUJA- FORMER Minister of Transport, Chief Ebenezer Babatope has taken a swipe at former President Olusegun Obasanjo for criticising the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of being antagonistic to the government of the day.

Chief Babatope who is a member of the Board of Trustees, BoT of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said that insinuations that President Jonathan has supervised corruption in the country was completely wrong and grossly mischievous, even as he dismissed talk of President Jonathan encouraging ethnicity, insisting instead, the president is a ‘gentleman who has maintained the delicate balance of power’.
According to him, Obasanjo who had served this country should go into some comprehensive and responsible steps to help in addressing the economic situation of the country, rather than throw jabs at the system in ways that were gradually becoming unnecessary.

Chief Babatope who was reacting to chief Obasanjo’s latest comments on the president, stressed that his criticisms will stand the test of time, adding, “My attention has once again been drawn to comments by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, which are definitely antagonistic to the person of President Jonathan and also antagonistic to the PDP administration that president Jonathan heads.
“When he talked some few days ago that the performance of President Jonathan was below average, I felt so bad about it and I’m very happy that one of the major newspapers in Nigeria published my immediate reactions to that statement. I did not only say that former president Olusegun Obasanjo was wrong in bringing out those sentiment about President Jonathan but I felt that it was in bad taste and that what he said cannot stand the test of time.

Babatope said who said President Jonathan has performed well in office advised reasonable and objective minded Nigerians not to allow themselves to be misled into ‘believing matters that have no basis or connection with the reality’ particularly now that elections are near.
“With due respect to his age and the position he has held, it is wrong. Nobody has ever come out to indict President Jonathan of involving himself in acts of corruption. He has never encouraged it.

Like I said in a media chat recently, President Jonathan does not allow himself to be governed by sentiments and emotions. He allows all his functionaries to defend themselves whenever any charges are brought against them. What again do you want?”

LOKOJA—A lecturer with Kogi State University,
KSU, Anyigba, Associate Professor Justice
Olurotimi Otitolaye, has been reported killed by
cult members in the institution.
Vanguard gathered that Professor Otitolaye, who
had been championing war against examination
malpractice in the institution, was abducted
around Stadium Road, near the campus on Friday
night, on his way to a supermarket.
His bullet-riddled body was found in the early of
hours of Sunday at Ejule, which is about 8
kilometres away from the school.
The cultists were said to have fired sporadic
shots into the air to scare away people living
around the area before taking the lecturer to an
unknown destination.
The murdered lecturer, simply called Otis, was a
renowned agriculturist, who was a former pre-
degree director and a lecturer in Faculty of
Agriculture in the Department of Agric
Economics and Extension at the university.
Otis, who was said to be a jovial, nice and well-
respected person, also held a chieftaincy title
from his home town, Kabba, headquarters of
Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of the state.
The body of the lecturer has been deposited at
the university teaching hospital.
Some lecturers and students expressed shock
over the incident, and decried the incessant
killings in the institution.
They called on the management to take urgent
steps to address the ugly trend.
When contacted, KSU Chairman of Academic Staff
Union of Universities, ASUU, said the body had
summoned an emergency meeting to look into
the case of the murdered lecturer.
Meanwhile, a 400 level Mathematical Science
student of the school, Jimoh Faruk, has also
been killed by the cult group.
The student was killed, according to a source,
around the dreaded Stadium Road on Saturday
night.

SportsNFF To Send Keshi On Refreshercourse Abroad by bruno419(op): 5:09am On Nov 25, 2014
President of the Nigeria Football Federation,
Amaju Pinnick has given a hint that Super Eagles
coach Stephen Keshi won’t be fired by his

course abroad.
Upon announcing the sacking of Keshi a month

turned down the opportunity to go for refresher
courses to be sponsored by the board.

However, events took a different turn when an
order from the country’s president, Goodluck
Jonathan forced the NFF to reinstate the coach
and his technical crew.
According to Pinnick, his board is fully focused
on ensuring the Eagles prepare well for the 2017
AFCON and 2018 World Cup qualifiers by sending
the team handlers to new courses abroad to
broaden their scope and knowledge.
“In the short term package to reposition our
football we will send some of our coaches and
ex internationals to England for refresher
courses in match reading,” said Pinnick.
“They will also receive orientation abroad on
crisis management and other related courses
that would help us improve on the quality of
information to be given the coaches before,
during and after games.”
He also confirmed the Eagles will play most of
their friendly games at home starting with the
25 March 2015 friendly against Brazil at the Uyo
township stadium.
The idea of playing most of the proposed
friendly games in Nigeria is to showcase the
county’s huge tourism potential and culture as a
way of putting the country on a positive footing
in the eyes of the world.

PoliticsFG Threatens To Withdraw Discos’licences Over Rejection Of Loadingallocations by bruno419(op): 12:39am On Nov 25, 2014
By Chris Ochayi
ABUJA — The Federal Government, yesterday,
threatened to withdraw operational licences of
the electricity Distribution Companies, Discos,
that are rejecting electricity load allocations in
the country.
Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, who
issued the threat, while featuring at the 2014
Ministerial Platform to showcase his scorecard in
Abuja, blamed some Discos for refusing to stock
their warehouses with equipment to respond
speedily to customers’ demands.
Expressing disappointment over the
development, which makes it difficult for the
consumers to enjoy electricity supply, Nebo
therefore warned that, “from henceforth, any
Disco that rejects electricity load allocation
would be sanctioned or has its license
withdrawn.”
According to him, “the national grid is limited in
reach. The available electricity is insufficient to
meet existing power needs, in spite of shortage,
government is making effort to electrify the
rural communities.”
He said it was in a bid to bridge the electricity
deficit in the rural areas that the President
flagged off Operation Light Up Rural Nigeria
(OLRN) Initiative on January 13, 2014 at Durumi,
Shape and Waru in the FCT using renewable
energy.
The minister added that plans were underway to
replicate OLRN pilot across the 36 states of the
federation.
Nebo who pegged the current power generation
in the country at 4,600 megawatts said 5,500
megawatts of electricity would be achieved by
December end.
On stranded power in the country, Nebo said
government, in its efforts to get stranded power
unto the grid, identified a number of companies
willing to generate power and export to the grid.
The Federal Ministry of Power is coordinating the
process with its relevant agencies.
He explained that the companies are: Ajaokuta
Steel Company, 85mw; ALSCON, 100mw; Lafarge
Cement, 40mw; Obajana Cement Plc, 35mw;
Kaduna Refinery, 33.5mw; Geometric 22mw and

Jokes EtcArrest of Tambuwal: FG pouringpetrol on Unclad fire – APC by bruno419(op):
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned
that the reported plan hatched by the Presidency
to arrest House of Representatives Speaker
Aminu Tambuwal could trigger a crisis that will
be fatal for the nation’s democracy, hence there
is the need to jettison the plan out of abundance
of caution.
In a statement ,Saturday in Ijebu-ode by its
National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai
Mohammed, the party said the federal
government will be pouring petrol on a naked
fired by arresting the Speaker, following the
failed attempt to prevent him from accessing the
National Assembly to preside over the affairs of
the House of Representatives on Thursday, and
also in an apparent attempt to halt the current
move to impeach the President.
”Published reports have corroborated what we
know: That the plan on Thursday was to prevent
Tambuwal from entering the National Assembly
to pave the way for his Deputy, Emeke Ihedioha,
who had already been allowed into the House, to
preside over the removal of the Speaker. Were it
not so, why would the police even try to seize
the mace from the Sergeant-at-arms, as
reported? Why would the police detain the
Sergeant-at-arms for his refusal? What is the
business of the police with the mace, which is
the House’s symbol of authority?
”It has also now been corroborated that the
plan hatched by the PDP and the Presidency was
to give Tambuwal the ”Ekiti treatment”, in which
seven PDP members removed the Speaker in a
26-member House of Assembly. But for the
quick thinking and action by the Honorable
members who scaled the gate to access the
Assembly, that plan would have succeeded and
Tambuwal would have been removed as Speaker,
the consequences of which no one would have
been able to foretell.
