Okorocha made the promise when he paid courtesy visit to the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) in Kaduna on Wednesday. He added that he would tackle other problems in the area of education and youth unemployment. “These are responsible for the country’s insecurity “I have the burning desire to change Nigeria for good; my intention to become the president of the country is for the benefit of the masses and not for personal gain. “This is because God has blessed me”, he said. Tashamania:Many women think, I’ll respect him when he earns it. But there’s a reason that Ephesians 5:33 says, “Let the wife see that she respects her husband.” As one friend said: “If women could learn to understand that respect is a man's native tongue, that it absolutely heals his heart and ministers to him like nothing else, it would make the biggest difference in the world.” |
1. Stop thinking that your way is the “right” way. If he does something differently, it does not mean that it’s wrong. When a wife insists on having her own way, she is in essence saying, “I have to be in control.” 2. Don’t put others before your husband. 3. Don’t expect your husband to be your girlfriend.most women are guilty of wearing out their husband with countless conversational details that he doesn’t really care about. Now if he were a girlfriend, all of those details would definitely matter! 4. Don’t dishonor your husband. 5. Never use sex to bargain with your husband. 6. Stop reminding your husband about things over and over. 7. Don’t make your husband earn your respect. 8. Never look first to a book, a plan, or a person to fix a problem in your marriage. 9. Stop putting housework ahead of hubby. One young mom told her husband that she didn't want to make love one night because she had just changed the sheets and she wanted them to stay clean. What do you think that response said to her husband? Another woman, who puts her husband ahead of the housework, said: “Do not leave the unfolded laundry on your marriage bed.”lol 10. Do not expect your husband to be Prince Charming. After all, the perfect husband only exists in fairy tales and your marriage exists in real life. One young wife said that instead of focusing on her husband’s shortcomings, she’s learned to recognize the wonderful things about him. What’s been the result? He’s been encouraged to do even more to be the man of her dreams. #counter thread |

LOKOJA—A lecturer with Kogi State University, KSU, Anyigba, Associate Professor Justice Olurotimi Otitolaye, has been reported killed by cult members in the institution. Vanguard gathered that Professor Otitolaye, who had been championing war against examination malpractice in the institution, was abducted around Stadium Road, near the campus on Friday night, on his way to a supermarket. His bullet-riddled body was found in the early of hours of Sunday at Ejule, which is about 8 kilometres away from the school. The cultists were said to have fired sporadic shots into the air to scare away people living around the area before taking the lecturer to an unknown destination. The murdered lecturer, simply called Otis, was a renowned agriculturist, who was a former pre- degree director and a lecturer in Faculty of Agriculture in the Department of Agric Economics and Extension at the university. Otis, who was said to be a jovial, nice and well- respected person, also held a chieftaincy title from his home town, Kabba, headquarters of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of the state. The body of the lecturer has been deposited at the university teaching hospital. Some lecturers and students expressed shock over the incident, and decried the incessant killings in the institution. They called on the management to take urgent steps to address the ugly trend. When contacted, KSU Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, said the body had summoned an emergency meeting to look into the case of the murdered lecturer. Meanwhile, a 400 level Mathematical Science student of the school, Jimoh Faruk, has also been killed by the cult group. President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has given a hint that Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi won’t be fired by his board, but rather would send him for a refresher course abroad. Upon announcing the sacking of Keshi a month ago, Pinnick revealed the coach and his assistant turned down the opportunity to go for refresher courses to be sponsored by the board. Nigeria’s coach Stephen Keshi gives a press conference at the Baixada Arena in Curitiba on June 15, 2014, on the eve of their Group F 2014 FIFA World Cup football match against Iran. AFP PHOTO However, events took a different turn when an order from the country’s president, Goodluck Jonathan forced the NFF to reinstate the coach and his technical crew. According to Pinnick, his board is fully focused on ensuring the Eagles prepare well for the 2017 AFCON and 2018 World Cup qualifiers by sending the team handlers to new courses abroad to broaden their scope and knowledge. “In the short term package to reposition our football we will send some of our coaches and ex internationals to England for refresher courses in match reading,” said Pinnick. “They will also receive orientation abroad on crisis management and other related courses that would help us improve on the quality of information to be given the coaches before, during and after games.” He also confirmed the Eagles will play most of their friendly games at home starting with the 25 March 2015 friendly against Brazil at the Uyo township stadium. The idea of playing most of the proposed friendly games in Nigeria is to showcase the county’s huge tourism potential and culture as a way of putting the country on a positive footing in the eyes of the world. source: www.vanguardngr.com/2014/11/nff-send-keshi-refresher-course-abroad/ |

By Chris Ochayi ABUJA — The Federal Government, yesterday, threatened to withdraw operational licences of the electricity Distribution Companies, Discos, that are rejecting electricity load allocations in the country. Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, who issued the threat, while featuring at the 2014 Ministerial Platform to showcase his scorecard in Abuja, blamed some Discos for refusing to stock their warehouses with equipment to respond speedily to customers’ demands. Expressing disappointment over the development, which makes it difficult for the consumers to enjoy electricity supply, Nebo therefore warned that, “from henceforth, any Disco that rejects electricity load allocation would be sanctioned or has its license withdrawn.” According to him, “the national grid is limited in reach. The available electricity is insufficient to meet existing power needs, in spite of shortage, government is making effort to electrify the rural communities.” He said it was in a bid to bridge the electricity deficit in the rural areas that the President flagged off Operation Light Up Rural Nigeria (OLRN) Initiative on January 13, 2014 at Durumi, Shape and Waru in the FCT using renewable energy. The minister added that plans were underway to replicate OLRN pilot across the 36 states of the federation. Nebo who pegged the current power generation in the country at 4,600 megawatts said 5,500 megawatts of electricity would be achieved by December end. On stranded power in the country, Nebo said government, in its efforts to get stranded power unto the grid, identified a number of companies willing to generate power and export to the grid. The Federal Ministry of Power is coordinating the process with its relevant agencies. He explained that the companies are: Ajaokuta Steel Company, 85mw; ALSCON, 100mw; Lafarge Cement, 40mw; Obajana Cement Plc, 35mw; Kaduna Refinery, 33.5mw; Geometric 22mw and NESCO, 26mw respectively. source: www.vanguardngr.com/2014/11/fg-threatens-withdraw-discos-licences-rejection-loading-allocations/ |

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned that the reported plan hatched by the Presidency to arrest House of Representatives Speaker Aminu Tambuwal could trigger a crisis that will be fatal for the nation’s democracy, hence there is the need to jettison the plan out of abundance of caution. In a statement ,Saturday in Ijebu-ode by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the federal government will be pouring petrol on a naked fired by arresting the Speaker, following the failed attempt to prevent him from accessing the National Assembly to preside over the affairs of the House of Representatives on Thursday, and also in an apparent attempt to halt the current move to impeach the President. ”Published reports have corroborated what we know: That the plan on Thursday was to prevent Tambuwal from entering the National Assembly to pave the way for his Deputy, Emeke Ihedioha, who had already been allowed into the House, to preside over the removal of the Speaker. Were it not so, why would the police even try to seize the mace from the Sergeant-at-arms, as reported? Why would the police detain the Sergeant-at-arms for his refusal? What is the business of the police with the mace, which is the House’s symbol of authority? ”It has also now been corroborated that the plan hatched by the PDP and the Presidency was to give Tambuwal the ”Ekiti treatment”, in which seven PDP members removed the Speaker in a 26-member House of Assembly. But for the quick thinking and action by the Honorable members who scaled the gate to access the Assembly, that plan would have succeeded and Tambuwal would have been removed as Speaker, the consequences of which no one would have been able to foretell. source: www.vanguardngr.com/2014/11/arrest-tambuwal-fg-pouring-petrol-naked-fire-apc/ |
