Gadaffi ruled Libya for 42 years, they had, High standard of living. jobs, money, relatively peaceful and happiness.

Rebels/ democrazy now ruling for less than 3 months, mass killings, high unemployment, wars and "survival of the fiitest mentality".

Libyan agenda for next year are as follows: Bomb explosions, Libyans coming to Europe in their thousands in containers, wars, radical islamist fighting holy jihad, lastly second failed state in africa, funny thing is NATO wont have boots on the ground like they did in Afganistan and the mainstrean western media wont let the public know the true story about whats going on in libya

Even if MJ dont die now, he surely gonna be dead by the end of his concert in London, and that gonna b messy cos he wld have made

money for the promoters of the concert "this is it" knowing what we know now that the dude is a junkie, he surely wont be able to cope

with the gruesome schedule besides he gonna be drugs throughout and folks around him just gonna be there for what they can get

from him which is money while they pump him with chemicals &drugs to keep him going and eventually turning his to a zombie while

the promoters, agent etc will be instant millionaires while MJ suffers.

What really make me sick are his brothers and sisters, those people were never in his life when he was alive but in death they all came

out of the woodwork claiming how much they loved him but in reality those parasites  were all broke and skint, little wonder why

jermine jackson and latoya were appearing on big brother celebrity in london and elsewhere even one of the jackson 5 brothas was a

taxi driver. latonya in particular is some evil bitc.h, when MJ was accused of being a child molester some years back, she was the one

who came out and spoke out openly that MJ trully abuses kids, when MJ died, its was that stupi.d bitc.h who grace the front pages of

the UK newspaper dressed as a prostitute posing and selling her stories about MJ. you see the brothas making money from the demise

of MJ performing a cra.p version of jackson5, getting paid for interviews etc. the sight of latoya jackson screaming "VICTORY" is just

repulsive

The death of anyone is surely a sad and depressing thing, but im my view MJ early demise is a good thing, obviously not the way he

died but the timing of his death was perfect cos no promoters made money from his death and less law suits. Dr Conrad was just a

scapegoat and they just got him where they wanted him. RIP Micheal Jackson!!!

Business › Re: Capitalism Or Socialism: Which One Is Better? by Builder: 1:23am On Nov 03, 2011
It will be reckless and irresponsible for anyone to come on this thread and say one capitalism is better than socialism or any other form. obviously, socialism has worked fine in europe, moreso in the scandinavian countries and propably south america with the exception of some capitalist countries, but that cant be said the the USA, you see mass unemplyment, home forclousre, homlessness, and other societal ills.

"Under capitalism, the profit motive is supreme. Mathematics replace morality in the sense that profitable activity thrives and all other activity is supressed. Problems arise from activities which are financially productive but socially destructive. Love is fundamental to human welfare and yet, because it leads to activity such as sharing, caring and giving away, it runs counter to economic ‘progress’, so those activities which promote love are discouraged, while those which discourage it are promoted. Inadvertantly perhaps, the capitalist system rewards selfishness but punishes altruism."

Take a close look at the problems of the world today and you will know why capitalism have runned its course, how could you ever justify 1% of the world population owning and controlling 90% of the worlds capital ever wondered what the occupy "wall street" or the G20 protest is always about? or ever asked yourself why its only those countries that call themselves democratic and capitalist are always the first to exploit and invade another sovereign country? We have seen what socialism have done in countries like Libya, Venezuela, it reinvest the profits of the country on the people so all have a decent standard of living. Obviously, socialism or any other system is perfect but countries around the world should be free to choice which form suits it most and not be forced to practice a system that will never benefits the people but enslave the people, an example is nigeria. China and Cuba including a host of other countires out there should be appluaded for chosing and sticking to a system that suits them rather than be bullied arround.

Around the world , we have different races, different religions, cultures and values. countires should be free to have different econmical and governmental systems as well

A brilliant article by Ed Felien

Barack Obama tried to explain the U. S. war against Libya on Monday, March 28, and he said a number of things that simply are not true.

He said, “Gaddafi had lost the confidence of his people.” Compared to most other Arab countries, Gaddafi seems to enjoy widespread if not universal support. The city of Benghazi is an isolated exception.

thanks to the “Arab Socialism” policy of the government as well as bountiful petroleum exports, the Libyan people enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the Arab world. Most Libyan families own their own homes and most Libyan families own an automobile.

“The free public health system in Libya is one of the best in the Arab world and Libya’s free education system up to the graduate level is as good if not better than any other in the region. “So the question is, why has a revolt broken out?

“The answer, which I have been intensely researching for the past month is not a simple one.

“The revolt started in Benghazi in eastern Libya. A very important point not mentioned anywhere in the international media is the fact that due to geographic location, being one of the closest points to Europe from the African continent, Benghazi has over the past 15 years or so become the epicenter of African migration to Europe. At one point over a thousand African migrants a day were pouring into Libya in hopes of arranging transport to Europe.

“The human trafficking industry, one of the most evil, inhumane businesses on the planet, grew into a billion dollar a year industry in Benghazi. A large, vicious underworld mafia set down deep roots in Benghazi, employing thousands in various capacities and corrupting Libyan police and government officials. It has only been in the past year or so that the Libyan government, with help from Italy, has finally brought this cancer under control.

“With their livelihood destroyed and many of their leaders in prison, the human trafficking mafia have been at the forefront in funding and supporting the Libyan rebellion. Many of the human trafficking gangs and other criminal elements in Benghazi are known for racist pogroms against African guest workers where over the past decade they regularly robbed and murdered Africans in Benghazi and its surrounding neighborhoods. Since the rebellion in Benghazi broke out several hundred Sudanese, Somali, Ethiopian and Eritrean guest workers have been robbed and murdered by racist rebel militias, a fact well hidden by the international media.

“Benghazi has also long been a well-known center of religious extremism. Libyan fanatics who spent time in Afghanistan are concentrated there and a number of terrorist cells have been carrying out bombings and assassinations of government officials in Benghazi over the past two decades. One cell, calling itself the Fighting Islamic Group, declared itself an Al Queda affiliate back in 2007. These cells were the first to take up arms against the Libyan government.”

Obama said, “Gaddafi chose to escalate his attacks.” From the outset the Libyan revolt was different from the rest of the non-violent revolts in the Middle East and North Africa: it was a violent revolt led by gangster elements and Islamic fundamentalists. The press has conveniently ignored this distinction.

Obama said, “I authorized military action to stop the killing and enforce U N Security Council Resolution 1973.” The very first statement of the U N Resolution says, “1. Demands the immediate establishment of a ceasefire and a complete end to violence and all attacks against, and abuses of, civilians;” The U. S. has spearheaded an offensive against Libyan forces in direct violation of a ceasefire and an end to violence.

The Resolution, “Decides to establish a ban on all flights in the airspace of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya in order to help protect civilians;” The U. S. with its allies has established air superiority, but it is not complying with the ban on all non-humanitarian flights. It is not possible to verify, but it is very likely that the U. S. is sending mercenaries and arms to aid the rebels in direct violation of the U. N. Resolution establishing an arms embargo.

Obama said he had promised “we would not put ground troops into Libya.” While it is obviously true that no combat troops in uniform have landed on “the shores of Tripoli,” it seems very likely that with hundreds of thousands of paid mercenaries in the immediate area and tons of military hardware, the U. S. is most certainly playing a covert support role to the rebels with boots and guns on the ground.

Obama said, “Our military mission is narrowly focused on saving lives.” Clearly the mission is to support the rebels, continue advancing to Tripoli and overthrow Gaddafi.

Then Obama tried to articulate the Obama Doctrine to justify intervention, “Some question why America should intervene at all – even in limited ways – in this distant land. They argue that there are many places in the world where innocent civilians face brutal violence at the hands of their government, and America should not be expected to police the world, particularly when we have so many pressing concerns here at home.”

In Bahrain the king brought in foreign troops from Saudi Arabia to fire on protestors, and the U. S. did nothing. There have been demonstrations against the feudal autocracies in Morocco and Saudi Arabia and the U. S. did nothing. We have been mildly critical of President Saleh, but we continue to supply him with guns and technical support to suppress dissent. We are outspoken against Syria because Syria, like Libya, is a socialist country.

Most people in the world understand that the main reason the U. S. and NATO want to bring down the Libyan government is because they produce millions of gallons of oil, and a more sympathetic government would make it more profitable for American and British oil companies to do business there.

Obama concluded his explanation by saying, “That is why we are going after al Qaeda wherever they seek a foothold.” This was the most bizarre lie of the evening. Gaddafi has been fighting al Qaeda since 1995. Al Qaeda elements were part of the Benghazi uprising. We are allied with al Qaeda. They are a major part of the rebels.

In an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, who fought against the U. S. in Afghanistan, said he has recruited around 25 men to fight against Gaddafi. According to Praveen Swami of the Guardian, “U. S. and British government sources said Mr. Al-Hasidi was a member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, or LIFG, which killed dozens of Libyan troops in guerrilla attacks around Derna and Benghazi in 1995 and 1996.” Obama knows we are allied with al Qaeda. He knows there has been a civil war in Libya between the secular, feminist and socialist government of Gaddafi and Islamic fundamentalists for almost 20 years.

Obama lies about Libya

By Ed Felien

Barack Obama tried to explain the U. S. war against Libya on Monday, March 28, and he said a number of things that simply are not true.

He said, “Gaddafi had lost the confidence of his people.” Compared to most other Arab countries, Gaddafi seems to enjoy widespread if not universal support. The city of Benghazi is an isolated exception. Thomas C. Mountain has been following events in Libya for 25 years. Here is his assessment:

“In 1969 when Col. Gaddafi came to power by overthrowing the Libyan king in a military coup, Libyans were one of the poorest people in the world with an annual per capita income of less than $60.

“Today, thanks to the “Arab Socialism” policy of the government as well as bountiful petroleum exports, the Libyan people enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the Arab world. Most Libyan families own their own homes and most Libyan families own an automobile.

“The free public health system in Libya is one of the best in the Arab world and Libya’s free education system up to the graduate level is as good if not better than any other in the region.

Politics makes strange bedfellows. The major theme of American foreign and domestic policy for the last hundred years has been anti-communism. From the intervention against Russia in the 1920’s and the Red Scare in the U. S., through the Cold War and the McCarthy hearings, American foreign and domestic policy has been driven by a defense of capitalism and a hatred of socialism or communism.

That fixation and oil are the reasons we intervened against the Baath Socialist government in Iraq. Those are the reasons we are intervening against the government of Libya. And that’s why the FBI hounded the anarchists for two years for organizing protests against the Republican Convention, and that’s why the FBI is hounding the Freedom Road Socialist Organization today.

It seems, no matter whom you vote for, that’s the kind of government that always wins.

LOL, Obama is a sell-out and a war criminal no wonder his father ignored the rat. I cant believe he said this about Gadaffi, but he decided to ignored the rats in saudi arabia and other useless punks in the arab world. in june this rat met with  Ali Bongo of Gabon, ‘Omar Bongo and now his son Ali Bongo have for more than 40 years run a regime in Gabon which diverts their country's wealth for their family's personal use’ and he thinks this is democracy!!!!

How dare obama !!!!. refering to gadaffi that rat obama further said "We gave him ample opportunity, and he wouldn't do it,", how does he mean he was given ample opportunity, oh, i guess by indiscriminate bombing and killing innocent libyans and destroying the infrastructures and amenities it took years if not decades to build, its clear this rat needs a reality check.

This rat is busy banging on about democracy, does he thinks his people are democratised, with the suffering confusion and povery they are going thru. obama in my view is worst than goerge bush many times and over, this rat- face won the noble peace prize on basis of peace he bought to the world, yeah right. This evil man talks the talk and when it was time to walk the walk he turned cripple, before his presidency he was seen to be an anti war man, but he is the master of war and deception, pre-election he was all for palestine having their statehood, when he got there he changed mind , he keeps talking about the arab spring but for palestine he left them in the cold, yes, arab winter. what a plonker and two face rat the ignoramus is. I am surely ashamed to have supported this id.iot.

Sad to see a picture of him and gadaffi shaking hands and exchanging  smiles and pleasantries. im sure the conversation btw them would be " how are you and hope you family are doing fine" but gadaffi never knew this same man wld orchestrate the wipe out of his family. May obama family never know peace and be wiped out by a suicide bomber the way way he and his NATO alliance wipe out the libyan citizens

@ Texazzpete, I hope I don’t have to repeat this again, its getting boring and repetitive except for those who are used to swallowing the media peopaganda. i will try and answer ur question as much as i can

(1) The great leader used Libya’s oil money to support groups fighting for self-determination (such as the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), the Irish Republican Army (IRA), and theAfrican National Congress (ANC), hence, his friendship with Mandela. i sure hope all misconception on this issue is cleared

(2) The only witness to the lockerbie bombing over scotland was a Tony Gauci, who was paid a toal sum of $2 million just to testify by the americans, besides, At the trial, Tony Gauci appeared uncertain about the exact date he sold the clothes in question, and was not entirely sure that it was Megrahi to whom the cloths were sold. Nonetheless, Megrahi's appeal against conviction was rejected by the Scottish Court in the Netherlands in March 2002 inspite of the inconstitences in the witness statement. besides, did you know that Iran Air Flight 655 (IR655) was a civilian jet airliner shot down by U.S. missiles? i guess not

For more on the lockerbie issue, i encourage you to read/google the below articles, reports and finding and stop listening to fox news

"How ‘unreliable’ Tony Gauci gave Lockerbie its Libyan suspect – dossier"

"Maltese shopkeeper offered ‘unlimited funds’ for Lockerbie testimony"

"Deception over Lockerbie"

"The Lockerbie Bombing; The Government, Facts, and Deception"

Lockerbie was Mossad “false flag” operation

(3) with regards to you stories about the oppressed libyans, i dont know where you are getting your stories from, for your info, libyans enjoyed a better quality of life than folks in the USA under gadaffi, they dont have the problems of fore clousure, free health care, free education, they dont suffer the sort of high unemplyment suffered by the americans, it seem u have very limited exposure about how the invasion started in libya, i will leave you to wallow in ur ignorance

RIP Gadaffi

Though i have never been to libya before, but i have friends not i, 2 ,3 4 or 5, i have more than 10 friends that confirm what the poster said, libya was a nanny state it gave its citizens good lifee, liberty, justice and equallity. the reason the imperialist got rid of gadaffi is simple. OIL and his relentless pan-africanism

In 1992, 45 African nations formed RASCOM (Regional African Satellite Communication Organisation) aimed at bringing down the cost of communications in the continent. Africa was paying some US$ 500 million a year as satellite fees to French and other European companies, and the call charges in the continent were the highest in the world. RASCOM had a plan to launch its own African satellite. The project would cost US$ 400 million. For 14 years, they went behind the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and other donors. These imperialist-run institutions made borrowing difficult by placing tough conditions, unperturbed, the comrade offered US$ 300 million of his country's money. My Question to Anti-Gadaffi people on this thread is . Do you think if the only thing libya produces is lectuse and brocholi, do you think the NATO will invade libya? without going into much detail, try and google the gold dinar and african oil or perhap read this linked article "http://www.goldstockbull.com/articles/libya-invasion-gaddafi-plan-gold-dinar"

Gadaffi throughout his leadership have been against occupation of any sorts, yes, he did supported the mandela campaign for freedom against the europeans, he was there for the IRA same as the USA, he was there for the black sudanese , he was also there for other oppressed people in the world.

Though its been documented that the great man was ousted because his people no longer needed him there, just 1% of his people dont want him againt the 99% that want him, unfortunately the NATO and the impreialist saw that , together with their media propaganda the end was near for the great man. As at oct 22, the obama administration rating is just a mere 42%, that means 50% of the american people dont wwant him, moreso, David Cameron's personal rating is now in negative territory While 42% say he is doing a good job, 47% say bad. with this statistics, does that means NATO should now invade and kill this head of states?

Gadaffi is no saint, during his reign, some people did died, directly or indirectly mostly radical islamic fundamentalist and he was supported by the west in taking care of this radical islamist. Nobody have killed thier citizens more than Geroge Bush and tony blair for sending the american and british innocent souls to an illegal war but you never read about this evil tyrants. Gsdaffi was called a dictator, tyrant, mad dog etc, yet, the likes of Prince charles, tony blair, gorden brown, nicolas sackozy, belusconi, obama , hillary clinton and other western diplomats shook his hand, dined and wined with him within the last 3 years of his life, what has change within now and then?

we have seen the asssinations of progressive african leaders from patrice lumumba to savimbi to mugabe and now gadaffi. isnt it time africans open their eyes and see the evil the white imperialist are and their determination to invade, enslave the people of africa, the modis operandi is always the same, character assasinate them b4 u let his people finish the job.

Libyans seek democracy, i give them 42 months , lets wait and see.

The most disturbing thing about Nigeria and Nigerians is that we dont know what they want. the west have had us in the palm of their hands for too long and any changes made by nigeria wont last and may bring forth destruction sponsored by the west. they sold us slavery, now its democracy, nigerians need to know that we dont need democracy, all we need is liberty, justice, equality and above all a government that serves the needs of his people. Nigeria following the footstep of china is something i dont see hapening because it conflicts with the fundamental principles democracy yet we complain about how our culture is been eroded away by the western ones.

Its high time we do away with the western values, cultures and religion and seek to replace it with what suits the nigerian populace, yet, it may not be perfect but atleast its ours.

We have seen how the likes of Patrice Lumumba, Abiola, Savimbi, Mugabe and Mandela were character assassinated when they refuse to play along with the

west, now it’s the turn of Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi. Don’t we ever learn from history!!!!

Im i wrong in saying that the anti-gadaffi folks on this thread are the ones spewing insult, abusive words when they dont have their way, this thread is about

condolennce for the great comrade. if you are against what he stood for, why not ignore the thread and move on supporting George bush, tony blair. simples!!!

which kind human being you be, despite something is free doesnt mean it should be amongst the top 10. dem use top 10 do una? anyways back to the topic, if gadaffi were a nigeria, nigeria would have been a peaceful and socialist country where folks can earn a good living and no corruption, yes we may have no election but we can good roads, electricity, social amenities and good infrastructure, even with all the sanctions levelled against the comrade and his people his acheivements are there to be seen. RIP Comrade Gadaffi, u will surely be missed

GeJ's silence on Gadaffis death is deafening but atleast the he should condemn the barbaric manarisms of which he was killed, or does he wants to ask the USA ambassador to Nigeria to give him the go-ahead. Having watch the bbc,sky and other mainstream channels of how this noble man was slaughtered, i cant but feel some sence of anger and disbelif that no head of state have spoken out and comderm his killing, what about the saying that innocent till proven guillty, this just shows how senceless, gutless this ignorant world leaders are. even if a dog is killed this way in most western countries u see them asking for the full force of the law on whoever killled the animal. This just goes to show what new government we have in africa, NTC, a government with no respect for human lives. Welcome to the real world libya, i give libya just 18months and Iraq will be like childs play while the western government drill your oil and pollute your environment.

My deepest condolence to the supporters and familiy of Gadaffi, i hope as time goes on they find forgivesness and peace within themselves

PS. When osama bin laden was killed, obama said his body his too gruesome to be shown to the public, but gadaffis death and body is not that bad, this was a man OBaMA shook hands with, i wonder who is more evil now, surely change we can believe in

viv4viv, surely im one of the shallow minded folks u are referring to, but all im asking u is simple question, show me evidence he killed his people , prove kinks or anything, i wonder why some ignorant people just open flex their phalanges and type lies, false accusations, you dont have to like gadaffi but spreading propaganda lie is backward and just pure senceless. i can bet my life that there are many africans who will die to be ruled by gadaffi for 50 years plus than be rukes by some african democratically elected muppet.

below are some of the achievements of gadaffi, and whilest u still reading try andgetme prove that gadaffi killed someafricans

The living standards of Libyans have improved significantly since the 1970s, ranking the country among the highest in Africa. Urbanization, developmental projects, and high oil revenues have enabled the Libyan government to elevate its people's living standards. The social and economic status of women and children has particularly improved. Various subsidized or free services (health, education, housing, and basic foodstuffs) have ensured basic necessities. The low percentage of people without access to safe water (3 percent), health services (0 percent) and sanitation (2 percent), and a relatively high life expectancy (70.2 years) in 1998 indicate the improved living standards. Adequate health care and subsidized foodstuffs have sharply reduced infant mortality, from 105 per 1,000 live births in 1970 to 20 per 1,000 live births in 1998. The government also subsidizes education, which is compulsory and free between the ages of 6 and 15. The expansion of educational facilities has elevated the literacy rate (78.1 in 1998). There are universities in Tripoli, Benghazi, Marsa el-Brega, Misurata, Sebha, and Tobruq. Despite its successes, the educational system has failed to train adequate numbers of professionals, resulting in Libya's dependency on foreign teachers, doctors, and scientists.

Many direct and indirect subsidies and free services have helped raise the economic status of low-income families, a policy which has prevented extreme poverty. As part of its socialist model of economic development,

"Don't believe the hype. Gaddafi is being built up into a pantomime devil with plenty of accusations but very little objective factual evidence. He stood up to bully boy Western governments and the internationalists, defied the World Bank and Federal Reserve vampires and kept Libya debt free. And now he is dead. Join the dots"

MSdarkskin, i started reading ur rather voluminous lyrics in the middle but when i looked up and saw CNN i understood why ur views are rather simplistic and far from the truth, just a question, how do u mean he ruled by iron fist, how u mean iron fist, u said he never really meant a one africa, why then did he invest so much money in africa. thank goodness no everyone share ur cnn view of gadaffi
