I don't know a lot about Eckankar and it's doctrines, but from the little I know, the term "soul travel" and "astral projection" are not exactly the same thing.

Secondly, this your research and the conclusion you drew from it still seems a bit far fetched. Do you mind posting links or peer reviewed articles to back up your claims. Please post those that specifically indicts Eckankar members of having sex with demons.

I think I misused the term "research" in my response. I ought to have say "a search on google". Soul travel and astral projection are both out of body experience. The only difference being that astral projection stops at the astral plane. The reference to sex with spirit entities was cited as my findings on what sometimes happen when people engage in soul travel. It was not referring specifically to Eck members. There are so many New Age/Occult organizations that teach soul travel/astral projection. My search on google was referring to these practise generally. So, there is no peer reviewed article to present to you.

I did some research on astral project/soul travel when I saw OP,s post. So, sex with spirit entities or other members of the sect during soul travel is a reality. If he shares all his experiences during his long sojourn with Eckankar, you will hear some startling things from his mouth. That is if he chose to share them.

Eckankar encourages people to leave their bodies and travel to dimensions/planes where they meet with all kinds of spirit beings. Sometimes, they even have sex with these beings. These entities that they interact with when they soul travel is nothing but demons! Why would someone want to be friend with demons?

Eckankar is a Religion on its own and definitely not like Scientology or WICCA. it is The Path of Spiritual Freedom, Ancient Wisdom for Today and its teachings centres on Soul going back home to God to become a Co-Worker with God.

I tried to google how Eckankar started. I learnt the the founder, Paul Twitchell was an ex-Scientologist and a member of Surat Shabd Yoga. Eckankar is a very dangerous organization. Soul travel/Astral projection, which is the core of experiencing the light and sound of the ECK god is very dangerous. You need to quit asap!
