Literature / Re: Memorable Stories From English Secondary School Textbooks!!!! by BukkyDan(f): 7:38am On Oct 21, 2013
Jibsonified: Well I had to graduate the nostalgic feeling from Primary to Secondary...

In my own time from JSS1 to JSS3 Intensive English rocked... I can remember the story of Sango's wives Osun and Oya.. I guess it's Oya that cooked her ears So as to copy Osun's delicious food of mushroom... Sango got angry and he transformed to lightining while His wives transformed to river and they keep fighting even till today!!...

But from SS1- SS3 English Project came with one kain swag ... I remembered d story of d 419 Hare who took advantage of the ignorance of the other animals...

Let's keep d Nostalgia going by posting ur most memorable stories!!!!! cheesy cheesy

lol @ Sango's wives, I concluded that Osun was wicked then, how could she be that cruel...lol

the tortoise story at the market place, I think that should be Intensive English book one.

Used Intensive English till SSS3 though...
The African child..# I remember reading it till 3am#

mrgreen4real: MR ALABI AND THE STOBBURN GOAT. Alabi had lost six goats to a wolf on a mountain. I remember a poem MR NOBODY " I knw a funny little man
as quiet as a mouse
Who does the mischief tha is done
in every body's house..."

lol @ Mr Alabi's beautiful goat, "she cries meee....everyday cos she's unhappy"

Mr Nobody
I know a funny little man as quite as a mouse, who does the mischief that is done in everybdy's house. There's no one ever sees his face but yet we all agree, tis he who pulls the buttons from our shirts and make the carpet soil, he put damp woods in the fire so kettles cannot boil....

Railway
Children by the railway dancing round, ...cars by the railway....

Can't rember the title if this one though...
Down by the river side the green grass grows.
There sits nene washing her clothes, she sings so sweet.
Playmates won't you come for tea? Come next sunday at half past three. Tea cakes, pan cakes everything you'd see...

Those sweet memories...lol

Sasha struggled out of bed, the wetness she felt underneath made her pray she didn't wet her bed; what would the world say of an eighteen year old girl wetting her bed?
She pulled the covers of the bed and her eyes almost popped out. The wet substance simply designed her sparkling white bed sheets, gasping she turned to mirror to view her behind only to find out that it gave her creamy night wear a horrible floral design.

"Oooh" she groaned looking at the sheets , that was why she preferred her smaller bed and green coloured sheets, the stains eaisly came off, but how in God's name would she be able to wash the new extra large white sheet without her family getting to know whats up.

"Sassy..." the door burst open.

"Zobo!" she hissed quickly pulling the covers over the stained sheets.

"Morning Sassy." Kenny bounced into the room alongside her siblings, they were looking so excited.

"Mawning" she murmurred backing away from his hug.

"Are you okay? Don't tell me the party is still having effects on you." Kenny teased.

" And don't tell me you're still in not fully awake?" Cassandra said sitting on the bed.

"Get off my bed! Don't touch anything there!" Sasha screamed.

Cassandra jumped startled...
"Are you okay?"

"Dunno." she pressed her back against the wall.

"What are you hiding?" Kenny walked up to her.

"Muummmmy!" Sasha squealed.

"Ehen? What are you naughty kids doing? Haven't I warned you never to disturb my daughter?" Barbra walked in.

"Don't bother giving her a hug she just screamed at us." Kenny wore a long face.

"Mummy please ask them to leave now..."
"Please...I need to talk to mum now." she addressed her siblings.

They filed out of the room silently.

"Mummy...when you were 'redesigning my room? Where did you keep some of my things?" Sasha asked.

Barbra gave her a blank stare.

"Like my stuffs...like..." Sasha stammered.

"Talk to me, you need anything?" Barbra moved closer to her.

"Mum you have errm...like...errrm...you have Sanitary pads?" she continued to stammer.

"Pads? What do you need them for?"

"I need them for this!" Sasha turned her backside to her mother so she could have a full view.

"Oh my God! When did you..."

"I started since I was 13 or there about...please mum, the least I need now is questions and that surprised look on your face...please help" Sasha cut her short.

"Er... Cassie should have some..."

"Cassie! She's gonna laugh at me!" Sasha screamed.

"Don't worry, just run a bath, I'd get it for you." Barbra was trying as much as she could to fight back tears. When did her daughter start flowering? Who taught her or gave her all the things she needed?

**********
"I cooked specially for you." Williams smiled as he spoon-fed his daughter.

Sasha smile with gratitude, but deep within her she felt sick, they should stop doting on her like a two year old. Imagine her father feeding her cornflakes? She was trying her best not to puke.

"Kola said you drove them out of your room?" Willams asked after she stopped eating.

"I had to." she replied.

"Why?"

"Mum knows why...thanks for the nice breakfast."she smiled.

"Sassy..."Kenny's head poked into the room.
"hear me out before you chase me away again o... A chinese movie is on, I just felt I should inform you." he said quickly withdrawing his head.

"Go apologise to them, they all sulking away." Williams urged kissing her.

"yea...thanks once again dad." she hopped off the bed leaving him to clear the plates.

"see guys...I'm sorry for screaming at you..." she apologised when she got to the living room.

"Yea...mum told me why." Cassandra winked.

"And I eavesdropped." Kenny smiled.

"Holly..." Sasha felt like sinking to the floor.

"Tell me why you love chinese movies.." Ashley asked taking a seat in the living room.

"I..." her voice trailed off. She loved Kungfu cos of its theme 'vengeance' , she had always promised to avenge all her defaulters but now..
"I don't like it anylonger." Sasha sighed

"hmmm... Joyce asked me to say hi to you, she asks you to forgive her." Cassandra informed her.

"Joyce where's she?" Sasha's eyes glinted.

"She's gone." Williams strolled in with Jide.

Sasha laughed, its reason she couldn't fathom.

"Oluwa ese gan o...aahh, Inu mi dun gan ni o..." Barba half ran out of room excitedly.
"Tunji just called o, he arrived Lagos and met Kemi in labour o....the twins arrived just now- a boy and a girl."

the room was filled with squeals and shouts of joy.

"I'm finally a grand pa!" Williams hugged his wife.

"yea...we're gonna bully those kids!" Kenny gave Sasha a high-five.

It was a long time coming, the family went through a lot of tribulations, Kemi's marriage shook, Barbra nearly lost her place, Sasha nearly died..but against all odds they prevailed.
DESPITE ALL ODDS, the Williams are strong again.

Jide tip-toed quitely to the kitchen, he'd woken up only to discover his wife was missing. After a whole night of party-ing, everybody slept off in an awkward manner.
The metallic sounds coming from the kitchen affirmed his thoughts that his wife was in the kitchen- she loved kitchen work to bits, and he wondered why she wouldn't spare someone else's kitchen, they were in her sister's house for God's sake.
Ashley was busy with her pot and spoon, she was warming up the left over rice. Her plan was to eat up the rice before anybody wakes up, the party rice was so sweet that she dreamt of it.

"I knew it!" Jide said startling her.

"Hey..." she tried to compose herself.

"we're still in someone's house, stop raiding their kitchen." Jide chided.

"A good morning kiss won't kill you." Ashley frowned, her husband should mind his business.

"Not when you left me to go to someone's kitchen."

"Someone? Or my sister?" Ashley continued to stir her rice.

"What are you cooking?" Jide suddenly noticed the pot on the burner.

"don't even come near my rice o."

"Which rice?" Jide edged closer.

"party rice." Ashley emptied it into a plate.

"Its too early to eat, its just a few minutes past 6am"

"Good...so mind your business." Ashley relaxed by the sink, in readiness to savour her food.

"Wow...thats so inviting" Jide licked his lips.

"See...I'm warning you o"she wagged a finger at him.

"Okay...lets strike a deal...give me your rice and I'll give a most romantic morning." Jide stretched forth his palm.

"Do I look like Kenny that you would bribe? I own my husbands body; I can have it anytime-anywhere... so wheres the deal here?" Ashley laughed.

"Give that rice to me or I take it by force."

"For..." Ashley paused when she heard a knock.
"Oooooh..." she hissed.

"For the last time, this isn't your house so don't get cranky." Jide stated bolting to the door.

"Hi..."he lost his breathe when he saw Joyce. Of all days...he moaned.

"Good morning" Joyce walked in wondering what he was doing in the house so early.

"How u dey?" Joyce's mother walked in behind her.

"Fine" Jide's eyes were still fastened on Joyce, whatever made her come back, just when he thought she was gone forever.

"Honey..." Ashley walked into the living room still holding her half-eaten rice. She couldn't believe her eyes; when she saw Joyce, she wanted to say something but changed her mind.

Joyce after an eye-fight with Jide walked towards her room, she turned the door knob and pushed but the door refused to budge.

"ah ahn...who locked the door?" she asked no one in partcular.

"I did." Williams voice boomed from the stairway, he was awokened by their knockings.

Ashley exchanged looks with her husband and both sat on a couch to watch another drama unfold.

"Good day to you Mr. Williams, can I have the keys please?" Joyce asked casually.

"It depends on your mission, I thought you left?" Williams frowned.

"I came to get my things." Joyce replied glancing at her mother to say something but the older woman continued to stare blankly at her.

"Things! Just like that?"

"You should be happy I'm leaving." Joyce replied.

"Happy? After you nearly destroyed my family? What about our child? I heard you have a daughter."

"She's not your child." Joyce swallowed.

"Good...so all this while you were fixing me up. I'm gonna sue you." Williams continued carelessly.

Ashley and her husband coughed same time, before readjusting their sitting position.

"My pikin, e never reach like dat. Abeg no vex, anything wey Joy do you forgive am, na devil work." Joyce's mother went on her knees.

"Brother...why don't you let her go? This is God answering prayers." Jide spoke in yoruba.
Ashley pinched him, he should shut jor.

"Not after the trouble she put my family through." Williams spat, enjoying how the table seemed to have turned. Initially his plan was to beg Joyce and pay her off, but now Joyce was begging him to let her go, the tears on her face made him smile...

Ashley rose to her feet, her sister and kids need to see and hear this. She ran to the room Kola shared with Kenny, then to Cassandra's room, but when they came out, Joyce was already packing her things out of the house in tears.

After much shedding of tears, tight hugs and patting of backs, Williams spoke up.

"The girl is not strong enough to carry all of your weights o, you people should leave my daughter for me."

"Abi o...all of them are just releasing their 100kg weight on her." Tunji added.

"the both of you should not start o, you've been with her since o!" Jide frowned.

"Don't mind them jare. Sasha Temi, oya give me another hug jor." Ashley hugged her as tight as she could.

"What do you mean by 'Temi'? Sasha is not your own o, she belongs to me jor!" Cassandra pulled Sasha away.

"Errm.." Kenny cleared his throat.
"stop talking gibberish jor! When the original owner of Sasha is here..."

Sasha couldn't help but laugh, this was truly the home she belongs.
"Okay..." she put her hands up.
"I belong to everybody, we're one family right? So can I run a bath now...I feel so weak after the flight"

"You see what I'm saying...come jare before they drain all your energy for me." Barbra led her upstairs.
"You should dress up o, the guests would be here soon." she called over her head.

"Guests?" Sasha whispered.

"Yea...your siblings organised a small party for you, and a small surprise package." Barbra winked.

"Hmm" Sasha was trying all she could not to look nervous.

"i'm in the wrong room." she muttered as her mother led her into the room.

"No baby, this is you room, just a little change." Barbra searched her eyes.

"Hmm" she looked around her, feeling the sheets and curtains.

"You like them?" her mother asked.

"yes...thank you." Sasha whispered.
"The colours..." she paused as she saw her mother's pained expression
"I meant to say they are beautiful," she quickly concluded.
Actually the colours made her feel sick, what's with the pinkish stuff.

"That large teddy is for me too?" she asked walking up the bed.
She was trying hard to suppress the laughter coming up her throat. A pink teddy? For whom? Pink of all colours? What ever happened to brown or even green.

"You like it?"

"Yea...yes...its beautiful...and thanks." Sasha beamed as she hugged the teddy. From the corner of her eyes she saw her mother smile, it made her happy.

"Lemme clean up right away." She tossed the teddy.

"okay...I'd be out here should incase you'd need me to scrub your back." Barbra called after her as she ran to the bath room.
The girl chuckled softly.

Barbra pulled out two dresses from the wardrobe. One was pink with white flowers, the other was green with silvery designs.
She had chosen pink while Cassie chose green, after much arguement they decided to take both and let the girl make her chioce.
She brought out a silvery six-inch peep-toes with its purse to match, then a silvery ballet shoes which was Cassie's choice.

"Wow...that dress belong to whom?" Sasha asked excited from behind her.

"Which of them?" Barbra probed.

"That green..." Sasha picked it from the bed.
"Oh my...its so beautiful"

"All yours...What about the pink?"

when I'm not a doll- Sasha almost laughed.
"Its beautiful too"

"But I'll put on the green." Sasha quickly added.

"Thanks to Cassie." Barbra smiled.
"The shoes?"

"Good Lord! Who's to put on these heels?" Sasha's eyes popped out.

"Try them on." her mother urged.

Sash pulled them on, not minding her towel loosening.
"I look like an Iroko tree" she laughed. She tried a catwalk but came crumbling down on her mother.
The both burst into fits of laughter.

"While guests are waiting, mother and daughter are here having a lovey-dovey session." Cassandra walked into the room, smacking her lips to even her lipstick.

"Can you imagine?" Kenny walked in adjusting his tie.

"You guys are looking good." Sasha slipped into her dress.

"I knew she'd take the green!" Cassandra said excitedly giving Kenny a high five.

"Mummy...Kenny and Cassie refuse to help me knot my tie...they said I should go and wear bowtie." Kola complained holding his tie.

"Come lemme tie it for your." Sasha offered.

"Sassy help me put this pin in my hair." Cassie went on

"Sassy help me button my jacket..." Kenny added.

Barbra watched with admiration as Sasha fixed them up.

"The guests are here already o..." Ashley came to drag her sister out.

Sasha felt nervous as she walked in company of her siblings to the living room, her shoes were worsening the situation. She was welcomed by different types of voices singing melodiously.
"Happy birthday to you...happy recovery to you...welcome back Sasha..."

"What todays date?" Sasha whispered.
"Its your B-day sweerie.." Kenny chuckled

"Surprise number one, wait till you see your cake." Cassandra gave her a peck before walking to the dance floor.

Sasha stood surprised, so she was eighteen? Wonderful.

"Wanna dance with me?" she felt an arm around her.

"Micheal?" she gasped.

"Happy recovery."

Barbra took a few steps back, so she could have a full view of the room, its new look was beautiful enough to welcome a new bride.
Was it the Kingsized bed or the wardrobe and dresser, the beautiful flower vase' or the soft curtains. She've spent alot, thanks to her sister's contributions. The dresser was filled with body cream', perfumes, lotions, cleansers of different shapes and sizes, everything a young girl would need. The shame she felt was unestimable when she discovered her daughter's still using petroleum jelly, using cheap perfume, and using olive oil for her hair. Or was it when she went through Sasha's clothes and shoes? She had to change everything.
But then, she wasn't sure if the girl would appreciate her efforts. Each time she tried to imagine how she would welcome her daughter; fear grips her heart, the fear of rejection.
Her daughter would be with her in less than 16 hours, after all the preparations, she's still nursing the fear. Whatever is going to be would surely be, all she got to do is hold on patiently.
Her tensed up muscles relaxed as she tried to console herself that her family would be happy once more.
Happy? Something was still missing. Joyce is still in her home! The woman isn't back from wherever she went for two days, and she secretly wish she'd never come back.

Barbra waved the issue of her mind, resuming her thougts about Sasha.
"My baby...I'd be the best mum I can be...I promise." she smiled at the empty room.

***********
"my beloved PH. City hasn't changed a bit." Sasha noted looking out of the window.

"You're just absent for a few weeks, you shouldn't expect a change." Williams replied.

"Yea..." sasha smiled.

Williams smiled too, he was enjoying every bit of her conversation. This was the Sasha he never knew, he's yet to know why she became so nice overnight, or was it the thought of coming back home? And that knowing look she and Tunji exchanged from time to time; something is up.

"Uncle Tee Jay...that's my school..." Sasha pointed out.
"Before I was bundled the Lagos!" the words came out swiftly beyond her control.

"I mean..." she looked sober. The look Tunji gave her just made her melt, or was it the guilty look on her father's face.

Tunji let out a sigh, the girl wasn't prepared to let go.
He looked away, as she shifted closer to him.

"Sorry." she whispered.

His lips curved into a smile...Sasha using the word 'sorry'? Unbelievable.

"Just a few metres drive and you would be home again." Tunji took her hands as the driver turned the Car into the street where The Williams reside.

Sasha tightened her grip on Tunji's fingers, her heart beat soared. Just a few seconds and she'll be facing them? Her family? How would they welcome her? Would her mother snob or hug her? Would Kola run to hug her? What about cassie? Would Kenny be there too? Or has he forgotten her? Would...?

The gate waved at them as he opened the gate, she waved back with trembling hands. Her throat was dry, her eyes moist and her heart threatening to jump out of her chest.

Tunji squeezed her fingers, giving her an assuring look.

Yes, Sasha tried to assure herself, everything would just work out fine. If her family rejects her this time around Kenny would never reject her, and if he does; Kemi and her husband won't, her newly found faith in God won't fail her.

"Welcome back home Dada mi..." Williams cooed as the car came to a halt.

Sasha swallowed as she watched her them alight, her buttocks was still glued to the car seat.

"Madam oya bo sita jare...that car looks comfy, but I tell you your room would be much more comfortable." Tunji teased.

Williams laughed but Sasha didn't, instead she pursed her lips into a thin line. Her feet trembled as she made to get down.
'don't worry Sassy...be strong.' she gripped her dress.

"Sasha! Ekaabooo..."

Her ears pricked, her head jerked to the direction of the voice. She was too scared to look at who own the voice, the giggling sounds shows it was not just one person.
She turned to see her family rushing to meet her, faces lit with smiles.

"Who's gonna get your first hug?" Tunji whispered.

"Whom do you think deserves it?" she whispered back.

"Make your choice." Tunji laughed.

Sasha scanned their faces as they approached her, the joy on their faces was unmeasurable. She made her choice, her Mother. She took a deep breathe and ran to meet her mother half-way.

Barbra held unto her tight, they both trembled.
"Welcome back...I missed you." Barbra sniffed.

"I love you momma." Sasha whispered, tears stinging her eyelids as she buried her face in her mother's neck.

"Mummy...mummy" the continuous banging on door made Babra want to strangle who ever was at her bedroom door.

The little girl fell into the room as Barbra snatch the door open.

"Mummy I want" The girl struggled to her feet not minding the bruises on her knees and elbow.

"Your ice cream is in the fridge, ask Cassie to get it for you." Barbra snapped.

"No mummy!" the girl shook her head vehemently.

"Can't you see I'm feeding your brother?" Barbra asked frustrated as Kola's cries filtered into her ears.

"I want...mummy..." the girl's eyes filled with tears.

"I don't know why my own children are frustrating me...am I the first to have kids?" Barbra murmured angrily as she pulled the girl down the stairs with her.

"Here you are! Ice-cream it is! No more disturbances okay? Now run off!" Barbra ordered.

The little girl collected the little container, speeding off her fast as her legs could carry her.

"Auntie..." she wept as she ran into Kemi's room.

"Awww....who touched my baby sister?" Kemi asked pulling the littke girl to herself.

"Auntie...I want" the little girl gave the ice-cream to her.

"I should open it for you?" Kemi asked trying her best to comprehnd what the little girl was saying.

"No...auntie I want!" the girl sobbed some more.

"You want what?"

The little girl pointed at the door.

Letting out a sigh, Kemi closed her books.
"Oya lets go, so you'll show me what you want."

The little girl led Kemi to her room,
"Auntie...I want...see..." she pointed to the ceiling fan.

There and then, Kemi saw it; it was a little colourful bird which might have found its way in through the open windows.

"Auntie...I want..." the girl tugged Kemi who was lost admiring the bird.

"Its very beautiful, and you want me to catch it for you?" Kemi asked and girl nodded.

"But I'm not tall now..."Kemi complained.

"Auntie nao...I waaant."

"Okay then lets try" Kemi placed a stool on the bed, lighting it she swooped at the bird.

The bird squeaked and found its way through the window. Kemi got down to console her sister who was already weeping silently.

"I'm sorry.."

"Auntie ...I want..." she continued to sob.

"I promise to buy one for you." Kemi assured.

The little girl stopped crying, her eyes searching Kemi's face.

"See...that bird left cos it doesn't belong to you, when I buy one for you, it'll be yours forever." Kemi assured once.

"Thank you auntie.." the little girl hugged Kemi gratefully though Kemi never fulfilled her promise.

"But how come you remember all these?" Tunji asked looking bewildered.

"Nobody ever forgets evil memories." Sasha smiled sadly.

"You should let go!" Tunji took her hands in his.

"I'm not holding grudges against anyone." Sasha frowned.

"Its all clear...baby girl just let all those hard feeling go. Whatever evil your parents and siblings did; whatever good thing Kemi did, shouldn't matter now. Its all past." Tunji tried again.

Sasha bit her lower lip, that man thought it was all easy to forget all those forever vivid memories.
Not afterall she went through, not after all the endless nights of weepings. She had tried her possible to stay away from them, that frustration led her to the hospital bed in a different country. She was very sure if she goes back home, she would end up in...

"Maybe you should plead with my father, to let me go to Lagos straight from here."

Tunji didn't reply, he was flipping through his Bible pages. He needed some scriptures as a back up to soften her heart. He was tired of the false life his in-laws were living.

Putting up the picture of a happy family in public and eating up each other's heads in their closet. Who would think his father in-law who was so religious would stoop so low to bring a strange woman into his home, or rather his mother-in-law who looked like she's always doting on her kids.
Or was it Sasha who ran back home to save her parents marriage? A family she still held so much spite for?

Tunji emptied his can of guava juice in gulps, his throat needed to stay wet atleast after talking for close to an hour on phone. He had listened to Kemi moan and complain about the pregnancy, sometimes she laughed, sometimes she cried and at other times she screamed and called him names. Dapo also came on phone to complain about Kemi's new 'attitude', he had pleaded and made unmentionable promises just so Dapo won't leave Kemi all by her self.

He was about to open another can of juice when he heard a knock.

"these Indians don't know I hate someone disturbing me at night." he hissed.

The knock came again softly.
He rose to his feet, his fists clenched by his side. Those attendants should know that not everybody needed to be attended to at almost midnight.

"How may I..." he stopped halfway when he saw Sasha. He could swear she was trembling, her eyes swollen like she'd been crying. He prayed silently she wasn't falling sick again, not after he had arranged his bag to be in Nigeria in less than 48hrs.

"Sorry to disturb you." she muttered as he made way for her.

He closed the door quitely waiting for her to drop the bombshell.

She stood in the middle of the room, counting her toes, her dreads covering her face.

"Don't tell me she's scared of sleeping alone." he teased, suddenly relaxing as she didn't look sick to him.

"No" she looked up, pushing her dreads off her face.

"So why is my 'baby sister-inlaw' not having her beauty sleep?" he asked sitting by the edge of the bed.

"I'm scared." she blurted out.

"Scared of what?"

"Dunno" she ran her fingers through her dreads;wearing a frustrated look.

"I don't wanna go back home...don't wanna go back to PH city." she whimpered running to the window.

"Why?" Tunji maintained a calm voice. The girl reminded him so much of Kemi, the best way to handle them was to listen to all they have to pour out.

"I don't think they'd want me around them..." she sniffed
"I might end up falling sick again...who knows I might not survive it. It may not be a nail this time around, it could be me drinking some poisinous substance." Her voice trembled.

Tunji' throat felt dry,
"Did I hear you clearly?"

"Uncle Tee-Jay they don't want me..."

"And I take the 'they' as your family?"

"I'm here cos of them...I want to remain here forever...pullease" she sobbed.

Tunji could feel his heart rent into pieces, that girl's cry wasn't a beautiful sight.

"Wow...Her Royal Majesty!" John gave a mock bow.
"To what do I owe this royal visit?"

"Good afternoon" Joyce sniffed.

Kemi hummed gently to herself, as her right hand travelled from her large bowl of popcorn to her mouth, while her other hand caressed her tummy. She looked up momentarily at her brother who was sitting few metres away from her, his eyes was totally savouring her 'precious popcorn'; slowly she pulled the bowl closer to herself.

"Kemi nao..." Dapo pleaded once more.

"what?" she glared at him.

"Please...the popcorn, even just a handful..." He continued to plead.

"Bring your winchy hand into my popcorn and you'll see." Kemi threatened.

Dapo crawled towards her with the aim of stealing 'swiftly'.
Kemi quickly picked the bowl from the table placing it on her laps, She shook a fist at him.

"touch my popcorn and see! Ojukokoro! Enu jati jati! I'll make sure I punch out your teeth!" she threatened.

Dapo crawled back to his position defeated. He continued to stare at her, till she emptied the bowl; slowly he shook his head making up his mind to revenge anytime soon.

"Lo funmi lomi jor! Ice cold one please, and sparkling!" Kemi ordered.
Without a word Dapo obeyed.

"hmmmn! Lady Kay the wife of Tunji!" she hailed herself as a belch escaped her throat.

Dapo hissed irritated, he shuffled to the kitchen working out different plans.

"Omo Jati jati! Is it paining you? Cos I didn't give you my guguru?" she called after his retreating figure.

She snuggled into a sofa about to take a nap when the strong aroma of fried plantains hit her nose, she was still recovering from that when that of fried eggs filtered into her nose.
She struggled to a sitting position-salivating.

Soon Dapo walked back to the living room carrying a tray. She watched him as he placed the tray in betwwen his legs, switched on the Tv, before settling down to eat.

"Dapo?" she called, letting her cravings get the best of her.

"Ehen? Kilode? Why are you calling my name like that?" He retorted.

"Just a slice." she pleaded.

"can't I eat in peace? Ehn? Leave me alone o! Don't even come near me o cos I'll force you into premature labour!" He cranked his fingers shaking both fists.

Kemi watched silently as half the food disappeared into his mouth, she knew he was going to consume the whole food without her getting half a slice.

"If you finish that food ehn? I'd never forgive you, I swear!" she blurted out, her voice shaky like she might burst into tears.

The sound behind her voice made Dapo turn to look at her.
"Jesu Christi !" He screamed as he saw her eyes filled with tears threatening to spill down her face.
"I was only joking o"

"Noo! Continue! God is watching you " she wiped her tears with both hands.

"Your own share is in the kitchen nao, I was only Joking o" Dapo pleaded with her. He half ran to the kitchen, brought her share of the food; emptied his half-eaten food into hers also.

"You can have them all, I'm so sorry." He begged, looking scared.

Her tears continued to flow as she rushed the food with her hands ignoring the fork he gave her.

"Sorry o. I never meant it." Dapo wiped her tears which continued to flow in torrents.

"Water!"

Dapo quickly gave her another glass of water which she drank half way.

"Thank you." She muttered wiping her face.

She looked up at Dapo who was looking all tensed up, and a roar of laughter escaped her throat. He could only manage a smile.

"Stop looking at me like that jor!" she slapped his hands off her face.

"Tunji must have seen wahala before he travelled." Dapo heaved a sigh of relief.

Kemi laughed some more, rubbing her over fed stomach.
"Dee...those children are moving again o".

"Wow!" Dapo rushed to touch her tummy. He laughed when he felt it, double joy! He was personally happy his sister's tears ended in a good laugh else what would he tell the world. He still couldn't forgive himself that he was the reason why his sister wept.

Another issue crossed his mind- Sasha! The last time he spoke to Tunji who confirmed Sasha's perfectly healthy was one of the best moments in his life. Truly, his life revolved around his family.
