..."hmmn" Sasha washed her hands, as Joyce turned to face them.

"I thought you both became deaf." Joyce spat.

"the truth is, we never knew you were talking to us." Kenny replied feigning innocence.

"I don't blame you! I wonder how were brought up! Imagine the rubbish you're doing with those beverages...just look at how you disorganised the whole place..." Joyce said looking irritated.

"Ose! Mrs I too know! Spare us those thrash you're saying." Sasha eyed her.

"Who's talking thrash? Haven't I warned you never to talk to me anyhow?" Joyce queried.

"Uhn Uhn! Madam, we were eating 'peacefully' before you became a disturbance." Kenny raised his palm up.

"Rubbish!" Joyce snapped.

"The only rubbish we have around here is a pregnant slut!" Sasha shot back.

"You can keep insulting me, i'm not surprised! You talk to your parents that way, don't you? A dominant gene from your mother." Joyce said spitefully.

"I won't have you insult my aunt!" Kenny slammed his hands on the table.

"Chillax bros, everybody's got one!" Sasha patted Kenny.
"I can now see the dominant gene in you!" she pointed at Joyce.
"Your mother was a W.hore right? A home breaker too, I suppose? That why you are carrying a bastard in you."

"That's my girlie!" Kenny clapped.

"I'm warning you for the last time...steer clear off my path! Else I'd be forced to strangle you." Joyce fumed.

"strangle her? So that's your mission? " Kenny asked bewildered.

"My head is too strong o! Tell your fellow witches that My blood is bitter!" Sasha rang jumping to her feet.
"you think this dada on my head is just for decoration? Ehn?" She asked loosening her dreads.

"Tell her what she wanna hear!" Kenny urged.

"what can you do? Small witch!" Joyce too was in the mood.

"ehen! Big witch! Tell the whole world your real identity." Sasha clapped.

Joyce tried to speak, but her ringing phone stoped her. Her face fell as she saw the caller Id.

"Hello?" she began.

"Hello, John, I can hear you " she muttered running to her room.

"Whoever John is!" Sasha hissed after her.

"nonsense! We sure dealt with her!" Kenny snapped his fingers.

"Ah! Booda mi! She's playing with fire ni!" Sasha said giving Kenny a high five.

************.
Williams turned off the SUV, turning then to glance at the beautiful woman sitting beside him. The song 'I love my baby' by a Nigerian artist-Wizkid was filtering through the speakers, as the AC made the atmosphere chilly.

"Errrm..thanks. " Barbra muttered opening the door of the vehicle.

"Just like that?" he queried.

Barbra stoped her movement. What does he want again?

"you're looking so beautiful, you know." his hands caressed her cheek.

"Errm...I think we should get out of the car now, the kids...they might be watching from their room." she said nervously edging away from him, those butterflies were beginning to flutter.

"Okay..." Williams sighed disappointed.

Barbra trudged into the house with Williams following closely, her heart a bit light atleast after the 'romantic night out'- as Williams named it

"Williams!" Joyce sprang to her feet, when it seems the couple didn't notice her seated on the sofa.

"hey...Joyce...how'do?" Barbra greeted.

"I'm fine! Williams I need to talk to you!" Joyce wasn't looking good.

"Errm...I'd excuse you." Barbra said climbing the staircase.

"Can't wait till morning?" Williams faced Joyce.

"It can't wait! Just listen to me now o! Before I expode." Joyce said full of rage. The sight of Williams coming home by 10pm with his 'darling' wife made her feel unwanted.
"Warn those devilish kids of yours! I'm not their mate! They should stop getting on my nerves! I can't have some bunch of bastards calling me names." she ranted.

Williams sighed, loosening his tie- atleast that should ease the anger bottling up in him.

"Did you hear me at all? Or you've suddenly gone deaf too!" she squealed.

"I did, I was just wondering which 'bunch of bastards' you were gibbering about." Williams replied in a cool voice.

"That witch called Sasha et'al! I might be forced to murder them one of these days!" she threatened.

"Murder? My kids? You won't dare!" Williams spat.

"are they more important than I am? I am your wife for crying out loud!" Joyce yelled.

"You are not my wife!" Williams thundered.

"I'm carrying your child!" she squealed.

"A child I'm not even sure if its mine?" he grimaced.

"I see..." Joyce sighed searching for words.
"Maybe when you wake up one day, and discover I'm gone with my child, you'd know my worth." she said in a fierce whisper.

"The door is always open." Williams replied carelessly.

"What?" Joyce covered her mouth in fear. Her body trembled as she watched Williams saunter up the stairs. She was losing it- she shuddered.

Sasha lay on her bed, enjoying the warmth from the sun, as its rays bathed her unclad thighs-her very natural source of vitamin D. She could stay-on like that till evening, as there was nobody to kick her out of bed.
Thank God the -almighty-Kemi left with her husband the night before, else she'd been screaming her name up and down the house. It took her- Sasha alot of energy to plead with Kemi to leave her behind. What was going to Lagos for? After all, she's written her final paper, Kemi agreed after Kenny informed her that they would both fly to Lagos for their PostUTME which is coming in a few weeks.

Sasha sighed, hugging her pillow tightly. It was like nobody's home because her mother resumed work, even Kola and Cassandra all went to school. Her Father left home very early, his pregnant princess-Joyce is in her room-as usual.

Sasha spread her legs, as the warmth the sun rays increased its intensity.
"So sweeet.." she yawned.

"Sasha?" the door creaked open.

"Yikes!" she gasped, pulling the covers over her half unclad body.
The least she needed that moment was someone invading her 'privacy'

"Oops!" Kenny froze, as he watched her cover herself nervously.

"Next time you should knock!" Sasha eyed him.

"How was your night?" He strolled into the room, ignoring her eyes.
He placed the glass of juice he's holding on the dresser.

"pullease....Kenny! I'd appreciate it if you would leave this minute! I'm almost nude!"

"I'm going nowhere!" He snapped.

"Kenny, please nao..." she resolved to begging.

"No!"

"Kenny tori Olohun, please..." she rubbed her palms together.

"hmmm...why are you still in bed? When your mates are attending to their husbands!" Kenny feigned anger

"Husbands? " Sasha scoffed.

"Uhmm." Kenny drank his juice half way.
"Here, drink this up!" he offered her the glass. She drained it obediently.

"Good girl! Now get yourself outta that bed and clean up!" He ordered.

"Yes Papa!" Sasha laughed.

"Who's papa? I'm your husband!" he snapped.

"Yes sugar plum!" she laughed some more.

"Hian! Sugar plum? This girl! You have spoil finish!" He shook his head walking to the exit.
"Waiting at the living room!" he added over his shoulder.

"Okay." she sprang out of bed.

Sasha watched the door close, a wide grin plastered on her face. Kenny was a twin indeed!

++++++++
The duo chattered like magpies as they filled ther empty stomachs with whatever food they could find. The large tins of beverage were the 'centre of concentration' as they used it to make different foods ranging from tea to deserts.

"uuuhhh lalalala" Sasha sang as she spread a thick paste of milk, bournvita and sugar on a slice of bread.
"yummy yum! This is what I call Sugar candy Kingdom." she savoured the dripping bread.

"lemme have a bite.." Kenny licked his lips.

"have it all boy! I could easily make another."

"soo sweet!" Kenny scratched his ears.
"Big daddy's gonna slash our throats today." he added.

"oh yea! So we better enjoy our lives now!" Sasha mumbled chewing a chunk of Suya.
"What do they expect? They didn't leave breakfast for us! Not even left overs."

"Its like that Ibo woman ate our breakfast." Kenny chirped.

"No she can't!" Sasha replied moving a spoonful of powdered milk towards her mouth.

"This is 'chocolate plus banana delicacy' " Kenny said excitedly spreading a thick paste of bounvita on a half peeled banana.

"Looks so inviting..." Sasha giggled, rushing to take a bite.

"I'm even tired of eating sef!" Kenny made a face.

"Don't get tired jor! Its our turn to shine!" Sasha said licking her fingers noisily.

A loud cough filtered through their ears making them freeze.

"Omo Ibo is up!" Kenny sighed regaining his composure.

"Don't talk to her!" Sasha whispered.

"Yea, she should look for our trouble first!" Kenny agreed munching some suya.

"Oh my God! What a waste of resources!" Joyce shrieked walking into the dinnning room.
"What on earth is wrong with the both of you? Do you know how much a tin of milk costs?" She scolded.

Sasha exchanged looks with Kenny who signalled to her to keep quiet.

"What rubbish!" Joyce hissed, the sight of the teenagers alone was enough to annoy her.
"Just look at how dirty you've made the table covers...what sort silly kids are you?" she continued.

The duo continued to savour their 'food' without a second glance at her. Sighing quietly she turned towards the kitchen.

"Missy! Come..come..come...what were you saying? I'm sure you weren't talking to us." Kenny called after her licking his fingers.

To be continued...

"....once again, we say thank you and we ask you to bless this food in Jesus name we pray..." Williams prayed.

"Amen." the whole family chorused.

Soon forks, spoons and knives were in the air, taking the regular path to the mouth then back to the plates.

"Hmmmm...looks yummy..." Kola salivated as he uwrapped the moist banana leaves, revealing a moist- steaming moin-moin.

"Yea, I love the scent of these leaves" Tunji agreed, directing his fork towards Kemi's lips.
She pushed his hands away roughly, wondering if he's lost his respect for her parents.

"Its been a long time, since we ate as one big family." Dapo noted, working his mouth.

"Yea..." Cassandra agreed
"Just that we've got an addition." she winked at Sasha, who did a thumb up.

"Addition? Kenny is a family member.." Kemi spoke up, mouth ful.

"maybe she meant the omo Igbo sitting close to me." Kenny replied savouring some fried fish.

"kenny noni! Tell me why I shouldn't love you! Hian!"Sasha laughed out loud.

"Can we all keep quite, and observe some table manners." Barbra spoke up, she knew where they were driving at. Joyce was beginning to feel uncomfortable too.

"Aunty Kay, you aint eating?" Kola observed ignoring his mother.

"You know all these pregnant women, they like shakara too much." Cassandra replied.

"Yea...shakara is meant for the 'legally' pregnant ones." Kenny added.

Williams coughed, he was decoding all the infos they were trying to pass across.

"can someone pass me the palm oil sauce, please." Tunji spoke his eyes on his plate.

"Sure." Sasha gave Kenny the bowl.

He attempted to pass it over Joyce's head only to let it drop, as expected the red-looking sauce splattered all over Joyces's cream-coloured evening dress.

"Holly Molly!" she shrieked.

"Oops...oh my God! Sorry..sorry please o" Kenny apologised, attempting to wipe off the sauce, only to smear the dress with his already stained hands.

" Stop it!" Joyce squealed, her lips quivered

"Kenny you must be out of your mind! What the heck was that?" Kemi scolded, while Joyce looked herself over, pitying herself

"But he said he's sorry." cassandra spoke up- she cared less.

"Abi o!" Sasha pulled Kenny back to his seat.

"You both shut up! Now Kenny apologise properly!" Kemi's voice was rising.

"There's no need for that..." Joyce said in a teary voice.

"Sorry" Kola and Dapo chorused.

Even Barbra wanted to murmur some apologies, but a sharp kick from Cassandra stoped her.

"That's palm oil for you...it shows its beauty by staining your dress." Tunji chuckled.
"it aint a big deal, just let it slide ma'am, your Moin-moin is cooling off."

Joyce simply sighed picking up her fork, she could feel Williams eyes on her. She wouldn't blame him, she got herself all that. She's going to talk to him, he should warn his daughter to steer clear her path, else she'd be forced to starngle her...

"Is that one cold? let me give you a fresh one." Dapo offered placing a wrapped moin-moin on her plate, not minding Cassandra's glare.

"You know what I don't like ehn? How can a full grown up be acting 'l too know'" Sasha said to no one in particular.

"Yes o! Must especially all those Oshi omo Igbo" Kenny hissed.

"The Igbo's I've come across are very nice o" Tunji chirped doting on his wife.

"hmn! Then you're lucky, the ones we have around here are purely home breakers!" Kenny said with spite.

"That's so true my guy!" Sasha grunted.

"the both of should excuse us, since you've finished eating." williams instructed almost choking.

"But..Big Daddy, we aint full yet!" Kenny complained.

"Doesn't matter! Now run off to your room! Good night!" He said firmly.

"What about evening devotion?"

"Pray in your room! Good night!" Barbra snapped.

"Okay o...good night o" Sasha pulled herself up.

"God sees our heart o, we've done nothing wrong o!" Kenny said pushing his half-eaten food away.

The cutlery that flew towards their direction, sent then running in different directions.

"Useless children!" Kemi fumed.
"Just let me catch you!"

"I thought you've changed her, she was so nice when she came back." Dapo stated.

"Yea, I guess Kenny just put on the flames again" Kemi hissed.

"You aint a saint either, you just threw sharp objects at them. " Tunji chided, to the amusement of others.

Joyce was fuming helplessly, it isn't easy being alone in the midst of people who think alike, its seems nobody took those urchins seriously. Barbra, Kemi, Dapo, and Kola were nice to her, except Williams himself, those devish duos and ofcourse the witch sitting across the table-Cassandra.
She'd handle them one after the other. She just pray her baby turns out to be a male. The thought of having a male child excited her.

Kemi offered her mother a hanky as she wiped her tears with her palms. She really felt sorry for her, she prayed she won't get carried away too.

"I got lost Kemi, I left my tracks, I wanted to belong..." Barbra lamented amidst sobs.

"Its okay mum.." Kemi consoled her.

"I can't blame your father, the blame is on me...I'm such a f.ool..." Barbra wailed.

"Mum you can't go on blaming yourself...dad is at fault too! What matters now is your happiness mum." Kemi chided.

"Look, Kemi- I became pregnant in a few weeks after our wedding, I won't let your father come near me...you came,I had Dapo, then Cassie...althrough I can count the number of time we were intimate...I believed that if a man loves you , he won't care much about s.ex..." Barbra sniffed, flicking away some tears.

"Sasha came along, then Kola...since then we don't do it anymore...its like your father got used to it, he got used to me turning him down..." she blew her nose into some tissue..

"Kemi...I had feelings too, but...but...I just let my foolishness take over me....I bottled up my feelings making the both of us suffer..." Barbra let out a heart-rending sob.

"mum c'mon...its okay...stop crying huh?" Kemi continued to rock her.

"My daughter, please..don't make the mistake I made...please,"

"Mum you should stop all this...atleast you still have your marriage intact, everything would be fine once more." Kemi continued.

The door creaked, then a shuffling sound like someone was behind the door.
Barbra quickly wiped her tears while Kemi walked towards the door.

"Who's there?" she asked snatching the door open.
Nobody was at the door, she heard some soft thumping sound dowm the hallway- the person was running away.

Hissing angrily she walked back into the room.

"Nobody is there." she informed her mother who was still trying to put herself together.

Sasha ran into her room-panting.
That was close, she whistled, Kemi would have sliced off her ears if she was caught.
She sat on a chair, analysing all she heard, she couldn't help but imagine the scenes her mother talked about . What she could digest was that 'her father got another woman pregnant because her mother refused to sleep with him'.
She never knew that was a crime- she shrugged indifferently.
The lyrics of a song by a Nigerian Musician flashed across her minds eye.
'.....agro na bastard...'

how comes she never knew intimacy was a priority in marriage? Who would blame her? She shrugged again.
No wonder the whole family went crazy when they discovered she had a male friend-Micheal.

A smile spread across her face as she remembered Kemi's first question as soon as they arrived Lagos.
"Are still a virgin?" Kemi had asked with a stern look.

"Virgin? Yeeessss!" She had laughed in reply.

She wasn't a virgin at heart atleast not after all the 'mills and boons' she had read. She knew everything just that she never knew being intimate was a necessity.

She decided to ask Cassandra who might know 'much', but changed her mind- that girl would sell her off with her loud mouth. Maybe she should ask Kenny or Mike or her new friends in Lagos? She considered that foolish too.

"Sasha?" Kenny walked into the room

she jumped.

"Hey Sassy...I've missed you." Kenny tried to hug her.

"Leave me!" Sasha snapped regaining her composure,

"Haven't forgiven a brother yet?" Kenny frowned.

"Whatever! Get outta my room!"

"Noo! Maybe you should throw me out yourself." Kenny replied folding his arms across his chest.

"You didn't even bother to..."

"Chillax...girlie, we can settle the scores later, huh?" he tried to hug her again.

"I'm not a girl jor!" she pushed him away.

"Okay woman...errrm..sorry Lady can I get a hug now?" Kenny laughed.

"That's my girl...no sorry...that my lady.." he teased.

"go jor!" Sasha laughed.

"not until I see our new family member." he winked.

Sasha laughed.
"That one? You'd never see her till whenever Dad comes back in the evening...always hiding in her room."

"Is it Peace or Joy that's her name...I can't wait to introduce myself to her." Kenny hissed.

"Before you can say anything, She'll start forming 'I too know'"
Imitates Joyce.
"...young man, I mind my business, and you'd do yourself a great favour by minding yours..."

"Nonsense! Is it not akproko that brought her into this house? She shouldn't just provoke me o!" Kenny hissed.

"You'll get to see her in the evening, when dad is eatin with us- you'll be here now?"

"I'm spending some days here...my bag is in Kola's room." Kenny informed.

"Kenny noni! I love you jare." she hailed.

"Sassy lockie-lockie, na you try pass, I love you diieee!" He sang as they hugged each other.

Rubbing her forehead gently, Sasha slumped into a settee.
"What kinda headache is this?" she mused closing her eyes.

The sound of video game emanating from Kola's room was tempting, but she was too tired. The rest of the family had gone visiting Kenny's family immediately after church service, she declined when she was invited. She'd declined the offer on purpose- she's still very angry with Kenny; although He'd made efforts to please her.
Dapo had asked Kola to stay home with her , perhaps to prevent her from making trouble with Joyce.

Joyce? She blinked rapidly. They hardly saw each other, as the older woman avoided her like a plague. Good for her and her unborn bastard...

"Sassy?"

Sasha groaned inwardly, she hates disturbance.

"You promised to help do my assignment." Kola stated.

"So?" Sasha snapped.

"Let's do it now."

"not now, later." She replied with a note of finality.

"But..."

"I said not now!" She snapped.

"Okay." the boy sighed, sitting on the rugged floor.

"Sassy?" he cooed again.

"What?" Sasha almost screamed.
She wanted to be left alone.

"I'm hungry." Kola frowned.

"so? Do I look like food? You know your way to kitchen young man!" she eyed him.

"There isn't food in there!" Kola complained.

"you've got hands I suppose? Go cook yourself something." She was getting irritated.

"Dunno how to cook." he pouted.

"I guess your Pregnant-step-mother is in there? Go tell her to cook you something!" Sasha replied pointing at Joyce's room.

"Step-mother ko, Grandma ni." Kola hissed and they both laughed.

"There's bread, spread some butter on it and help yourself." Sasha adviced recovering from her laughter.
She shook her head as the boy ran off the kitchen. Joyce's saga had brought her and her siblings close, even Cassandra her enemy became her best friend, no more quarells

"Sassy- sassy-sasssyyy..." Kola sang from the kitchen.
"See what I found in the fridge." He gave her a polythene bag.

"Wow." Sasha licked her lips
"Meat pie and Icecream...belongs to who?"

"Dunno...nobody eats such junk in this house except you and I." Kola shrugged.

"I meant who kept it there? Its definitely not mum." Sasha said still salivating.
"Lets share it equally, so when the trouble comes we'll share it." Kola suggested.

"Good boy.." sasha sang as they started munching away.

The door to Joyce's room creaked open, and she rolled out of the room.Cat- Walking past them towards the kitchen, her hands carressed her slightly bulging tummy.

"G'afternoon." Kola greeted.

"How are you?" Joyce asked with a smile.

"Fine." He replied wincing as Sasha gave him a sound pinch.

"Are you outta your mind?" she glared at him.

"But mummy said we should be greeting her." Kola retorted.

"Mumu like you! You're forming good-holy boy who doesn't keep malice!" she pulled his ears.

"did you take any snack from the fridge?" Joyce asked coming out of the kitchen, ignoring Sasha.

"Yes, didn't know it belongs to you." Kola replied rubbing his ears.

"Okay." Joyce walked back to the kitchen.

Sasha drew a long hiss, loud enough to make Joyce stop in her track.

"What was that for?"

"I hiss whenever I'm irritated!" Sasha replied.

"Listen, young lady, I mind my business, And you'd do yourself a great favor by minding yours." Joyce warned.

"Tell that to the b.itches!" Sasha grimaced.
"You shouldn't have gotten pregnant for a married man; if you truly mind your business."

"I didn't beg your father to get me pregnant..."

"Neither did my father beg you to get pregnant for him." Sasha cut in.
"Besides that baby is not his."

"what your tongue! What the heck are you insinuating?" Joyce squealed.

"Save it missy! You and I know, that baby is not a Williams, better get that bastard out of this house." Sasha clapped as she spoke.

"If my child is a bastard, then you're a one too." Joyce cursed.

"You see..." Sasha laughed.
"When you see a Williams' you'd know, I don't need to argue." she pulled the band holding her locks together off it, making her locks fall over her face.

"Sasha,..."Kola pleaded. He tried to pull her out of the living room. Whenever she loosened her locks, she gets violent, a situation which he feared.

"I'm carrying the heir of this house in my womb, so you better live with it" Joyce stamped to her room

"Ode buruku! Aje one in town! Tell your fellow witches that my parents marriage is still as strong Zuma rock o!" Sasha called after her, pushing Kola away from herself.

Joyce bolted the door, her body trembling. How did Sasha know about her baby's paternity? Could it be that the girl overheard her when she was making calls?

Barbra was sitting on her bed, studying her Bible; when Williams strolled into the room.
He stood a few metres away from her, observing her- she didn't look up, the satin veil covering her head made it difficult for him to see her face.

Thank God she agreed to stay back, he sighed. Life would have been terrible if she had left with the kids. He had called Ashley and her husband for help, when he overheard her telling the children about her decision to quit the marriage. Even Kemi had flown in from Lagos against Medical grounds alongside her husband.
He was lucky to have them plead with his wife- everyone seems to be on the 'forgiving side' except Sasha who had vowed never to forgive him. His saviour Kemi was around to take Sasha away.

His mind wandered to Joyce, who'd stay with the family till whenever she gives birth...

"You missed your way?" Barbra's voice cut into his thoughts.

"I...errm...no.." He stuttered smoothening his pyjamas.

"Need anything?" Barbra asked looking up at him, her eyes red and swollen.

"You're not crying again..are you?" Williams asked looking concerned.

He sat beside her only to rise up when Barbra edged away from him.

"What do you want here Williams? Its past twelve midnight!" Barbra noted bluntly.

"I just wanted thank you for...for staying...I mean..for..for not leaving...afterall I've put you through..I'm still very sorry." He spoke nervously.

"I thought you said that this afternoon..."

"Yea.."

"So?" Barbra eyed him.

"I want you to move your things back to our room." He pleaded.

"I'm comfortable here..."

"Please...you can't quit our matrimonial bed just like that..." He sat down again.

"I've heard you!" She bent her head.

"You're coming with me to our room-now?" Williams asked tilting her chin.

"I..." Barbra pushed his hand away ;moving away from him.
He caught her by the shoulder
"Please..." He pleaded looking deep into her eyes.

Barbra lowered her eyes, she began feel those butterflies fluttering inside her- a feeling she'd tried to keep away for so many years. She knew she couldn't hate him, not even the intruder can make her hate her first love. She wished Joyce never came along...she wish...

She shut her eyes when she felt his lips rub hers...she wished...

**********
Joyce pranced up and down the room she occupied, she trembled like a leaf blown by the harmattan wind.

"What am I going to do?" She muttered in fear.

Her phone rang and rushed to pick it up, million of shivers ran down her spine as she saw the caller ID.

She quickly rehearsed what to say, she definitely won't let him steal her joy. John was a past tense...

"Hello? Her lips quivered.

"look..I said I don't have anything to do with you again! Leave me alone!" She spoke fiercely.

"I've since aborted the pregnancy!" she shrieked after listening for a while.

"listen John, I'm married..you're now my ex, so stop calling me!" She threw her phone on the bed, still trembling.

She had gotten pregnant for him thinking he would marry her, but the opposite was the case-He ran away only to come back when he heard she's gotten a 'rich husband'.

"You can't soil my future Mr John! I don't deal with pauper' anylonger." she said nervously.

She needed a future- a bright future at that. Her unborn child deserves a rich father not a poor one.

"Are you gonna talk to me now?" Sasha asked, sitting down opposite her father in his study.

"Leave me alone."

"Leave you alone? No way! I deserve to know what I, my mother and siblings did to deserve such evil treatment from you." Sasha said in a quite voice.

"the deed is done already... You can't go on blaming me." Williams faced her squarely.

"Oh really? You're making it sound like you deserve an award for a good job done." she sneered.

"My wife-your mother has forgiven me, your siblings too, but you're just hyping the whole issue...should I kill my self?" Williams complained.

"I rather be an orphan than have a shameless father!" she grimaced

It came as a flash, it landed thunderously on her face.

"Let me warn you! Mind the language you use at me! I am your father, you have no right to question what I do!" He growled.

Sasha wiped blood from the corner of her lips, clenching her fist tightly she fought back tears. It's close midnight, not a good time to get beaten up.

"yea..you're right.." she spat out blood.

"I believe you're gonna make a choice...soon." she quivered tasting her blood.

"A choice? A choice of what?" Williams cringed at the sight of her blood

"When the time come you'd know." she swallowed.
"I used to think we could sought this out like...like... sane individuals...I never knew my father wasn't human."

"You can hit me as much as you can." she eyed his clenched fists.
"Its your time now,...cos you're the head..."

"You did this cos you wanted to 'belong' right? It's sad you don't know how shameful it is. Have you ever imagined the news..."
she mimicked a reporter

"....Mr Williams-the CEO of Imarculate Nigeria Limited, throws his wife and kids out cos of his pregnant Mistress Joyce..."

"And peoples reactions would be like...'oh..I thought he was a saint', 'he isn't a christian afterall' 'he did it cos he's rich'...common dad...you're damn wicked!"

"I'm not throwing my wife out!" Williams muttered feeling guilty

"Stop talking thrash! What wife are you talking about? The woman you betrayed??" Sasha yelled.

"I've ever told how much I hate you before?" she checked her voice.
"I started hating you right from the day you bundled me to Lagos, and I'm hating you more for the pain you're causing my mother"

She fell silent, her fingers tapping on the table furiously.
"I pray for the day, you'll fall, and desperately need my help! I tell you, I'll watch you suffer with relish!" she whispered fiercely.

"But..nothing should happen to my mother, cos I'd kill you with my bare hands."
she spat some blood on the table before walking off.

Williams stared at the bloody saliva...he shivered goose pimples covering his body.

*************
Sasha held the door knob, deciding whether to go in or not. She could hear Joyce singing loudly reminding her so much of Folake. She released the door knob rubbing her chin, it still hurts after her father's slap, she nearly swore that her jaw was dislocated.

"Doing what?" Dapo held her from behind.

"Oh..hey.."

"a penny for your thought.." he laughed.
"Mum is in?"

"Dunno.." she replied, waving at Cassandra who was standing like a ghost.

"Mum?"

they filed into the room.

Barbra looked up at them, smiling her best.

"Rearranging your wardrobe?" Cassandra asked sitting on a stool.

"Yea...putting my clothes into my bags." Barbra replied picking up a dress from the floor.

"why packing'em into bags?" Sasha asked as her mother zipped up the bags.

No reply.

"Mum?"

Barbra looked up, her eyes stained with tears.

"Mum don't start crying again." Dapo chided.

"I'm leaving." Barbra announced in a croaky voice.

"Leaving? Don't get you.." Cassandra frowned.

"you see...." Barbra sat on her bed.
"I've never imagined myself sharing my husband with someone else. We both can't have him, she can have him, but I'm nt staying anylonger." Barbra wiped her face with her dress.

"No mum...you can't do this to us...we'll talk to dad." Sasha said with desperation

"I don't want him to hit you again...you're not used to it." Barbra patted her.

"Mum..."

"I saw it last night..I heard everything." Barbra smiled sadly.

"If you truly love me, let me go." Barbra wept hugging her children.

"Mum...I...what happened?" Kola stuttered running into the room.

"mum, we can't stay here without you..mum please." sasha wailed.

"Where is mum going to?" Kola asked confused.
"Mum you're leaving daddy?"

"I'm leaving for my good, I don't want to have a heart attack ." Barbra sniffed.

"then we're coming with you" Cassandra sobbed.

"No, stay in your father's house. You're still schooling. When I get an apartment, I let you know okay?" Barbra said amidst tears.

"But mum..." Dapo sniffed.

"Dapo please, tori Olohun...don't try to stop me this time again."
Barbra pleaded.

Barbra jumped, when she heard the door bell. She glanced at her kids, they were all looking downcast.

"Dad I guess?" Kola rose to his feet.

"With his missy..." Cassandra hissed.

"Sasha? Yipppeee!" Kola screamed flinging himself at Sasha.

"Hey! Don't crush my bones!" Sasha released herself from his hug.

"where is...." her voice trailed off when she saw her mother-looking so pale with buggy eyes and bags surrounding them. Her heart lurched-could it be that her father died?

"Mum...I..." she swallowed.

"Come." Barbra opened her arms.

Without hestation, Sasha ran to her giving her the tightest hug she could.
"Mum are you okay? Dad? What happened?" she looked her mother all over.

"Everybody Is fine." Barbra smiled, she've always prayed for a day her daughter would talk to her in a caring tone.

"Everybody aint fine! Your father..." Cassandra started angrily.

"our father." Dapo corrected.

"Not my father! I disowned him long ago, the only reason why I'm still here is cos I've nowhere to stay!" Cassandra retorted.

"Cassie calm down..." Sasha tried to be polite.

"Stop asking me to calm down! You aint better yourself!" Cassandra shot at her.

"just tell me whats going on, ...then we can eat each others heads later." Sasha scoffed.

Everybody fell silent, nobody expected sasha to be so calm.

"How did you come back?" Dapo asked.

"Uncle Tee Jay paid for my ticket cos I was threatening fire if I don't get to know whats happening back home...so are you gonna tell me whats up now?" Sasha asked.

Her jaw fell when her mother relayed the story to her amidst tears, what came over her father? Was all she could ask herself.
She adjusted her sitting position, trying her best to swallow the curse word about to escape her mouth.

"Where's he and his Joyce?"

"another shopping spree!" Cassandra replied tending her mother.

"Wonderful!" was all Sasha could mutter.

Dapo marvelled at her reaction, he was expecting an outburst, but she was looking so calm- not the Sasha he knew, could it be that Lagos changed her?

A knock interrupted his thoughts.

"It must be them!" Kola whispered.

"I'll get the door" Sasha jumped up.

"Sasha!" Barbra called, but she was already at the door.

"Hi dad..."

Williams almost fainted, how did she get back? He had pleaded with everyone not to let Sasha know...

"Suprised to see me? Hmm" she paved way for them to get in.

"So this is it ehn? Just the best way to pay her back after all she've done for you?" her voice shook as she spoke.

"Sasha do you realise you're talking to your father? Talk to me with respect!" Williams thundered

"Well respect is reciprocal." she grimaced.

"Joyce take those things in." williams said walking briskly to his room.

"Let me have them." Sasha collected the paper bags from Joyce walking off to her mother's bedroom.

"Hey! Who do you think you are? You can't do such!" Joyce protested.

"I'm Sasha Williams"

"Oh you! I've heard about your devilish acts!" Joyce sneered

"You just heard? Wait till you see...seeing ofcourse is believing." Sasha walked off.

"Sasha..." Barbra ran after her daughter, that girl would land her in trouble.

Dapo rose to his feet, as he and his siblings followed their mother.

"Sweerie did you see that?" Joyce cried

"See what? Joyce You caused it all! My family is going apart cos of you!" Williams whined.

"Whatever!" Joyce walked off
"Come with me, I need some massage" She called over her shoulders.

Kemi shook her head in pains and fear as she clasped her phone to her ear...

"aunty Kay gu'day to you!" Sasha greeted from the other end

"Sasha are you outta your mind? Don't you know you're making things worse? Dad called me to say you're making trouble...Sasha after all I told you, you still won't drop your thugish attitude?" Kemi rattled, like she's reading from a book.

"so you're supporting dad?" Sasha asked.

"I'm not, but for the love of our mother, lets take things easy, till when that Mgbeke gives birth." Kemi pleaded

"Wait? no way! I want that weenie out of my father's house!" Sasha snapped.

"Listen, Sasha, we're gonna do a DNA test...."

"I don't believe that crap! She should get outta the house before the roof comes crumbling down on her!" Sasha yelled.

"Sasha don't yell at me!"

"I just did! Auntie Kay, you're his first child for crying out loud! Stop acting like some slowpoke and speak out for your mother- our mother!" Sasha wailed

"You just called me a slowpoke?"

"Get off my line!" Sasha snapped.

"Sasha? Hello?..." the line went dead.

"I'm in trouble...." Kemi sobbed throwing her over her head.
"God please help me..." she wailed.

Hissing loudly; Sasha glared at her ringing phone. First it was her mother calling for more than ten times, then its Cassandra disturbing . She rejected the call, she doesn't want to speak with any of them, they should keep to themselves atleast.

Her phone vibrated, a new message icon displayed on the screen.

'Sasha please pick my calls, please
from Cassie.'

she drew a long hiss as cassandra started calling again.

"Hello?" Cassandra quiped gratefully as Sasha picked the call.

"I thought we aint in talking terms!" Sasha fumed.

"Oh pulleease, spare that Tigress!" Cassandra snapped.

"You didn't call to insult me did you?"

"Look! I need to talk to Kemi now!" Cassandra replied.

"And when did my phone number start looking like Kemi's?" Sasha asked irritated.

"Please Sasha just give her the phone lemme speak to her...her phone line aint going through!" Cassandra yelled.

"I'm not giving my phone to her!" Shasha ended the call.
She should go yell at someone else, definitely not Sasha Williams.

She grabbed her phone angrily as it started ringing again.
"Stop pestering me Missy!" she barked into the phone.

"Lady Sassy..." a cool voice began.

"Brother Dee? Is that you?" Sasha asked her temper cooling off

"Yea, hope you're fine?" Dapo didn't sound jovial.

"yeah, you?"

"Not bad..could you please give the phone to Kemi? Please?" Dapo pleaded,

"Yea..hold on." she spoke, running to Kemi's room.

Standing by the dresser, she watched Kemi speak sleepily into the phone.
"Talk to me...I'm all ears..." Kemi said rubbing her eyes.

"What?!" She rose to her feet startling Sasha.

"Oh my God! Dapo are you kidding me or..." Kemi was prancing up and down the room.

"See Dapo, take things easy okay...I'll call you by evening, tell mum to take everything easy, please." Kemi said whilst ending the call, her body trembling.

"Aunty Kay are you alright? Mum-dad? They're alright?" Sasha asked looking concerned.

"Yess....Sasha leave me alone." Kemi replied fighting back tears.

"Buh...what did Dapo say?" Sasha pestered

"Sasha get the heck outta my room!" Kemi screamed at her.

"Buh..you shouldn't transfer your agression on me...its just that I care!" Sasha was at the point of screaming.

"keep your 'care' to yourself! Sasha leave my room!" Kemi yelled tears streaming down her face.

"Buh..."

"Sasha!" Kemi screamed
"Leave at once, I don't wanna talk to you!" she wailed

"Okay fine!" Sasha turned bumping into Tunji.

He looked from his wife to Sasha, his eyes full of questions.

"I didn't do anything to her." Sasha muttered brushing past him.

"It's okay..." Tunji whispered hugging his wife.

"Wanna tell me about it?" He asked when her tears stopped flowing.

"No." she shook her head.

"Sure?"

she nodded

He cuddled her to sleep, he knew better. She'd open up, when the time is due.

**********
Hitting her fist angrily against the wall of her room, Sasha blew with anger. Who does Kemi thinks she is anyway? She's a Williams too but why are they keeping talks from her? Or was it that her father died?

"God forbid." she muttered. She wasn't ready to be an orphan.

She dailled Kenny, rubbing her dreadlocks expectantly.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Ken...whats up?" Sasha tried to sound cheerful.

"i'm good Sassy...missed you..." Kenny chuckled.

"Same here... Kenny how's everybody?"

"Fine." Kenny replied sharply.

"My dad is okay? Kenny are sure?"

"Yea, fine." Keny replied.

There was a long pause.
"Kenny is there something you don't wanna tell me? About my family?" Sasha pestered.

"No...everybody is okay." Kenny almost stuttered.

"Kenny, If you don't tell me the truth, I'd never forgive you!" She threatened.

"Sasha...mum made me promise not to tell you." Kenny said in a whisper

"C'mon tell me." Sasha urged.

"Nooo."

"Okay...fine then." Sasha gave up.

"Sasha please don't hang up..." He pleaded.

"What?"

"Why don't you come over, things aint good atall..."

"Nevermind!" Sasha ended the call.

She hugged her pillow, as sweat trickled down her face.
She'd talk to Tunji, he'd put her in the flight heading to portharcourt the next morning.

Barbra downed her second glass of soda, peering at her wristwatch. What's wrong with her husband? She mused, he'd asked her not to go out, that he's got something important to discuss with her. Its close to twelve noon and he's yet to emerge from his study.

She poured more drink into her glass, she've been waiting for weeks;just for him to open up and tell her what's up. At first, she thought its got to do with Sasha, but Kemi told her Sasha's alive and well, that had erased the thought of her losing a daughter she cherished though they weren't in talking terms.

The doorbell rang startling her. Whoever the unwanted visitor was! She hissed.

"Hi." A lady greeted as she opened the door.

"Hey.." Barbra wasn't sure she've seen that face before.

"You must be Barbra, aint it?" The Lady grinned.

"I'm Mrs Williams, and how may I help you?"

"Help me? Well..my name is Joyce to start with.."

"So?" Barbra sounded impatient.

"May I come in?"

"come in? I don't who you are yet!" Barbra snapped, the Lady's smile was irritating her.

"The last time I checked, this house belongs to Williams right?" Joyce eyed her.

Barbra heart raced, what was wrong.
"I think you should re-check again, cos this house belongs to The Williams Family, that is;his wife and children" she tried.

"Talking about his wife and children.." Joyce grimaced

"hello..what's going on?" Williams appeared behind Barbra.

"Just some ill-mannered lady.." Barbra stepped back for her husband to have a full view.

"Eeeiiy...I...uhm..Joyce...errm" Williams stuttered wishing he would drop dead.

"So you know her?" Barbra asked disgusted.

"I ...uhm...sweerie...can I have a word with you please." Williams led his wife away.

"Better tell her the whole truth!" Joyce called after him, pulling her bags into the house.

"So who's she?" Barbra fired as soon as they stepped into their bedroom.

"Calm down sweerie..lets talk this over." Williams pleaded looking for the right words.

Barbra exhaled sharply, she just hope its not what she's thinking.

"Baby, you know about 30 years ago, I professed my love for you... and you know that no matter what, I still love you right?" williams took her hands.

"You haven't answered my question!" Barbra said in a fierce whisper.

"I'm sorry Barbra..I...it was a mistake...I never wanted to do that, I won't ever hurt you.." a pause
"It happened during the send-off party I attended few months ago..."

"What happend? You'll save me alot of heartache if you would go straight to the point." Barbra was trembling.

"She's carrying my...my...child." Williams concluded in a low voice.

There was a roar of laughter, Barbra laughed really hard.
"Your Baby? Your child?" she found her voice.

Williams nodded.

Her five fingers circled his face with full force
"Bastar.d!" she muttered.
"You must be very st.upid and shameless."

williams backed away.

"Williams you? You of all people? After all we've been through?" Barbra wailed.

"I knew it! I always knew you would hurt me beyond repair." she wiped her tears.

She grabbed her car keys and started out of the room.

"Barbra please..."

"Don't...don't you try touch me! I'll strangle you!" she wagged a finger at him, before running out of the house.

Joyce rose to her feet as Barbra rushed past her.

"You she-devil! You've got what you want right? Destroy my home right?" Williams yelled at her.

"You didn't remember I'm a 'she-devil' when you were oohhing and aahing under me at your friends's party right?" Joyce shot back, her hand akimbo.

"you can't blackmail me!" Williams growled.

"Blackmail? That's what I just did. That night would forever be memorably aint it? Well I'm here, and you can savour more memorable nights!" Joyce taunted

Williams was speechless.

"You're gonna show me to my room huh? I need to rest my back:" she yawned.

"You came to stay here?"

"Yea..I came to stay- forever! Or are you gonna throw the mother of your unborn child out?" she grimaced.

"You can stay in any room downstairs, don't venture up the stairs." Williams replied defeated.

"Please help me with some of my bags." Joyce picked her hand bag, walking towards the direction Williams showed her.

Williams shook his head sorrowfully.
"God where are you? Come to my aid." he raised his palms.

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honour thy father and mother;which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee and thou mayest live long on earth......Ephesians chapter 6 verse 1 to 3..." Sasha read aloud to herself, as she observed her reflection in the mirror. She wished Kenny was there to watch her quote scriptures...
A loud chuckle escaped her throat, no one would believe that. But she has to do that, she've got a presentation to make that morning in her school, her topic was OBEDIENCE...the irony was that she was disobedient.

"You see, God loves obedient kids, He detests the disobedient ones. Act good and gain God's love....never talk back at elderly people, do not argue with people older than you..." She spoke on pretending she has the audience in her room.

Giggling nervously, she picked her books. She've learned well.

"Ekushe-weldone." Kemi clapped.

Sasha frowned."Gumorrin."

"Moorrrin" Kemi replied.
"Wonders shall never end! So Sasha Williams now read The Bible?" Kemi laughed.

Sasha smiled-that was just the beginning, she thought, her teachers reactions would be more.

"I'm to school, aint you going to..."

"Yes, I'm not going to work today." Kemi interrupted her making Sasha stare at her.
"Good news!" Kemi moved closer to her excited.

Sasha corked an eyebrow"Uhum."

"Tunji went to the hospital yesternight....To get my lab report."

"Go on..." Sasha's heart was racing.

"Guess what baby sis....The result shows I'm Pregnant." Kemi laughed.

"Wait..wait..wait...Hold on." Sasha could not believe her ears.

"you mean there's a baby in there...now?" she pointed at Kemi's stomach.

Kemi laughed letting Sasha caress her belly.

"Oh my! I'm so happy!" Sasha flung her books away hugging her sister tightly.

"Could you please ease up the hug, you might crush the baby" Tunji complained hands akimbo.

"Ama crush you then." Sasha sprung into his arms.
"Kenny should hear this! They should have stayed longer to hear this news."

"I called them all...everybody's happy." Tunji replied.

"Wow, I'm getting a niece or nephew very soon, I'll soon have a baby to bully." Sasha cranked her fist.

"Ehn! Did I hear you clearly?" Tunji feigned anger.

"You heard me, I'm pinch his or her lips, pull the ears, in short, I reserve the rest." Sasha laughed.

"Hian! Kirikiri might be far, but I think its drawing closer to you, ama get you locked up" Tunji warned her.

"Sasha , time for school." Kemi interrupted them.

"yea" Sasha picked her books.
"Bye," she hugged them.

"Epesians chapter 6 verse 1 Children obey your parents...." she chanted running out of the house- full of joy.

Williams folded his arm round his head in a bid to stop the throbbing, but it was a failed attempt.
"Williams, you're in trouble" he groaned, hitting his desk.

He had sent Kola and Cassandra out during Easter so he could face Barbra and tell her the truth, but he couldn't face her- he could not say anything. How on earth does he expect her to take what' going on? He wished he never did what he did, if he could turn back the hands of time, he would straighten his paths.

"Excuse me sir? Miss Joyce is here to see you." his secretary announced peeping into his office.

He simply nodded, he feared his head would burst open, if he spoke.

"Hello sweetie." Joyce a lady in her mid Thirties walked in, clad in in a gown that covers her protruding abdomen.

"You don't look good..." she observed.

"Joyce why don't you leave me alone!" Williams snapped.

"Leave you alone? Well, have you told your wife about the pregnancy?" Joyce grimaced.

"Joyce keep my family out of this!" Williams glared at her.

"Oh puuleeasse! I didn't beg you to get me preggie did I? You said I should keep baby isn't it? Don't even try bullsh:iting me okay?" She hissed angrily.

"I asked you to keep the baby, cos its against my faith to kill. I can't marry you cos its against my faith too. Joyce, you're asking for too much! I'm a family man with grown up kids and I love my family." Williams replied

"The child I'm carryin isn't your kid ehn? Look! Better tell you wife o! Or I'll go see her myself!" Joyce threatened walking out of his office.

"My God, where are you?" Williams whined.
"Please come to my rescue..." he lifted his palms up.

He cursed the day he met Joyce, at a friend's send off party, he got drunk and Joyce came along...

Micheal watched his father with keen interest as he pranced up and down, clasping his phone his ears at intervals.

Amaechi could feel his son's eyes boring into his back, he felt really uncomfortable, whatever was keeping Folake from coming.

"Dad?" Micheal's voice startled him.
"Other passengers are already getting on board."

"Oh yes..errm, we're waiting for Folake." Amaechi was trying his best not to stutter.

"Can't we go without her?" Micheal whined.

"She's the sole-mind behind this journey." Amaechi replied.

"Oh, I see..but I thought you said she's your boss' business partner?" Micheal asked.

"Oh yes.."

"Then call your boss and tell him we had to leave without her!" Micheal interrupted impatiently.

"Mike, you won't understand..." his father began.

"Of course I do, so mummy was right after all" Micheal frowned.

"What?"

"Yea...that you're seeing other women" Micheal eyed him.

"You're not gonna believe those crap your mother told you, are you?" Amaechi almost shrieked.

"I believe her! Dad don't forget I'm an adult, I know everything." the younger man said angrily.

"Mike, that's not true." Amaechi defended himself.

"Well, prove to me that you aint guilty."

"How?"

"By boarding that plane with me to paris -now" Micheal replied looking deep into his father's eyes.

Amaechi sighed heavily
"Very well then."

"Good, can we join the other passenger now?" Micheal scoffed walking off.

with music blasting from the long-sleeky speakers, the living room was looking far from being organised as all the furnitures were moved to a far end. The trios-Sasha, Kola and Kenny were sweating profusely. Sasha was teaching them some kung fu Moves.

"Kola, do the crane style" she instructed

"Yes Sifu!" Kola held his right hand in the left, folding his palms so that his five fingers met at the middle.

"Good! Kenny, the Praying Mantis, attack Kola."

Kenny swooshed at Kola who dodged, they both engaged in a playful scuffle.

"My oh my!" Sasha laughed
"Is that what I taught you Kola? After dodging, you let the crane pierce at your opponent, Kenny, the praying mantis attacks the neck not the legs."

"Well...you've been watching kung all your life." Kenny laughed slumping to the floor..

"Watch out for the snake!" she charged at kenny fell by his side, curled up, with her hands bent like a snake about to attack.

"Tiger claw!" Kola roared jumping on her.

They were so engrossed, that they didn't notice Folake's presence.

"Turn the damn music down!" Folake squealed.

Kola rushed to the sound system, fiddling with its buttons.

They all stared at her expectantly.

"Where's Kemi?" she asked looking frustrated.

"Went out! Any problem?" Sasha replied.

"Problem? You have no idea what has happened, She didn't wake me up as agreed, now its past ten, I'm supposed to be in a plane heading to Paris!" Folake was close to tears

"Blame it on me, she asked me to wake you up, and I forgot to." Sasha replied carelessly.

"You have no idea what you've done, you foo.l!" Folake screamed.

"Wow, then we've got lots of fools in this house, cos, I'm yet to see a wise person waking up by Ten, expecting to catch a flight she's already missed." Kenny replied uninvited.

"Oh my God!" Folake half walked-half ran to her room.
Her body trembled as she packed her bags, she's leaving the house before she dies of heartache. Tears blurred her vision as she pulled her bags to the living room.

The front squeaked open, Tunji and Kemi walked in happily.
"Uncle..auntie..." Kola ran to hug them.

"Go get the suya from the car." Tunji patted his neck.

"my God! Sister Folake what's wrong?" Kemi asked letting her bag drop.

"Folake are you alright?" Tunji asked suddenly noticing his sister.

Without a word, Folake attempted to walk past them

"Sister fola.." Kemi tried to hold her, but she pushed her away roughly.

Tunji caught her in time as she staggered towards him.

Folake slammed the door loudly behind her, to the amazement of her brother.

Tunji turned to the trios standing before him, they seem uncomfortable.
Slowly Sasha walked into her room with Kenny following closely.

"Auntie..I didn't do anything o, I'm not among o." Kola explained, as Kemi glared at him, Her body shaking with anger.

Quitely Tunji led his wife towards their bedroom.

***********
Blinking rapidly, she counted the ceiling' boxes. Its close to daybreak and she hasn't slept a wink. She tried pulling the covers over her head, but to no avail. The rumbling sound coming from her stomach was enough to give her a sleepless night.
She rolled to the edge of her bed, and remained in that position for a while only for her to jump up when felt something bite her stomach. It was like the hunger was increasing with time, her stomach wall was on fire.

Rubbing her stomach as if to pacify it, she walked to the fridge in her room, it was almost empty except the few bottles of water in it.
Kemi stopped buying Beverages for her since she exhausted them all in a few days.

Her eyes rolled to the wallclock.
"four-fifteen." She muttered.

Nobody ate dinner the night before, due to the incident that occured in Folake's room. Kemi fell ill; after weeping for a long time, her husband rang the doctor and nobody mentioned food.

Pulling her night robe over her, she walked briskly to the kitchen still clutching her belly.
She opened the fridge, freezer, almost all the drawers for any ready-made food, she settled for raw noodles. Balancing on a table, she munched the crunchy raw noodles, drinking ice cold water at intervals.

"Sasha?"

she jumped, almost choking.

"What are you doing up this early?" Kemi asked walking into the kitchen.

"I..," Sasha observed her sister, she looked pale, though better than what she's looking like the night before.

"You're hungry?" Kemi asked concerned, whilst eyeing the half eaten pack of noodles.

Sasha nodded quickly, drinking some water.

"sorry, I wasn't able to cook dinner yesternight, you guys could have ordered something from the eatery close by..."

"Oh, Aunty Kemi don't worry, I-we are fine." Sasha smiled.

"Fine? By eating raw noodles?" Kemi asked.

"It's okay and filling." Sasha replied.

"Not good for your health." Kemi walked over to the sink.
"Maybe, you should help out in the kitchen since you're awake."

"Okay." Sasha replied stuffing more noodles into her mouth.

"Sasha keep that away." Kemi instructed.

"Okay." Sasha replied pushing the remaing piece into her already filled mouth.

"Which reminds me. Sasha?"

"Mah?"

"Could you do me a favour?" Kemi wasn't sure.
"Could you please wake Sister Folake, she has a flight to catch by six"

Sasha groaned.

"C'mon. Do this for you helpless sister, you know I can't face her.." Kemi pleaded.

"Okay.." Sasha walked out of the kitchen a different thought on her mind.

She went halfway to the room Folake occupied, and started prancing about, what was she going to do? she has to stop the journey, atleast for Micheal's sake.

Kemi was whisking some eggs, when she felt an arm around her.
"Baby, I warned you to stay in bed, I could do all this." Tunji nibbled at her earlobe.

"But you kept alot of people hungry yesternight? Mr Chef?" Kemi scoffed wiping her hand on her apron.

"Well, I had to be with you." Tunji defended himself.

"You won't believe my sister was up by four eating raw noodles." Kemi hugged him.

Tunji was about to speak when Sasha walked in.

"Aunt...errm Uncle Teejay good morning."

"Morn'in raw indomie lady." Tunji teased.

"Not my fault." Sasha laughed.
"Aunty, she said she isn't leaving till eight in the morning." She said with a neutral face.

"But I thought..." Kemi started to say.

"Yeeesss! I told her that too, but she said their flight has been rescheduled." Sasha cut her short.

"You mean Folake?" Tunji asked.
Kemi nodded.
"I was expecting such too, The aviation services is really depreciating." He added.

Kemi eyed Sasha, she could'nt trust her.

"Aunty, you can ask her yourself if you don't believe me o." Sasha raised her palms up.

"That isn't necessary. So what are we cooking for breakfast?" Tunji changed the topic.

"You wish, Mr chef!" Kemi replied.

"okay....Step back everybody and watch Me do my recipee." Tunji said in an important tone to their amusement

Sasha laughed too, but deep within her she wished Folake won't wake up till she missed the flight.

**********
Glancing at the gigantic wallclock, Sasha fidgetted on a couch. What's keeping them this long? She groaned.
Its friday.Tunji had gone with Kemi to the airport to pick up Kenny and Kola. Her dreams were finally coming true. She imagined how she was going to hug Kenny-real tight, then hug Kola,then...

A high-pitched voice interrupted her. Her head jerked back with her ears pricking up,
"What an awful voice." she muttered.

The voice came louder, singing this time.

Irritated, Sasha stamped towards the room Folake occupied, that woman could cause her a damaged ear drum.

A knock.

"Come in."

Folake straightened up as Sasha walked into the room,

"are you the one singing?" Sasha asked, though she knew the question was foolish.

"Yes." Folake frowned, wondering what the girl was up to.

"Wow, you've got such a nice voice." Sasha nodded with deep sarcasm.

"thanks." Folake replied, though she got the sarcastic note.

"You're welcome. But...errm, it would be very nice if you would lower your voice and better if you would stop singing." Sasha made her point clear.

"Natasha..." Folake began, her anger rising.

"Sasha please." Sasha corrected her.

"Whatever!" Folake screamed. When would the girl stop stepping on her toes, what hasn't she done to get the girl out of her way.

"I'm warning you for the last time to stop talking at me that way. I'm old enough to be your mother for crying out loud."

"You're not my mother." Sasha grimaced.

"Get the hell outta my sight!" Folake yelled.

"Look!" She started as Sasha turned to leave the room.
"Its a good thing I'm leaving tomorrow, so please, I'm begging you, don't just spoil my mood okay?"

"Oh" Sasha exclaimed.
"Paris right?" she corked an eyebrow.

Folake fumed, her hands akimbo.

"I wish you safe journey with someone else' husband." Sasha sniggered dodging the pillow Folake threw at her.

"What's going on here?" Kemi asked .

Sasha spunned,

"Kemi, is this how to go about it? Sending your sister to be a nuisance? Later, you'll fake scolding her? the damages you've done to my brother isn't enough?" Folake descended on Kemi.

"She's not faking anything, you're just throwing accusations. Why don't you face me?" Sasha defended her sister.

"What's happening here? What's wrong?" Tunji walked into the room with Kola and Kenny.

" This barren woman you called your wife is what is wrong here" Folake squealed.

"My sister is not barren!" Kenny spoke out, visibly angry. He doesn't care what happened, but no one dares talk to his family anyhow.

"And who are you? Another hungry relation of hers? Well your sister is infertile, she's failed to give my brother a child after so many years." Folake shot back mockery written all over her face.

" Folake that's enough"
"Sasha, Kenny, get out of this room, " Tunji was trying to create peace.

Sasha bit her lower lip, as she watched Kemi sob silently, her anger rose dangerously.

"Aunty Folake! Yes you!" She said as Folake looked at her suprised.

"You said my sister is barren? Well thank God, she better than some old b-itches who can't still get a man to marry them, all they do is go about following peoples husbands to Paris." Tears clouded her eyeballs as she spoke.

"Oh! I see! She's not yet married?" Kenny put in.
"No wonder! I guess she's hating cos she might have lost her womb during those numerous abortions."

"Oh yea!" Sasha gave Kenny a high five.

Tunji threw his hands over his head, he was in a serious trouble.
Kemi walked out of the room still crying, Kola followed her;wiping his own tears too.

Tunji watched her go his heart rending with grief, he turned to his sister who was looking so dumb and horrified, then to the two teenagers standing before him, he felt like crushing them under his feet. He fought the urge to spank them real hard, stamping out of the room, he slammed the door behind him.

"Well.." Sasha found her voice.
"We're sorry if we hurt you, but it's just that we lack manners."

"Yea, this isn't a good way to meet for the first time. Anyways, my name is Kenny." Kenny added, pulling Sasha out of the room.

The door hardly closed before Folake threw herself on the floor. She wept. Thinking her life over, she let Sasha's voice filter through her mind as she washed her palms with tears.
