TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Bulaveur: 7:01pm On Feb 03, 2025
I guess my previous history helped. Other than that, a dummy flight ticket, letter of intent and also itenary, bank statement and foreign visas.

I added an additional letter because my salary is in crypto so my bank account didn’t really have much in it as all my funds are in crypto.

Congratulations. Wow.

Please share your documents checklist that worked for you.

I got the evisa though. Multiple entry. Applied this month and got it in a little over 2 weeks or so.

hunee:
It is looking like it been a while since someone here was able to get an e visa. True or False?

Anyone got an evisa recently? Tell us how you broke the jinx too because these people have been rejecting evisas alot lately.

Got sms since Friday that passport has been dispatched to ups and I’m yet to hear from them. To think that I was better off picking it up myself since I live around lekki .
Try to visit their office and find out what is going on.

Please who has a contact at Ups? I have been expecting delivery since yesterday and even went to their office and they said my package is “out for delivery” but it doesn’t reflect as such in the tracking website. The contact of the delivery guy they gave me has been switched off since morning.

Away from all these arguments,

For the Android guy, the first break is the hardest. It's not easy but it gets easier.

So I'll advice picking up a cross platform framework like React Native or flutter to help boost your chances.

I don't remember who said it here but everyones journey is different. It took me a year between when I started and when I got my first job.

Regardless, just keep at it.

ProgrammingLearn software development (serious Participants Only) by Bulaveur(op):
This is the first time I'll be making a thread sort of . Anyway, I want to help people who are starting out in tech especially in backend development but if I see someone serious that wants to learn frontend (React) I'll take him or her also.

Prerequisites: pls you should already know HTML, CSS and JavaScript (to an extent. Don't need to be a pro). Reason is, 7 out of 10 people who are absolute newbies will quit or will lack the commitment.

I don't have a lot of time myself, but definitely willing to sacrifice a portion of it. There will be links to materials, you get to discuss your learning with me and I'll answer your questions, there will also be live and pair programming.

Fee? Totally free. That's why I'm emphasizing on serious applicants only. I would hate to waste my time.

That's all I think. Focus stack is MERN. Contact me on WhatsApp (don't call the number biko). 07068840581. I don't know the laws concerning phone numbers here anyway. WhatsApp because replying to mails and the forth and back will be stressful. I deal would be slack but most might not be familiar with it.

On Twitter, I'm @ernestelijah

PS: I'm never serious on Twitter. I joke a lot.

Edit: got some messages from those who don't meet the requirements. Well, if you're a total newbie and you know you can be committed, send me a message all the same.
ProgrammingRe: Pls Help!!...my Hours Of Programming Is Going To Waste by Bulaveur: 9:02pm On May 24, 2021
Hey bro. From what I can see you've learnt/learning html Css and JavaScript. But to get a job, I'm afraid you have to pick up a framework be it frontend or backend. There is serious scarcity of junior software developer roles so the few that emerge comes with a lot of requirements. So your current stack may not cut it.

austinceasar:
I've learnt about the different ways of declaring variables and datatypes, function arrays and objects (2) if & else if statements/switch statements, (3)loops, (4)ES6, and (5) little bit of Debugging.

I don't know if that is solid enough. But i was learning how to build a simple calcualtor, the HTML and CSS was kinda cool, but entering the JavaScript part, I don't even know the first thing to do to make a calcualtor function, until I watched YouTube tutorials which was still somewhat confusing. I felt I was only cramming the codes, not really understanding the rudiments.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: How Did You Get Your First Remote Job? by Bulaveur: 1:29pm On May 16, 2021
My first remote job was on upwork. I had to build a web app for a fitness. More like a feature on the web app for $120 per week.

After that, a full time job with a company based in San Diego.

All I'll say is, invest in a good set-up and peaceful environment. That way you would be productive.

It is no doubt that the way to survive this economy is by getting foreign jobs in which you work remotely and you are paid in foreign currency as well.

If you have ever gotten a remote job, help others identify what the need to do better by answering the following questions.

1. What skill got you your remote job?
2. Where did you find the remote job?
3. What is your pay range?
4. What is the experience like working a foreign remote job?

Please any useful information that will be beneficial to others.

Hello everyone, I called up a few computer institutes here in Lagos to inquire about their Software Engineering Package. I must say, the tuition fees are high, I was expecting below 100k.

Since I cannot afford that, please what's your advice on other courses I can go for?

N.B: Does anyone know any cheap institute I can attend (below 100k)? Or can anyone offer to teach me I'll pay. I am available on Sundays. Thanks.

Na why I day laugh those people way wan go into software development because money day there....not until they find out it's hard grin they go Japa money can't even keep them.
Bro. A lot of people are in it for money and that's not a bad thing. Software development is hard, yes. But you can get better with continuos practice and determination. And also friends because debugging doesn't care about your determination.

NarnieAceTech:
I used to code at average 5-6hours a day during my youth service, depending on what's on my to-do list for the day. Where I served had steady power supply so I had no worries, but since I came back to Lagos, my hood only sees light when NEPA feel like being generous.

It dropped drastically when I started going to Alaba to hustle in my brother's shop, then coming back tired. Same routine monday-saturday. I wish I could get a job that will bring back the vibe. My last job was November 2020.

Was learning VueJs and ReactJs before I stopped (unintentionally took a break).
Pick one between Vue and React. They're both frontend frameworks though react is technically a library. It should reduce your workload. Also make out time to build projects, a portfolio and apply to jobs.

10.5% for 1yr would be for 105k.

90days is like 3mths which 1yr divide by 4

105k/4 should get you an upfront payment of no more than 26k
Thanks a lot

Crypt: someone said the coin is scarce that's why price is up and I ask, who mint the coins. Who regulates it. Who tells him to stop printing. A day will come like mmm when everybody will have crypt and there will be no buyer. What will happen? When can I buy with those coins in Alaba or ladipo. Can I buy cement with it.
Am a novice and will like us to clear some grey area here to educate novices like me. I reiterate, I don't like too much money. One thing at a time, crypto to the left, we are tbillers.
I think you should do a little research on cryptocurrencies. All your questions will be easily answered. FYI: cryptocurrencies are not printed, they are mined electronically. Yes, many stores and websites in the US, UK and other developed countries accept cryptocurrency as a means of payment. It is not regulated but subject to forces of demand and supply.
