cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy I never saw my siblings unclothedness, because we all had our room, but I went to boarding school, we all had a common bathroom, in Uni stayed off campus, we had a very large bathroom that 10 people can comfortably had their bath, so we were always sharing the bathroom, but when I went to marry my ex-wife, they were about 11 in their house, 3 ladies and 8 young men , their parent are late and they share a room and parlor! Shame no dey gree me enter inside their house, because they were all nudist if they accept you as one of them. Somebody was always naked. Which was part of the problem we had in our marriage, she never closed the windows when she was changing her clothes, she still wants to be naked around her siblings.

U09ce:

It wasn't practised in my university. Infact, it's weird for someone to expose their unclothedness even to a same gender, except if there's a marital relationship

I served in Kogi state! This particular lady was always inviting corpers to come and dine in her place. The first day I decided to go! I was served food, as I properly trained man, I said "Thank You Ma"

To thank you host for a meal is considered an insult to the host according to the lady! I did not know! Nobody told me!

3 Times I thanked her she pretended not to hear me.

After I finished eating the fufu, I needed water to wash my hand, I tried calling her attention, but she ignored me, after a while I washed my hand inside the soup bowl, and all hell let loose!

She was very mad, that I came to her house to disrespect her, by saying "Thank Yous" And to crown up the insult, I washed my hand inside the bowl of soup!

She nearly attacked me physically.

To wash your hands inside the plate means "The food was horrible"

I am an Igbo man I wash my hands more than 10 times before I finish eating my swallow! It is not a cultural thing! It is habit!

LeeSmart:
My first culture shock in nigeria was in benue state.
Visited a friend of mine and it was time for dinner, they brought swallow (fufu) and a bowl of water so we could wash our hands. I noticed that my friend will wash his hands inside the bowl every 2 minutes while eating, it became irritating to me i had to giveup eating lol. I was like na like so una dey do for this place?
It happens that almost every Tiv man does that.

Lets hear ur own culture shock experiences guys

You are not far from the truth! My former sister-in-law was up about my business, that I wanted to use her sister for money ritual! Even some of her aunties were taking rubbish! I nearly called off the wedding! I wish I did, because the marriage did not last up to 2 years, full of troubles! Though the one I paid her bride price is regretting her actions, but it is late! There are things you don't say or do while in a relationship except you are burning down the bridge

Ebubu:

Yet I went to uniuyo and all the girls I discussed about marriage were reluctant about marrying Igbo.

They said we are too loud and use our wives married from outside Igbo land for ritual, then marry our own tribes woman with money and enjoy.

They are also very reluctant to move into Igbo land to dwell and base.

The few Akwa Ibom women who married Igbo men, married Igbo men who dwell and base in Akwa Ibom full time, if you dare mention that you’ll be taking her back to the East, that marriage will not hold.

I found out after secondary school that my parents were giving my elder brother 5k monthly as pocket money as a boarder, while they were giving me N30 only for a whole term! N10 for each month! Hunger wan kill me for school! All begging fell on deaf ears. With N700 monthly my mates were the biggest boys in school, imagine having N5k monthly. They did not apologized when I confronted them, Dad got angry and told me off.

My Mum, the only human being that have arrested me with policemen.

Now I am working and supporting everybody generously, Now I an their best child!

Make money! Forgive them for the sake of Jesus Christ Only!

Are a Christian? Have you tried reporting somebody to GOD Almighty to judge!? You should try that! I have reported a few people in my life to GOD and I left HIM to handle them! When you hear how GOD punished your enemy (ies) you will be glad you left HIM to fight your battles for you.

Report him and your situation to GOD

Secondly I promised GOD I will never raise my hand against any woman again in my life, but marriage will try you!

After I beat our house girl and she died! I believe she was died! Because the amount of water I pour on her could have woken her up, if it was mere fainting!

I cried and begged her to wake up, but no way! I cried and cried! I saw my life wasting away in front of me

I just looked up into heaven and asked GOD to please wake her up, if HE does I will never raise my hand on any woman again, just a 2 minutes prayers, she coughed and woke up and asked what happened, thank GOD we were alone in the house! Till date nobody knew such thing happed!

My neighbor slapped me once, because I did not retaliate, she boasted she will do it again, the second time she tried it, I grabbed her husband, an innocent man, minding his own business Oooo! I beat the living day light out of the man while she watched! I told her the next time, she go collect her own. For a long time I had peace in that compound!

After a long while they forgot the beating and started again

One Saturday during compound cleaning, I remembered I bought a brand new heavy cutlass for my work, I brought it out while she was running her mouth, with my palm oil to sharpen and greased it. I noticed the horror looks on their faces, I went on whispering while I sharpen the cutlass.

When I finished, I stood up and asked her "Were you talking to me" before she could answer, I dragged the cutlass on the concrete floor, it clanked and sparks went flying everywhere, everybody took to their heels

From that day till they packed out, nobody troubled me again

N500 everyday for 1 month is N15k, I dont know how much you give her as pocket money monthly, package all of them and be giving her as monthly feeding allowance. Maybe it will be upto N25K to N30k. My friend has a family of 6 person, he said he does not miss giving his wife her N25k monthly feeding allowance and magic happens. For me a family of 3, I was giving madam N30k monthly.
