Nigeria is not a stupid country, you are the one displaying stupidity. Your sense of judgment and decision-making is very poor. Throwing thoughtless tantrums like a kid. You need to learn to calm down and process your decisions and thoughts properly.
Today is a weekend, Saturday morning. If it's an emergency, call the Police station.

There is an email address there. Send them a mail. They are on various social media platforms. Or you expect someone in Alausa to sit down there on Saturday waiting for your call? Does Alausa open on Saturdays?
Hogwash. What you're simply saying is they can perpetrate fraud and no one will hold them responsible because the people who are supposed to judge the matter are or weekends? It's just like saying police shouldn't work on weekends. Criminals are free too perpetrate their crimes because they know the police are on weekend? We really have a long way to go

Bro there is a police station in that computer village. The police station is like a 20 feet container. Just walk in there, make your case and get your refund. They know everything that happens in that market. Had the same experience on a laptop I bought and I got my full refund.
the store I bought the item is very closet to very container you're talking about. Na them them. I know what I'm saying.

The reason you are educated is so that fools like these don't take advantage of you.

Most of these criminals don't understand the consequences of the nonsense they do. If you take these fools up legally, they will start begging and crying.

If you want to get proper redress, report to this agency below. As part of their Investigation, they will come to the shop with State government officials and armed security agents. Lagos no get time for nonsense.

Don't mind the id.iots with their stereotypes. Every time i've been to the computer village, the people that rush to me on the street are Yoruba traders. Few laptop repairs i've done there were done by Yoruba's in their tiny shops.

However, most of the big shops are owned by Igbos.

Every tribe in Nigeria have their share of fraudsters.
Lol. You just said it as it is.

If you are a friend of mine I will tell you how foolish you are to trust anyone in Nigeria to the extent you can buy things without examining but as a stranger don't buy any good without being there live from anybody except those you have gotten the same goods not a different one severally like 20 times before trying such. Left to me I won't even dare it or maybe if it is sand foe construction n even that still cheat with delivering sand that as mud that is how croockered Nigerians are.
I've been buying items from this particular store for so many years now. Matter of fact, I've recommended a lot of customers to them.

All theses il tell u it is a fake story to cus tribal bashing, which is basically what Nairaland is all about.
I'm not stupid. This is the exact reason I didn't put up the names of the people and the tribes involved in this because just like you said it'd just end in a tribal bashing. Something I want to avoid

I noticed that you do not like trouble. If I was the one, I will spend extra 200k to arrest the sales girl. Then truth will come from her mouth. Then they will be pleading to settle. Take the case to court self. Tag the case a stolen item. When you tell the police you are taking the case to court, by then your lawyers are there… they will no know you serious. They will pay you times two of that money. You'd feel sorry for her if you saw the way she kept on begging me. I've learned my lesson though and we move.

The mistake you made was listening to the intial pleading of the lady. She just made over 200k on your head.

You could have picked one or two police from computer village. Give them like 5k, they will threaten those people and makes resolution faster. Without that, they will only be dribbling you, come today, come tomorrow. The truth is that they don't always like to involve in police case, they would have provided the person that acted it out or force the owner to produce him which would have mounted pressure on them. Second option that may be delayed a bit is to involve Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency ( LASCOPA). You must always be at alert whenever you want to buy good product out of computer village. Developers have turned that place to Den of Frauds. Don't always fall for " Nah Original"
Police ke? They called l bluff when I threatened to involve the police. They have their own police outpost in computer village. Na them them. They're all a bunch of criminals both the police and the sellers. This country is a fraud that should be burned to the ground with everything that's in it.

Don't you know that the sets of people that trade in Alaba, Ladipo, Computer Village etc are never to be trusted. They are rogues and bunch of criminals parading themselves as Businessmen. Truth, honesty and integrity are rare commodities in their enterprise.
Exactly. And no one's doing anything about it. And when it deteriorates further and the government finally decides to intervene and flush out these bad people, they start playing the pity card and making it appear as though the govt is taking away their source of livelihood without providing an alternative. I just don't get how long this is supposed to continue. Over 60% of the items sold at computer village are either fake, used, refurbished or with defects.

My guy

They sold second hand starlink to you instead of a Brand New sealed starlink kits.....that is so illegal

Report them to the police ASAP
this is exactly my grouse with them. They're refusing to admit they sold me garbage. I'm trying to under how you buy a product and you find there are completely different serial No's on the indoor unit, outdoor unit, and the carton itself. When the so called supplier came he claimed the serial numbers were all supposed to be different. I started to wonder when a carton became an appliance to have it's own separate serial No different from item inside the carton. In all of these... I'd say my only disappointment is in the store owner. This is someone with who I've been doing business. I've recommended a lot of people to him many of which he doesn't even know.

ikeja computer village, never pay down for an items without you present there for inspection, secondly most of these guys there know nothing they are complete criminals and scammers and they hide under 90percent of store owners to cajole people into buying from them , please next time don't repeat such a mistakes and please post their pictures, there is nothing like don't escalate the matter so our boss won't know of anything that ensues about us for over 400k hell no,if you are willing to listen to their sympathetic pleas that must have mean you are one son of a billionaire whom the 400k is just a chicken change to.
To top everything off. It shows on starlink website that that there's a 20% price slash on this item and the it'll last till november. Shipping it doesn't cost much and it takes less than two weeks to arrive.
I just don't get the idea behind why people do the things that they do. If there 1000 people doing business in computer village, over 900 are criminals.

There was not. Can you imagine? They were trying to refer me to the person from whom they picked the item from. The whole thing is funny because the store owner whom I rever and respect so much. I expected him to do something about it, but it turns out they're all in it together.
CrimeRe: My Horrible Experience At Computer Village by burp18(op): 1:50am On Oct 07, 2023
One last thing I learned more about this is very few people deserve pity. The fraudster of a salesperson with whom I we initiated this transaction kept pleading and begging me not escalate the matter because in her words. If the boss finds out, they'd lose their job. When we finally took the matter the store owner. The person didn't even hesitate to throw me under the bus. Fraudster was just in a hurry to absolve themselves and make it seem I didn't even know what I was buying or how it works. Nigerians are devilish people.

Now, I could put contact and the pictures of the people involved in these. But it doesn't get any messier than it already is.

I'm just saying you can be a legitimate business person and still do good. If you have to lie your way or cheat and deceive unsuspecting clients to stay in business, then you're not going to stay in business for long.

On returning the item. Just I had predicted they would. They started to give me stupid craps about how I must have started the registration half way and my account is the one tied to the device and stuff.

I got to understand something. Nigerians are mean. By mean I mean Nigerians are very mean people. I have travelled across about 34 of the 36 states in Nigeria and northerners are about the only place where you'd find people with a little bit of honesty.
CrimeRe: My Horrible Experience At Computer Village by burp18(op): 1:29am On Oct 07, 2023
On unboxing the item. So many things didn't seem to add up.

The serial No /PN No on the carton was different from the device in the carton itself. How's this even possible? I began to ask. Tried to register for the for time and it kept on giving thesame error message.
An account was already assigned to this device. What in the world ? How's this even possible?

We reached out to the sellers and all they could tell us was to contact starlink? Like how? For a device we got for almost N400k. We decided to return it because there's just no sense wasting such a huge amount on refurbished useless worth of crap.

It turns out this fraudster of a said person and their colleague did not get this item from their store. The store is a pretty big store and we've bought items from them before. I recommended my friend get it from them because I was under the impression they were getting it from their store.
CrimeMy Horrible Experience At Computer Village by burp18(op): 1:19am On Oct 07, 2023
So i had to get a couple of things at computer village Ikeja I'd need for a job I'm doing. I went to the market and after getting the things that I needed, I received a call from my friend who's in need of a STARLINK device. Who would have guessed? Coincidentally, that had it at the store. I confirmed the price and sent the details to my friend. He had a bit of trouble making the payment so I collected the contact of one of the sales rep in the store and told them I'd give them a call.

Following day, I was on my way already out of Lagos, I was at the park when my friend called and said he was ready to initiate tge transaction. I told him I wasn't anywhere close to computer very but I have a contact that works there. Had a bit of trouble convincing him to go ahead and completing the transaction with them since he needed it the following day.

After much convincing and he finally agreed, he made the payment amd the said sales person got a dispatch rider to take it to the park.

Waited the following day for the item to arrive and we heard nothing. Then came the second, third, fourth, and even fifth day. Our patience was wearing out and we were already asking for a refund.
The item finally arrived on eve of the sixth day. It was already getting dark and it was too late to get it to the clients location for installation.

Are you speaking out of hate or irrational right now. So the entire community attacked the army according to your baseless analysis?

Security job isn't for feeble minds like you who can't do simple analysis.
Kaduna where I'm based houses the highest number of military outfits, barracks/units in the country. I see soldiers everyday and I know how they operate. They must have justifiable reason for attacking this place the way they did. All I'm saying is when you aid criminals it affects not only you buy people around you. What happens to you or your brother directly or indirectly affects you. You have no idea what some of these soldiers must have had to pass through for them to have been killed by some rag tag gunmen so their anger is very understandable. Besides, it would never have gotten to this if they hadn't attacked the security personnel in the first place.
