Christianity EtcRe: Lagos Prophet Sets Member On Fire Because God Asked Him To by butanep(m): 10:55am On Jan 19, 2016
I am a believer but of recent I don't believe some men of God again. They say what God didn't say...

It took days for God to speak to moses. He even had to go to a desolate land to hear the voice of God clearly. This days some men of God will just be in the altar within 30mins and they will say God had spoken to them hundred of tinz. Most of these pastors are just using their instinct to deceive their gullible members.

I am no longer moved again with what some men of God say... Na so one called me out one day say the spirit of God say I should confess? I was just smiling. I said confess what? He said the sin I ve committed. I said what sin? He said I will die within 14days if I don't confess. I just stand for altar dae look the man. I just know that spirit is really n't from God. After that day I stopped the church. It's more than 14days, am still living fine & fresh.

Infact I don't meet pastors again. I see no need to do it. If God can answer the prayers of my pastor, then why will he n't answer mine when I pray.

I love my nairaland & I explore the section that caught my fantasy. Most ladies have the mindset that guyz register on nairaland to look for friendship or relationship. That is a very wrong perception.

Which skill can you encourage/advise someone to acquire?
Depending on what you have passion for... but acquire a relevant skills.

You can learn barbing. Don't look @ it as a poor man's job ooo.

Learn a good computer programme. If you don't have money just learn you corel draw and photoshop very well. You might be able to use it produce I'd cards, flex, Posters, suv etc

Learn how to fix, repair & maintain AC. Majority of people now have Ac.
It can even be repair of laptops n handset.

Tailoring n videography.

Just make sure you learn something skillful. Nothing like having a business of your own. A private man will lock you up from 7am to 7pm just because of 60k.

Life after service is tough.

The last time i advised some one in a similar situation,

The question i asked was if he will resign if his pay were to be 1million per month after tax.

He replied "i will die there"

I told him "son, die there"

The best way to get back at eediots like that manager is to appear happy and form, " he no pain me" till he faces his own waterloo soon.
So since the work is not 1m, he should die there abi...

What kind of slavery advised is that?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Referee Details Or "Available Upon Request"? What's Your Opinion? by butanep(m): 11:15pm On Jan 17, 2016
Nice thread... let me drop my point.

I think including referees in your CV is an obsolete system of computing CV of the 21st century except you are convinced that the referee will make you stand on a better chance of getting the Job.

Fraudsters and scammers are everywhere looking for prey to feed on so we need to be careful about it because we often send our CV online to every job recruiting site without even knowing the real or fake ones. When I registered on jobberman then, I started getting invite message from one fate GNLD people. I had to send a message to them to disconnect me from their server.

I had an experience in a bank also where my referees almost make me loss the job. When the recruiter looked at my referees in my CV, he asked about them, their net worth and if I can convinced them to their bank. I said one is a civil servant and the other is a lecturer, the man just kissed. He said they need a referee that is into a good business. I was surprised how has that got to do with the my job in the bank. Someone with a referees of a business tycoon got the job almost immediately because the said person is his uncle. From that day I had to review my CV.

The stupid part of it is that the job na 60k & they need a referee that worth over 10million. Banks can be so stingy n useless...

It all depend on the organisation policy and HR personnel. I think referee should be neglected when writing CV. You can just have a one page referees which you take along when going for interview. When you are asked you tender it to them and give good reasons why it is not part of the CV. That available upon request looks awkward to me and I feel it will be same to employers n recruiters.

The point is that if the job is yours, with or without referees, you will get it.

That's my point.

You are barking up the wrong tree Mr. whoever you are. Seriously you do not want to argue what you have absolutely no idea about.

I made a factual statement based on experience and you're here ranting to justify your insecurities. Young man am not here to make you feel good about yourself or your situation, neither am I putting anyone down for not having a Job. All fingers are not equal and can never be.

I get the need to encourage yourself and feel good about the certificate you're waving about, but do not for one second believe that I give a hoot about your "victim" mentality.

Again back to my first post, since you obviously missed it due to your very myopic view of other people's opinion I did say "MOST". Whether you agree with my assertions or not is again not my problem.

When employers say that MOST Nigerian graduates are not employable, they are saying it as it is, irrespective of the cause. This is not an issue for debate. Nobody said they cannot be trained, heck even a dog can be trained, but as a graduate, employers expect you to have a certain level of knowledge and competence before considering you for an offer. Unfortunately either due to our poor educational or infrastructural system or due to whatever reasons under the sun, Nigerian schools fail to produce the human capital that can drive innovation.

Yes I was also of the opinion of companies hiring and training staff, until I saw the business side of things, companies are fighting for survival, just as graduates are fighting for survival. Everyone is a victim of the system, so sitting in one corner and sulking because I told you the bitter truth displays traits of Insecurity.

@Bolded

Well call it trash, but get this clearly, having a third class was the best thing that happened to me grin grin grin If you ever get the opportunity to meet me in person, you may understand why I said that.

My last advice, deal with your insecurities, you sound like an intelligent fellow but your objective reasoning abilities needs some honing.

Have a fulfilled day.

Funny lady,

Sorry to spoil your mood and all other fellow Nigerian graduates.

To be frank nobody is downgrading Nigerian graduates, its the system we found ourselves. That not withstanding like I said on my first post, its a mean statement to make but sadly it's the truth. I am a Nigerian graduate as well from a state university for that matter.

However if you get the opportunity to sit on the other side of the table during interviews, you would understand why I said "I tend to agree" with the employers.

Sometimes I am too serious for my own good, maybe that's how I manage to motivate myself, all the same, the truth is always bitter.

I am still aiming higher, there is nothing like "almighty job"

Anyways thanks for forgiving me...
Wishing you all the best.
Please get out from this thread. What are you doing here since you work for an international company. Go to career section.

You that is employable. Leave others you classified as "un-employable" enjoy the fun of the thread.

Do you understand the meaning of the WORD Hypocrite,
In what way have I been a hypocrite or practised hypocrisy, when people like you use words out of context it makes assertions of employers hold true.

Again, I said MOST, which means a vast majority, it certainly doesn't mean all, again it means that statistically the graduates that are employment ready when they leave the school system are few.

Irrespective of what might have resulted in the deplorable state of our educational system that has brought about our inability to leave up to expectations, this does not change the FACT.

On your believe that I assumed, I have attended interviews, and also had the opportunity to interview others, I can say for a fact that MAJORITY of students acquired certificates without any form of learning whatsoever.

Now back to being hypocritical, I studied in Nigeria, and I didn't even have the opportunity to study in a federal university, I came from a very modest family, plus I graduated with a third class grin grin YET I work with an international software company with team mates from different parts of the world. I didn't get here by chance, I made myself employable in the face of everything that was against me, and God in his mercies saw my sincerity and opened the right doors to me.

Being employable goes beyond your grades it has alot to do with your knowledge and skill set within your chosen niche. Otherwise going by your assertions companies should start employing graduates and training them afresh just because the system is hadicapped.

So please KEEP QUIET and stop calling people names you have never met or have no idea who they are.
Keep quiet. There are thousands of people that ve acquired better skills than you do but no opportunity to showcase them.

Third class graduate saying trash. The system we run in Nigeria is poor hence it limit most undergraduate from getting the required skills. A system where an engineering undergraduate will go for IT and start carrying files instead of working in the workshop.

Companies are not ready to train and build graduate in their required skills of profession. They want already made. In abroad, when you are hired, you are trained. As far you can be trained, then you are employable.

Some Nigeria employers are myopic and forget their past so easily. 90% of them where taken for training before they ascend to that level but they want fresh graduate get it overnight. Nigerian graduate are good because most of them do well outside the shores of Nigeria.
