PoliticsAmaechi & Jonathan Fight Again: Soldiers Take Over Stadium by butanep(op): 1:56pm On Jan 25, 2015
Ahead of the January 28, 2015 planned Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential rally in Port Harcourt, heavily fierce looking armed soldiers and policemen on Saturday took over the 40,000 capacity Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium at Igwuruta-ali, Ikwerre local government area of the state.

It was gathered that the soldiers had moved into the facility early on Saturday morning and kept vigil till dawn.

The APC-led Rivers State government and the state PDP have been engaged in war of words over the planned use of the stadium by the opposition PDP in the state.
“Our (PDP) presidential rally will hold at that stadium because it belongs to the people. It was built by tax payers’ money. We are working with all stakeholders to ensure that the right thing is done to move the nation forward.”

It would be recalled that the state chairman of the PDP, Felix Obuah, had said that the state government turned down the request of the party to use the facility for its presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday, January 28.

Speaking on the issue, governorship candidate of the PDP, Nyesom Wike, at a meeting with the Goodluck-to-Goodluck Political pressure group in Port Harcourt, recently, assured that the APC used the same facility for theirs and therefore, the PDP will host President Jonathan there.

The APC had used the facility to flag-off the party’s presidential campaign for the South-south earlier this month, even as it was used late last year to celebrate the anniversary of the Supreme Court judgment.

Wike said: “The PDP presidential rally will hold at the Amiesimaka Stadium on Wednesday, January 28. The APC held their own presidential campaign rally on January 6, 2015 and an earlier rally on October 25, 2014 in the same stadium.

“We are committed to the peaceful use of the stadium for our presidential campaigns,” the state PDP governorship standard bearer said.

But the state governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, at a rally for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Etche local government of the state explained that the PDP cannot use the stadium, saying it was undergoing more construction work.

The Presidency has decided to use the stadium by force, hence the deployment of soldiers to the place.

I might be talking rubbish but you know the school is just an image. The school is in Abia. Asked some of your friends that graduated from that school, they will tell you the school is just a figure-head. Am not sure federal govt knows if that school is even still existing.

The school is even in NUC black-list if it may interest you. They parade students together in department taking courses that have not been accredited by NUC.

The officials in that school starting from the VC are all fraudulent.

II'm not competing with any body, if u get there b4me, congratulations..if you come out here to tell me am lying about some courses not accredited in the university, it therefore means you don't know about the recent development going on in your school.
It is not a matter of I heard, it happened in my very eyes where graduates of accounting, banking & finance, and other business related courses where called out in camp( batch c\14) and were asked to return all their kits and return back home because their courses have not been accredited. It was a day of tears for them. Just called any student from your school & asked about the recent development.
That school is fraudulent... I just pity those that will graduate from those department this year because it has not been accredited by NUC.

Another employment scam from this university. They will collect money for application from huge applicant & at the end collect very few persons.

Some of these vacant position list above are not vacant, the university is just fraudulent in nature. They even have persons taking up some position listed above.

The university has been fraudulent since ages, that is why they couldn't accredit some of their courses, that most of their student where sent home from NYSC camp due to failure of the management to accredit some courses in the university.

Even a new established university don't have such openings for vacancies not to talk about university that has been operating for years now.

Am not discouraging anyone from applying but just know most of the opening here is pure scam from the highest order.

Its depressing that nigerian youths can express their greed even on forum like this.
A year of community service even in an hamlet, is not only beneficial to the poor community which you are posted too, but an opportunity for you to see life from another view.
The only opportunity those people have for quality education and an introduction to the outside world is your person and your knowledge.
I was amazed to see how backward some places in the eastern nigeria is, and how errorneous most lagosians view the rest of nigeria.
You can only appreciate a culture better if you experience and get to understand the people.
The partiality involved in the primary postings happens in everyday nigerian life, not limited to youth service alone, so even if you are petochemical engr graduate teaching in primary school during your service year, it doesn't stop you from getting into shell after your service year, if indeed you are worth working in shell.
I love this. Good work bro. Service is not all about personal gains but selfless contribution to your fatherland. I never knew some places in Nigeria are under-developed until I was mobilized for service... the villages were just happy seeing corpers around and the children were excited to see us... shouting corper, corper... any time they see us... we were source of joy to them. The children in school respect us more than their teachers...

Service is not actually a waste of time... It is a period for you to see the nation in a different perspective...

RomanceShe Took The Exact Transport To Visit A Guy; She Is Now Stranded by butanep(op): 4:57pm On Jan 11, 2015
My friend invited a girl to his place. The distance was a little far, which cost 1000 naira. He agreed to pay her transport to & fro when she arrive his place. They settled for a date which the girl agreed on...

As the girl was leaving her home, she called the guy, and he was expecting her. Few minutes after she left home, the girl called that the money at the park was increased by 200 Naira. He told her to pay that he is going to pay her back... Lol & behold, she said the only money with her is 1000 naira. she narrated to the guy, she left home with 1100, she used 100naira to the park and now left with 1000....

My friend was so annoyed with her for saying such. So she was asking what to do... that she don't ve any money left with her...

The next thing he did was to switch off his phone, that the girl knows his address, that she will come if her spirit want her to come... that he is not going to do anything...

My question to nairalander is this; Was my friend wrong for switching off his phone or the girl for being foolish?
