For those asking why a male is using my moniker, please I'm a female and it's still my moniker but I posted this on behalf of a very good friend, and he has read all the comments. The advice refreshed him and give him some resilience to man up and prepare to handle whatever the storm that will come from his people. You won't know it but the situation bothers him and I've never seen a shoulder stoop so low with sadness.

Please, I need your positive comments. I'm the only son of my parents after six girls. My mother pampers me a lot and guard me like mother hen. She always want me to be near her. She always want to control my life, choose what I should do and what I shouldn't do. What I should wear and I what I shouldn't wear. Anytime I disagree with her intensely over her control of my life. She will cry and guilt talk me into accepting her own ways by telling me that they looked for a male child for a long time uh and later God bless her by giving me to her after many years. She will remind me how her husband parents looked at her like she had failed before God bless her with me. All my elder sisters always support her controlling of my life. My dad supports her too. All the school I went to, she make sure that it was close to her, from primary school to university. After my first degree, I move to another state to pursue a second degree in law. She supported the idea because the university which is in Calabar is near to the state where my family stays. They stay in Uyo. Now I'm in year three and since the lockdown, I have began to learn things like barbing and driving which will not be possible if I'm still near her as she believed that she and my dad will find a job for me at Uyo when I finished my schooling. To cut the long story short, she don't want me to do anything apart from schooling and after that I have to come back to Uyo to work. But I have different perspective, I want to establish my own businesses like barbing and fishery. Currently I'm learning barbing but she has began to nag me about when I'm coming back to Uyo for Christmas since school will not resume this year again. She said my sisters and my dad are also worried that I should come home and be with them. Please how do I convince her that I have become a man, that I have ideas I want to develop? How do I convince her that I will not be home for Christmas without causing any family quarrels? Please advice me, help a brother out. Thank you.

It depends on personality. Some people choose their friends and who they like to associate with, others don't. I choose my husband, I found gentleness and selflessness in him. He compliments me and today we are living okay and solving whatever hurdles that come across our path together. People are different, both men and women. And ability for someone to choose a person he or she is compatible with, is not gender thing at all. It is just a matter of personality. I'm an introvert, big one. I don't hang out much and I choose my friends and people I associate with, not the other way round. That's just my personality, just like some people out here. Stop making everything gender issue. People should be able to live their lives and enjoy it irrespective of their personalities. The world is a large place, so live your life and leave other people to live theirs. Stop all the classification of alpha male is good, alpha female is bad, beta men is simp or beta female is good. Stop shaming people based on their personality, allow them to live too and discover who love them as they are. What works for you may not work for another person. Stop making people feel inferior. All those men you kind of people classified as simp, are you guys better than them? Stop living another person's life please and focus on your own life.

The only advice I will give to you is to go out there and become a man. Will you depend on them forever? At 26? Go out and hustle, get your own place, even if it's one room, start from there, do something with your life. Start small, make it and stand on your own feet. That way, no one will reduce you to nothing, not even your father. You brought this upon yourself by still living under his house at your age. If you live under him, you have to abide by his rules and take his shit! Sorry but that's the hard truth!

All these people shouting 'beat them to death', 'beat them to pulp', 'equality this equality that', you haven't meet a woman who carries a silencer. Some people will just go about to start a fight or provoke you for your reaction, most of them women. And most people has died mysteriously or disappeared without a trace because of this. Men has died trying to protect their ego. The best thing to do to any confrontation be it from a man or a woman is to walk away. Walking away is not weak, it's wisdom. That is what most men hasn't understand yet. I have seen a lady shoot a guy dead with a silencer gun in Benue state in the midst of their fight and she got away because people around all run for their dear lives. Wisdom will tell you to walk away but emotions will always tell you to fight, beat her, show her who the man is. It's your choice. Just like living or dying is also your choice. The world is changing and women from this part of the world has begin to carry weapon just like women in the western world. They can go to greater length for self defence. It's just a matter of who died first. Woman also have ego like men, so to all men who think you can beat women at any little provocation to show how strong your manhood is, the day you will meet such women you won't know what hit you. After all grave yard doesn't care about your humiliation or your ego.
