Congrats guys, I hope you have lots of fun in camp. After crying for days when I was posted to kwara state, I got to camp and had amazing cubicle mates and was a part of the #specialsquad and #FlagParty, and I totally forgot about the terrible living condition. After I had adjusted to being around thousands of strange people, camp started making sense.
Yes the living condition is quite bad, but you won't die from the poor state of it, just go to camp with an open mindset. Also make friends that are worthwhile. The friends you make in camp would go a long way to shape your stay in camp and perhaps the lga you're posted to. Also try your hardest to get posted to offa, ilorin south, west, east (that is if you're a social person and cannot stand the boredom of small undeveloped lgas) . All in all, a year passes by so quickly, so just go with the flow. Goodluck !

The problem with Nigerians is that we never want to accept the truth. Just because this is coming from a northerner doesn't make it an ethnic thing. What he said is absolutely true. I went to a public school too, and I can easily say I agree with him. Even at camp, the quality of English spoken was terrible (and I camped in a state where the northern population wasn't up to 5%) Even here on nairaland, we see it everyday. Speaking proper English doesn't make you intelligent or anything, but it's a pretty good place to start.

So please don't have this mentality of "its just northerners that can't speak English", it falls on every ethnic group.

Now I know guys just don't say this, so it actually happens had this friend he could switch girls for Africa, said after he hit it, everything just died. This brings me to one of my most embarrassing moments. So I was travelling home in a space bus, the AC was overworking and and the car was very quiet, in fact the atmosphere was just "bam".since I hardly slept the night before, I decided to catch up on the sleep I lost. There was this little boy, say about 8years beside me and his mother beside him. First time he hit me and I woke up, I thought it was a mistake or I just imagined it since I was sleeping. I slept back, just then I heard myself snore, and before I could wake up, the boy hit me again, when I opened my eyes, I felt everyone's eyes on me even the driver was looking at me from the rearview mirror
I had been snoring the whole time, disturbing the peace . Needless to say, I was very awake for the rest of the trip.
