DaddyGoo:I wouldn't take his tweets seriously. He knew that this would getting everybody asking questions, after his death. |
Maximus85:Lol, which coin you go buy like this? |
IdealHubby:Haha, don't mind him. Look at the shitcoins he's telling us to buy. |
na2016:Why don't the government ban the Naira too because it is used for scams and Ponzi schemes. Haven't Nigerians lost billions from Naira Ponzi schemes, too? The Naira is used to commit numerous atrocities. Why didn't the government ban it too? The government only banned crypto because they can't control it or trace it and they're planning to launch their own government-controlled digital currency, not because it is used for scams. |
kennethfranc:I was impressed until I saw Luno. |
My simple advice is, do your own research before investing in a coin. Avoid shit and dogcoins. They're are a lot of interesting projects out there you could invest in. If you invest in shit, pump and dump coins, you'll get rekt. It's been a wonderful crypto and DeFi journey for me. |
berbs:$50 a week right now, I no think say e dey possible. |
Kelvin581:You should try Binance. You'll see the real value of your money there as the balance showed on Luno is overstated. |
Theoarhics:Great! So are you saying that in the insurance companies you've worked with 80% of their staffs are in the marketing department? It's true that marketing seems to be the most advertised role for insurance companies and seems to be filled by recent graduates or people with low experience. I'm just saying that they're other departments. |
Theoarhics:You're talking about the marketing aspect of insurance, which is mostly applied to field marketers who go around, make calls, go online to look for customers that will buy an insurance policy. Insurance is very wide with different job descriptions. They're other departments in Insurance whose salary isn't based on commission and whose job description isn't marketing. Why do Nigerians just jump to the conclusion that insurance = commission-based salary. |
KingDash:It's a very risky venture and you could lose everything. If you're a crypto newbie, then this is not what you should be looking to start. Start normal crypto first then you can research about yield farming to know more. |
Organicist95:Anybody using still using Luno right loves being lied to or is probably a newbie. |
waleaimi:You're absolutely correct, bro. I think only advance users and people who really understands crypto should go into DeFi. It's such a risky venture and at the same time rewards and gain can be high. Right now, I'm suffering from massive impermanent loss as a result of the present market condition. I hope things would get better. |
Sysdatek:I'm a yield farmer and liquidity provider. The crypto is a place to make and lose money. |
SpongeBobSP:Sadly, all good things come to an end. This stuff really helped back then. It served it's purpose. I knew it wasn't going to last when they started using bots to transcribe, which led to them slashing earnings. I'm surprised some people are still doing Qa. It's pure slavery right now.. |
wirinet:One thing you should understand is they're different types blockchain network, like I explained previously. All cryptos don't run on the same blockchains. Blockchain were designed to be secured, but the question is are all blockchains secured? You need the to specific of what particular blockchain network you're talking about. These chains are secured by validators. The higher the number of validators the more secured the blockchain is. Ethereum blockchain is very secured as they're thousands of validators securing the network. An attacker that wants to attack the Ethereum blockchain would need to have a computer as powerful as 51% of the network. Do you know that the old Ethereum blockchain was hacked and millions was stolen? An upgrade was now made to the chain to make it more secured and the chain was broken into two. This is what they call the "hard fork" The old chain is now what they call Ethereum Classic. The new and more secured chain is the Ethereum blockchain we all know today. Here: https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/ethereum-hack-blockchain-fork-bitcoin-1.3719009 There are blockchains of only 200 validators and it would be easier for that network to be attacked. I also mentioned flash loan attack. You should read this: https://www.technologyreview.com/2019/02/19/239592/once-hailed-as-unhackable-blockchains-are-now-getting-hacked/ Even the US government don't have the skills or tools to hack Bitcoins, else they would have caught the criminals that blackmailed colonial pipelines and rendered the US without petrol for almost a week. Colonial pipelines had to pay over $4 million in bitcoins and the money was never recovered.Oh, you didn't hear that some of the money have been recovered by the US government from the Colonial Pipeline ransomware hackers? And this is not the first time the us government have recovered or seized stolen cryptocurrency funds. Read it up here: https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/07/politics/colonial-pipeline-ransomware-recovered/index.html

smokey12345:Simply buy ETH. DYOR. This is not a financial advice. |
Kubernetes:First, blockchain tecnology is different from traditional finance. If you understand DeFi, you'll know that its aim is to override and replace the traditional banking system. They're crypto ATMs where you don't need your bank or whatever to cash out fiat. Only thing is that it's not in Nigeria. Now, since government banned those crypto exchanges from facilitating fiat withdrawals and everybody moved to P2P, how would the government know who and who is sell or buying crypto? So, bringing in BVN, here in this context is just unnecessary. Since, direct interaction with banks and their services has been killed and you can no longer buy crypto with your card, how do the government know that that random bank transfer is payment for crypto or payment for goods? You get the point? So, using BVN here to track crypto transaction here is void. Now, to the Binance stuff, isn't it all still P2P? Binance doesn't pay you from their Nigerian account anymore. Individuals buy and sell to themselves. That Nigerian fiat balance in Binance has nothing to do with Nigerian banks. The money has already been deposited on Binance and if you tranfer or sell your NGN fiat balance, the transaction goes through Binance and not your Nigerian bank. The transaction goes immediately to the Binance wallet you transfered it to and the person pays you normal Naira. I hope you understand. |
PAWG:Yeah, yield farming is very risky. You can run into unimaginable loss. It's a very risky venture, at the same time can be profitable. APY can range from 1200% to 100%. The higher the APY, the higher the risk and chance of huge loss. Please, this is not a financial advice, lol!! DYOR. |
PAWG:No, it's not Binance. I'm farming with a decentralized exchange, Honeyswap. Although, I'm running into losses now, in long term, from my calculations, I'll be profitable. We all just got to be careful and do our research well. Sometimes buying and hodling is just the best. |
PAWG:Lol, you believed in something with no fundamentals. Well, it's pure FOMO. I think Shiba Inu just pumped real crazy a while ago. See me too, I went into yield farming and I'm getting f**ked right now. I made the mistake of providing liquidity with farm tokens, which always plummet. I provided liquidity on Honeyswap and staked the tokens I got to earn rewards. Right now, my asset has lost 50% of it's value and rewards are not enough to cover loss. Although, it's all impermanent lost sha. If the farm token returns to almost the value in which I invested it, the loss will disappear. |
PAWG:Sorry bro. The last man holding the of shitcoins will be definitely rekted. You probably got in when the hype was high. |
Oh, there's a crypto thread on Nairaland. I never knew. So, has anybody here played with DeFi and yield farming? Or you guys are just hodling the bags? |
wirinet:Well, it seems you've not heard of "flash loan attack" that has been used to steal millions of dollars from decentralized exchanges. BurgerSwap, which is a decentralized exchange on Binance smart chain network was rekted of millions of dollars last month through flash loan attack. Their liquidity pool was drained of the millions. This is just one of the many Dexs that have lost money through flash loan. When it comes to "Hacking" it doesn't have to be when you use brute force or something like that. They're lot of ways hacking can take place and they're different types of hacks. Should I tell you about Metamask, the popular wallet and chrome extension people use, where their website was cloned and people lost money by visiting the cloned website and inputting their seed phrase. The thing is, the whole world of crypto, blockchain and decentralized finance is relatively new and still needs a lot of improvement. Those who are into it now are regarded as the early adopters and need to tread with caution. Crypto is not hack-proof. Blockchain is just a word, and they're a lot of Blockchains out there. Some are very secured, while some have security issues. Now, do Nigerian government have the skills to hack or block a crypto wallet and retrieve funds? Nah, I don't think so. They must have beaten seed phrases and passwords out of those guys to retrieve funds. Cheers! |
Kubernetes:What are you talking about? The discussion here is blockchain tecnology and you're talking about BVN? What is the relationship between the two? Get knowledge!! |
GboyegaD:They're probably mining shitcoins, like PI or using telegram bots. A proper crypto like Bitcoin or Ethereum requires powerful GPUs for mining. |
Na so o, we forget each other. |
AutoChick4U:You really believe that the girl cannot walk up to the shop next to her house and buy pad for herself and her boyfriend has to do it? The OP didn't mention the rest of the things he brought and only mentioned pad just to make the guy look bad. If it was the guy that asks her to buy card or something else on her way, I'm sure she'll collect the money back. My is my money. Your money is our money; most naija girls way of thinking. This story is even fake AF, coming from this particular OP. |
Iamdbull:I hope you can afford the lifestyle. I hope you will run back to Ijebu in 5 months. |
CharisEleos:And you automatically know how to use a treadmill before you used it, right? |
Shellsploit:Who made the rule abeg? |
Prechy2836:Very correct, bro. That update is very impressive battery-wise and general performance. Perfect! That's why I said it's like the performance of the pre-installed Miui 10 that came with it. |
