Phones / Re: Xiaomi Vs Samsung Thread by Buzx: 2:35pm On Apr 24, 2021
popweezy:
can you place xiaomi over samsung in terms of smartphone tecnologies?? answer me.. If not, then I'm done with you

You're comparing the companies in general instead of their phones. Samsung is a very huge brand with ground breaking technologies and smartphone innovation. They make their own chipset, screen, camera and other stuff. It's obvious that they definitely have more innovation and technology than Xiaomi. Samsung is 85 years old and has been in the game for a very long time. Xiaomi is just 10 years old and has been able to compete and keep up with Samsung and other powerful brands. That is no small feat and they deserve whatever attention they're getting. In the nearest future, I'm sure Xiaomi will look towards producing their own chipset, screen and other stuff.

And I just want you to know that most of these things we call innovation are just recycled technology ( see Apple for more details) Samsung has a foldable phone, Xiaomi also does. Samsung is not the first brand to introduce waterproof devices and will definitely not be the last. You see LG, there are one of the most innovative phone companies out there, but their phone brands are dead today. Innovation is not enough to survive out there in the saturated market. You need sound marketing strategy and ways to make consumers itch to get their hands on your device to stay competitive, and Xiaomi has been able to do that.

Lastly, can we please stop all these unnecessary comparison and smartphone wars? The phone section is becoming irritating with all these fracas between phone brands. I'm a Samsung lover and I used most of their phones back then. I enjoyed using LG and HTC, too. Right now, I'm using a Xiaomi device, and they've got me by the balls with what they have to offer. My next device will probably be a OnePlus or a Pixel. Use any brand that appeals to you and let others hear word. Cheers!

I can't use a London used Samsung. What's the use of all power and performance with probably a bad battery? Go for a more recent Samsung.

From my own view, flagship has a set standard that phones have to meet to be called flagship. This standard has changed over the years. That's why a flagship of 2017 can be mid-range in 2021. Now to the topic, have Transsion produced any phone that meets the general flagship standard of 2021? Your answer is as good as mine. Have they produced phones with flagship specs? No!

Now, use this simple scenario to understand what I'm trying to say. Walk into any mobile outlet and ask the reps to bring out all the flagship phones they have that you want to see what options you have and pick one. (I'm assuming the reps knows what flagship means) The phones that will be shown to you are from those brands that actually have flagship devices that meets flagship standard.

I understand the point the OP is trying to make, but sadly, I don't regard any phone that Transsion has made to be flagship because they don't meet the general set standard for flagship device. Although it might meet their own standard or idea of flagship, but I'm talking about the industry standard. So what Transsion calls their flagship is just mid-range, using the industry standard.

The redmi 9t camera is not good at all for a 48mp camera. And the gcam usually crashes often and on.

If you are the camera type, go for the camon else the 9t is your answer.

Note: I have a 9t... Using it for 1 month now.

A friend of mine uses the 9t and he has a perfectly working Gcam. I'll ask him the version for you later.

Since I don't really know much about food I was referred to a Nairalander something pocochantant I contacted her severally she ignored me so I left her.
Met a woman who sells food She wanted to assist because I told her I will use that opportunity and advertise her restaurant. But as school open, I left the place I was staying So my business with the woman didn't go again.

I'm watching YouTube videos. Don't worry I'd be fine. Thanks for asking.

"Oh, noble queen, why do you fight?"

This steppenwolf guy really made me enjoy Zack's cut. Nobody was his match until man of steel came. The Amazons were beaten and battered like thieves; they were no match. I love every scene he was shown, including every of his conversations with Desaad. Sadly, Steppenwolf was underappreciated and not really valued. He tried to prove his worth. Ignominiously beaten by Superman, he deserved better than to die like that. Aquaman even had the audacity to stab him with his Trident after lazing around.

Batman taking is time to fight a parademon was funny. Noticed he didn't even near steppenwolf at all. I like how he respected himself. And the scene where he sat on the ground and rested on the police vehicle like who don tire for life after being hit by Superman was very funny.

You’re right though .. my opinion was on xiaomi was based on popularity .. atleast dem self devil u know is better then angel u no no

It's popularity on Nairaland is no fluke. There must be a reason why people are drawn to it. They don't do ads on TV, like Oppo or tecno, or you don't see their posters everywhere, no celebrity endorsement, yet they are becoming very popular in Nigeria. Quality speaks for itself. I've tried Xiaomi, Samsung, they're good. (I loved LG, but those ones are about to go off the mobile industry) I would like to try a OnePlus or a Pixel device next.

I would choose Infinix anyday

When i had my note 5, it had a good battery and was resourceful i even had 2 software updates on it. But when i swithced to S9, the battery is bad, not compliant with many chargers and i am yet to still get one software update on it. Plus Infinix is pocket friendly.

Quick question: Did you buy your S9 new? Probably a 3rd hand.

I’ll choose iPhone , Samsung, google pixel, Nokia and lg in that order over xiaomi and infinix..

But if I’m to choose between the two , sincerely I’ll go for infinix.. in as much the infinix can browse the internet and load my app faster that’s ll.. I no care camera or processor.. tbh, I’ve only seen xiaomi 4 times in my life.

One at the store , one from a lady’s that came for repair ( don’t know if they were able to), one from where I used to work and one for one igbo guy wey Dey sell phone case ..

Sometimes it baffles me how xiaomi is so so popular on nairaland.. my guy needed an android phone to support him iPhone last month .. I checked phone section here on nairaland and jugding by specs I recommend the redmi note 9 for him.. Walai he was like wetin be xiaomi? Lol

But if the xiaomi has amoled display then I’ll choose it over infinix .

I know it's your opinion, but this your opinion reeks of bias and prejudice. You'll pick an iPhone, Samsung, pixel over a Xiaomi device, fine; great taste. Those are worthy opponents.(Notice I didn't mention Nokia or Lg for obvious reasons.) And next you'll, pick an Infinix( most of their device lack basic stuff: FHD screen, screen protection, type C, software updates) over a Xiaomi device. No particular reason given. And you have only ever seen a Xiaomi phone 4 times. Illogical!

Conclusion: your opinion is impaired, contradictory, and one-sided. But, hey, it's "your opinion"

I didn't know about that shocked

No, not on dead battery. Just like power saver mode, if the battery gets to a point, the return home feature will probably be initiated; the user will be alerted about the low power and he can choose to recall the drone before the battery dies. Not all drones have this feature sha, esp cheap drones.

Kelz you are a super hero for this act...you deserve some accolades.

How far(distance) can a drone travel? I'm curious..

Drones have different specification depending on the price just like smart phones. High-end drones can travel up to 2.5 to 4 miles away from the controller. Mid-range drone 0.5 to 1.5 miles. And toy drones have very short range away from the controller; travel too far and you'll lose signal.

You guys should stop this blanket political correctness against all Nigerians and learn to call a spade a spade.

Specifically call out those guilty of the part in bold above for this behaviour here, i.e Igbos, and stop condemning others who tried to do what you said.

The two comments below were the first to set this thread on an ethnocentric path.

The parts in bold below are incendiary and condemnable so have the balls to condemn directly and stop tarnishing all with the ethnocentric brush mainly Igbos deserve to be painted with.

If you check my comments, you'll see where I condemned the first guy you quoted. Regardless of the tribe, they're hundreds of those guys doing this stuff on Nairaland and this on thread. You don't expect one to quote all of them.

If you quote them all, it will result in an endless circle of argument and the thread will be derailed. It's really annoying when you come to a thread to have a decent conversation about the topic only for those bigots to hijack it.

Why can't we just talk about the issues these people raised and leave tribe out of this. Out there, they don't care what part of Nigeria you come from. You're all Nigerians to them. The earlier you people of Nairaland understand this, the better.
