Specifically call out those guilty of the part in bold above for this behaviour here, i.e Igbos, and stop condemning others who tried to do what you said.

The two comments below were the first to set this thread on an ethnocentric path.

The parts in bold below are incendiary and condemnable so have the balls to condemn directly and stop tarnishing all with the ethnocentric brush mainly Igbos deserve to be painted with.

If you check my comments, you'll see where I condemned the first guy you quoted. Regardless of the tribe, they're hundreds of those guys doing this stuff on Nairaland and this on thread. You don't expect one to quote all of them.

If you quote them all, it will result in an endless circle of argument and the thread will be derailed. It's really annoying when you come to a thread to have a decent conversation about the topic only for those bigots to hijack it.

Why can't we just talk about the issues these people raised and leave tribe out of this. Out there, they don't care what part of Nigeria you come from. You're all Nigerians to them. The earlier you people of Nairaland understand this, the better.

I believe these are technical terms, and they do not change most times. They remain the same in most languages, but they might be tweaked a little bit.

I have personal claim to this, but let me give you a biblical one first. Remember the story of Balaam in the Bible, where his Donkey saw an Angel and refused to move further. I think animals in general have the ability to see things, because they're generally innocent and can't make meaning of the things they see.

I've seen dogs suddenly run towards a particular spot, like it saw something, and barking continuously at that particular empty spot, running around in rage and looking fiercely at that particular spot. I saw noting, but I'm sure the dog had seen something very unusual. It couldn't have been snakes or rats, as this particular spot was just empty. It was as if the dog was looking at something.

It could be one of these things you mentioned. They probably left to explore other parts of the world. Back then, they didn't need visa to travel, so they could be massive migration away from a particular place in search of better life, food, and water.
