Christianity Etc7 Common Reasons For Why People Believe In A God by bytemeister(op): 4:44pm On Apr 30, 2016
1. EVERYBODY ELSE DOES.

This has struck me as the most shocking one. A lot of people, in
particular teenagers, have told me that they believe in God simply
because everybody else around them does. It seems to them that most
of their family and friends also believe in God so why shouldn 't they?
They reason "how can everybody be wrong?" Another side reason to this
is the belief that if you are baptised/initiated into your religion, you
must then be a believer.
I never really understood this reasoning because when I think about
something, I don't immediately go to another source of information or
think about who believes what, I think about the situation as I know it,
with the facts that I know, and try to make a conclusion from them. It
is when I feel like I don't know enough about something that I go and
find a source of information. I would never believe anything simply
because somebody told me it was true . It has to make sense too. Why
do some people skip this process altogether and just blindly follow what
everyone else believes?
Of course, linked in with this point is that it is often found that parents
teach their children their religion and from a young age, particular
beliefs are ingrained into their children, and are often reinforced by their
community. As many of the readers will know, it is hard to stop
accepting something that you believed to be true all of your life, and so
it can be attributed to this phenomenon that people stay believing in
God after their teenage years. Naturally then , it can be said that a lot of
people believe in God on the false reason of simply being born with
parents who would tell them to do so.

2. IF I DON'T, I'LL BURN IN HELL.

When religious people tell me "If I'm wrong, I have nothing to lose, if
you're wrong, you have everything to lose" they mean that If I don't
believe in God, I will burn in hell (or otherwise be punished), and that's
why I should believe in God.
But as Richard Dawkin's points out "we are all atheists, some of us just
have taken it one God further." What he means by that is: people who
believe in God, don't believe in so many other Gods by doing so. If you
are a Christian for example, you believe in the Christian God. You are an
atheist in respect to all of the others, such as the Jewish God and the
Islamic God. So if the Christian is wrong, and Judaism is the true
religion, then the Christian will also be punished eternally, just like the
atheist.
Therefore, If anyone is wrong about their beliefs, they will end up
burning in hell or the equivalent punishment of the true religion.
So I don't really see how not believing in God puts you at any more risk
of hell or punishment than believing in him. Other religions also promise
eternal punishment for not believing in their God.
(Note : Although I took the example of Christianity, it is in fact true of
some divisions of religion to promise punishment for those too 'ignorant'
to find the real division of that religion, not just the religion itself. I.E
Some believe that people who fall outside of their Church cannot go to
heaven. For example, Catholics believe that true protestants cannot go
to heaven because they are outside of the church - sourced)

3. GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO ME.

I have heard a lot of "I pray to the almighty God and he rewards me" and
"I am happy in life because of God" as an answer to why they believe in
God. This includes very lucky or "miraculous" events in people's lives .
But how can you know that your happiness is a result of God? After all,
there are atheists who are perfectly happy in their lives , good things
happen, without prayer or belief. It's of course a great thing that people
are getting good things in their lives, but I don't think attributing it to
something higher than us is a logical conclusion to make from them.
Another point against this is for all of the people who pray, and get
nothing. Or people with faith who end up with terrible luck and
misfortune. If there was a God that was capable of interfering with out
day to day life, then why does he do so for some and not for others?
Arguing that "we do not understand God's motives" to me seems like
giving up on argument altogether.

4. The Bible/Qu'ran/Torah/Other Religious Texts are very old.

A lot of people argue that because the text that their religion is based
on is very old, it somehow makes it more believable than if it wasn't. I
don't understand this logic because when it comes to all other
knowledge: cars, medicine and laws for example, being antiquated
works against those things. This is based on the idea that what was
said/made in the past may not have been the most true and useful for
our society in which we live now. Why is this view not applied to
antiquated texts whose real authors can only be guessed at?
Another point to note is that there have been many holes and
inconsistencies found in these ancient texts which point to the idea
that they were written for a human purpose (to control the masses) and
not by a divine entity who would supposedly have gotten everything
right in his texts. If taken literally, a lot of the events in ancient texts
seem to greatly contradict modern day science (creation, walking on
water, etc.)

5. I CAN FEEL GOD INSIDE OF ME.

This is the most understandable point for me as sometimes it feels like
there is more to being a human than just being an animal who eats,
sleeps and reproduces. This may be why so many different religions
have been made in the past. It could be a natural urge for us to find
something to admire as our authority figure , something larger than us.
But I fail to see how this feeling of spirituality, that there is something
bigger than us, can definitely mean that it is a God who makes us feel
that way. Is this feeling telling people "I am God, read the Bible/
Qu'ran/Torah and follow it's guidelines?". Why does this feeling mean
that we have to go to a particular place and read a particular text and
then lead a particular life necessarily .
So I don't understand how people can say things like "I just know it's
God" when if they didn't know religions existed, and words like "god"
and "bible", they would not have been able to follow the guidelines of
their religion. They would have still perhaps felt the "presence of God"
but to me it seems unlikely that they would go to church every sunday
and forbid gay marriage, or not eat particular animals, or get circumcised
by the urge of the feeling inside of them.
Of course, if you feel this spirituality and decide to call it God, then this
point does not really apply . But I would argue that what you are calling
God is not "God" by standards of religion and so you've just made up a
new name for spirituality or feeling inside of you.

6. THE GOD OF GAPS.

Another false reason for believing in a God could be said to be the
argument that "since science cannot answer A, then God must be real,
since with his existence we can answer A". I don't really understand
this, because by using God as an answer to fill a gap of knowledge, you
are only opening up even more questions. How did God come about?
What shaped his personality (if you believe he has one)? Why is there
pain on Earth? Why doesn't prayer work? etc.
I could see how gaps in science might make you agnostic, since there
hasn't been conclusive proof of any cosmology as of yet but I personally
don't see how using God to fill in gaps works as an argument.
It seems to me like you're filling a gap with a hole.
Also to note is that in a lot of the 'gaps' there is evidence for what the
gaps might be, and evidence for the truth of the theory. It's just not
absolutely conclusive.

7. HARDSHIPS

I am unsure about the naming for this point and so am very open for
suggestions, but as for the point, I am. Thanks to @Jenubouka and the
ever useful comments section for pointing out that a lot of people
become religious in jail.
I believe in any situations of hardships (disabilities, diseases, financial
trouble, loneliness), we naturally look for something to lean on, some
form of support or comfort. I think because of the availability of texts
such as the Bible, many people seek solace in Christianity in particular
when they are experiencing hardships. I must stress that I think what
religion does in these cases serves a positive role overall, because it
teaches some fundamental morals such as killing and stealing is wrong,
and loving and caring is right. However, I do not see the reasoning
behind believing in something only because you want to feel comfort in
something, it seems like using religion and belief for your own benefit,
which has little to do with truth.
This reason may be considered as the reason for the positive correlation
between poorer, less developed countries and higher religious numbers.
As living standards increase, the need for a higher power decreases.
Although religions such as Islam and Christianity are growing in terms
of population and % of the world population adhering, these increases
are only seen in poorer countries such as Nigeria (accounting for most of
the Christian growth). In the developed countries where living
standards are high, religious numbers are rapidly decreasing with 9
countries said to see the extinction of religion entirely in the near
future.

All in all, I think that these 7 reasons are understandable, but they
should be exposed and addressed.

I had a difficult time trying to sleeping last night, which could be as a result of the clutch moment I had yesterday on the basketball court after taking the last second shot that took my team to the finals. But on the other hand, I've been having some random religious thoughts which I can't find a logical answer to. ‎

I'm a muslim by birth, but grew up the Christian way, going to church on Sundays and midweek services on weekdays, it was fun but it just wasn't my thing, the concept of trinity just wasn't making sense to me.
So I decided to try Islam, cos dad was a muslim so I had it easy. I was enthusiastic about it, learning how to read the Quran in a short space of time was a tremendous feat which I admire myself about anytime I read, my mum who is a staunch christian and her church members graced my Quranic graduation then.

I've had experience of the two leading religion in the world today and it's quite fascinating to contribute to discussions that cuts across the fabric of both religion. One thing I've learned so far is they both have a lot in common and quite a number of differences.

One of my favourite character in both holy books is Noah, the story of the ark is one I enjoyed reading especially at sunday school. As we know, Noah was a prophet in both books and he preached to his people to serve One God, which his people decline and they were perished in the flood!.

it was narrated that the whole earth was flooded and it was only Noah and his family that was saved. Studying the narration closely, he only preached to the people around him, maybe to some neighbouring towns inclusive, but he certainly didn't cover the entire surface of the earth, which I deduce from the narration.

My question goes thus: isn't it unfair that God destroyed people that didn't even hear Noah's call to salvation based on the fact that he couldn't have covered the whole nook and cranny of this entire planet. Given the fact that there is no broadcast system to possible reach the whole human populace.

My deduction it, it wasn't a global flood. it could have possibly been a local flood which doesn't extend to the extreme of the entire planet.

The second thought is: in both holy books, the prophets are chosen from a specific race, and not from random selection, Isreal and Saudi as the case may be, with the isrealis taking most of the credit. The criteria for choosing prophets from my basic understanding is that, God raise one person to correct his people when they are going astray. ‎
Of all the thousands of prophets sent to this world, None is of African,American,Indian, or Chinese descent.  The closest an African could get is Bilal, who was the first man to call the adhan (call to prayer), and anytime he's been referenced, he's always referred to as a "slave".
Is it that we Africans aren't holy enough or we are not in God's radar when he's sending prophets to the world, because Africa as a continent would have been so primitive and idolatrous  based on our history. So there is a good reason to have atleast one prophet of African descent.

Africa today has the highest number of men of God which is quite ironic. ‎

The third thought goes thus: Islam claims to have a spirit of brotherhood, every man is equal in the sight of Allah, so we all have equal right.
The common denominator among all muslims is the Kaa'ba, irrespective of your ethnic or racial difference. i.e, all muslims have equal right to the kaa'ba.
From my research, on the issue of muadhin,  Several families share these duties including Mulla, Shaker, Rayes, Al-Abbas, Hadrawi, Basnawi, Khouj, Marouf and Faydah. Some of these families held this position for hundreds of years; for example, the al-Abbas. (source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masjid_al-Haram)
Why is it a family thing? Can't a non-arab, black, Chinese, American, Australian be appointed a muadhin,s‎ame goes for the imams.

My Proposition: The next chief Imam of Masjid-al-Haram – the largest mosque of world that surrounds and manages Kabaa area – would be a non-Arab. And the team of Imams would have a proportionate representation of all ethnic groups.Till this happens, non-arab muslims should boycott and condemn Saudi Arabia government and call for ban on Hajj to oppose racism. After all, when EQUALITY – the much touted foundation of Islam – is mocked, rest of the rituals become mere jokes.(So far not one single Imam in history of Mecca mosque has been non-Arab. Shame on this blatant racial discrimination in a location that is sacred for entire Muslim Ummah.): ‎

The prophet said, anyone that propagates tribalism isn't one of us, (so I heard from a guy I had a discussion with). I'm not a racist, neither am I tribalistic. I believe in equality and justice. Because the kaa'ba is at the arab's backyard, doesnt mean they should control it's entire affairs. We all have equal right to it.
I think the selection should be based on knowledge and it should be distributed.

I demand that my pride be restored. I am and want to remain a proud Muslim. But I also want to be a proud Nigerian, proud Indian, a proud Pakistani, a proud African. And above all a proud human being. Religion that comes with strings of slavery is not a religion, but a farce.
I love Islam. I live for Islam and can die for it. But definitely not at the expense of dignity as a human. I refuse to be treated as a slave anymore. Liberty is my first and foremost birthright that no ideology can dupe me to reliquish.

O'Allah! Forgive me if I am wrong. But it were You who taught me that I have the right to smile and seek happiness simply because I am a human. You taught me even as a baby that all human beings deserve equal treatment regardless of race, gender or color. This was the first lesson you taught me even before I came to know that I am Muslim and he is Hindu, Christian, Jew, whatever. All other lessons were taught by humans. But this smile and equality was taught directly by You. I can leave everything else, but not this divine revelation of Yours.‎

I'm a muslim and these are my random thoughts, contributions and explanations would be appreciated to clarify things, we are all in the learning process.
If you are going to attack my personality or threaten me with hell, you can as well take up a debate with me, every belief must come under scrutiny, that's my stance

I'm going to the court for the finals.
Wish me luck smiley

Christianity EtcRe: Sango, Thor And Zeus....same Gods, Different Cultures by bytemeister(op): 1:26pm On Apr 01, 2016
johnydon22:
According to Hellenistic theology, the God Zeus himself was the king of the gods and a father to men, Thor is just a son of Odin and Sango if i am correct was once human before he transcended into deityhood.

Only Zeus holds the title of a Creator father figure out of these deities ... So the three cannot be the same.

they may represent anthropomorphically the same natural phenomenon which is lightening but cultural propagation and copy has led to personification of distinct natural manifestations in many cultures.

Yes they might be the personification of the same phenomenon by distinct culture but with the characteristics heaped on them, they cannot be said to be the same deity.

And OP where is Our Igbo God of thunder amadioha ? undecided
Boss I know little about Amadioha plus I have no idea what he looks like....BTW What am trynna point out is that the three are known to wield lightening hence the similarities between them
Christianity EtcSango, Thor And Zeus....same Gods, Different Cultures by bytemeister(op): 12:26pm On Apr 01, 2016
They say lightning never strikes the same place twice (tell that to Roy Sullivan ) but it definitely roams the Earth, and in days gone must have generated quite some interest with our ancestors. Now, if you were to ask any youngster, who is up to date with movies and comics, who the god of thunder is, the answer will be probably Thor , son of Odin. That is the Norse/Scandinavian god of thunder and lightning. Yet, unless he or she is well read in ancient mythology, he/she will probably be ignorant about the other gods of thunder and lightning. One other popular Western thunder wielding god is good ol’ Zeus, from Greek mythology. Right here in West Africa, we have Sango, the Yoruba god of thunder and lightning. For some reason, they all seem to have a temper. There are a number of thunder gods the world over, I could not possibly list them all here. Now this may seem like a coincidence and a long shot so…let us delve deeper, shall we? In every society, there are rebels and in the spirit realm, this appears to be the same. For some reason gods (like humans) rebel against authority. If they are lucky and it succeeds, they become heroes ( Zeus, Poseidon and Hades ) but if it does not, you end up like these guys: Lucifer, Babalu Aye and Atlas. Classic case of history is written by the victor. I believe we all know the creation story (according to Judaism, Christianity and Islam) and how Lucifer (then an angel) tried to rebel against God but was unsuccessful and was cast down from heaven with his cronies. According to the holy books of those religions, he was forced to take up residence in Hell, which is supposedly underground with fire and brimstone and await judgement day. He spends his time trying to lead mankind to sin so that he has more people to spend eternity in hell with (He also reminds me strongly of Hades, the Greek god of the underworld). According to Yoruba mythology, Babalu Aye is the god the Earth and strongly associated with infectious disease including, interestingly AIDS (I wonder when that cropped up) and healing. Legend has it that, he once challenged the Yoruba Supreme Deity, Olòrún , lost and was made to carry the weight of the Earth as punishment. Which brings us to this guy, Atlas. In Atlas’ case, he was part of the group that was rebelled against (see: the overthrow of Cronus ). It does not matter though, his group lost and he being a very strong fighter was also made to carry the Earth. (I’m thinking aloud here but, if there are supposedly two spiritual beings (Atlas is a Titan), carrying the Earth, isn’t the weight reduced somewhat?) Mankind, it seems can’t seem to find their way to the underworld when they die so there are a number of guides (or just one) who are/is there to assist them on their journey. They/He/She/It is/are (I’ll use ‘they’ from now on) known as psycho-pomps . A few of the most common ones are the Grim Reaper, the Angel of Death, Anubis, Hermes and Azrael. These beings (either collectively or individually) guide the recently deceased towards the white light. The list goes on, but with all these similarities between the various gods of various cultures at different times (too many variants), there could be a link somewhere…..

Science/TechnologyWhy We Can't Feel Earth’s Spin by bytemeister(op):
Hi guys, I won't go about making this a long epistle, I'll make it as short as possible.
Earth spins on its axis once in every 24-hour day. At
Earth’s equator, the speed of Earth’s spin is about
1,000 miles per hour (1,600 kph). The day-night has
carried you around in a grand circle under the stars
every day of your life, and yet you don’t feel Earth
spinning. Why not? It’s because you and everything
else – including Earth’s oceans and atmosphere –
are spinning along with the Earth at the same
constant speed.
Think about riding in a car or flying in a plane. As
long as the ride is going smoothly, you can almost
convince yourself you’re not moving. A jumbo jet
flies at about 500 miles per hour (about 800 km per
hour), or about half as fast as the Earth spins at its
equator. But, while you’re riding on that jet, if you
close your eyes, you don’t feel like you’re moving at
all. And when the flight attendant comes by and
pours coffee into your cup, the coffee doesn’t fly to
the back of the plane. That’s because the coffee, the
cup and you are all moving at the same rate as the
plane.
Now think about what would happen if the car or
plane wasn’t moving at a constant rate, but instead
speeding up and slowing down. Then, when the
flight attendant poured your coffee … look out!

If you’re drinking coffee in a steadily moving
car or airplane, no problem. But if the car or
plane speeds up or slows down, your coffee
sloshes and maybe spills. Likewise, as long as
Earth spins steadily, we can’t feel it move.
Earth is moving at a fixed rate, and we’re
all moving along with it, and that’s why we don’t
feel Earth’s spin. If Earth’s spin were suddenly to
speed up or slow down, you would definitely feel it.

The constant spin of the Earth had our ancestors
pretty confused about the true nature of the
cosmos. They noticed that the stars, and the sun
and the moon, all appeared to move above the
Earth. Because they couldn’t feel Earth move, they
logically interpreted this observation to mean that
Earth was stationary and “the heavens” moved
above us.
With the notable exception of the early Greek
scientist Aristarchus, who first proposed a
heliocentric (sun-centered) model of the universe
hundreds of years B.C.E., the world’s great thinkers
upheld the geocentric (Earth-centered) idea of the

cosmos for many centuries.
It wasn’t until the 16th Century that the
heliocentric model of Copernicus began to be
discussed and understood. While not without
errors, Copernicus’ model eventually convinced the
world that Earth spun on its axis beneath the stars
… and also moved in orbit around the sun.

BOTTOM LINE: Why don’t we feel Earth rotating, or
spinning, on its axis? It’s because Earth spins
steadily – and moves at a constant rate in orbit
around the sun – carrying you as a passenger right
along with it.

Christianity EtcThe Story Of God by bytemeister(op): 10:11pm On Mar 18, 2016
God had no beginning. He was always there. He is
maximally intelligent. We don't exactly know what
this means but let's say his IQ is a few billion
compared to our average IQ of 100.
And he was alone. Definitely. We are told he is the
ONLY real god--all the others are human inventions.
So he had no friends, no wives, no one to talk to,
nothing to do, no TV, no nothing. He didn't even have
day and night. As far as we know, he spent infinity in
the dark and terrible cold all alone. But he must have
been happy, because he is perfect.
At some point he tired of being alone and decided to
make some friends to love. He made an unimaginably
huge universe and then made trillions of solar
systems and in one he placed a tiny (and rather
dangerous) planet for his friends to live on. He
looked at his creation and thought it was good.
With preparations done, he created his new friends.
Now, you might think he would have made them as
intelligent as himself. That would have allowed for
interesting late night conversations. He could even
play games with them and not always win. But he
didn't. He made his friends pitifully weak; very, very
tiny, belligerent, argumentative and very, very, very
stupid (compared to himself).
Well, they say God works in mysterious ways but this
was like a lonely human being making bacteria for
company. Unsurprisingly, it didn't work out too well.
He was careful to provide each human with a
dedicated comms channel, so he could talk to each
one directly. Yet, still many of them didn't love him
back, some didn't even believe he existed! He
wanted them to follow his rules of behaviour but
most of them ignored him. They even invented their
own gods, and some actually masturbated! (He
should have made their arms shorter!)
Finally, he was so exasperated with his friends that
he decided to kill them all. What else could he do?
He truly loved them but they ignored him. He just left
one family alive whom he thought would behave
better. I suppose we could call this supernatural
selection!
Well, to cut a long story short, it still didn't work out.
Humans continued to do their own thing; some of
them pretended to love him, some of them loved
other gods and hardly any of them would stone their
unruly sons to death.
God was at his wits end. So he thought and he
thought (with an IQ of several billion, that's a heck of
a lot of thought) and came up with his master plan.
He would come to Earth as a human and have the
locals kill him as a sacrifice to himself. Then he
would be able to forgive all past, present and future
human sin; obviously. What could possibly go wrong?
Of course, it is possible that this story is not true. We
can either believe that the immensely powerful being
with a several billion IQ did all this, or we can believe
the whole story was invented by tiny, tiny beings who
are very, very, very stupid (compared to God).
I don't know. What do you think?

Well, the Bible is True. True in history,& True in reality. It's from the Bible we learn that 500 years Before Christ, Ethiopia already existed as a nation among others. India was also mentioned.
Europeans were then comparatively primitive. After Christ, the Bible was introduced to Europeans, & they became civilised, educated, & began to so develop as to overtake both India, Ethiopia, & even Babylon, one of the world powers BC.
It therefore flows logically that if Africans obey the Bible as the Europeans did, Africans can also develop likewise.
According to your proofs of truthfulness of the bible, it's ok to say Superman exists or existed since KANSAS City in U.S.A was mentioned or Spiderman cause he is said to be from New York and newyork exists in reality after all

CelebritiesRe: DNA Confirms Hakeem From ‘empire’ Is Jay-z’s Son by bytemeister(m): 7:21am On Jan 21, 2016
In as much as the stipulated facts seem convincingly real, none of it is in fact real except for the fact the two key names Bryshere Y.Gray and Jay Z. There was no DNA test, Jay-Z never said that Hakeem was his real son, and the story about Jay- Z having a fling with a woman named “Donut” is apocryphal. Jay-z definitely has 99 problems and a son ain’t one.

Nairaland GeneralThis Piece Made My Day by bytemeister(op): 2:54pm On Dec 22, 2015
I stumbled on this on Facebook and I thought it'd be great sharing it with you guys...

Two important management lessons I learnt from a
500 Naira note.1. It happened some time ago but .
I was in an audience listening to a motivational
speaker. The speaker got out his wallet & pulled
out a 500 Naira note. Holding it up, he asked,
"Who wants this 500 naira note?"Lots of hands
went up. Including mine. A slow chorus began to
build as people beganto shout "Me!" "Me!" I began
to wonder who the lucky one would be who the
speaker would choose. And I also secretly
wondered(and I am sure others did too ) why he
would simply give away 500 naira. Even as the
shouts of "I want it" grew louder, I noticed a young
woman running down the aisle. She ran up onto
the stage, went up to the speaker, and grabbed the
five 500 naira note from his hand. "Well done,
young lady,"said the speaker into the microphone.
The speaker simply say "Most of us just sit and
wait for good things to happen. That's of nouse.
You've got to make things happen. Make a move"
'Simply thinking about doing something is of no
use and not gud enough'. Our lives are like that.
We all see opportunities around us. We all want
the good things. But the problem is we don't take
action. We all want the 500 naira noteson offer.
But we don't make the move. We look at it
longingly. Get up, and do something about it. Don't
worry about whatother people might think.Take
action.2. later, the speaker got another 500 naira
note and held it up for all to see, I thought I knew
what's up. But he just asked a simple question.
"How much is this worth?" "Five Hundred naira!"
the crowd yelled in unison."Right," said the
speaker. He then took the note and crumpled it
into a ball and asked"How much is it worth now?"
"Five Hundred naira!" screamed the audience. He
then threw the note on the ground, stamped all
over it and picked up the note and asked one more
time: "And how much is it worth now?" "Five
Hundred naira!" was the response. "I want you to
remember this," said the speaker. "Just because
someone crumples it, or stamps on it, the value of
the note does not diminish. We should all be like
the 500 naira note. In our lives, there will be times
when we feel crushed, stamped over, beaten. But
never let your self-worth diminish. Just because
someonechooses to crush you, that doesn't
change your worth one bit!Don't allow your self-
worth to diminish because someone says
something nasty ordoes something dirty to
you."Never let your self-worth diminish...

Christianity EtcRe: Why Are Atheist Called Bad People? by bytemeister(m): 12:09am On Dec 10, 2015
johnydon22:
Well sin is a religious construct that bears no weight on the moral tilt of an action..
So i don't care what your religion considers sin, what is right supersedes every arrogant restriction

Yes the one that drowns everything because they didn't work the way it planned..
i can see what righteousness means and i can tell you it is not for me

The part of the brain we refer to as heart in terms of volition is the part in charge of emotions.

Our emotions should never be a determinant to truthful deductions. .

we should judge ourselves by the sincerity of our questions and the depth of our answer and our ability to agree with what is true rather than what feels good or what we so bad want to be true

I don't need the bible to give my idea of these concepts. I am far more developed than the people who wrote the bible or any other primitive religious book.

Mind: The totality of the volition of a conscious entity

Heart and emotions in this context is no different from the other like i explained above.

Unless you mean the organ that pumps your blood.. lol...
Gbam! Lols killed it as usual
