The EPL has been able to produce so many great players like Henry, Ruud, Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry etc. English League produced the bulk of the players at Germany 2006
uhmm, really? u got stats? cos i did notice a lot of italian based players at the world cup.

hucarson:
and its so amusing to know that most players are guaranteed a national team shirt as long as they play for any team in the Premiership. grin
same with spain and italy.

hucarson:
The press and the marketing are also major factors that play immense role at the EPL making it the most exciting league in the world.
Mourinho,Ferguson and Wenger's comical attitudes also makes the league exciting. They make the whole league look like a soap opera and one is always on his toes to see what these bunch of over-grown babies has to say with their whines.
you obviously dont follow other leagues.

um, actually last night on CNN they said ATI leads the grafix chipset mart for laptops.
unless that's very recent,

as of 2005

Neoteny:
crytek and far cry. bliss! man that cliffhanger demo drove me stark raving mad. can't wait to hear what all the grfx bashing lot got to say when CryTek's "machinima" hits mainstream. ha!
texazzpete:
all i'm waiting for is for Epic to release Unreal Tournament 2007. I just hope my laptop can render Unreal Engine 3 at at least 1024 x 768 and most of the effects still in place.
it's unreal vs crytek now. . . john carmack do something.
and yes, silent hill was creepy but i never got to finishing it. my damn memory card kept bleeping me up. always restarting from scratch. a good game nonetheless.

dakmanzero:
integrated chipsets are only a bad thing when u act like an asshole like intel; and don't include expansion slots. However pci express is not a dedicated video expansion, so they wont do that this time around, meaning the igfx will actually be a good thing (more pcs capable of playing games AT ALL even at reduced specs.)

it will be good for LAN parties, because on a serious LAN we always turn off ALL the graphics anyway!!!!!
not sure what u mean but PCI Express is just like the AGP but even better thanks to SLI (and Quad-SLI) support. it's a PCI-express port that i use. you may not be a graphics fan but in the end stunning visuals still rule. with IGPs, PC games will always fall behind consoles. but with vista coming out soon, i guess everyone will have to buy a dedicated graphics card.

texazzpete:
didn't dig the whole demons-shrieking thingy in doom3. Monsters popping out at u from different corners etc.
just downloaded the FEAR demo. man, the AI there is so tight. Gets a bit tired seeign guys jumping through windows sha.

i'm having to do a rethink. usually i remap my movement/strafe buttons to the directional arows on the KB, but it makes it harder to activate bullet time/crouch/jump moves in many FPS, so i'm going to try using WASD. at least i can then fight and hit the left Ctrl and Shift buttons easily. The way i was playing before, i was more of run and gun than stealth, butnow more games are coming out with badder Ai so your character doesnt seem so overpowered. I'v edied in FEAR and far Cry so many times,
you don't use WASD?!!!!

yeah, i've got the full FEAR game. haven't had much time playing it though but i've gone a bit far anyway. yeah the AI is really cool. i read somewhere about it and the technology behind the AI is so simple, it's unbeliveable. Ghost Recon has taken my heart now even though my PC is struggling with it.

bad bad OOP grin. there's no need to inherit if you're only modifying a member variable. only inherit if you're adding functionality.

gizmondo was run by swedish fraudsters. karma killed it. anybody tried the linux handheld, GP2X? nice piece of hardware but it has no hardware-supported 3D renderer, bah. if i don't find a PSP 1.5, i'll have to cop this. retro games on the move. yes!

texazzpete:
Yep. its official AMD has bought/merged with ATI.
Wonder how this plays out. So this could mean intel could insist their chipsets are only coupled with Non-ati stuff or what?
don't know if that was a wise move, i mean, both companies haven't been able to establish dominance in each of their respective fields. nvidia is still *slightly* inthe lead and intel still is inthe lead over AMD.
as far as i know, seems like intel's dealing with AMD by making new, powerful chips as cheap as AMDs latest. Thus AMD can't play that cheap card again.
I'm just fed up with all the new changes sha. I bought an Intel Core Duo laptop just recently and now the idiots have just released Core 2 Duo. Guess which one is more powerful  cry

Guess i'll wait until DX10 cards hit next yr before i build my killer desktop  cool
what i think is that AMD is try to compete with intel for the graphics market. intel dominates (yes, intel, not ATI, not nVIDIA) the graphics processor market largely due to their success with integrated graphics processors. these processors are what u commonly find in laptops (eg. intel gma 980). they are usually bundled with lots of specs supporting hardware T&L, pixel and vertex shader 3.0 etc. they seem impressive on paper but the truth is that they suck big time. ATI and nVIDIA also released some IGPs in the past but intel always win.

now AMD want to try and gain some part of the IGP market. this is bad news for next-gen games because the average guy always goes for IGPs and only the hardcore gamer spends cash on discrete GPUs.
game developers are leaning towards next-gen graphics but now they'll have to support the masses with the low-end IGPs to stay in business. this could result in games with low-end graphics in the future. so much for all the work the developers might have been putting into their next-gen engine.

reminds me. . . has anyone see crytek's engine. . . damn!

unfortunately there is no standard C++ certification (not that i know of). and it'll be hard to have one similar to what java has since C++ isn't as tightly coupled as Java is (know what i mean? undecided in terms of libs and all)

C++ has so many "gotchas" here and there and with the boost libraries trying to get into the standard C++. . . it's all just chaotic.

waaah! am i making any sense? Bleep it!

it's your portfolio and sample source that you have to depend on.

ladex142:
Advantages of Console game:

2. The ease of use of a console game is better than that of PC game because of the hazard of the keyboard and mice.
5. Console games tend to have a relatively low learning curve. You might need fast thumbs, but you certainly won't need to spend hours in a "tutorial" trying to learn how to operate basic game functions.
not neccessarily true for the wii.

"Arena Magazine":
* "After a hard day of work/surfing the internet, a relaxing blast on a shoot 'em up or a decent sports sim can be cathartic, with the Wii, vegging out is no longer an option."
* "Motion-sensing games don't work on small TVs – you need the on-screen gaming area to be as large as possible to properly read your body's graceful movements."
* "Many living rooms hardly have the space for a regular console, let alone one where up to four people might have to stand and wildly swing their arms about."
a wide screen TV is a must eh? so the revolution was to bring more rich folks into gaming. who's gonna start the revolution to bring more population from the 3rd world into gaming? ah. . . pirates.

Italy /C. Republic never had a chance of winnin the title.
well guess what? Italy won.

Bandele:
Italy does'nt have world class players.
Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Buffon, Nesta, Totti, Gattuso, Pirlo, . . . . Do you watch football at all?

Bandele:
Italy did'nt beat a brazil
neither did Germany, Argentina, Portugal, Holland, etc,
If france had won their group, maybe italy would have met brazil in the finals.

Bandele:
Italy could'nt score with france down to 10 players plus Zidane,Henry,Veira off the field.
with how many minutes to go?. . . without totti, gilardino, nesta on the pitch . .

Bandele:
Italy are just lucky Trezeguet missed the penalty.
well that's football. luck counts!

Bandele:
No sane person can say Italy dominated/controlled the final.
nobody said that so i guess we are all sane.

Kurunmi:
Just to answer the person that said Italy had a dubious penalty against Australia in the second round, if that is a yard stick then France is far worse cause they had more lucky breaks on bad ref decisions.

The free kick that took France ahead of Spain in the second round was from Henry diving beside Puyol, the penalty that knocked out Portugal was another Henry exaggeration of a slight tap from Calhvaho and the Malouda dive in the final for the penalty as mentioned before so if the consideration is cheating then the French are worse than Italy.

Not to add the Zidane headbutt and the French complaining about it, as if the act deserved a yellow card instead of the red given.

But as others have pointed out with the games statistics Italy are the best team.

@grizzly: nice sig.

@prisicila:

ok. u live in america or you're american. i can understand now. that's why you didnt see the nasty american tackles. USA were much more aggressive than the italians in that game. perotta ended up playing the game with one leg. but of course, you wouldnt' notice that

italian team - most indisciplined team? i see someone didnt watch the germany-argentina game or the holland-portugal game.

the only form of italian indiscipline was in the form of de rossi's elbow. i think de rossi was stupid and deserved the red card plus the 4 match ban. he redeemed himself by apologizing to McBride immediately after the game (which i'm sure is unknown to you) and served his ban. he then returned to play in the final and lift the trophy.

unlike the hero, zidane who decided to ram his head into someone's chest knowing he won't be banned since it's his last game. if zidane had rammed that head into materazzi's head, the whole pitch for change color to red.

that zidane move showed the discipline of the italian side. if materazzi were say dutch, portugal, argentina or even england, every other player would have attacked zidane sharp sharp with punches and kicks but the italians kept their cool.

these stats from soccernet
Fouls Suffered -> http://soccernet.espn.go.com/worldcup/stats?type=t_fs&year=2006&cc=5739
Fouls commited -> http://soccernet.espn.go.com/worldcup/stats?type=t_fc&year=2006&cc=5739

show that italy suffered more fouls than any other team while france was the most indisciplined side of the tournament.

onto the australia game. you should go watch the match again and you'll see that italy were the better side with the better chances and deserved the win. materazzi did not deserve a straight red card for a tackle from the front but hey u didnt see that. the penalty may have be dubious but it was clear that grosso's path was impeded. that naive aussie defender didnt have to fall to ground. he could have stood and challenged for the ball. he only invited the penalty by throwing his body on the ground and obstructing grosso. any experienced player would have done the same as grosso (i can name 10 non-italians that you love).

other stats:
shots on goal -> http://soccernet.espn.go.com/worldcup/stats?type=t_sog&year=2006&cc=5739

together with goal difference, proves italy were more attacking than france. tsk tsk.

i tire.

Priscila:
Who ever predicted Italy would win? now you are all crowing!
but i did wink
