i'm guessing you didnt watch any of italy's games except the final. no other side had a better goals difference than italy did. france played a bit better in the final but in the long run italy was the better team of the tournament. heck, in the final, they had a ball hit the cross bar and another disallowed for a marginal offside.

France - Goals For: 9, Goals Against: 3

most of you guys just have a naive bias against the italian team. give them credit. they are the world champions.

no matches were fixed. all our games were fought and won on the pitch. sh*t went on with management but had nothing to do with our players.

those judges are plain cruel. 30 points deficit? wtf! that's just serie C in disguise. i wonder what would have happened if we had actually fixed games using money to bribe peeps. i dont see the difference between our offence and milan except that there was more evidence against us. i'm guessing the judges are inter fans.

well nothing is impossible, we can make it back in one season. we've got a good coach. Del piero, Palladino, Bojinov and maybe kapo dey. juve still has money to pay their wages. i'll only really miss buffon, cannavaro and zambrotta if they leave. nedved is already past his prime. the rest can move on.

FORZA AZZURI. expected it. didnt surprise me at all. cannavaro lifts the cup as captain at his 100th game and buffon wins the world cup on penalties just as he wished when he was a kid (though he didnt save anyway).

Four of Italy’s World Cup squad are included in a 10-man shortlist to win the Player of the Tournament award.
Gigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro, Andrea Pirlo and Gianluca Zambrotta have been selected by FIFA’s Technical Study Group for the 2006 Adidas Golden Ball race.
Of the six other candidates, three of them have past or present Serie A experience – with Juventus – in the form of Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira of France.
German heroes Michael Ballack and Miroslav Klose make up the others with Portugal midfielder Maniche.
While the winner will be handed the Golden Ball, a Silver and Bronze Ball will be assigned to those players who come in second and third place.
In the Young Player category, the shortlist is made up of Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Valencia of Ecuador, Argentina’s Lionel Messi, German Lukas Podolski, Tranquillo Barnetta of Switzerland and Spain’s Cesc Fabregas.
