Dear Lagos State government, sanitise the space. This is your opportunity. Kill the fly with the sledgehammer this time. Sorry, I mean use a bazooka. This is taking entertainment too far. They could have done this in an enclosed space. Respect the space of others as well. Whoever is behind this should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Next time, they will learn to do this in their own homes and not on the streets. |
This is the true meaning of that expression - 'eke out a living.' |
You are saying it nicely. This is death by instalment. Life first Sir. Please protect yourself properly. Never spray without a kit on. The skin is the largest organ in the body. Don't unintentionally commit suicide. DeLaRue: |
Perfect response. At least, I know this is the case in the University of Lagos. Anyone who finishes with a pass, has no honur added to his or her BSc title. rid4stat: |
This speaks ill of the country's leadership. Vote buying last I checked was an issue during the last election. Look at that video properly, they vote, they snap the vote and then eventually they also show others who they voted for. This is poor leadership. Maybe INEC should have conducted the election with EFCC watching account balance and seeing to it to ensure there was no vote buying. We are in for a long thing. |
Hey Seye, Good one. Do you have pictures of your materials? I am only interested in buying; maybe not immediately though. I also think you should put out visuals as well. It will help what you are trying to achieve. Cheers. Oluseye101: |
Sad to hear of this avoidable life loss. And the chance that justice will be done is even slim. I reckon several people went past him there without helping. Who can blame them? The Abuja suicide case comes to mind where the Police had already judged the Doctor a guilty suspect. If you go out in Nigeria and come back home safely, it is an occasion worthy of thanksgiving. I personally do not take it for granted. Happy Sunday everyone. P.S That questionnaire is not easy on the eyes. It seems voluminous on first look. And can you consider showing a progress bar or putting all the questions in a single page so respondents know what they are up against. I clicked, got on that page, and omo see plenty questions wen person never chop lunch. Baba, fix these issues and I'll be back. Na better study you get there. And meanwhile, ensure you come back here with your findings o. It will be good to know what your thesis found out. Best wishes. Princedapace: |
His voice, his choice of words, his excitement, his gesticulations .... Just the perfect combination. Congratulations on this. Well deserved. Lesson Learnt: At the end of the day, it is consistency that pays the bill. |
Baba oni Lace came at the wrong time. Look at the speed of justice. In less than 2 months, the law had taken its cause. His equal who chose to specialise in kidnapping, Evans is not anywhere near justice being granted.... Once upon a good Nigeria. |
Boys Sha! See them opening eyes already while their sisters are asleep. Sharp guys! See the other one forming tinted visioning. He's already thinking of how to pinch one of his sisters. Lol. God bless this family. You won't lack the means to take care of them. Congratulations. |
Any chance a woman will be Director General of NYSC some day? Meanwhile, who is the most distinguished on the role call of former DGs of the NYSC? I'll think Bomoi given my limited knowledge of the institution. I may be wrong. |
I am in Fayose's severe pain following some of the comments I am reading here. We know how this usually ends. She has gotten some money already from Success' parent but even if you give her more she is not likely to make anything of it. Her intention for recording that video was not noble. If it was, you will have seen her face in the video. She was just going to have a good laugh with herself and friends. In truth, she could have built a social cause around this. But not this lady I am seeing in the picture. Voices don't pay immediate bills. They pay it forward. They pay it for long. We all should learn to do somethings for free. After all, Success is even a minor and she had no rights recording the girl's video in the first place without parental consent.... What do I know sef? |
Mi o to be. Mo ko ni kin with temi ni. Olugbayi: |
Baba is from Ondo State. At least, so says Wikipedia. Elmojiid: |
I thought I was the only one quietly wailing about this. Thanks. MrMcJay: |
The station with the highest advert rate in Oyo State. It's also the station with the best studio design. That studio has two beautiful desks. Ayefele knows his business. This was what one expected Chief Sunny Ade to venture into but he decided to go set up his in Ondo first. It didn't fly. Not sure if the station is still alive. Some risks are worth taking. Ayefele may some day go on to become the first Governor in Nigeria who is a person living with disability. Ondo folks, what sayeth thou? |
He is the only Governor in Nigeria to allocate over 26% of his budget to Education as well. He has done that for over 3 years or so now. I hope he puts a proper media team in place to ensure his works in far away Sokoto filters to mainstream media. Congratulations to him. |
I guess he is speaking from the Nigerian perspective. You know how the wheel of justice grinds slowly here. By the time justice is to be served, even Ajimobi's grandson may possible be warming up to contest election then. I'm certain having the case in court is already an option on his table. Don't forget too that there was a pending judgement to maintain status quo. Summary, in a country where justice is delayed, it is equal to justice being denied. Even in God's court, patience is a virtue hence that verse about visiting the father's sin on the children. The real option for justice in Nigeria should be the court of sensible people. Imagine citizens in Oyo #occupying until the issue is resolved. We'll get there seunmsg: |
The station is back on air as we speak, 105.9 FM and you can listen online. They are currently the second most listened to station in Ibadan, next to Splash and they are ahead of Amuludun FM. They pay PAYE, tenement rate and you did not reject it then and now you go ahead to demolish this. There is something called social good. This falls flat on the face of that. Can we crowd source funds for this station and get them back in their place. The station started off as an online radio station. To those pushing for state police, this is an example of more of what can happen if allowed. Shame on the Oyo state government. |
Oh, finally, the DSS suddenly has a spokesman. Shame on this institution. I recall a family saying they had one of their relatives in one of their holding cells, they refused to communicate saying the organisation does not relate to the public since it has no spokesperson. I am so angry reading this. In fact, it's a lie, the entire Nigerian Budget was found in Daura's house. Do another PR again. I wish I had the means to make this claim go viral. You guys run an organisation as though you are gods. You are mortals like the rest of us. Mere mortals. Always remember that. |
Igboho people must not hear this from you. You also want to bring NECO to book. You are tired of shaking the table. Now you want to break the table. I see you. I sight you. Abdulhakeem78: |
True definition of 'self help.' |
According to the report, the owner of Xontec Hotel on Igosun Road, Offa, where the suspects stayed before hitting the banks, Kadir Surajudeen, had reported to the police that there were suspicious people lodging there before the operation Policemen attached to the Divisional Police Station in Offa, Kwara State have been accused of collecting N400,000 bribe from the robbers who hit five banks in the town, killing nine policemen and eight civilians in the process, Vanguard newspaper is reporting. According to the report, the owner of Xontec Hotel on Igosun Road, Offa, where the suspects stayed before hitting the banks, Kadir Surajudeen, had reported to the police that there were suspicious people lodging there before the operation. Surajudeen was said to have told the Divisional Police Officer of the discovery of some incriminating materials as the robbers checked into the hotel. The DPO and the Divisional Crime Officer were said to have sent some officers to the hotel. Vanguard said it learnt that instead of arresting the suspects, the policemen negotiated with them and were offered N400,000. On their return to the station, they reportedly told the DPO and DCO that those Surajudeen reported were Yahoo boys and not robbers. Vanguard quoted a source as having told it: “It was not surprising that the robbers visited the police station the following day and killed about nine policemen in retaliation for collecting N400,000 from them.” Surajudeen, who has since been arraigned for harbouring the armed robbers alongside some of his state has challenged the DPO and DCO in Offa to deny if he did not informe them about the development. In a related development, Vanguard said the robbers were arrested through the tracking of mobile phones the robbers collected from their victims. Vanguard said it gathered that after the robbery operation, the suspects took away the handsets of the victims, which they later gave out to their girlfriends. Officials of the robbed banks were also said to have given the Police all handsets found within their premises after the robbery. Vanguard said the interrogation of the girlfriends with whom the phones were found led to the arrest of the suspects in Ibadan, Oyo State; Lagos State; and Abeokuta, Ogun State. It said further checks revealed that the suspects had been in and out of jail several times and that they regrouped for that operation. Dear Generation Y, the word is corps. The expression, therefore, is corps member for singular and corps members for plural. In pronunciation, however, the letters 'p' & 's' is silent. Same applies to NYSC - National Youth Service Corps. |
That's Orunmila! Ask Awo boys. They will tell you his legend. CaptainJeffry: |

No Finesse. No taste too. Look at the poorly designed cap and the colour combination. Could not even afford to spell Buhari's surname properly. And this is the man we expect to fix a ministry. We can tell with these little things. Sad. Nigeria deserves better than these men. |
Good afternoon. Glad to know people like you still exist. You give humanity hope. Keep doing what you are doing bro. It can only get well. I'll reach out to you inbox as I'll be glad to have you allow me in your circle of friends. Progressives like you are the real charities that keep the world going. My respect. fluentinfor: |

Itydee, your energy is huge. Your kind never die! They are the kind of folks with nine lives. @fluentinfor has done you a huge favour with the several feedbacks offered. Priceless information he has given. It's difficult to farm with bits and pieces of information like this. I hope you have called him and possibly explored sitting with him for hours for a crash course to mitigate your risk. In your shoes, I will even offer to pay him. You still need more insights into pesticide use and application by the way. Apart from knowing the quantity to apply you also need to know how to apply. At this phase, I'll suggest you consider the economic analysis of what you intend. See if your losses can be reduced and view what you have spent thus far as a learning fee in the classroom of how not to farm cucumbers. There's a mention of tomatoes there. Consider it. Everyone takes tomatoes, whether rich or poor. I digress. The underlying for anyone thinking of going into agriculture is to go and spend a few days at a farm where what you intend to do is practised. Next to this is to have a sound economic analysis that you either do yourself or ensure you verify with your local market when it is done. What you read here in nairaland can never pass for understanding the dynamics of agriculture in the Nigerian context. Once again @itydee, I salute your resolute nature. Folks like you are always successful even if it takes a little longer. My love and best wishes bro. |
Congratulations on the feedback you currently have. It's a radio station and one of the things they are interested in would be the basic. Take a deep breath at this moment and relax. I have a good feeling you will get the job. Someone asked if they are paid well. Yes, they are relatively. The least you should get is about 100k. Some pay as high as 400k depending on the depth. You see that dude that said he did not apply because it was not freelance? Make him your friend. He or she understands how the industry work. That is where you should strive to ultimately be. That way you can manage social media account for more than one organisation. It's like earning 200k from more than one source. It's not an easy take but it is doable. It is a job for the future. It's one of the new jobs that appeared following the new media age. While a few others will disappear, it will get stronger at least for the next 10 years. Back to your interview, these is what you should do - 1. Buy data and school yourself at this point. Run to YouTube to ask all the questions you want to ask and then see videos on how it is done. 2. Go online first and check all the online presence of the radio station. This is your arsenal and should be your focus as to promising what you can do. 3. Your role will include growing the twitter and instagram following and also the Facebook page likes. Explain to them that in terms of Alexa ranking, these are the top three social media platforms in Nigeria. 4. You already know the issues - sport and it looks like tour writing skill is good enough. Give them insight into how you will write engaging content that will lead to more interaction with the radio station. Tell them your target is to grow the station by word of Mouse, not Word of Mouth! The latter is for the marketing guys. 5. Tell them about hashtags and how you will draw a social media calendar for the station. A calendar means you will look at all the public issues and event that will trend in each month in the year and then pre-design contents ahead. In February for instance you will need to guess what the hashtag will be and tell the key commemorations in February - Valentine, Int'l Day of the Girl Child etc. You will need to fit a social media plan that syncs the radio station into this. 6. Someone mentioned you having good graphic skills. Run to Canva.com and quickly learn how to use the tool. You can design anything yourself afterwards for DP etc. You also will need to know how to do research on social media. Guess what, universities are already coming up with a means and style through which social media updates can be used in research work. It tells you of the huge potentials available. 7. You will need to name drop. The top blogs in Nigeria. What they do. Their costing plan. You will also need to promise your deliverables carefully by telling them what you will need from them. For examples if the radio station is not streaming online, you need to ask for that. That it will be cool to have a camera in the radio station. You may also ask that they pay for adverts on Twitter and Facebook etc. SEO, SEM, Mail Chimp, Eskimi, Badoo, Google Analytics, Retargeting are names and acronyms you must drop to seem very capable. Don't worry if you do not know all. What we need is that you get the job first. Then 'sacrifice' 70k to do your first training. 8. Let me know if 1-7 makes sense to you. I will continue from here tomorrow morning. On the contrary, I am ready to prep you for the interview at zero cost to you. Let's say my own way of wishing you a happy new year. Best wishes bro.
