PoliticsRe: Relief As 3rd Mainland Bridge Opens by c33b33(m): 5:29pm On Sep 27, 2008
Kobojunkie:
That is not the same formula. I am sorry I disagree. The Third Mainland was not on the verge of collapse. The problem with the Niger bridge did not start overnight. The problem has built up over years of lack in the area of maintainance. Ask your government when last he considered spending some state money to ensure the bridge remains in good condition for his own people's sake? This problem with the federal government did not start todayy and so coming in 2 minutes to bridge collapse to tell us that the federal government is not doing it's job is ridiculous.

Let us assume the state and federal are supposed to jointly fund bridge renovation in this case but has so far refused. It that enough reason for the state to allow the bridge collapse then?? What states will be primarily affected if this bridge goes downhuh Will sitting back and blaming the federal government somehow alleviate the many problems that will ensue when the bridge collapses?? Will the cost of maintaining the bridge get cheaper then? Will the cost to the economy be worth this current inaction on the part of the state governments? Do you really think Peter Obi should not right now be scrambling to get money, from even the people, to fix that bridge before it goes down?? Do I have to be in the country to understand that if that bridge goes down, the chances of it coming back up is seriously reduced considering the level of incompetence that continues to plague all levels of government in that country??
lma0!!please be calm!i'm not supporting either government, what i wouldn't support is saying OBI hasn't done anything, that bridge would have collapsed before now if the state government hadn't done alittle rehab on it last two years.I WILL BE BACK! do my assignment
PoliticsRe: Relief As 3rd Mainland Bridge Opens by c33b33(m): 5:06pm On Sep 27, 2008
Kobojunkie:
YES I am. We need to hold these governors to higher standards rather than continue to swallow the same old nonsense from them. That bridge is essential to the states economy and he thinks it is ok for him to say the federal government is to blame and that sort of means he is not to do something about the situation, as in invest state money in the bridges maintainance?? That is what the lagos state government did.
you are really funny!is that not same formula that wants to be used for the Niger Bridge, the FG brings some amount, the state government brings some, then the contractor source for fund from the private sector with the assistance of the government.Or you want to tell me only Fashola paid for rehabilitating the third mainland bridge. What Peter Obi is complaining is that the FG hasn't called for a meeting btween it and the states[anambra & delta}.Don't you know that it was Tinubu who started the 3rd mainland bridge talks with OBJ before this administration or you think the project just started overnight? cool

Why does the above sound more like one of the many excuses I have heard some, in the black american community here, use to excuse explain away the level of incompetence that continues in exist in many aspects of the society? Are Ibo's becoming the 'flakiest' of all of Nigeria?
i don't know how i sound to you but i want to know what is really your point?are you accusing Peter Obi of incompetency?

Hold up!! The Ministry Of Transportation (Federal) and the Lagos State Works Commission where able to collaborate on this but somehow the Anambra State Goverment could not work on a relationship with the same Federal Agency to make sure the Niger Brigde remains in good condition??. . . hhmmmm. . . . interesting!! and some wonder why I laugh at some of the absurd reports from Nigeria, roflmao
OBJ fooled himself last year by claiming the contract has been awarded or you did not hear Peter Obi^s latest statment about the FG^s unseriousness, even when the amount for the contract has been divided among anambra, delta,FG & the private sector. This is what makes the Average Igboman to shout for BIAFRA!!!!1

If only Maasaba was a business mogul who can contest Nigerian's presidential election, he would not only be worshipped, but be elected the Nigerian president. And his brother, IBB will not annul his election. Don't cry Maasaba, the hot water will soon get cold. This unnecessary attraction will make you so rich that no one can question you again. And if care is not taken, we will vote you as our President but you will not die in jail.
good point!

@C33B33,

You will make more sense without the insults.

Tell me how it is not child abuse to have 100 and something children in a single household. How would the mental and physical needs of those kids be met. Raising up a child is not about 3 square meal, it is about raising up a human being.
How would those children share their father's time, how would they feel loved in a family where the kids have to fight over their father's love.
If you do not see any thing wrong in this then you do not have any moral right to call my post nonsense because you got no sense and you may be from a broken home which is why you do not know what parental love means to a child's young mind.
The mere news traumatized me let alone the kids that live in that kind of enviroment. This is exactly what is wrong with us, the mentality that any individual can do whatever he or she wishes, it should not be so in this century of enlightment.
I am not talking about the wives, those sealed their fate with their own hands.

To those who said that god or God should forgive me, I hope he will forgive Baba too for perpetrating misery on those young minds that call him father.
i am sorry if you felt insulted!
Yeah raising up a family is not about 3 square meals, does his children sound like trained goats,am very sure you didnt watch the interview on tv,you only read on paper & his children were not interviewed on paper. If you all fight for your father/s love in your household does not mean every household will go through war to get their father/s attention
Yeah i have no right to call your post nonsense but i gat sense and i am not from a broken home but a peaceful & loving family just the way am sure Maasaba was living with his family before he got the media attention which made idiots who have access to internet to flex their fingers typing words only those that do not think well do!
You need to be traumatized cos the Breadwinner of that family has been whisked away which can make his family becoming a nuisance to the society.I think there are worst issue to be addressed by the sharia people instead traumatizing a whole household!

abeg na true nobilia dey talk jare.

its this polygamic mentality that makes people think its a cultural thing to beat up women and children as if you're flogging animals.if he used to beat them up like animals,y should they go on a protest march but didnt decide to leave him to rot?

How do you maintain discipline in a house with 86 women and over 114 children? How else can you maintain discipline except by constant irrelevant threats and futile flogging?thats is what we are suppose to be finding out,how one man can control such household and if possible emulate him if he's stylr of diciplne is positive

Running the household like a concentration camp and I wonder if the man even knows all his children's names. He probably stopped bothering to remember after child #20. i have seen a man with only four wives but large number of children,he kept in touch with his family by opening a register, maybe that is what the hausa man may be doing to keep track of his household

As it is, I hope some of the kids don't have the same names- or who's keeping track?

after a while some of them may even marry each other.the media should have done their duty of finding those details,i am sure if there was a case in that household,it would have been reported

In my own opinion, the man should be jailed for child abuse because there is no way I will believe that he is or will be able to cater for all those kids. I think that the family is more of a breeding ground for criminals or criminals to be (no disrespect intended).
if the media didnt report this issue, will you be sitting there and typing rubbish?what do you mean by child abuse?is there any of his wives below 18years of age?Breeding ground for criminals indeed!how many of his children has been reported commiting crimes? This man has been managing his family for years before the media brought the story,he never went to the street to seek alms and should please be left alone.Where were the so-called sharia people when he married his fifth wife and went ahead to get the 80th one.Make them leave the man jwo! cool
