Even if you cover the drianages, as long as waste management is poor, the plastic waste will still get into the covered drainages through the opening made for water. It's not very hard to understand but Africa does not reason critically. Covered drianages have spaces for water to flow into them, nylons and plastics can enter inside there to go and back the drianages.
Tackle waste management first then you can talk about covers drianages.
FYI, you cannot cover canals, it's not done anywhere even in Europe, these plastics will still get into your canals because we are just brainless in this continent.

Again it should open up Aguluezechukwu, Ndopaleze, Ndopaleke, Ajali, linking Umunze.
Ekwulobia should experience further development with this coming, the bridge and possibly the railway. That railway to Onitsha from Ekwulobia should cover people from Imo state like Akokwa, then into Anambra state, Uga, Agwulezechukwu, Oko too, back this way to Isuofia, Igboukwu, Nnobi, Nnewi, etc, to Onitsha. Already there are good network of roads covering those areas and hopefully these plans should work.

Work should focus on making Awka better.
