Pls, for your own good and success in any business, don't just follow the crowd. Think of a product you know you can import and a very sure way of marketing it. After that, bring in a few and use it to test the market and if it is good to go, bring in more. By the time you bring in quality products like 3 times, you would have become a well known name in that area and market would flow freely.

If you have been taught every detail on how to source for products and import them but you still can't reason for yourself rather expecting to be told what to import, then you have to work on that part first. importation no go finish next week. There's time.

You won't make it in business by doing 'follow follow.'

Example, I know a lot of old people, so I know the kind of products to market to them. I even have demand more than my capital right now by just showing them the pictures. If I mention the product now, many will start asking for the link and importing it even though they are students who live in a University environment where young people are the majority. How do you expect to make profit like that?

I'm sorry if my words sound a little harsh but I'll rather see everyone here smiling after their sales than complaining of no market and low pricing.

I don't think so cos the Ak47 is a very dependable high-calibre assault rifle. Don't under-estimate it. It can fire under water or under sand and has a very Low jam rate. Plus, the gun easy to maintain.

No be say we go buy W2000 rifles and then no fit maintain them.

I operate mine as a side business, but in the Eastern part of Nigeria, under a Franchise arrangement with a recognised Transport service Business.
The Franchiser, does the monitoring along their different routes, while I make sure I monitor my drivers delivery and the maintenance of my car.
We have dragged this arguement too far. OP, abeg I don't know how lagos DANFO operates, please try not to do DANFO biz. Eagle,eye don talk him own oooh.

If you notice, those who are discouraging the O.P are referring to the Lagos scenario. I don't know how their Danfo biz has got no solution but in these parts (middle belt) where I'm based, it's pretty good business. It's good that you are operating a franchise (inter-city) hence it can work as a side business.

You have a solid point. Praying to God aside, I don't think this business is for those who are not willing to throw their all into it. I don't think it is something that can be done as a side business. So, if you are looking for a side business, don't go for it. But, if you are ready to do transportation business and make it your office, get the required start-up capital, a comprehensive business plan like every serious business should have, and then settle down and get to work.

From the posts here-in, one would think it is a no-go area to even think of running this business. However, if you know what you are doing, the population should be a gold mine.

It's a dog eat dog world. Like someone said earlier, go hard or go home.

OCTAVO: I downloaded the software from PLAY STORE (Android market I guess) it‘s free of charge. You‘ll see it there.
There are so many softwares there that are free, just download and install any one.

samfibby: My family use to own one, thank god we gave it out on time. From experience, only 20% of investors make anything out of this business. Reasons why this business fails are:
Corrupt lastma officers, VIO, ever greedy policemen, greedy drivers.
To suceed in this business, get a good mechanic with sound knowledge of danfo bus, get a middle aged family man as your driver (preferably a ibo man or calabar) or better still be ur own driver.

It all depends on how one sees it. See it as serious business (with ups and downs), your chances of success are very high.
See it as a faultless ATM or money-making oracle, na high b.p get u. (even ATM dey develop fault sometimes).

This biz , like every other one, isn't for everyone. Especially if u dy look 'uche' face.

SKYQUEST: why don't you experiment with one vehicle first, gather experience and decide if you will really invest in this business. doing this will limit ur loss if anything goes wrong. for me, this is a no no business!

Thanks for the advice. But I have my reasons starting with 3. At least I won't develop "heart-attack" when one vehicle is down. Plus, I don't plan on depending solely on the revenue from the business. #trying to create multiple streams of income.

I will use mine as an example, My driver is a middle aged family man. I went for a family man who is responsible to himself and family. He knows that if he defaults, no questions asked... I will withdraw the vehicle from him.
I have my own mechanic, he works my personal car as well the commercial vehicle. If my driver works the car, it is on his own account, unless I gave the go ahead order.
My weekly return is 25k, 4k everyday and 1k extra. If he defaults without a cogent reason, I withdraw my car.

so far, we all respect ourselves.

thank you joor! I'm about starting this biz (although not in Lagos). People kept bombing me with bad tales and then I got advice from someone who has been very successful in the biz.

I think many people fail in this biz cos they only view it as an easy money spinner and not a proper business.

Apart from the usual "getting of good drivers and mechanics,"

Here's what I have decided to do:
1. Open an office to face the biz (plus my other offline biz) squarely since I'm starting with 3 vehicles.
2. Take my monthly profit as a against 20 days return. The rest goes for maintenance and miscellaneous.
3. Keep my expectations at a very realistic level.
A biz like this is worth doing well. Those that succeed don't have two heads!

luluosas: Thank very much. I think the botched downloads were as a result of cutting (breaking) off of your internet connections. I have it will improve in your location to enable you surf better without wasting your data volume unnecessarily.

I think the breaking of the connection usually occurs when your subscription is still pending (awaiting activation). In my case, the moment it gets activated, the browsing becomes smooth. (On three glo sims so far).

To avoid botched downloads on pc, install and use flashget software for your downloads. I've downloaded over 1.6 gig of my video tutorials and softwares using flashget. Once the connection breaks and you reconnect (even after 1 year), your download will continue from the place which it stopped.
