But I learn and try not to make same mistake, employer prey on my inexperience by offering me low wages at one point in my career.. But still I take as a learning experience... they are no excuses in life bro It makes us strong, we stand the challenges of life and pass the test of time. Even the bible says "Man, thou art inexcusable". I avoid anyone that gives excuses for their failure, you just have to keep trying no matter what, don't give up. |

Godfather10: Plenty 20yr old dey drive for London l beg, we complain to much . Excuse me sir. I think you should read my post with understanding before responding, which your response isn't necessary. - where did I mention that the guy is complaining? I did what I did out of pity, not because he complained, not because he begged me for anything. If I didn't have a conversation with him I wouldn't have known anything about him, just that its my style to know any driver that comes my way. I'm off the ehauling wheel, but whenever I see a Corolla involved in any issue I must stop by to know how I can help, have you done that before? I hate it when we are talking about Nigeria someone will bring in another country as a yardstick. - if Nigerian was very okay then why were you in London? (If at all you were there) - can you compare Nigerian economy to London? - can you compare Nigerian's fare to London? - how many 20yrs old in Nigeria can affor a car of their own? - do you know how much uber charged from international airport to my house, with the one hour he slept in my place? And he never complained, rather he was excited. Throughout my service years in the military and as an instrumentation and controls engineer in the oil and gas industry I've been to more than ten countries (outside Africa) but I've not used it to judge anyone. - in Brazil, do you know that the number one Schneider Knx programmer as at 2016 when I met him he was 18? - do you know that one of the highest paid instrumentation engineer in Angola now working with one of the E & Ps is 20 this year? - one of the OEM (in Australia) that certified me in Process Controls their best technician is below 20. - not to mention the ones I met in military out there Should I mention more? This is Nigeria, let's see how we can help each other, that's the way forward, instead of using it against them. The said guy will be going to PH on Sunday with my logistics officer, I was able to connect him with some friends, 3 companies awaits him there. Thats the way forward. |

Felicity0001: Sir you're right with every of your point but this is not the subject. You've been into the business for two years, good and congratulations to your advancement and progress but what would you do to that your beat renter who has been paying you for lets say 12months without any stories with good maintenance of your business and one day he say boss I'm taking 1 or 2 week off to rest and maybe pay attention to my health because I feel somehow so for some reason he either returns the car to you or parks it idle in his garage then travels. Would you say because it's business and you can't afford to loose a 1 week or 2 you then say to him, No! Before you return the car must have been given out to some one else? Or you would ask him not to go on his vacation? If it's me, this will be my decision because of his good record - get another trusted driver that can maintain the business till you return, you must sign an undertaking to this effect |

I knew nothing about the biZ before signing Agreement. At a time I felt my partner took advantage of me. When he noticed am a novice. But all these things made me who I am today. dru23: Thanks bro.. ..I also mentioned on previous post that some partners are very careless ..it goes both ways.... It's a very tough business, the last driver owes me over 100k naira... he didn't pay 30k naira for his December 2019 payment.. I let it go ,I was told he has three kids and small baby..etc .. So I gave him time and he was taking advantage of my kindness.. Last ,last I collected the car from him. So imagine if I let all the drivers owe me , you think that is fair ? The other drivers are doing ok and this is why I take my time hiring drivers.... Hire me na please! Lolz! Brother did you say 100k? This is serious. I have a problem here, why consider what he isn't considering? If his family was important to him I don't think he would've done that. You know what? Don't stop the good work but avoid bad workers, they're like the DEVIL, even if you remove the letter D the answer will still be EVIL, you can't make anything good out of them. Someone was trying to advice an intending partner on this forum many months ago to scramble the idea of considering marriage as a condition for service. He said that married men may come up with lots of family stories for not been able to remit, that was so true. My logistics officer is a married man with children, I met him as an ehauling driver, he's on this platform as well. you have to see how this young man sacrifices for his family. He's ready to take any task just for the sake of the wife and children, he doesn't joke with his family same as any task assigned to him. He drives every week from Lekki/Epe to PH, Warri and Benin without complaining. When my woman spoke with him he said "whenever I see my wife and children happy when I return home, the excitement in them welcoming me alone gives me joy, whether I eat or not, whether I have money or not, my joy is filled, it makes me a proud husband/father". He added "yes, my family is my greatest priority but I need my job to keep them going and I need them to keep my job going, whenever I think about them it gives me the strength to do more because I don't want them to suffer. Can you imagine this kinda mindset from a young man that is still in his thirties dru? As I'm typing this now he's preparing to hit the road to warri. Right from the day he made that statement lots of things changed positively between him and us... |

Monkeyprick: Bro, tell that guy to go submit his CV to workforce group ,Whytecleon, Dragnet (contract banking jobs, instrumentation Engr jobs etc) are available and should help keep his body and souls together till a better offer surface. I understand that they don't pay much but with his course & grade, 50-65k after all deductions is far better than toiling all day under hot sun to remit 30k to partners. He should also be on the lookout for Graduate trainee roles, he will surely get invited for test and if he knows his onions with a dint of luck, he would get a job. I asked him to take a day off every week then spend like 5 hours in a cyber cafe for this purpose. He agreed to that. The problem with this ehauling driving is; it disconnects you from the world, the least time you have you spend sleeping, even in your dream you see your partner asking you to hustle up for the weekly remittance, or like one of my friend, you can get trip requests in your dream, nsuto mkpo? |

dru23: The 20year is a grown man. Please stop making excuses for him .Nobody put a gun to his head, and the slavery part does not add up bro.. They are jobs out there other than uber that the man can do.... And one thing you fail to understand, they way you pity this man . A lot of drivers will not pity car owners.. You seem to be looking from one angle..
And what do you think weekly rental should be? You seems to be advocating something that will be fair .. But what you don't get is that no matter how low rental is ,most drivers will still give excuses not to meet up.
Transport business is a very tough business, you have to be as tough as the people you dealing with. Example for instance, I do all my repairs both major and minor. And I ask for 30k weekly delivery.. Upon all my fairness driver still owes me money,. The last driver owe me.over 100k naira. I keep giving him chance to meet up ,I just kept quiet .. And finally I collected my car from him. He kept telling me he three kids and another baby. So what am I supposed to do.
You are looking at things from one view.. Welcome back brother, long time. With 30 you handle all the repairs? That's very okay, You're a good man bro, seriously. Lots of partners knows nothing about the business, they just push in a car and put the whole thing on the jobless driver. Guys, rest. This job is stressful and bodies need rest. Owner partners move on when a driver dies on this job, bolt and uber also move on. I don't know the mods here, posting of earnings should be highly prohibited on this forum.
My neighbor is crying now, the 2010 Corolla he gave an Alfa to use for this hustling is gone, the engine is totally hooked inside, not rolling at all, and guess what Alfa said? "Oga the car is due for service". Not even a drop of oil inside the engine, no coolant.
He saw earnings online last December and decided to give his wife's car for 35K, while he handle the repairs, all Alfa could do after destroying the engine is to tow the car to the man's mechanic, instructed the owner to call him when he's done with the SERVICING.
From my recent discussion with some drivers, i discover one silly attitude among car owners, all they ask is WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LAST CAR YOU DROVE? If I was to be a driver I will also ask them WHAT HAPPENED THAT THE LAST DRIVER ABANDONED THE CAR?
They hand over their cars to the likes of Alfa without proper assessment of the driving skills, as long as you've given them guarantors the car is yours. The worst drivers on lekki/Epe express are ehauling drivers, countless accidents from 11pm till 6am especially on weekends. Ask any LCC or police officer they'll tell you, there's no night an ehauling car is not completely written off on that road.
As long as these car owners put all their family problems on one lemon Corolla, there's no way the guy won't overuse the car.
The risks involve in this hustle is far above the peanuts you make in a day, so stop posting that nonsense and face your hustle, posting it here doesn't add money to your account, it doesn't convey you any title, use your head. |

WilliamsTheGrea: Hello everyone, my name is Williams, I'm a young guy of 26 years old currently engaged to a very pretty young lady who is 24 years old
I do business online and earn good income before I decided to find a lady and settle down with and luckily I found a good one who is decent and don't flirt around or do social media's like whatsapp or Facebook. Hardly receives calls, not friendly with males lol (I managed to woo her through a church member)
We have been 1 year into the relationship now and we are to get married next month but guys the problem I am having now is that she has a child for another man which is her ex she was with when she was young she gave birth at age 20, we dated for about 7 months before she told me this.
Ever since then I haven't really been myself, the child is a male child who lives with her mother but recently the mother called her to come carry the child as she can no longer look after him due to him being a very stubborn boy, the child is 4 years old.
Now she has gone to bring the child to our home, a two bedroom apartment, I'm a kind of guy who loves peaceful environment with no single drop of noise, now ever since the child came in about a week now, I have not had peace, we have quarreled several times because of the child, I'm not really comfortable with the child because I can't love another man's child as my own
My girlfriend is yet to give me a child of my own, the child runs around and doesn't listen except when beaten and each time I beat the boy up when he does wrong my girlfriend looks at me with hatred like I'm maltreating the boy because I'm not the father.
Please guys help me I don't know what to do but I can't cope with the child, I remember paying the child school fees about 3 times since we are together because the child's father isn't doing anything at all.
Now today is the child's birthday and she is asking me for money to get him cake and take him out.
My people of nairaland I cannot accept another man's child no matter what I love the mother but not the child the connection is just now there because the boy isn't of my character I'm a calm man, very calm but the boy is very radical and stubborn children irritate me so much.
I don't know what to do.
Each time this child topic comes up between I and my girlfriend she becomes bitter.
She says she will never take the child to the father or the family of the father that she must raise the child herself.
I don't think I can help train anothrr man child whom in the end will go and find his father after he is all grown.
Please I need advice, she says over her death body will she return the child to the father
I'm not comfortable in my own home.
A lot of things running through my mind like to break up with her for peace to reign
Or rent another apartment for her and the boy to go live in.
Please I need matured advice The reason why she told you of the child is because her mom wants the child out of her house asap. If you're ready to bear another mans headache go ahead, if not pull out. |

Family › Re: My Wife Forgets Our Anniversary - Does She Love Me? by calabardick(m): 8:01pm On Feb 19, 2020 |
Rapecase: Edit - to those who may be wondering about my username, I created this account whilst trying to help two kids who were victims of rape.
Our 4th anniversary was few days ago, as I thought she would , my wife forgot the date. It ordinarily would not have hurt me so much but I have always had this feeling that she doesn't love me.
When we were dating she was all over me. But nothing I do ever since we got married gets appreciated. Few months ago she hurled abuses on me for helping a sister, a friend of hers, who lost a child and are homeless. And what's the help? Just 100k. Apparently I enjoy abandoning her need for others. And this coming from a woman who few days earlier was saying I had invested over 2m on her business in a short while ( by her own calculation, as I don't take note when giving her money ).
I told a mother figure in church who is close to both me, her and the family I helped who corrected her. Expect if she will apologise tomorrow.
Off course the lady I helped in question is idiotic but I can't bear her and house and kids being homeless especially after losing a child.
My wife will never apologise when she does sometime I object to. Her apology which is often done in the most demeaning way is only tendered if I take the issue over board.
Our sex life since we got married has been poor to the extreme. I have ensured I do not cheat, not for a single day but I constantly have to beg for sex or masturbate to relieve myself.
Laying our bed is always a war for her. She does it only when she wants. Mind you we have two kids and a maid who helps with virtually everything.
The maid in the morning ( 90% of the time ) makes the breakfast, clean the house while she only baths our first child and get her ready for school, I take her to school most of the time.
Am I overreacting to expect my wife to
1. Properly apologise when she does something I do not like and ensure she doesnt repeat it? For instance few days ago she was planning on traveling outside our base, I only got to know through her phone conversation with her sister although she didn't eventually travel, I felt I should have known before hand as I got to know a night before. Till date what I got in form of apology is, "I would have told you". She was planning to travel by 5am, I heard her conversation by 10pm a night before and we slept on the same bed.
2. Sex at least 3 times a week? I stopped trying to initiate it after so many rejections.
3. Not to forget important dates such as our wedding anniversary?
4. To at all time be the one making my meal.
Please note she practically doesn't work now. We are setting up a fashion house for her she has taken over 3m from me as of the time of writing this. Note my cloths go to dry cleaners. Only thing she does is cook my meal ( when she wants ).
I am beginning to think maybe I am a mental health patient who doesn't know yet. Maybe something is wrong with me and I am just reacting based on that? - were you getting married to a single mom? - age wise, is she your senior? - who is the breadwinner there? |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by calabardick(m): 7:53pm On Feb 19, 2020 |
nitigriti: It's actually happening in the industry I work in. By UN Convention, manufacturing and imports of R22 is supposed to have ended in 2019. We import R22 with a Federal Government (SON) license.
Sometime last year, we got whiff of the fact that LASG was about to clamp down on importers of R22. We didn't deny our reality. We didn't say we have license from the Federal Government so LASG cannot touch us.
We faced up to the reality and went ahead to negotiate with the LASG through the agency in charge. And you know what, we were able to get LASG to reason with us and Grant us concessions. The key one is that implementation of the ban on R22 and devices that use R22 will be phased over some time, not instantly.
This is what business people do. They envisage potential problems to their businesses and tackle them. What is R22? Are you referring to refrigerant (for old school air conditioners) |
