Yoruba go and die becos, GEJ is handing over to a president of Igbo extraction in Nigeria.

The OP is yoruba selling lies since 1960. Igbo are next in line for the Presidency.

No igbo President, no hausa or yoruba president either. No Nigeria.

If Geometrics is simply generating power, why not contract with the government to pump X megawatts into the grid at a certain price per megawatt? It is not as if we have more power supply than we actually need.

The arrangement for sufficient power is already finalized the issue here is electric power distribution. Other players want to cash in on that level. Thus telling him that he cannot generate and distribute. This is a private venture that has investors and stakeholders, u cannot tell people the limits to invest on a project that have already received approval. This is the issue.

Then those involved should do the right thing.
Barth Nnaji knows that he cannot generate and disitribute at the same time. It is just like Ibeto refusing to follow due process in buying up that Ebonyi cement company, he expects it to be handed over to him on a platter of gold simply because he is a brother.
It doesn't always work like that, they should learn to do the right thing instead of soliciting public sympathyl

What exactly do you mean by Barth cannot generate and distribute at the sametime? A company like Geometric has stake holders that can finance both generation and delivery of electricity. All this delays only affect businesses and increase unemployment in the east. It is not helping biko nu.

Besides the project is a private venture and their is plenty of room for other competitors,, but you have to do the work yourselves rather than tell Nnaji wat and wat his company cannot do on their project.

I was pleasantly surprised that they built the Ferris wheel included in the project. That is why I am hopeful that having left the space for those office buildings and hotel, they will also build it.

Yes, Chime is one man that believes in planning and implementing his plans. Which is a rarity amongst our people and our type of leaders. We prefer to just do anything anyhow depending on our mood and the exigencies of the time. One hopes that Chime will at least initiate those projects in next year's budget even if he can't complete them. It will be there to remind whoever that the plan for the entire mall complex Plan had not been completed simply by building the mall itself.

Fingers cross that he does that even though he is running out of time as Gov. He remains a beacon of hope to Ndiigbo that things can be done with the right attitude, organisation, planning and implementation. The man is one of a kind and very rare talent that God used to bless Ndiigbo.

Do you know that Enugu is listed amonst the not so rich states in Nigeria but yet Chime did it.

^^^What pisses me off about GEJ is that when it comes to his own state Bayelsa, dude no dey take am play, and it's a different set of rules entirely! See how he did the needful to shunt aside a non-performing governor in his state that was about going for a second term in office!? Yet Theodore Orji that's a much worse governor gets his unalloyed support!

We have too many case scenario of this occurrence. Where do we start? Is Stella Oduah that was removed or Barth Nnaji that was made to stand down? Everybody saw wat they did to Soludo, even Orji Uzor Kalu needed a special pass from the powers in the party tpo be allowed to contest for the senate.

Nobody hears from Ihejirika who was aspiring to succeed T.A Orji and would have performed alot better. Just tell me wat T.A Orji is going to the senate to do? Just look at the slow pace of work at the Enugu Inter Airport since Stella left, just watch the building and interior will all be sub-standard when and if the complete work. Stella had an eye for detail and the determination to finish up wateva she starts to perfection. Even if she has to wait till a later date or better excuse to do the needful.

We Ndiigbo have people and must use the ones that will work for us collectively, if we are to grow. Our unity is our strength.

What we may get next is one of those 'publicity' Governors; all noise and slogans with little or nothing on ground!......Kinda like Ochendo-global! sad

That wil be very tragic to take 4steps forward and return 20 steps backward. I really wonder sometimes wat GEJ intention is for Ndiigbo and the Southeast.

Anybody with the vision and determination to move the region forward is malign. First it was Soludo now Chime. Look at how he is allowing T.A. Orji move to the senate with ease and even choose a successor.

Chime deserves to be in the Senate more than any other person, the man has earned it.

Yes, they still left space for those buildings. I will repost a previous picture of Spyder where you will clearly see the left space on both sides of the entrance gate.
Truly, the office complex will provide real office spaces for corporate investors in Enugu. I wonder why it has not been built.

Any thing Chime falls to complete or start whilst in office, you can forget about. Chime is the person with the vision and determination, that will be difficult to replicate.

Are Nigerian men such animals that a woman cannot stay in an empty room without thinking about rape?? We need to get our pririties right. Instead of blaming the victim, how about prosecuting rapists to the full extent of the law and praising brave women who come forward.

I really am scared of Nigerian people and their way of thinking. Very backwards mentality. lipsrsealed

Stay in an empty room in your father house or campus, not a total stranger house that is not your husband. That is daft.

In every civilized world including the States, u are innocent until proven guilty.

i.e.Remember the case of the IMF boss Strauss-Kahn and the chamber maid that accused him of rape in New York? It was just false allegations, though in this case he might be guilty, it is for the court to decide in this case and not the court of public opinion becos we were not their, so anything we say is 50/50.

the intelligence needed here is to locate the seven guards to verify the story.

and also find out who is paying for the neighbour's damaged car.

That is not her role but for the law enforcement agent. I still wonder, if the okereke house is now unilag campus.

Wat business did they have together? So she followed him to the room without force.

I doubt this womans story as much as i try to support her, this story get k-leg.

At the eatery, he ordered that the food be made take-away and asked me to go eat it in his place and at the same time rest before taking me back to the hostel.
Immediately we entered the room, he secured the door and I had supper and later asked to be taken back . But he said he must have sex with me. I tried to appeal to him to consider my state of health and take me back to campus.

Before I knew what was happening,he started beating me, forcing to have his way. As if that was not enough, he called in seven guards in the compound who assisted him and tied me down. He thereafter, went into his kitchen and brought out a knife, threatening to kill me if I resisted. He took me to one of the rooms where he brought out a condom and raped me.

So the rape did not take place when seven men allegedly tied her down , she was untied and taken to a room where the monster had time to wear condom before forced sex.

Then all of a sudden, she found the strength to destroy property, shout and fight all the seven men and Mr Okereke?

she went violent and started shattering every property she could lay her hands on. In the process, one of the objects she allegedly threw out of the window, landed on a vehicle belonging to one of the tenants, smashing its windscreen. That attracted neighbours.

Tell me a story that is plausible abeg. Tell me that the guy no agree to settle as una talk.

either way, should your sister go to the media and disassociate herself from you immediately?

She did not support rape, but will be patient for the justice system to either vindicate or prosecute the alleged culprit .

becos he is from Anambra state! ...This is the only line I hate so much, is he (Ibeto) the only Anambra man doing or want to do business in Ebonyi state?
Again, nobody is fraustrating anybody here but the right channel should be honored.
I'm really worried that that cement factory is laying fallow and decaying for no good reason, we want Ibeto Group or any other investor to come and resurrect that business.
please, keep Anambra name out of this.

Ebonyi should have all the large scale processing industry, that is not limited to rice mill but extend to salt production, not limited to cement but extend to ceramics table tops etc.

Ebonyi has the resources for this, even major oil refinery built in the east should be sited in Ebonyi as an industrial processing state for raw materials. Housing estate for workers will spring up and in no time u have an industrial city caved out of Ebonyi State.

Anambra or no Anambra is not relevant here, dont care about states but interested in development becos once we head in the right direction all other trivial matters disappear, as they are born out of poverty.

If Onitsha develops alongside the newyork model tomorrow, will Ebonyi be excluded from enterprise? I don't think so, becos the east is one with separate arms, legs and eyes but one body.

As for Ibeto, the Ebonyi State Assembly should go and get him to revive that cement industry and create jobs with 50% allocation to Ebonyi indigence and the other 50% jobs allocated equally to the other southeast states.

Ndiigbo should always try to negotiate and apply humour to ease the tension, we get way too serious with one another which sometimes can be scary. It is almost like becos alot of us can't speak igbo properly, we speak it with seriousness and no jokes, let us learn to talk to one another properly and even with humour.

Was it not suswam that asked igbos to come and invest in the state by giving them free lands?
Is that not back door enough?
Am sure ibeto was at least going to buy his own lands, so what exactly is back door?

spyder880:
@ cjrane, beautiful ceramics. If only I can acquire the technology and use it to make tiles, toilet seats and products. This is good business.

@InyinyaAgbaOku exactly ibeto will buy his own land, possibly offer shares to people that own the land the limestone is found. A quota system can be used to allocate a higher share of employment to Ebonyi people and then to other southeast state.

@spyder880
The whole southeast appears to have an emerging economic structure that have seen various state having dominance in various industry. i.e. Ebonyi resource processing industry, Anambra commerce/engineering, Abia manufacturing industry, Imo Agriculture, Rural tourism and Cultural centre, Enugu is a Knowledge based centre for information, media and communications.

Other sectors are Technology and if we can create a system to pull together the states and make investment based on geo-economic spectrum, we will be on our way. It is vital that the provincial sectors are carried along.

@ the bolded, EXACTLY true!!!

Igbos only find their voice when it involves frustrating the business of fellow Igbos. The same person is a pussycat when dealing with other tribes of Nigeria. Why is that?

It is a big problem, becos though destiny is God given, u must fight to retain them. I see a situation where other tribes are taking our destiny becos of these in-house lions.

Systematically, in-house lions should be tamed or caged and our culture/ cultural practice updated. It should be a silent cultural revolution.
The suggestion you advocate below is invaluable, ndiigbo have lost so much time and will lose so much more with other dominant players in Nigeria against us. The time for action is now.
cjrane:
i believe we should encourage every state to document all the resources and minerals we have and hold seminars to enlighten our business people on how they can invest and become richer using the minerals, while creating jobs and paying taxes to the government.

It is beyond tragic what short sightedness and lack of seeing the big picture can do to condemn one into poverty and misery.
Mind you, Nkalagu cement is the best limestone deposit in West Africa. In South Africa, many prosperous communities have sprung up from cement factories in their area. Such can be replicated in Ebonyi state with proper leadership and legislation.Dangote may truly be bribing those people to frustrate Ibeto just to maintain his monopoly in Eastern Cement business

Bath Nnaji quit his very well paid job to revolutionise the power sector in the east but one Emeka Offor is fustrating that venture on request of the Vice President Sambo. Soludo also comes to mind and even Ihejirika is fustrated by the failure T.A Orji who wants to force his candidate on Abians. Stella Odua also comes to mind though she will get the senate, which is good.

The problem is Igbos have too many lions in the house and pussycats outside in face of other groups that make up Nigeria. Ibeto must be allowed to set sail, it is over-due.

Just look at Uyo Akwa Ibom, very soon igbos will go there to fight for bread and they will repeat the Rivers Treatment of 1960s , wen will fail to take up and utilise our very rare opportunity. https://www.nairaland.com/1256550/uyo-city-peace-beauty-pictures/63
