This Ondo man called Jason termed Itsekiri does not speak for the whole people of delta and edo. Fact Anioma Igbos are breaking east soon rather than later with the creation of anioma state. Fact Edo Igbos are coming east along with affiliated south eastern groups becos we will demand dat. Fact the Isoko are also South east affiliated group and have strong links with the Igbos and Urhobo. Fact their are Urhobo clans that would vote to go south east. Fact the Ijaws taht have been fighting the Yoruba, Itsekiri and even Urhobo is coming South east.

This thread have deviated from the actual topic termed merger of existing states not al this. Bru ha ha. Southeast needs more state and we will get more states until we are satisfied.

The fact remains that Abuja and Lagos and KADUNA AND jOS WERE BUILT USING THE OIL MONEY OF THE SOUTH EASTERN Nigerian and for as long as we boost the resources that lays the golden egg of this country, we will have as many states as we want.

I am trying very hard not to get abusive. People talk about Bayelsa State not generating enough but its oil revenue are used to build cities like Abuja and Lagos. The only regions not generating enough revenue is the North and South West. We in the east can have as much states as we want becos we generate enough revenue.

yes! but the fact remains taht their are parts of edo dat have strong ties with the igbos and certain areas are igbo speaking areas. they might want to com east along with the aniomas. isoko is distinguished becos they too have strong ties with the igbos and urhobo. there are urhobos clans dat will vote to go east. i know dis becos i have urhobo relatives.(we are all humans after all and one mans rubbish is another mans treasure, just becos u want to go west don't mean their are others than wont go east)

I AM NOT SURPRISE OF THE DILAPIDATED LEVEL OF INFRASTRUCTURE IN ABA. THE CITY WAS THE SETTING OF A BITTER FIGHT BETWEEN BIAFRA AND NIGERIA. I AM HOWEVER AMAZED BY THE WAY IN WHICH THE PEOPLE OF ABA HAVE COPED AND THRIVED WITH 50 YEARS OF FEDERAL GOV NOT INVESTING OR ALLOCATING ANY APPROPRIATE REVENUE FOR INFRASTRUCTURE ON THE SAME LEVEL WITH CITIES LIKE LAGOS. IGBOLAND IS THE EMERGING GIANT OF AFRICA, U CAN QUOTE ME ON THIS IN THE FUTURE.

the decision is not yours to make, there is noway in the nigeria constitution, that give you that power. That decision to merge state , does not rest in a state. please see the nigeria constitution. A state or its governor or state assembly have no says to the merge with another state. Please see the nigeria constitution.

U are right, however way the government goes about creating new states under OBJ and all other president would be applied. We will have our additional five south eastern states in no time via successive gov, one regime after another,

Aba and Onitsha need alot of serious work to be on the right track. Anything being done in those territory should be on par with international standard with no mistake or dirty economization dat creates environment problems in the long run.

Development should be sustainable and relentless not do one and take a break. Industries being established should have a market and consumer base on ground. All south eastern governors should have an annual assembly council to plot and solidify the accelerated and sustainable development of the region.

This development we dey talk no hard as long as u carry the vision of wat should be clear in your mind and are able to mobilise the delegates and southeast masses to that vision. Please let us not forget Law, Order and Discipline of the masses and delegates becos without standards all the development na just rubbish.

Dey should enforce strict discipline via the law enforcement and judiciary to prosecute criminals, corruption and human rights violation. This should also include anybody involved in any form of barbaric vigilante or mob justice. Citizens should only have the right to citizens arrest and then hand over criminal to the law. Such citizens should then be rewarded by the state to encourage such bravery.

The police force should be desperately reformed with balance and checks at every level of the organization to attain effectiveness. So much work to be done!

^^Wat nonsense talk is dis 123 Level. Ok Itsekiri are south western yoruba but dat don't mean the Ijaws dat have been fighting the Yoruba, Itsekiri and Urhobo, like forever would want to stay in a state with u lot. The Ijaws have already chosen were they belong and it is not in the west, for as long as the Igbo's will have them.

As for the Urhobo we are yet to know because they too might decide to go east. Parts of Edo, that have stronger ties with anioma igbo might want to go east , especially the igbo speaking parts. Please, don't forget the Anioma Igbos in delta that are prepared to wage war to join their eastern brothers if it has to come to dat. In all the fact the Ijaws haven't been fighting their Igbo brother goes a long way to convey were they belong .

It's all a ruse to put a stop to the influx of the ibos (lol). A very welcomed ruse, i must say.

I think the ibibio are a  earlier mixture of Efik and Aro-Igbos. They are smack inbetween the two and can't have come from heaven. There are many similarities dey share.

^^Ok! Who are the ibibios den? Where did dey come from? Are dey Efik and how come they are many in Akwa Ibom  and the Efik in Croos River? The Igbo's  mainly traded by the coast with the fishing community and were not known for fishing and I am sure we inter-married with the Efik at some point. What happened to the offspring of that union or culture, becos it won't be Igbo today.

^^My brother EzeUche, u should know by now that the ibibio are Igbos and Efik mix. They are technically Igbos of Efik decent.
