eodavids: Ohaneze Ndigbo cannot and should not mix up with Ipob.
Legally, Ipob is unlawful while the Ohaneze is a legally recognized body of Ndigbo.
Pls, let's notbcriticize this initiative by the Ohaneze, rather we should (as true Igbo Sons and Daughters) pray and hope that the committees set will result in positive gains for the Igbo Nation What makes IPOB unlawful? Do you know what is called fundamental human right? Even justice Nyako ruled that it is not an unlawful organization. |

laudate: Nnamdi Kanu is a very poor student of history. The Edo people that I know & have worked with for several years, can never join his proposed republic. He has obviously forgotten what happened in the old Mid-West region, when Biafran forces over ran their territory. The Edos were the first set of people to form an underground resistance movement against the Biafrans, who they saw as an invading force. The late Maj-Gen Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia of blessed memory, was one of those who spearheaded it. Here is an Edo man's view: Poor student of history. Edo kingdom of yessterday is older than NRI Kingdom? Pls do more research and correct yourself. Edo kingdom that was coming to NRI kingdom to solve all their spiritual problems. |

Nigeria is a great country and no government or good citizen will want balkanization of a diverse, big market and great nation like Nigeria. We see a nation with the largest domestic market in Africa and one of the largest in the world, the potential is there and we will key into and millions or billions out of the market.
I will advice you to go and get a good job or set up a good business to enjoy the huge opportunities that Nigeria has to offer Nigeria is a great country in what sense Mr ? In Roads, electricity or education if I may ask? Go and get a good job indeed? How much do you earn or make daily? I repeat this country has nothing to offer. |

DrGoodman: Typical response from a half educated man with closed circuit thinking abilities. Did I talk about certificates when I said education? I may upload my PHD thesis and certificates here but does it really prove I am educated? No!
The problem with people like you is that you have been conditioned to believe there is only one track road in life (maybe as a result of using the village track roads in your place). That one chamber mindset has now transferred itself into your adult life and has superimposed itself on all the little teachings you got in your limited education. And you came out same, of not worse than when you are yet to go to school.
I advice you to explore a little, travel a lot more and interact with members of other places to enrich your education.
Nnamdi Kanu raised very valid questions about this contraption you are trying to defend, all the questions he raised are yet to be answered, all the problems he was trying to fight are still growing, and nobody seems to have an ability to tackle them. The country is practicing apartheid, nepotistic tendencies powered by an incompetent team of leaders hell bent on foisting poverty on the masses while they use propaganda to maintain their stranglehold on power.
Nothing can work in this country in the present setup. Its not as if you and your people don't know it, you will all pretend all is well while things get progressively worse. Instead you will turn your hate on anyone who dares reveal the truth.
Which big market? A market which the leaders choose whom to liberate and whom to frustrate? A big market where the corrupt police and other forces conspire to frustrate trading and small businesses? A big market where the foreign currency policy is as inconsistent as Buharry appearance at state house meetings?
Have a good day. Well spoken my brother. This country has failed to progress since the British left. In this century, this failed nation is still talking about 10000MW. They are still talking about railway. Oh God. Let this country burn to ashes. Just to watch premiership games today, I have used not less than 10litres of petrol in addition to the noise I endured. |

fratermathy: I generally refrain from falling into the idiocy that Igbos do not exist in the SS region. Igbos do exist as evident in Delta and Rivers State, as well as a few communities in Edo and Cross Rivers State. Because of this, I don't like using the term "SS" or "ND" to qualify the totality of the Lower Niger peoples. Every group should speak for itself. Even within the Igboid nation, there are various interests among the groups, although that is none of my concern.
My issue is with the idea that the SE/Igbos should, of necessity, carry the non-Igboid SS along in their genuine aspirations. Igbos/SE should simply stop doing that and all these insults and what-have-we to the Igbo nation will diminish eventually.
I am sure Victorvezx understands the point I have just made. Thumbs up. Nnamdi will do that. Though am not an iPob registered member but I will vote for Biafra if given the opportunity because nigeria is a failed nation. Director arrest slowed IPOB down. The next thing director will do is to engage the leaders of all the tribes they want in this new biafra. From there we go know how far. U never can tell. |

By the way, which Nigerian town or city, do you reckon, comes closest to having a semblance of a "general mood of tranquility, restraint, and soberness"? It used to be between Calabar and Abuja, but both cities have been corrupted and are now ridden with crime and insecurity.
My best bet now is Abakaliki, but then, who knows anywhere better? Enugu. |

HisSexcellency: Having been observing the issue of Biafra agitation for a while and the recent release of Nnamdi kanu from prison. I believe that in the interest of peace let the focus be on the push for a referendum to be conducted in the 5 states of south east and any other South south state that wishes to partake.
The awareness has already started through ipob and kanu's imprisonment. Let there be ground mobilisation of the people for a referendum, let the people decide their future themselves if Biafra yes or Nigeria yes.
All that is required is a simple majority, let those championing "one nigeria" tell the people why it's the best thing to do likewise those in favour of Biafra. We are living in a civilized society now everything Shouldn't be forced on people without them having a say. Point of correction, igbo nation and not south east. Referendum should take place in igbo land. State does not define tribes. |
Politics › Re: Nnamdi Kanu Will Continue Agitation For Igbo Nation – Wife by caleboxylic: 4:35pm On Apr 29, 2017 |
fratermathy: Ikenna or Ikechukwu, you really don't have to lie you know?
You and I know that Ibibios are not at the forefront of any Biafran agitation. Go to Uyo, Eket, Ikot Ekpene, Oron, Etinan, Itam, etc, you will NEVER find any relic or sign of Biafra or the Biafran agitation there. It's just so sad that you had to lie with the largely peaceful Ibibios in order to make an unexistent point that the Biafran agitation transcends Igbo/Igboid groups.
I really don't care about Biafra or the agitation for it. That is your fundamental right as humans. However, always acknowledge the fundamental rights of others likewise. I have NEVER seen or heard of any Biafran rally in Ibibioland, Urhoboland, Itsekiriland, Efikland, among others in the South-South region. All Biafrans rallies and propaganda come from the East/Igbo/Igboid groups.
This is not to say there won't be a tiny minority of people from the non-Igboid groups who don't align with the Biafran cause. I would be foolish to deny that. However, even in the original Biafran secession, there were Yorubas that supported and fought for Biafra. Did that make all Yorubas Biafrans?
My advice for all Biafrans is that they should limit their agitations to their region alone. If other groups are interested in the cause, the groups should show some form of commitment. Igbos were not given any right to speak on behalf of any other group in Nigeria. We all have our rights to self-determination and we should be allowed to express it however we see fit.
If the minorities want Biafra, they will overwhelmingly agitate for it in their cities. In Asaba, there have been Biafran rallies; proving that the Asaba people MAY be open towards the idea. So also in Port Harcourt and a small pocket of towns in the South. However, none whatsoever has been observed in Uyo, Calabar, Warri, Sapele, Abraka, Ughelli, Eket, Oron, Ikot Ekpene, Ogoja, Yenagoa, Twon-Brass, Benin-City, etc. This shows that the people DO NOT welcome the idea and are not interested. If a few persons are, then it is solely personal, just like the Yoruba soldiers and foreign mercenaries that aided the Biafran war.
@thread:
Nnamdi Kanu's wife is quite funny to conceive that the SE feeds the SS! While I do not deny that the SE has its own share of crude oil and other natural resources, the SS is regarded as the primus inter pares in feeding the nation! Without the SE, Nigeria can survive. In fact, the SE needs Nigeria more than Nigeria needs her. I wonder why the Nigerian government is trying to entrap people who are not willing to be Nigerians. Left for me, I would want to see an Igboid Biafra, at least for the sake of healthy competition! Thanks for this. Igbo nation are all going but for other tribes they have to decide. Pls advice your brother (victorvezx) to leave igbo land alone and teach him where igbo nation ends. Pls tell him that ahoada, eche, omumma, anioma, ndoki etc are all igbos. Pls educate him. |

victorvezx: If u are ready to go without the south south, then u will be considered You have been shouting south south and South south all these while. Hope u know those geopolitical zones are not recognised by 1999 constitution. What is recognised in Nigeria are the tribes and so do the constitution. Back to the topic. Where do u place ndoki, eche, omumma, ahoada, anioma etc among the three major tribes? Definitely you are from Edo state, you have no business with biafra bc edo has never been part of biafra and will never be .OK. Finally, state created yesterday by gowon don't define tribes and will never. What define tribes are language and culture. On this note, igbo nation does not end with yesterday created states. Stop grabbing igbo land. Last time I checked these people I mentioned above have never denied their igbo origin except ikwerre that said they are not igbo which we have accepted. |

But they cannot lure any other State to go with them. See them. So states created yesterday define boundaries abi ? How are u related to ndoki, eche, omuma, anioma and other igbo speaking people if u are not an Igbo? Next time, say igbo nation and not five states. |
