President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday ordered an investigation of past heads of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), over what it described as poor remittances. Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, who briefed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) about the performances of some government agencies, said JAMB for the first time remitted N5 billion to the coffers of the government with a balance of N3 billion still to be remitted compared to maximum N3 million per annum remitted in the past. According to the Minister, NIMASA remitted N4.95 billion in 2015 and N24 billion in 2016. Adeosun told State House Correspondents after the meeting presided over by President Buhari, that JAMB in July announced the remittance of N5 billion to the Federal Government which happens to be the highest so far in the last 40 years of its existence. She said the disparity in the remittances of the two agencies in the past and now necessitated the decision to probe all previous heads of the two agencies. The minister also disclosed that other agencies with similar discrepancies in their revenue remittances would also be investigated. The minister said the story was same in other agencies and the leakages which the government was poised to block. Adeosun told newsmen that FEC also approved for Nigeria to rejoin the African Trade Insurance Agency. “This is an agency that is out to provide risk guarantee for private investors coming into Nigeria as well as exporters from Nigeria.’’ She noted that the agency has an A rating international and is able to guarantee long-term projects. In a related development, Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, has assured that there is no cause for alarm over impending flooding across the country despite alerts issued by neighbouring Niger Republic of rising levels of River Niger there. The minister who also briefed Council on the development disclosed that relevant government agencies were monitoring the situation so as to issue early warning to areas that may be affected and mitigate the effect in Nigeria Also, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma said FEC had extensive discussion on the state of the economy. He said the Council was encouraged on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate, which indicated that it was going in the right direction, adding that the policies of the government have succeeded in stopping the economic slide. The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Aisha Alhassan yesterday attended the meeting, despite stirring the hornet’s nest when she reportedly declared she would align with former vice president Atiku Abubakar if President Buhari contests in 2019.

A self-confessed ‘witch’, Liyatu Michael has been beaten to death by an angry mob in Doka Village of Bauchi State. Another victim identified as Keziya, who suffered a similar beating, is currently battling for life in an undisclosed hospital. Trouble started for the two women after they allegedly confessed to be among those practising witchcraft that had “caused” many premature deaths and setbacks in the community. The irate mob thereafter pounced on them in a bid to force them to confess more details of their alleged atrocities. It was gathered that the youths were specifically angered that the duo were allegedly behind the grave illness of a young house wife in the community, identified as Yelkon. “Yelkon has been bedridden and seriously sick immediately after she gave birth and we learnt that her illness was caused by the two women who confessed to have ‘tied her’ in the coven and said she would be sick until she dies,” a resident of Doka, who pleaded anonymity, said. However, the Police in Bauchi said they have arrested four suspects in connection with the death of Ms. Michael, who is said to be aged 70. The Police Public Relations officer (PPRO) of the Command, Kamal Mohammed told journalists that the suspects seized the deceased, Liyatu Michael, and another elderly woman whom they suspected of witchcraft in a house in the community ”and started beating them.” “Report that reached the police indicated that on realising that one of the women had died, they took her lifeless body outside the room and dumped it in the backyard “We have arrested four suspects in connection with the crime while some suspects are still at large. “We are making effort to arrest them and bring them to justice. The four suspects would soon be charged to court for culpable homicide,” he added.

Passing by on the street of Maiduguri today, I saw a young man giving out new dresses to the disable less-privileged children (Almajiri's). I was amazed when I saw these singular act, that somebody who is not even a politician can do this to the disable Almajiri's so I walk up to the young man and I salute his courage that we still have hope this country called Nigeria. When I saw the faces of these children beam with smiles and I said to myself "if this is how the rich & politicians treat the people, Nigeria would have been a better place without agitations" Lalasticlala Seun

Sex is not all about making children. You must be a different woman to your husband every time. Seduce your husband, don't always allow your husband to ask for Sex, there must be no timetable for sex. Be creative, don't be predictable. Give him what he wants. If you loose influence over your husband, you have lost womanhood. Be part of your husband plans. Don't have too many children, you wanna sell them ? Allow your husband to check in and out anytime. When a man is sexually satisfied, he is emotionally stable. Stop saying, is it food ? Yes, sex is food !!! As a wife, try to invest in yourself spiritually so you can adequately support him. Build yourself as his prayer warrior so that you will not be forced to pray at the end of your life. Don't allow your husband to provide all your needs, he is not a money making machine. Iron sharpens iron, try to reciprocate. You are meant to support each other spiritually, financially, physically and morally through thick and thin. You are a builder....Wise woman buildeth her home. Women need wisdom to build their homes. Do not be too outspoken, know when to talk, when to listen and when to be quiet. Love your husband with all your heart, never tell him, if not because of my children, remember you've known him before the arrival of those children. Pamper your husband, put his head on your chest and pray for him. Give him unannounced kiss from the back.... mwahhhhhh, don't be too holy to kiss in the public. He is your husband for God sake. Be romantic joooo, it is good for the heart. Some people are not happy that you're happy in that marriage, proof them wrong that you love him and he is your crown, always feel good when you hold him. Don't look 50 while you're still under 40, it drives men crazy. Always keep fit regardless of your age or body. To men: Do not take a woman who does all these for granted! Pamper her, pray for her, cherish her, love her, support her financially, make her feel like your woman! God bless you and your marriages.

Yesterday, a social media user identified as Okibe Olivia went viral after she accused her fiancé of dumping her. The social media user wrote: “And this was my Introduction on the 7th of January 2017. Yes you read right, it was only my Introduction (knocking on my head and fixing date) and nothing more . It was a blast, fun but guess what? I was still a bitter woman down my heart , with all those smiles you saw me wearing on the face , I was still very weary and bitter because I knew I entered the wrong hand but I found out abit late. But to God be the glory , it ended in praise. Experience is the best teacher . My advice to girls is to please date him atleast for 2days or three days , a week preferably before you say yes to his marriage proposal . I never dated him oooooo and I said yes !! Pity me but eventually , I learnt my bitter lesson. Case closed” However, in reaction to the claim, the estranged fiancé, Emeka Augustine, has taken to his Facebook page to chronicle all that happened accusing her of aborting his baby without consent. He wrote: “Since the anger in my heart and poor signal did not allow me to finish up the story very well, I have decided to write some part of the story about this stupid Okibe Olivia who have been mislead by her mother and co. I have done my possible best to take care of this prostitude, but all my effort to make her be my woman proves abortive. She is the wast thing that have ever happen to me in my entire life. I never regret anything because life is a lesson. In addition, this girl was dumped by me because she refuse to stop her prostitution work after I came into her life. I accepted her as a prostitude even when my friends advise me not to. Her picture is number one picture in Toscana and some other hotels in Enugu although she always fool people around her; pretending to be a good girl. She knows that I have all evidence, she cannot have the courage to come to me physically. I accepted to marry the idiot even after I confirmed that she is a prostitude, my problem with her was that she refused to stop the work. She pretend that she will not remain idle since she was the one that use to take care of her family ever since her father died. However, she said to me that she is not yet done with her runs of a thing; which means that I have no wife yet till when she is done. However, I tried to give the idiot little chance to coordinate her way; but she still fail to balance the equation. Then i decided to let her go. She promised to abort her pregnancy, I was not worried about the abortion because I know that she is used to that already. Due to love I have for her as of that time not now anymore; I decided to visits her again in Esut after 5 days; but when I met the idiot, she have finally aborted the child. That was the last chance for her; then I told her that she will pay for all her evil. She is already paying for her evils. Her mother which supposed to be my mother in-law is the wast woman that you can ever deal with in life. She was the one that spoilt her female kids. All of them have gone astray. The woman is also a slay grand mama. Her nick name is ‘mama G’. In conclusion, the young lady is not yet ready to marry, she wanna continue playing games with men from different location; but my own case brought an end to all they games. I advised other Malaysian men to go and try they own luck may be it might favour them; as for me , am done for a very long time. I will advise you little girl to desist from using my name in your fake stories; because of you continue, I might deal with you little rat legally. I have tried my possible me best to help your life. I helped you because your a poor small girl; but your u grateful, you fool people around you, telling them so many lies. Most of them are wise, they know that your a fool and chip liar. Some of them fall for your chip lies; but that is never my business. You said that I want to use you for a ritual right ? You are an ungrateful human being; continue making fool of yourself in a social network; but don’t mention my name again. I am done with you 100%. Go and look for other Malaysian men; they will finally find out what you are then they will still ran away. You can never change nah, neither will your mother change. I will not open up any of your dirty shit here; so don’t be scared. I am a wise man; not stupid like you. I am sorry for any pain I might have caused anyone due to my anger. May the gentle soul of your father rest in peace. He is a good man, I know that if he a life, all those things will not be happening to his children. I wish you good luck to your future clients all over the world. Electronic Money reporting.

A middle-aged woman, Modinat, on Tuesday told an Idi-Ogungun Customary Court, Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State, how she alternated two husbands in order to satisfy herself and get enough money to take care of her three children. The woman, Modinat, begged the court to dissolve her 12-year-old relationship with one of her husbands, Ajadi Mufutau, for alleged lack of care and maltreatment. She told the court that she met Mufutau in 2005, adding that he impregnated her without marriage formalities, the News Agency of Nigeria reports. She said, “He pretended to be nice. But when he impregnated me, he began beating me whenever I demanded money for antenatal care. “I left his house after delivery and hooked up with another man, Saheed, who impregnated me two years later, but turned me into a punching bag after delivery of the child for him. “I decided to date the two of them until they met each other in my rented apartment and fought. “My Lord, I have decided to divorce Mufutau because he has stopped giving me money for the maintenance of the two kids I had for him since he fought his rival, Saheed, in my apartment,” Modinat said. Mufutau did not contest the petition for dissolution. The President of the court, Chief Mukaila Balogun, dissolved the union.

AM YET TO CONFIRM THOUGH Fellow Nigerians, I am happy to address you all today on my return from medical treatment in the United Kingdom. It is by the grace of Almighty Allah that I am here with you. I want to begin by thanking every Nigerian who prayed for my quick recovery. I also wish to thank those who lost patience with me. I understand your feeling. We have so much work to do in this country that every minute lost is a disservice to ourpeople. My special thanks goes to the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. He held the fort in my absence. I’m very pleased with his performance despite the difficulties our political structure imposed on him. He did the job of leading this nation so well that I have a renewed confidence in our leaders of tomorrow.I also thank the National Assembly, my ministers, the members of the judiciary, our security forces and civil servants across this nation who go to work everyday and look up at the picture of their leader who had been absent for long and still dedicate themselves to the task of the day. Being sick is a human condition. While we pray that sickness does not befall even our worst enemies, it is one of those life experiences that ‘will come when it will come’. For those concerned about the financial burden my illness must have exerted on our nation, I want to dispel your fears. Though as your president I am entitled to receive medical treatment anywhere that my doctors deemed best, I’m waiving that right. My family and friends will take care of my medical bills. As leaders, we must lead by example. I promised to end medical tourism if elected president of Nigeria. Two years after, it has not happened. You do not have to go far to know that it has not happened. My absence from Nigeria for 103 days makes it evident. It is my personal failure. I own up to it, the same way I own up to all that we promised but have not accomplished. As part of my renewed commitment to this country, in my remaining days as your president, I will make sure that no president of Nigeria will again have the need to travel abroad to receive medical treatment. We have done greater things in the past. We can do this. In the last two years, we have opened the window of opportunities for tens of thousands of our young people through the N-Power entrepreneur scheme. We have school children in 13 states of Nigeria receiving free lunch at school as part of our Homegrown School Feeding Programme. In 9 states, over 26,000 are receiving N5,000 stipend a month from Conditional Cash Transfer Programme. We have stabilized the Naira and the economy. No matter how raw and uneven it may have been,we have taken a stab at the fight against corruption. Though it is still with us, its wings of impunity have been clipped. And instead of unrelenting on this fight, we are reloading and refocusing. We have made strides here and there, but for many, the change that we promised has not materialized. In some cases, the change has taken many of our people two or three steps backwards. To them, it is hard to preach that stepping back is part of the process needed for a forward push. They may have seen the rams do it, but that does not mean that theywill understand it and embrace it when it means doing with less meat intheir pot of soup. For me, this period of ailment has been an opportunity for great reflection. If I had an illusion that I would always be with you, that illusion is gone now. I will not always be with you. But I know that Nigeria will always be with you. I, therefore, come back with a renewed commitment to leave a better nation for you all. In the little time that I have left in this role as your president, I want to see a more united Nigeria for all. Our unity can only come if we create an equitable and just nation.I have had time to look at Nigeria fromoutside. I have watched with great interest how the wheels of the nation work from afar. They are not working well. All that we were afraid of are happening now.We shall confront them. But more

The Bugatti Chiron doesn't cost $3 million just because it has a 1,500 horsepower engine, a zero-to-sixty time under 2.5 seconds and a top speed over 260 miles an hour. It's the fastest street-legal passenger car in the world, but what's really impressive is that it still looks so good. Think about it: If someone had just listed all those numbers would you still expect the car to look pretty? When the goal is pure speed, visual aesthetics usually take a back seat -- way, way back. So does comfort. And driveability. The car would have wings sticking out all over, massive air vents and a tiny, cramped passenger cabin. But that is what's so amazing about the Bugatti Chiron. It isn't just catapult-quick. It's beautiful. And it actually drives like a normal car. Yes, it only seats two -- but in relative spaciousness and comfort, and in remarkable taste. Every surface is covered in leather. A metal spine runs up the center and curves around into the roof, parroting the metallic curves on the outside of the car. There are no large computer screens inside, only tiny round ones that fit inconspicuously inside knobs. Bugatti wants this car to be enjoyable decades from now and computer interface design ages about as well as cottage cheese, so there is almost none of it inside the Chiron.

Much sadly, the people of Kwara on daily basis always have something to cry for, the workers cry for salaries, the pensioners cry for unpaid entitlements, drivers cry for good roads, households cry for basic amenities as water, electricity among others. Our children are left learning under shattered roofs, the list is just endless, yet, no array of hope of getting out of these messes the ineptitude of our government and its functionaries have flagrantly and inconsequentially left us in. What a calamity! Recently, the outbreak of a deadly disease in Oro Ago community of Kwara state was reported by Punch news and acclaimed to have killed not fewer than seventy people (Kwarans), more sadly, the Kwara state commissioner for Health, Atolagbe Alege was called for reaction on this issue and as usual, just like others, he never disappointed Kwarans by uttering a careless statement that the King of the community whom the reporters quoted was only lying simply because they wanted an health centre in their community. This careless statement against the people he was appointed to serve is enough a reason to relief him of duty in an ideal system where the people count. This careless statement, the commissioner for health made without even making confirmation of the claim even when the lives of Kwarans is concerned. Even if his erroneous assumption was to be accurate, are the people of a community as Oro Ago not entitled to a health facility in their domain? The commissioner have not only made mockery of the people of Oro Ago and indeed, the people of Kwara but equally, he has shown his lack of regard for the life of Kwarans and alas, substantiate the fact that the Abdulfatah Ahmed-led government he is serving is a colossal failure if it can’t provide a community of that class with a common health centre after six (6) years of ruling, even considering the fact that the town falls under the Kwara South Constituency that produced the governor. I was particularly triggered seeing the report of concerned Kwarans who embarked on a fact finding mission to the community, even without holding any political office. Specifically, reporting their findings, Elder Oyin Zubair made the following revelations; “Having introduced our mission he confirmed loss of lives as a result of the alleged mysterious diseases. But denied originating the Punch story. He (The King) however confirmed that the Punch reporter called to clarify the deaths but denied giving a figure. We asked his opinion of the likely death roll. About 35 lives must have been lost, he stated. We then decided to move to the clinics and Fulani camps to ascertain more facts. At Banise Clinic, Mrs Yusuf, the officer in charge told us that some cases of blood vomiting with black substances were treated before the patients were transferred to OmuAran Hospitals within the last two weeks. We then proceeded to other clinics before returning to the Palace. We also visited few Fulani camps on Oroago -Oreke road. It was in one of the camps that we were told of the presence of the state health officers and WHO Representatives.” Considering the statements from these well meaning Kwarans, it was revealed that the disease had been reported about three (3) weeks ago. Majorly, the salient fact emanating from their report are as follows: 1. “Truly there is an outbreak of a mysterious disease or diseases killing the Fulani 2. The Fulani communuty reported through their Wakali & Jowuro to officials of Basic Health Centre in Oroago. 3. It appeared the LG didn't take the matter, which was reported about three weeks ago with levity. 4. The Health Ministry only had about this matter two days when HRM Oloro of Oroago sent an emissary to one of his subjects working at the state headquarters of the ministry. 5. The community has NO functional health institutions. 6. The Basic Health Centre is under renovation while the State Hospital has no staff.” Meanwhile, an issue of such magnitude, said to have been reported 3 weeks ago to our moribund local government and 2 days ago to our Honorable Commissioner for Health, who pretended to be ignorant or probably ignorant (maybe as a result of malfunctioning health ministry bureaucracy) and brazenly insulted the good people of the community by alleging them of lying abiutbwhat has consumed over 30 lives. This is a serious negligence on our state government’s part which is highly condemnable. If our lives doesn’t count any longer, what then is the essence of having a government? Shame! IBRAHIM Sheriff .A. 11/08/2017
