Dear all.

I have been battling with series of thoughts these few days as regards the state of mind of we Nigerians and by extension blacks.

Why do we always attribute our failures to spiritual attacks and the likes.

Why cant we all recognize our deficiencies (which are not necessarily of our own making) and make conscious efforts to overcome them?

God as far as I know, will not do for us what he has given us the ability to do ourselves and this is what differentiates us (so to say) from the whites.

They are so busy trying to overcome all odds and improve on the quality of their lives whereas we continue to fight the the unseen forces that we claim are responsible for our predicaments.

I implore all to let us start making conscious physical efforts to solve our problems and then back our efforts up spiritually. For example the main strategy of a so called late-30s spinster should not be running from one mountain to another but she should package herself (dressing, conversation, disposition and comportment) to be attractive to sound men. similarly an unemployed person should strive to make himself 'sellable' before resorting to battling unseen forces from the village and the list goes on.

If and only if half of nairalanders can key in to this, I am absolutely sure the ripples will resonate significantly in so called Nigerian mentality.

I am sorry if it sounds boring but I am writing this so as to help myself also because having written this, I also do not have an excuse to act otherwise.
